Welcome to the mischief I’m Valen and this is immersive engineering for those that are curious today I will be covering the heavy plated shield the redstone probe connector as well as the turntable and a few different upgrades and updates that have happened to the pack mod whatever itself over time since This is now in 112 so start off with a heavy plated shield because I’m pretty sure that’s what everybody is going to want the most interest for on this one so here we go have you played shield it works really well in a workbench but first how do you Create one of these things in a crafting table you take some treated wood planks some steel plates and a regular vanilla minecraft shield and what benefit will it give you it will give you about three times as much durability if you look you’re durability 1024 is the overall Durability on this witch a regular minecraft shield is going to be around 336 so it’s going to give you triple at least now it can also be powered why can it be powered it can be powered because you can store things in it for instance I have here a magnetic glove because I Put that in the workbench otherwise at the very least it’s just a triple durability shield that looks really cool if you equip it you hold it up you can still see through it you can have your sword out of course you can’t really swing at the same time as have it up but You can swing while it’s down now the shield itself here let me kind of put this down and put this in here I have made here a magnetic glove in this one there are two slots you can upgrade this with but there are three different upgrades to choose from first and Foremost we’ve got the magnetic glove now you’ll see here there we go I now have the iron sword I have the shield over here but I am NOT going to equip it to equip it I’m going to backup twice and instantly it quips my shield let’s Do it again and it removes the shields all right well let’s put it somewhere in my inventory oh my gosh it still equips instantly just by double-tapping backing up or the letter S on your keyboard for those that are playing Java minecraft it’s really really good it’s a very good Option now if I put it in a crate I mined this crate up as you see here I would go and then I grabbed it it’s like all right well now since it’s a nested inventory and if I double tap backwards no because it doesn’t work you Actually have to have it at least somewhere in your inventory and then it will automatically equip just by double tapping back up so you’re already if you see something like oh my gosh there’s a skeleton you back up and suddenly you can equip it or unequip it just by doing That it’s really useful I like it quite a bit so on top of that other benefits where actually I’m going to put this over here so I don’t accidentally equip it while I’m messing around with another shield but we’re going to grab this one here this one has two other items in it One is a flash bulb the other our shock admit errs now a flash bulb I’m going to take out the shock emitters for now the shot of the flash bulb is really cool it will well let’s let’s actually grab it here so you can see what it looks like There we go a little rendering issue there sorry about that now if I hold this up you’ll see that it looks like an old 1920’s style like camera it’s really cool the idea what that is kinda I don’t know I’m thinking like Jimmy Stewart with like a rear Window where he’s you try and stun your enemy that’s attacking you something like that I’ve got some some Pigman here but I’m going to spawn in one of and then we’re going to get his attention now I have this equipped so if he figures out how to jump up that you see He’s got particles he’s got flashed to which means he’s actually slowed now of course he already is slow to begin with because he’s not that bright but he gets a really good slowing effect because he is blinded by the flash bulb that’s attached to this specific item now the Other item that we have here is going to be these shock emitters now let me equip this a shock emitter is really really cool um it has a totally different effect you can see it’s got a bunch of like LV parts on it which is really ridiculous but it is much more practical Than one might think let’s start off with a zombie pigman like before I’ll attack him I hold it up he gets injured but only every so often right now my capacitor is not full and therefore I have a capacitor oh I had a capacitor backpack no I didn’t it had Its own internal energy let me put this capacitor backpack on and it should automatically start recharging this item as we need it so let me place down another Pigman equip my shield I have my ax just get his attention I hold up the shield and he starts taking some damage Every now and this I ignore this the shield is currently flapping a little bit that’s just a little animation bug that’s currently been being looked into but if you notice on the bottom left corner there there is a little bit of a recharging animation going on with a Shell V connector that’s letting you know when this thing is ready to deliver another shock and every time it does it kind of gives like a little bit of a storm effect of course it’s working like a regular vanilla shield or to flex them but it also does a little bit of damage I believe it does just like a half-hearted damage for the most part but it works pretty good and it does deal damage to your attackers and of course that one I was deflecting for quite some time regular vanilla shield would have been eaten up by now but I was also wearing a Capacitor backpack which was feeding in power so that it would constantly recharge now on top of that you can combine effects of course as expected put in a flash bulb and shock emitters then you get a slowing effect and a damaging effect but it doesn’t just stop There now this is not because the flash bulb is in here but I am going to show you guys a little something else you notice I have some skeleton spawning eggs in here let me just kind of drop a skeleton here equip my shield and get this guy’s attention and you notice that You didn’t hear the usual bounce of a skeleton arrow being female bounced off the shield instead which don’t you get in the water you heard just the zap effect like that and essentially this guy will die because he keeps jumping into the Sun but essentially the idea is it will Stop arrows from incoming and you’ll notice that I didn’t even have my shield up that time this guy is is just not wanting to cooperate and shoot me here we go yep there we go you can see so I don’t even have to have my shield up but it Will evaporate or vaporize not evaporate that would be some kind of liquid it vaporizes arrows targeted at you but it does give a few seconds before you can work again so get compacting the water you’re going to die otherwise so there you go I mean it’s really really cool really useful Let me just put you out of your misery and it has multiple uses that can be really cool he also was getting the flash defect because he was close enough when he hit me that it activated that as well so you can have multiple effects going On at the same time now the recipes for these are a little bit unique let me um let me take this back out here put it in here and your shock emitters are just LV wire cables and iron rods right that that one’s not too bad the flash bulb on The other hand requires aluminum plate some kind of glass pane and a new item a vacuum tube vacuum tubes are introduced in more recent versions of immersive engineering this is now minecraft 112 that I’m showing you right now and it is a mid game crafting mechanic that requires the workbench or the automated Workbench with some kind of blueprint to make so you’re going to need some glass a bit of copper cable or copper wire and redstone and you’ll get three vacuum tubes from this crafting recipe which of course you can automate if you so desire now that was just showing you one of Them there are multiple new changes to the Minecraft 112 on top of that I’m going to show you this the Redstone probe connector which is really interesting in itself its recipe requires a circuit board it’s like what wait what like a circuit board but it’s an old-school circuit board we’re Talking old-school here of course in an engineer’s workbench same as before with an engineer’s blueprint you need insulating glass play in a couple of those vacuum tubes that you would have just made will make you a big old fat circuit board which you can actually see rendered through The thing which i think is beautiful and fantastic now what is this thing this thing it looks like a redstone wire connector but it’s a little bit different it is more of a comparator for vanilla standards I have a track set right now that is full so it gives off If I hold down stuff in here you can see power one because I just activated it but it either way it will tell you if an inventory is full now this is just showing you there’s no real difference in the redstone level here from the Opening it or closing it may be a trap chest but it works with inventories in general so in this case redstone comparator gives off a power of 1 you notice that this one here is off if I attach this to just redstone signal over here to a probe connector it will do Exactly the same thing there is no power levels here but there’s a power level of one it’s just letting me know that there’s stuff in the inventory if I take all this stuff out there we go the levels stop nothing is being displayed and put this in here it starts Activating again we now have a power level of 1 so you can hook this up with redstone coil to redstone wire connectors and therefore power different devices or trigger them in different ways and there’s been a rework for a lot of the multi blocks as well now keep in Mind though that when you place down one of these so the redstone wire connectors like so you’ll see that it currently shows a little blue band on there for those that are a bit rusty on this this one’s orange when you first place it down it’s set for input if you hover Over it with a hammer now it says input you have to right-click and it will change it to an output therefore it will allow the redstone signal to pass through C input output and you’ll want to be cautious because if you shift right click on one of these you’ll Change the color and the signal will be lost you’ll have to cycle all the way back through till you get to white again or the channel that you have it set for etc but that’s pretty much what this is allowing you to do now in the engineer’s Manual you’ll want to look up one of these connectors here we go redstone wires and you just kind of scroll through you’ll see your regular connectors then it tells you your redstone probe connector which as before you know it’s not too bad of a recipe but you then scroll further and It tells you now that the tank silo the assembler the work auto workbench the squeezer the fermenter the excavator the arc furnace and mixer can all receive signals like a redstone comparator would thus allowing you to automate inventories better you know input output etc with a more immersive approach and One that can be hooked up to a remote wire system much easier than your vanilla redstone make a large red trail here and there and everywhere something else I should probably show you as far as an update goes is the revolver it has changed slightly as far As the speed loader goes now I have in here a bayonet and an amplified electron amplifier of electron tubes which now of course require vacuum tubes as well but there there’s more to it than just that it’s how it functions really so let me grab this and this and you’ll see that I Currently have on the bottom right a couple of bullets now if I want to replace those bullets I hit shift right click like before and it will open the chamber here and I can grab them and you know put in or out the new ammunition but it also does a small animation down Here that is a bit more immersive and it also has something else if I shoot you’ll see a little like kind of a little half like quarter circle going around that’s your timer between bullet shots and if I reload with a feed loader I automatically do that really cool Animation and sound where I open it up switch it out spin the chamber and then I can fire again and it’s really really cool so you can see though it does have that little kind of quarter circle timer before you can fire again you can’t just like blast all of them off really Quickly anymore you actually do have a little bit of a timer between there but otherwise it should work just as before where you can now do a really cool reloading animation now last but not least we’re going to be covering the turntable which in this case what I’m showing you now is more For entertainment purposes than anything else you can see it’s currently rotating things a turntable is made simply with some treated wood planks iron and getting a copper coil block will get you one of these things and every time a redstone signal is pulsed into it it will rotate an applicable block above it So for instance if I choose something like a grass block it’s the same on the fore side so it’s not really going to be noticeable even if it did turn it but if it’s something like a furnace where you can actually see the outside or there Are certain facings on a block that are required then it may be beneficial to you now if you have a constant redstone signal going to one side it’s not going to change anything for instance if I place one down here and I grab a furnace And put it on top but in this case I’m also going to want to rotate which where it’s facing if I hold a engineer’s hammer and look at this thing it tells you where it’s going to turn things so you need to have stuff at this face well I need to change where this is facing so shift right click will reverse its direction but in this case I want to actually change its facing altogether so if I am looking here that’s currently not accepting it or no yes it is if you look at the block there we go I forgot you have to look at the block itself the turntable it will tell you above the block that it’s affecting so it’s going to turn that register that furnace now if I get a let’s see I don’t have any levers around here I don’t let Me grab a lever here and put one of these on this there we go put this down flick it and it will turn it every time that I flick that lever and give it a redstone signal if I just leave the signal on nothing’s going to happen but if I switched again Then it will continue rotating around so you can have this you work for all sorts of things like conveyors or you know furnaces or other maybe less practical means it’s all entirely dependent up to you and if I stand on top of this just so that you know whether it be the Furnace or myself it’s not going to rotate it to people it only rotates the block itself so I guess that’s about it for today I hope you guys enjoyed this bit by bit on all sorts of new and wonderful things in Minecraft 112 for immersive engineering and there’s even More things that I haven’t covered in here just little bits and bobs repairs fixes glitches you know things like that they’ve been taken care of as well as a few new little mechanics here and there but everything otherwise it’s just been kind of nice and up and I’m sure we’ll Be seeing plenty more in the future so I hope you guys enjoyed it so don’t be afraid to give a like comment subscribe and as always spreads mischief to others I think they’ll enjoy this content too until next time folks I’ll see ya Video Information
