Today I’m going to be showing you how you can MOD Pizza Tower we’re going to be installing the proper software changing the player’s speed and jump height and also going over some good practices for working with undertale Mod tools so let’s go first you’re going to want to follow the link in the Description to the undertale mod tool GitHub page where you can download the latest release so once you download that you want to extract this ZIP file I’ve actually already done it in fact I already had it installed at the beginning of this video then you would Go in here go into Windows latest and launch undertale module.exe now that we’re in undertale module we’re going to open pizza Tower with it so what you want to do is you want to go to Pizza Tower in your steam Library you want to click this little settings icon go to Properties and then you want to go to local files and browse and this will open up the pizza Tower files and the one we’re looking for is right here data dot win depending on whether or not you’ve already ran undertale module this may or may not already be openable with Undertale mob tools like it’s like I right click and click open with if it just shows up as a random file without the blue logo you want to go into under 10 module and click uh file open we want to copy the file location in the folder up here just Paste it in here it’s already there but you know and then you want to select data.win and one more thing it’s probably a very good idea before you make any changes to copy and paste the data.win I already have it there copy the data the original data.win and paste It and rename it to something like original because you want to have a backup of the Original Pizza Tower actually takes a fair amount of time to save and load I think it’s because it has so many pieces of art AKA Sprites that it just um takes a long time to Load but I might be wrong it might be something else all I know is that other games don’t take this long this may seem intimidating at first one day we’ll know what the majority of these do in the future of the series here you can actually look at the game objects so if I search for obj underscore player see we’ve got a player object here and this is the this is where you can see all the information about the object so you you can well as the mat The Mask it has this is probably going to be pretty confusing Unless you know the basics of game maker um for the coding especially I suggest you refer to the um game maker manual undertale module tries to replicate game makers code but what we’re interested in is the player Step Zero uh script now you may be thinking if we’re playing the If we’re changing the player’s speed and jump height why don’t we go into the create script because that’s what’s called when the player first gets created and surely they have a variable that marks the player speed in Jump height well um there is a move speed variable but it Doesn’t control the maximum move speed we actually want to go in here for that so we’re gonna go in here I don’t know if you saw that I pressed the little um dot dot dot button next to the script in the menu um so we’ll look around here you can see Uh we’ve got um a bunch of scripts here and we actually don’t want to use the script um we want to use scr underscore player underscore normal in this place in this case I was just showing you how you would normally find something like this and if you didn’t already know where it Was um so you can actually compress control and click this and it’ll open it um but you can also search it up here so scr underscore player underscore normal and then you would want to go to the code menu right here um which any would want to click that uh But what we’re looking for is the uh move speed so what we can actually do is we can press control F and we can search for move speed and we can uh click this Arrow to go back and forth between the different instances of the move speed and here’s what we want Um this is basically what this is doing is it’s saying if the move speed is equal to the the maximum amount then set the move speed to slightly less than the maximum amount so what we want to do is we want to just set this to like 100 Times that and then we also want to change right here where it’s increasing the move speed at a certain speed we want to change that to 50 so it won’t be like slowly speeding up um so now we’re going to go to file and save and we’re going to click data.win And uh click yes to overwrite it and now if we go into the game it should have a changed player speed so as you can see we are now moving incredibly fast and the jump height the jump height just doesn’t feel right when we’re moving this fast you know Um and also obviously if you do any of the special moves then it won’t go that fast because that’s a separate value of how fast you go there but if you’re just walking like normally then it will go pretty fast um so now I’m going to show you how to Change the jump Heights we should just be able to search for jump in this and you can see right here and basically we want this line right here because basically what this is doing VSP stands for vertical speed most of the time and what we want to do here is basically We’re setting the vertical speed to be uh 11 in the upward Direction so uh we’re just going to change this to 11 100. yeah so let’s save that and wait a Eternity for it to save I’ll see you then and now you can see the player’s speed and the player jump Height has changed in fact we’re just kind of teleporting to the uh to the top that’s pretty funny so yeah that’s the basics of modding a game maker game with undertale mod tool and now I’ll tell you the basics of um some good practices with the software it is a good idea to Save save save save save save always save and make backups because undertale model is made by only one person and it’s kind of glitchy which is understandable because they are taking on a really hard task of decompiling game maker which is harder than it sounds so every time you make decent Progress I’d suggest you make a backup of the data.wind and put it in your folder and remember if you don’t need it anymore if you like know the backup is useless at this point you’ll never need it again you can always delete it later and another thing you to know that I Probably should have said first is that game maker games have two ways of being exported now uh used to be they just had the uh virtual machine which was what uh undertale module was built to mod however recently game maker came out with a new type of exporting called Yo-yo compiler and it is horrible for modders because it changes the entire way the code is exported and it’s really hard to decompile the way that they are writing the code to assembly so basically long story short we can edit everything else like the objects in the Room which we will learn how to do in the future and the Sprites which we will learn how to export in the future um but you can’t edit the code in those games so if you load with undertale model and notice that it says that it’s made in yoyo compiler uh I mean I guess reach out to the developer and ask them for a Sandbox version because I don’t know luckily for us pizza Tower was made in the virtual machine exporting method uh which is perfect for mining so um yeah thank you Pizza dourdes very cool one more thing I should probably Mention is that as of the time I’m recording this undertale module does not support structs um an easy way to figure out whether or not uh your version has structs Because by the time you’re watching this it might have been added is to just go to a random script Uh go down to the bottom and do test equals uh Open Bracket closing bracket and uh it should give you an error like this um if it doesn’t support Shucks and yeah that’s about it for today next episode I’ll be showing you how you Sprites and As PNG files so you can use them in your memes so if you want to see that make sure to smash subscribe so you don’t miss it and yeah bye Video Information
