Hey guys mr. crayfish and welcome back to my redstone tutorials in this tutorial today I’m gonna be teaching you guys how to create a hidden chest as you can see there’s nothing out of the ordinary here I’ve got some normal house decorations so we’ve got tables and Chairs here and that pressure plate does nothing over here we’ve got our lovely kind of a longer table here with a mirror and some flowers on the side this item frame does nothing at all but if we actually go ahead and we throw an item in between here it’s going to reveal a Secret chest and normally you would not even suspect that of being there but yeah as you can see it’s revealed a hidden chest and this is where you can store secret items that you want to keep away from your friends now the good thing about this design it is not really Resourceful heavy as well so you can easily build multiple of these throughout your house but anyway I’m going to go ahead and show you how to build this today so what you’re going to need is two redstone dust two redstone repeaters to read Stinkum para doors to hoppers three droppers one sticky piston One rail one minecart hopper two chests and 64 blocks of your choice now the first thing that we need to do is dig a 2 wide by 6 long by 3 deep hole so let’s go ahead and do that now so 2 wide so 1 2 and now it’s already 1 so it’s new dig 5 more blocks back so 1 2 3 4 5 6 so that’s 6 long and then just dig one to the left here and then just dig back to the start now dig this down 2 more layers And we have our 3d pole now now you want to come to the front here and at this bottom right block dig that out and we’re going to place a chest down there I’m going to place a hopper on top of the chest now make sure you’re crouching When you place this or you’ll be opening up the chest so just simply place it like that on top of the hopper we’re going to place it rail and then put your minecart hopper on top of that just behind the hopper here we’re going to place a redstone comparator and this is Going to detect when an item goes through this hopper here we want the signal of this comparator here to go into a dropper here so what we want to do is in front of this comparator in a place a drop of facing upwards then we’re going to make it facing towards The back there and then we want to place one here which is facing into this dropper here get your remaining hopper and what we’re going to do is place it on top of this dropper here just make sure you’re crouching again or you’ll be opening up and the funnel should be Facing downwards at the back here we’re going to place a redstone comparator and this is basically going to check if there’s an item in this dropper here if there is we’re going to output a signal which is going to go into this block here to the left of that block you’re Going to place one piece of redstone dust then in front of it place another block we’re going to put two redstone repeaters here going towards the front at the end here place a block and a piece of redstone dust on top to the left of this redstone we’re going to Place a sticky piston facing upwards so an easy way to place this is simply to come on top here Crouch and then right-click the comparator at the bottom there and it should place the sticky piston and then on top of the sticky piston place a block of your choice and Finally in this bottom dropper here where this hopper is we’re going to place a block inside there and then you’ll notice that the piston has extended all right I’m going to cover this up now so I’m just gonna make this look a little bit better so I’m going to Place a block there there there then want to create basically a wall around that block behind here or we’re going to do is simply a cover this back up with dirt and then this is where you want to place your chest so place it there and then You can also encapsulate it in wood just so you don’t see you know see any of the background surroundings when this piston has retracted so let’s go ahead and test it out now throw your block down there in front and as you can see the chest is Now revealed now I just made a mistake there if you actually want to place a block above the chest here you have to place something that is not a full block so if you actually go ahead and make a stair or a slab slide might be a little Bit better put a slab on top of the chest there and if you come around the front here now you should be able to open up the chest if it’s a full block you won’t be able to open up the actual chest now you can imagine if you had a wall like this It’s quite unsuspecting you’ve just got a plank and log pattern if you actually throw a block down here though it’s going to retract that piston and it’s going to reveal the chest at the back there so it’s a really cool little contraption that you should definitely build in a multiplayer server to hide Items from your friends now how this contraption actually works is very simple so if we come down here firstly when we throw our item we actually throw out on top of this block here and a cool thing about line cut hoppers is that they’ll actually suck items above this Block here so anything that’s thrown above there is hopper or this line cut hopper will suck it down then basically this item hopper sucks it out of the the minecart here and puts it into that chest when an item actually passes through that hopper it goes into that Comparator and we can’t really see it but it goes it sends out a signal through that comparator into this dropper here and what we’ve got here is a T flip-flop switch so basically every time you power it it’s going to turn on or off and then that sends out a signal Through this comparator which then powers is redstone powers these two repeaters and then we powers this redstone which allows this piston here to extend and retract each time we put an item down so if you’re throwing in opens up we throw another one in it Closes so guys it’s going to end up this redstone tutorial today if you enjoyed make sure you hit like button if you have any suggestions for redstone tutorials let me know in the comments because they have taken
