Minecraft Skyblock, but I use Potatoes to Survive 🥔 | Sky Potato Block | Ep.1

So you’ve played Sky Block you’ve played Sky Factory you’ve played one block you’ve played stone block you’ve played many of these Skyblock variants yeah have you ever came across Sky potato block what is this yeah I had to hit record guys I just stumbled across this on the uh cast Forge launcher

I I don’t even know why I’m recording this but yeah welcome this is episode one of Sky potato block um I will have a link for it in the description of video it’s a 1.18.2 Java mod pack um so unfortunately it’s not a Bedrock one I’m afraid but yeah I’m going to

Turn this into a hardcore series um so if I die obviously it’s a GG but yeah this is essentially my Island um I think the Modpack developer must be uh obsessed with potatoes oh God but I I really like this because this is a different take on Skyblock

Right like where’s the dirt where’s the tree where is my lava and water I I don’t know I just had to uh hit record I don’t know why I’m crazy right but anyway this does um actually come with quests oh my God a ginormous potato

On my screen there we go uh so we’ve only got the one that we just said start and if we to read please hello and welcome to Sky potato block this mod pack very good I like potatoes good look um yeah once we take this off this is how it begins basically

And we get given a 32 lovely poisonous potatoes and this is actually from the family expansion mod pack I think it’s like a potato battery so maybe we need to craft that probably if this is all about potatoes at some point but yeah first resources so first of all all we

Need to do is get four of these potato crates and we’re gonna get something called a basic crafting table so from understanding what basic crafting table is that is actually the extended uh crafting table mod um so yeah I imagine there’s some crazy recipes in this but yeah we just need to

Gather up for all of these so I will just quickly do that um just quickly there vein Miner is in this so like the FTB Ultra line but I don’t really want to alter mine all of these potatoes um I will just gather four of these but

I will show you something so obviously the altamine is in this but if you um hold shift and scroll your mouse wheel you can actually turn the actual size of it now I’m going to actually turn this to a small square so it’s five my Learning Blocks so now if I break this

It will actually break five of them like that now that is a bit more safer than me actually losing all this because I don’t really know how high this is now I haven’t actually played this before so I don’t really know if this is complete or if it’s

Still in like a a beta stage hopefully it’s quite complete but yeah let’s gather up a few more of these because we’re probably going to need them right uh maybe one more that would do because then we’ve got 12 right okay so Quest done so we should get the basic crafting

Table yes very nice okay so this branches out to two more things what’s this more than potato modern potato this is not a basic potato block what is this foggy it looks more like a bit of a an orangey cheese right so I guess this morning potato is basically just an

Ingredient for recipes and then what about this block then is that the same sort of thing yeah oh wow okay wow this guy is crazy who’s made this wait what what that is the most stupidest recipe in the world oh God I love this this is so cursed and

Weird but anyway we’ve got to make some biofuel I think and a new clog um oh okay so right yeah the basic craft of the table you use that to get some biofuel and I presume the biofuel is used in some way to get the oak logs

Then yeah okay so we need four of them and you get four of them in exchange Okay cool so let’s put this basic crafting table down uh hang on a minute uh let’s break this one a minute and break these other two that are right

Next to me and what I’m going to do is kind of maybe somewhat expand my island with these potato crate things uh I’m probably gonna break these two layers right so this would be a good level what are we actually at 71 okay that’s pretty dangerous for uh Phantoms

Right let’s just do something like this for a minute there we go and then let’s put that there there we go cool so this is basically a crafting table um nothing too fancy going on there so we want four of them there we go and is it like that yeah

There we go nice I might need to do that again for the quest nope I actually need to get four again okay there we go perfect okay so we don’t get anything for that but it’s telling me now to make an oak barrel um okay oh and I guess we compost down

The uh the potatoes to make dirt right is that how this works yeah it looks like it probably is right I imagine so so I’ve just placed my Barrel here and what I’m going to do is use some potatoes to get some dirt okay this is very weird Okay so over time

That will turn into a dirt block and that should be that Quest done okay so hopefully that’ll Branch out to some more things um this is a bit weird because like it shows leaves and I definitely did put any leaves in there wait what project is in this I didn’t even pay

Attention to that wait what oh wow okay oh so that means we might be able to get the uh transfusion mutation table let’s just have a look a minute yo what the hell is all of that you need so many potatoes for this oh my God what’s this Gold potato

How do you craft that oh my God I don’t know what’s going on guys but this is crazy I gotta need so many potatoes oh what is this pack so the sun is about to set and as you can see I’ve actually broke all of those potato crates I think they actually

Gained quite a lot to be fair um I’ve been thinking as well like food is not going to be a problem at all is it really but anyway I’m gonna make some more dirt here quickly and I’ve actually got a spare one on me because I’ve been

Having a quick look we can actually make something called a dirt a generator here which I presume will generate a load of dirt for me now it requires a lot of logs and a piece of dirt and a chest um which I can kind of get from potatoes what this is so weird

Um okay I think that might be enough maybe uh we need to make a chest maybe I only need one of them uh that um was it that seven of them and a piece of dirt yeah there we go we got attached generator okay I’ve never used this mod

Before so I I don’t really know how this kind of works um let’s just put it down and do we sneak and have a look dirt okay okay I think it’s just generating dirt like that I’m not too sure how we obtain it though maybe we just break it and it like drops

This inventory or something I don’t honestly know but anyway we got a third generator that’s cool and it looks like we can tear these up oh my God you can go all the way to never right um which is going to be interested okay so a botany pot aha now this would be

Very useful because potatoes can obviously grow in them and okay it looks like we need quite easy stuff but what’s this an oak plank block oh okay so it’s like a compressed block of planks interesting okay so that’s basically an absolute ton of wood again

Um okay so can I just put in like 12 of them and it will it work like that oh yes it does okay cool all right let’s turn all that into that there we go and let’s make some more planks uh I think I needed two wasn’t it

I’m not on I think it was two it’s not really a biggie I think we can just decompress these anyway yeah okay that’s fine uh let’s get a couple of them I think I needed a chest and maybe some more planks I’m not really too sure let’s have a quick look

Uh botany part this is weird we don’t need clay there we go boom done let it grow botany part nice okay so next we need to get a hopper body how do I get iron oh okay uh we need cobblestone in the chest okay well this has got loads of dirt in

It now right 49.50 I honestly don’t know how we get the dirt out of that and I’ve placed that down by mistake uh I think I might need to make a pickaxe right maybe maybe let’s be clever here maybe we need to make a pickaxe or something

There we go and can we break this with that no it’s saying an ax at the top there right so maybe I need to make an ax then and then if I break it will it drop its uh goodies inside it I don’t like I say I’ve never used this mod

Before I presume it’s something like that right if it is a bit okay yeah it is like that okay that’s a bit weird maybe we’re gonna need pipes or like the hopper or something to to automate it or something pipes are in this okay that’s good

Um okay I noticed as well creators in this because if I hit Escape you can see the little create goggles here which is very nice so creators in this so potatoes can create interesting um okay right let’s lift up this now I’ve got some tools um and I guess I could probably make

Somewhat of a little platform here now right I’m so used to playing Bedrock right now here we go now I’ve got a dirt generator this isn’t going to be too much of a hassle right here we go this makes a bit more less potatoy so my next Quest is to make a

Philosopher’s stone and I presume we use this to make some cobblestone in some way maybe turning the uh dirt into Cobblestone yeah I need 18 27 36 pieces of dirt here so I’ve just placed down my generator again ah it’s got about 20 blocks in it so let’s break this and we

Should be able to make some compressed dirt now yeah there we go nice so I need four of them and for easy sake uh let’s just type in stone here I definitely cannot spell philosophers there we go and move items boom okay am I right what does it turn these into anything no

But it looks like it’s going to work on these so do we turn that into Sand Grass sand ah I see so if we sneak yes okay I got you so sneaking and um using the floss of stone return into a cobblestone here we go so now if I break this with

My pickaxe I can use vein Miner on this right let’s go we’ve got some cobblestone next Quest is done what what are we doing now oh my God okay so we gotta make a note Crucible we’ve got hammers in this and we got iron popping up

Ah that’s how we’re going to get iron and stuff right using sieves and things like that I see I see I see perfect there’s that so this will be used to obviously get water but do we put potatoes in that no okay poisonous ones no okay so we are going to need to

Get leaves at some point I don’t really know how we’re gonna get them yet um oh this is Branched out to something else as well I didn’t spot that a cobblestone generator ah this one would be good so now obviously I’ve got all that Cobblestone I can make myself a

Cobblestone Hammer as well this is another Quest done and now this is telling me to make gravel okay and I can see whenever I click these quests it’s branching out to two more little things so we’ll see what that branches out to it’s probably going to tell me something

About the sieve I reckon if if uh if it would make sense maybe let’s just do four of them for now I’m just intrigued let’s break these there we go we’ve got some gravel nice I know it’s telling me to make a gravel generator and then we’re gonna go sand

Probably then I’m guessing it’s gonna tell me to make a sound generator yeah I did a dust generator is that a thing I don’t know we’ll have a look uh no there isn’t a dust generator Okay cool so this is telling me to make them so that’s pretty cool we can actually

Make generators for each of these different things so that will actually save me making like any auto hammer situation I can just use these generators to automate things right so I just been having a quick look into um the actual iron situation for this mod pack very interesting we actually

Are going to need potato blocks okay um mixed with the Philosopher’s Stone will give me free nuggets now one of these is nine of these okay which one of those is technically eight potatoes plus nine potatoes so if my mouse is correct that equals 17 potatoes

Per one of them and I need to do 17 potatoes times nine to get one block of this uh this stuff the more than potato blot which then I can use to actually craft up the iron nuggets so I’m gonna need three of them to get an ingot

Yeah that that is loads of potatoes man so yeah my theory right now is probably best to probably make myself a couple of these Hopper botany Parts I think so I need to get some hoppers on the go so all we need is a load of cobblestone and

Some dirt now what I’m gonna actually do is make the dirt generator just sit there and I’m actually going to go ahead and make myself the um next generator which would be the uh Cobblestone one but I’m gonna need myself a chest as well uh so yeah I’ve basically just been

Having a bit of a browse to see what this uh this Pax options are in a way of um what I need to do so yeah whenever this emits particles I think that means it’s like producing something right so yeah I need to uh get a lot of compress

A cobblestone for this which is five times nine so that’s 45 and a dirt chest is a dirt with um a potato crate so I could probably do that if I break this now um oh yeah that they’re pretty good to be fair um dirt generating stuff maybe I

Should make a few of them shall I maybe I don’t know I haven’t got a lot of wood left actually okay we’re gonna make we’re gonna make another dirt generator I think because it’s quite handy out that has to be in the middle okay there we go uh turned a couple of them

Into that there we go we can make another chest you go like this bang in the middle boom done cool so we’ve got two of them so now I can just pop that open again and then put that one down and in a minute I will grab the F1 again cool so

A dirt chest was that and that right so I should probably make like four of these oh okay I didn’t do that right there we go I should probably make like four of these I was gonna say there we go um because I’m probably gonna make another cobblestone generator right at some point

Um let’s break this and see how much we got going right now okay we got 42 that’s almost what I need I need a 45 right it’s only three more there we go we’ve got three more in there nice and we are basically working our way towards getting our first Hopper here uh

Let me let me just do a bit more of that and then get myself a normal Minecraft chest there we go I think I might have had enough plates anyway and let’s just set this thing this is such a weird start to escape I’m

Cobblestone first in the hopper so a little bit of a progress update guys um I’ve actually made two more Cobblestone generators and I’ve Got Dirt generators all sat on Hoppers now um obviously I started with the Cobblestone you saw that and yeah it’s easy technically now I don’t have to

Think about dirt or Cobblestone ever again basically I can upgrade these if my speeds need to be improved or anything um I’m not really too sure how you upgrade them but anyway I’ve actually got a spare Hopper on me and I think we craft it like this there we go one

Hopper botany pot so that Quest has been completed and that is finish that line off as well okay so all we need to do now is get some iron but that is going to be quite expensive as I’ve already said but I wanted to get some Hopper

Botany pots on the go to get some potatoes growing um so yeah let’s grab some dirt out of here and is storage drawers in this no okay what kind of chest have we got in this okay so we do have iron chests and things like that uh we got the final

Star here what the oh wow okay so the extended exchange mod is in this as well wow okay so EMC might end up being quite a big thing in this mod pack as well interesting um okay so for now then I should probably make myself uh another chest but we’re gonna oh no

We’re gonna use up quite a few of my potatoes let’s do this hopefully there’s no holes under that nope okay cool nice I’m getting really worried now guys as well because we’re actually on day one which is technically day two and I think the next day would be Phantom day right

Which is not good uh we we need to be careful with that anyway I’m going to turn all that into that and we’re gonna do a double chest I think like so and we’re gonna start the production of potatoes let’s try to say that let’s just get rid of that from there and

White wool using the modern potatoes so we’re gonna go ahead and do that just so I can make myself a bed but then I actually spoiled you can actually crush this down in a multi-survey press and actually turn into string for me which is really nice but one thing is I do

Need power okay that might not be a problem but the big problem is I need an unpacking die I don’t have the access to these resources just yet so yeah maybe that’s going to be um for the future but just quickly the um multi-survey press is actually quite doable now if you

Think about it’s just potatoes and a bit of cobblestone not really too bad but yeah let’s make myself a couple bits of wool and hopefully sleep the night away when it comes in a minute um okay so let’s get some more of these potatoes what crates I should say we are

Think this is very funky and very unique but this is looking like it’s unbranching to another one look um okay so we need an oak sieve and we need a string mesh but I am definitely going to sleep because I don’t want any Phantoms I am playing this in hardcore like I said

Um I’m probably going to make this sieve and then I’m probably gonna cool it I think um right I think if I’m top of my head it’s something like this right there we go there’s the sieve and we can make the mesh like so and I think like I said

Boom I’m gonna call it there guys so next we’ll be getting some Oak seeds which obviously all we need to do for that is just sieve up some dirt and we will eventually get some seeds I presume oh wow we get a lot of things actually
