Minecraft Leaderboards Plugin | AjLeaderboards

Hey what’s going on there everyone today we are going to be showcasing how to set up leaderboards for your minecraft server as you see in the background behind me here we have a nice mpc with an island top leaderboard and that is exactly what i’m going to be showing you

Guys how to set up with any type of server any game mode that you’re using it is really good just have leaderboards so players can see you know if you’re running any type of competition or anything along those lines they can see who’s on top and then they can try to

Compete against there to get those top places so uh aj that awards is a great plugin to get this set up for your server so let’s go ahead and dive into it so there’s a little bit of setup and a few things i want to mention before we

Go back in game to get this plugin set up first of all you will need to have a jade leaderboard installed as well as placeholder api and typically almost every server has this just allows the use of placeholders and tons of plugins to work with it as well so that is kind

Of the the two primary things in this video i’m gonna be using a plug-in called a decent holograms and this is kind of like a holographic display replacer plug-in uh this also already has built-in placeholder api support which is perfect and it does not need any dependencies so that is a hologram

Plug-in i am going to be using for this video so there is a little bit of a different setup process if you are using holographic displays but i am switching over to decent holograms just because it is a lot easier and everything kind of works out of the box

So once you have those plugins installed we can come to the wiki i definitely recommend going there to looking over everything first of all we need to figure out what placeholders to use and so this is where placeholder api comes into play we need to figure out what

Type of placeholders we want in order to show on our leader boards and here is a nice link right here if you click this it will show you placeholder apis here’s all the different types of placeholders that are included and kind of registered uh with placeholder api here so the ones

I’m going to be using for this video i have a list right here is going to be showing top kills the vote top and then balance top or vault so the top kills are going to be pretty pretty easy because that is going to be using the statistics it’s already built in into

This right here so if we click on statistic and we need to make sure we run this command in game so what i’m going to be doing so i’m going to just put this in parentheses so we make sure we run it after in game and then for the

Actual placeholder we want to get the kills so if we scroll down here we’re going to be player kills that is the one we want and then i’m just going to paste that right there because we will be adding this a little bit later next on my list i’m going to be using

That vote top and this is going to be from the plug-in superb vote or super be a vote whatever you want to call it so we can do super superb vote and there it is and this is the expansion we need to run in game so

I’m going to put this on my notes here and then now we need to get the specific votes and as you see right here we already do have like a vote top essentially and some plugins will have this some won’t so i’m just going to be grabbing

That the basics of votes right here and as you see this already does have a built-in but since we are using aj leaderboards we’re just gonna use the votes and then we’ll kind of section it off as we go on next is going to be the balance and this

Is going to be using vault and so you do need to have alt and here is the expansion i’m gonna copy this and we’ll put it right here so we make sure to run that and we’re just going to be running and using this placeholder right here rather

So those are all the placeholders so these are the placeholders we’re going to be using for aj leaderboards to determine you know the top three top five players in each of these categories and then this is the command we need to run in game once we get all that figured

Out so that is everything that i need to do for this video of course taking your time into finding whatever placeholders you need to use for your specific server and we’ll go ahead and jump in game and we’ll get started all right everyone we are back in game and we can start adding

Our specific placeholders to aj leaderboards so what i’m going to be doing is bring up my list here so this is what we need to add so first i’m going to add the specific expansions from placeholder api so you need to have those first registered before you start

Adding the placeholders so what we can just copy that command and we’ll copy this one as well so make sure you do this step first before you start adding a specific placeholder or else it will not register so i’ll go ahead and reload that paping reload that looks good and if we check

Our list here and everything does look like we have all every the hooks that looks good so everything is registered from placeholder api now we can do our main command for aj lb or aj leaderboards and now we can start adding our specific placeholder so we can go

Ahead and do ajlb add and here is the specific placeholder we’re going to be adding for each of these three so make sure you just add that and we’ll take care of the super be votes and we’ll take care of the votes just like that as well as the balance

And there we go so now we have our three and to just confirm we can do ajlb list and those are our three placeholders we’re going to be registering for you know the top three people of these specific placeholders so now that we have those things added i’m going to

Start making our decent holograms so this is just going to be using this hologram so i’m going to do dh and then hologram create now i’m going to call this kills all right and we’ll move that a little bit later i just want to get all three

Of these done so we’ll do kills and then votes will be this one and then the last one here is just going to be bow or balance so now that i have created each of these three it is very easy to add all of our different things through the config so

That is what i’m going to be doing so go to my plugins folder and i’m going to be using these holograms here and here is our different one so we’ll start off with kills because this one is kills and as you can see it’s very easy edit so we

Can actually bump up this y so i’m just going to bump this up to 100 and that will move up the height here so then to edit here is the content and i want about four lines so the easiest way i found just copy this and then we can

Just paste it make sure everything is spaced properly so this is going to be the title and then here is line one line two line three so that is what i’m going to be doing so then we can edit this and we can say i’m going to put single

Quotes around this and we’ll just say top kills just like that and then now we can start adding our specific placeholders through aj leaderboards so i’m going to be going to the wiki here here is a very good explanation of what happens so to give you a rundown of

What’s happening here so we have aj video board and then this is what we need and then here’s the specific placeholder it’s looking for which is murder mystery wins and then whatever place and then the time format so this is all type of wins um and then we have the specific player’s name

So that is what we’re going to be doing for our specific things and then of course at the very end we have the same thing and then the value so if you want a good list of the specific thing you can come to the wiki here and get the

Specific placeholder so here we can see the name and the display name if you are using vault uh you can also show like the prefix of the rank if you’re using luck worms you can have a nice prefix there so you can go all crazy and

Customize it but just for this video i’m going to be showing just the basic name and then the value so i’m going ahead and copy this here so we’ll just copy this and we’ll go to our config here do the single quotes and i’m just going to say

In yellow we’ll just do number one and then we’ll paste this in in game we can do aj lb and then list and so here is what we’re going to be doing so for me it is the statistic player kills and so if you still have that uh what you wrote

Down last time for me i have it on my notepad and just enter this right here without the percent signs at the end and then the specific place number so we’re going to be checking one and then the type so this is kind of like what a time

Frame that you want so you can have several time frames i believe let me uh see where it is yeah so you can have several all-time hourly daily weekly monthly which is pretty nice so if you had some sort of giveaway at the end of the month you could do like monthly

Giveaways or like weekly create keys to whoever has like the top line blocked or something so whatever you want to do is really nice so for me i’m just going to do all time because that is easiest and then the player’s name then i’m going to add a dash here so now

We need the value and the value is very easy to get as you see this is what it is basically just changing the very last uh specific text to value so i’m going to copy this just for ease of reference here and we’ll paste this in right here

And the only thing we’re going to be changing is the very last thing and we’ll call it value all right if i can spell right there we go so now that we have that done essentially we could just copy and paste this uh specific content

To each one so what i’m going to be doing is that right there and then the content like that and then we can change these values to 2 and then to 3 and of course we need to change this to 3 right here and three right there

Oops two right there my bad and then we’ll need to change this to two and two to three all right so make sure the numbers match up so this is two two two and then this is three three and three so let’s go ahead and save this so we’ll

Save that and then for me i’m using decent hologram so decent holograms reload and there we go top kills bada bing bada boom so we have a soul striker which is me number one and i have zero kills and this will populate over time if for some reason you do not see the

Specific uh your name uh it is probably due to a permissions so if you take a look at the permissions right here and you need to set this to false if you want your specific name to show and so what that looks like in luck perm so if

You do lp user the user permissions and we can do permission and then set so this would be ajlayboards.don’tupdate.star and then you would set that to fault all right so by default all ops our operators have those permissions so won’t show them in the leaderboard so this is the command to basically update

That so the operators or everyone who has star permissions will be updated on this list so uh just one thing to keep in mind so there we go we got the top kills and essentially you’re gonna be repeating this to each one of your various things so just to make

Everything easy for me i’m basically just going to copy this pages section and i’m going to go back to so the middle one is going to be votes so we’ll do votes right here i’m going to change this to 100 for the height so it’s easier to read and then we can do

The pages just like that and we can do top votes i’m going to make this green just like so and then we’ll just need to change our specific placeholder so once you have edited with your new placeholder make sure everything is good to go you just have to change the placeholder

Because all the places are the same from last time we’ll save that and we’ll reload and there we go we have our top boots i forgot the color code oops i put a three right there instead or i forgot to change it one of those and there we

Go now we have our top votes and essentially you can just copy paste for your specific placeholders so the very last thing i want to show you is how to get this set up using citizens it currently does not work with the zmpc plug-in if you are trying to use the mpc

Um so just bear that in mind as of the time i’m recording it is not compatible with that so it only does work with citizens for this but i’ll show you how to get that set up so on the wiki here it gives a very good

Example of how to get these set up so you could actually have the two different ways to set up a mpc so you could just show the person who is in first place or you could show like a top three of like the three people like

Standing here so you could have like a little like a board thing right here so you have like first second third or something along those lines it depends on how you want to set it up so for this one i’m just gonna have whoever is in the top is gonna be shown

As a npc character so we’ll go ahead and we’ll call this uh mpc create and we’ll call it kills all right so now we have the kills here and i’ll make him a look around so we’ll do mpc look and so here we can use our placeholder for the skin

So we can do slash npc skin and then this is going to be aj leaderboard so i’m going to grab from my config file here so we’ll go to holograms and this is for kills and this is the specific placeholder we want right here so we’ll do the skin and

Then we’ll paste in the name and there we go now it does say hey this is our specific top leaderboard so i’m going to actually remove his name tag so that will toggle off and that looks good so this will only show who’s in the top place and i

Will show their skin which is really cool all right so then we have a top three so what we can do with that one is we can actually add the placeholder specifically to the name so if we take a look at the wiki here as you see hey

It’s recreating a specific name and basically adding the value and then the specific kills all right so essentially we’re doing a very similar thing and for this one this is going to be votes so essentially you’re just going to be copying this right here all right you’re

Essentially going to be copying the same thing so do mpc create and then we can basically just i’ll copy this whole text right here all right and we’ll just paste that in and there we go as you see it number one and we can also do mpc skin and then

This is just going to be copying the name right here all right and there we go so now that is good we can have him look around and there we go so he is the first place and we can add the second nbc right here so

Nbc create and this would be the second one we’re going to be copying right here and then npc skin and then this is just the name that we’re needing to copy just like so and there we go we’ll make him look around so whoever feels in this position

At second place then that skin would appear so there are several different ways you can make it uh for an mpc just have a first position or you can have the one two three four five etc etc so all depends on what you want to do to

Set it up but that is how you use your aj leaderboards a very helpful plugin i love this plugin is very easy to set up and you can create basically leaderboards with any type of plugin that works with placeholder api pretty fantastic links for all this stuff will
