Minecraft Just BANNED These Forever… (this is very bad)

Sitting on my mind and I think the implications of it are pretty big so I guess we should talk about it over the past week or so some pretty big things have been unfolding when it comes to in-person Minecraft events long story short they may never be able to be held

Again today lies the plan is pretty simple let’s unpack this controversy from the very start of it to where it is right now I’ve taken some time and put together just about everything that I could find related to this controversy from the very Basics to some interesting

Articles that have been deleted to make this video easier to digest I split it into three categories with more inside of those so let’s start with the absolute basics of this controversy you know that whole 5w thing that you’re really bad breath Old English teacher would always tell

You about yeah let’s run through those the most important part of the basics here is the fact that it has nothing to do with the Minecraft developers like not at all if you’re feeling a little bit hot and heavy with this situation you’re valid but do not take it out of

Minecraft developers the Minecraft devs have nothing to do with this potential PR disaster that is currently bubbling over it’s not their fault instead look if you had to pin the sitch on anybody you’d be the people sitting behind the boards the people in the dark the people actually calling the shots and pulling

The strings here they’re in the shadows we don’t know them we never will okay okay I that was a bit dramatic wasn’t it the what begins with two convenient definitions definition number one convention a way in which something is usually done especially within a particular area or activity the other

Definition we’re gonna need to know for this one is Minecraft a type of Warship for sweeping mindset C since the very dawn of time when it comes to this game conventions have been a very big aspect of the community out of pure Burning Love passion and desire for this game

Here people have always wanted to get together in large groups to share their love and passion for this game and ask the universe’s biggest questions I was wondering um what’s the recommended amount of dedicated Wham I should have to serve rewind things back to just a couple weeks ago a Minecraft convention known

As my invention was slated to kick off their U.S round of conventions in North Carolina the first convention was going to take place on May 5th or something but on May 1st on the official Twitter account of my invention unfortunately due to circumstances beyond our control we have to cancel the forthcoming event

To Rally North Carolina and all events in the future as we say farewell to my invention now look I’m gonna be honest not like I had any plans to go to this convention or anything like that but when this thing popped up in my Twitter feed

Really early on I was shocked and to be honest kind of sad I feel like I could always remember hearing about this my invention thing I thought it was always going on at least in Europe also uh we’re gonna get into timelines a little bit more later but this event was

Canceled less than a week before it was slated to kick off since 2014 we’ve been so fortunate to make new friends visit countries and even gained a Guinness World Record not to be that guy or anything but priority applications cost 800 for people to break existing records

And a thousand for a new record open the plotted thickens my invention became a known brand to Mojang and Microsoft for the last nine years and received acknowledgment of the community events we held then down here we got a little bit of love for the Minecraft Community

But the real juicer begins right up here on the second page of the announcement Mojang it wants to encourage their fans however they feel that live in person events should not have more than 150 participants have sponsorships for the purpose of profit rent a venue or charge

The mission nor have it vendors selling Minecraft themed products okay that last one is valid who and what my invention specifically but in the grander scheme of things Minecraft conventions where and when at this point seemingly forever everywhere for the why but we got two

Angles we could take it on why was it canceled well these four reasons I assume my invention was going to violate every single one of those reasons right there but the better why that we should be asking is why is this so significant and why is it so bad

Fateful tweet and probably the last tweet from the mindvention Twitter account friends I’m trying my best here today to be completely unbiased with my talking about this story but I gotta be honest as a member of the community and not a member of Mojang it’s it’s kind of

Hard to be unbiased here but but anyways for the next bit of our timeline here in typical Mojang Microsoft fashion we get complete another radio silence for days until somebody makes a video on this topic after the rocky wild year there was 2022 you really would have thought

That Mojang would have crafted the perfect response to dealing with controversies or at least learned the saying absolutely nothing until it’s too late is a bad idea but hey I I don’t know so it was already a silence for Mojang until none other than the legend

Himself ibx toy cat dropped a video on the situation kind of like diving into it and breaking it all down boycott’s video on this whole Stitch was pretty good he makes some great points about the controversy that I won’t be making in this video if you want to know more

Then we got a couple days of Silence we get to toy cabs video and then like basically right after toy cat’s video couple hours later there’s a statement from Mojang it happened except hey a funny thing it’s not really even a real estate but it’s just a Discord message

Which I I guess kind of counts we like to clarify that we’re not outright Banning these events forever but rather our position is that large-scale commercial events need to be hosted in partnership with Minecraft moving forward at this time we have no additional comment another link theoretically we’re gonna check out that

Specifically read all of these things this is like that Twitter blue long tweet thing look I’m gonna be honest I’m not reading all of this but I skim through it there were some things in there that kind of shocked me but as far as I could tell doesn’t really add

Anything to the timeline here the only I guess uh maybe significant thing we could take from this bit is that it was last updated on April 17th so it’s been this way for a minute now something kind of significant went down in 2020 so they didn’t really have to enforce it then

But I do think it’s interesting that they’re only just now beginning to enforce their policy toy cat drops the video we get to save in from Mojang and then somewhere after the saving or right around it we actually have the removal of old announcement blog posts hey when

It comes to my intro sign of the day this is where I started really feeling it ah he’s not a fan of this one to be honest for a couple moments in that toy cat video some articles were flashed up on the screen stream I took a look at

Those articles right after the video dropped and they still existed for sure they were real but they’re now completely gone and look uh to be honest if you’re on team Mojang I can see why they would delete these articles because these articles are not good to make this

Whole situation even worse Mojang just like five six years ago at this point yeah well what if I told you they actually acknowledge the existence of mindvention mine fare and another one and actually like promoted them like like they pushed to these conventions and said hey they’re great you should

Check them out for yourself now Mojang was promoing these events way back in 2017. 2017 is when Minecon live or Minecraft I don’t know what they called it but it’s when they canceled their own convention and put it all online that all happened in 2017 and these conventions were promoted by none other

I guess technically maybe it’s not partnered with Minecraft they’re not making money off of it but hmm all right it’s weird why did they delete that all right I’ll admit it that bit got a little bit opinionated here so let’s go back to our 100 factual timeline we have the controversy

Dropping I guess back here we have old articles or something so extend it that way then we have a silence we have a video we have a statement we have removal of blog posts then we get nothing else which makes it all better to actually be able to pull off

And accomplish the final leg of this video today I will remove all bars from myself opinion is totally valid for this part let’s talk about why this is so bad with the whole controversy broken down in that whole timeline of events laid out at this point I feel like things are

Not looking too hot for Microsoft or Mojang or whoever is calling the shots here why this thing is bad I mean it’s pretty straightforward if you have a big community and you want that Community to be able to like share the love for the game create great memories you know Good

Vibes all that kind of stuff well then they have to be able to get together let’s be honest if no more than 150 people can actually get together for these events is that even really an event so you cannot have more than 150 people and you can’t even hold of this

Theoretical event anywhere like you can’t rent a hall to do it you’re gonna have to do it in like a field that you own legally also you can’t charge his mission so there’s no tickets great no sponsors at all so any of the stuff that

You had to get to actually set up this event yeah yeah yeah it’s gonna come 100 out of pocket and simply put with those rules laid out and taking Mojang’s statement into account the only way to Emperor have a Minecraft convention again is if you get Mojang more

Microsoft involved somehow or you just literally don’t have an in-person convention you just do it all online um what this not only entirely restricts potential event planners that want to prop up the Minecraft Community but obviously it severely restricts everybody inside of the Minecraft Community as well Minecraft YouTube

Video maker Minecraft streamer Minecraft player your 97 year old grandma that loves to go to in-person Minecraft events just because she needs to get out a little bit yeah every single person has been cut off it doesn’t happen other than this whole situation actually existing the thing that actually shocks

Me about this the most though is the timing of it all like we are literally about to release finally an update that the community is loving and hyping up maybe yeah it may be positive PR right now um maybe we let this one Fly for a little bit after all of the

Controversies that broke in 2022 finally things have calmed down the community is loving what the devs are doing with the trails and Tails update it’s fire it’s a 100 hit however the update is coming out very soon it has not released quite yet and you do why would we change PR why

Would we go ahead and make a big controversy that could potentially overshadow or at least take away some of the Shine from the new big update ah that makes no sense just let the event happen for now and a point that I already made a couple times in a video

Uh how is Mojang not learned from the past where are they getting the idea that like saying silent is going to end up in their favor so that’s it that’s the big No-No the giant oopsie that Mojang has made this time around I wasn’t too sure how to wrap up this

Probably a little bit too late for that one or at the least make an official blog post like tweet this thing out or something that’s all you need to do and explain the whole position in a little bit more depth than like two sentences inside of a Discord message like share

On paper I guess Minecraft is Microsoft brand or whatever but like without the community Minecraft nothing I don’t know about you and how you feel about this you let me know down below but I feel like restricting the community and erasing all events that’s not good

Mojang employee saying that maybe they will see us in game or at a future Festival since that point in time every single Festival has been banned so hey yikes anyways I guess that’s it I’m sorry to be a little bit of a downer but I feel like this one needs a little bit
