Minecraft TerraFirmaCraft #1: Challenging Minecraft Survival

Pack and art just playing it and I finally oh look at that mountain over there I finally understood what the mod was about kind of and I decided to try it myself and you know what it looks pretty cool pretty cool indeed and I decided let’s try make a series out of

It we’ll see how it goes give it a try and yeah I just as I’m talking here let’s just click some of these rocks on the ground because we’re going to need these very difference from vanilla minecraft but it’s not like it’s not like jetpacks and nuclear bombs and that

Kind of stuff not that kind of modded minecraft this is this mod is focused on like survival it takes survival minecraft to a new level it’s kind of like you know that first day in Minecraft 2 and when it turns night and the monsters come out and you’re scared

And you don’t know what to do that’s how I feel right now except times a times den because this this mod is very unforgiving if you make mistakes it also kind of focuses on realism too in the game so it’s not not so crazy I don’t think

You can punch trees even although I don’t I never to try that we should try that you actually have to use tools to cut down the tree to start off with I believe um so that’s pretty cool I wonder what this is Oh beans sweet we got food so that green

Bar this green bar over here that’s my hunger the blue bar below that is my first level and there’s even like nutrition levels your five your five nutrient requirements nutrient requirements no not nutrient requirements there’s lots of nutrients food groups food groups yeah there’s like different seasons and it keeps

Track of what day you’re on and I believe the temperature changes as the season does and different crops grow at different times I’m I’m pretty sure and I don’t know if there’s like if you can freeze to death or anything like that I’m not sure about that but that would

Try this mod out at first because I thought it’s going to be tough to install but it’s actually really simple there’s some sticks on the ground here – we’re going to need these I wonder if I should be taking this stuff I’m not too sure but to install this you like I’m

Gonna apologize in advance to anybody that’s familiar with this mod I’m pretty new to it myself I just got it I’ve played the Stone Age I haven’t made any metal tools or anything like that slide I’m gonna get through this first episode and then beyond that I’m gonna be scratching my

Head a little bit so don’t be afraid to correct my mistakes it or give me tips or anything like that I don’t mind but if you don’t know what this mod is about and you want to try it yourself it’s really easy to get it you just need to get Forge 1.6.4

And you install that create a new profile for forge new directory and then put put the Terra Firma craft mod in the mod folder for forge and you are done it’s two files takes 6 minutes to install it’s awesome alright so why am i collecting all these stones

Well the way the crafting works there’s there’s this thing called napping I believe it’s what’s called yet napping if I right-click with this it opens up like the crafting menu but it’s not our usual crafting menu it’s this like I think it’s a 5×5 grid and you etch out

The tool you want so I want some knife blades to start off with here and that’s each of these is like a knife blade so if I do that we get two and then with that you can attach the blade head to a stick and we have a stone knife does

4040 attack damage really it’s not like it’s not like minecraft damage where we’re diamond sword does you know only a little bit it’s right now I think I have a ton of health but you take a ton of damage to everything is like amplified in terms of damage count and all that so

If I take this knife and I break these I then get this straw stuff and we’re going to use that to build our first house which I definitely want to get done before night time if I just break these I get nothing so I have to use

This tool so I’m gonna collect a bunch of this and we’ll probably set up in this biome because I like the grass color and there’s lots of trees around maybe we can find lakes and animals too that would be cool let’s go ahead and eat something so this is green beans

Don’t want to get too much food if I if I get all the food in this area oops and then I leave nothing for later I am in big trouble it’s not like vanilla minecraft where you get where you can get like a a seed from a piece of grass

Grow some wheat and in no time you have a giant wheat field of infinite food and then you go you go mining for 20 minutes and you practically got full diamond armor and you’re set for life it’s not like that you have to really struggle

For food and for for your armor and your tools and stuff alright so if we take this we can do that and we get thatch and that’s that’s like a building block if I cut down these trees by the way let’s see let’s let’s make a an axe so

To make an axe head we do this I believe yep stone axe head different materials have different durability and and it chops it at different rates and all that kind of stuff it’s pretty cool oh yeah we were going to try to punch this 210

We punch a tree down it does not look like it so let’s try chop it down oh my goodness this is going to take forever which is not a very good tool good one there we go and you don’t get wood from it yet logs I guess I just normally you

Little straw hut here or try to anyway I think we can make a fire too so to make a fire you need a fire starter and you have to throw three sticks on the ground it’s very weird and then you right-click them yeah there we go I remembered I’m

Doing pretty good here then I think you have to keep it fueled and I think I can make torches oh I can’t remember to make torches maybe we need sticks for torches let’s let’s try get some sticks here I totally forgot how to make torches I was on such

Gonna build a little straw hut here that offers no protection I just want something that looks cool um put a beam here this is like the only block I think I can make right now actually I could get soil the thing about this get this mod though you can’t even like just dig

In for the night because stuff can cave in which is a pretty cool dynamic to mining and all that in this like like all the blocks have gravity basically and they will fall if they are not supported we need more more of the stuff should we try out our torch did I leave

Actually see I’m a lot of sticks I believe you can get sticks from leaves let’s break some of these oh we get one oh we got a sapling I was actually wondering about that if you can get saplings from breaking leaves it turns out you can out there we go go to stick

My goal in this by the way since it’s like such a survival focused mod I’m not like I’m not going to kill myself to refill my hunger or anything like that every death must be avoided at all costs is the way I’m gonna be playing this

Let’s see what do I want to do I wanted to make a javelin so make a javelin I messed it up I think got you lose the materials too if you make a mistake like that there’s no way to undo it um at this yeah there we go stone javelin head cool

This is good this is our basic weapon there’s no sword or anything that you make off the bat this is your like basic weapon which I’ve never actually made before believe it or not so maybe we should try it out I don’t know if you throw it I’m guessing you throw it

We almost finished our shelter here it’s pretty cool oh let’s see let’s get this hopefully it’ll be days soon and we can start doing some more stuff here eat up a little bit and we just lost another knife alright okay the zombies on us it looks like

Was this game this mod holy smokes it’s not kidding about the whole survival thing but this is ocean water right here right I don’t know I guess there’s some plants that maybe refine it a little bit but I call foul on that one they’re connected water streams they would have
