Here’s how it works two teams will face off i will build a creation for each team i will do my absolute best for the team’s build however the teams will be given a set of unique parameters out of my control including plot size block type accent color lighting biome time of Day and the building theme this isn’t all fun games though there are winners and there are losers and by the end of this episode you will be one of those because before we start you the viewer are going to pick a side right now red team or yellow team your choice Is locked in let’s begin I’m very excited to get this first installment on the road and just on cue my air conditioner outside turns on we got two teams right here we got the red team and we got the yellow team so hopefully you have your team decided already and we’re gonna go ahead and Pick one of them to start with we’re starting with the yellow team okay oops i didn’t mean to do that i just threw it away into the abyss of the creative mode there we go so we have the yellow team here this is game one we’re gonna start gate One this is the plot size we have three settings for the plot size we have the width the height and the length so let’s see what you get the width is going to be nine not bad length is going to be 25 that’s actually the biggest one you can get so quite a Long plot let’s see the height 13. so overall nothing to be concerned about and definitely room to be creative in so these are the building block dispensers over here we got four right here but we actually have a fifth one in the back and how we pick the dispenser is with you guessed It a dispenser so we have five dispensers right in here and we’ll just go ahead and pick which dispenser we’ll choose that’s dispenser number four this allows us to kind of get more uh options in our uh game here a little building challenge so we have these Options in dispenser 4 so the yellow team is going to get one of these building blocks and these stairs represent the type of building block so say you get like the wood is probably the one there’s no wood in that one so there’s wood here and you get like Fences with that you get trapped doors with that but you don’t get all that with like another brick right so some building blocks have more options than others but you also have to remember the color and your color kind of plays into the theme and the biome so there’s a lot of Variables uh when getting your block so just because you get one bad thing doesn’t mean it’s all lower so let’s see what the yellow team gets here in dispenser number four so granted that’s probably the worst one in here um but granite isn’t the end of the story uh You have more parameters like i said so yellow team has granite decent plot size let’s see the time of day sunset so it’s not going to be dark but it’s going to be a little bit dimmer lighting will play a factor we have two dispensers for accent and lighting and This is going to decide them so dispenser number two for the accent color let’s see what the yellow team gets oh and these are the options right here and to describe this one you just kind of um you know say you get blue you want uh you can use all the blocks that Represent the blue color for the most part right let’s see here so you get brown so you got brown and granite you know i don’t know how that’s going to mix i really don’t uh let’s see lighting so lighting you get number two number two for lighting right here uh Number two is not the best one you want for the yellow team but we’ll see redstone torch that’s actually pretty terrible yellow team is looking pretty dull right now they need to step up their game and they only have the theme and the biome to Step it up so we’ll see what they get here i can’t park for not today i’m just gonna swim on over we got four dispensers for each so this is gonna pick our dispenser right here we got dispenser number four so let’s see what biome it is snowy beach snowy beach granite That’s gonna be an interesting one it’s not the end of the world okay um let’s see the theme we got number three for the theme it’s gonna be right on over here all right this is a big one this is my this might be the biggest one besides building block let’s see modern Modern granite you know it could work you could you could find something i don’t know about the redstone torch you know i don’t know about this one it’s gonna be interesting uh it’s definitely gonna involve some creativity there we go and boom we’re here so yellow team has this work cut out for Them for sure now let’s see the red team they’re gonna be in the same boat so they’re going to go through the same process let’s see width 19 uh length five oh so a little bit limiting that’s the smallest one you get is five it’s nineteen five and nine It’s a little bit awkward plot size for the red team nothing too concerning but they’re definitely gonna be within some limitations for sure so we got dispenser number one for the red team here let’s see what the red team gets these are their options so you got some Dark ones you got some grays you got some wood you got some brick the only one in here that i would say i don’t want is the purple stairs so let’s see what you get you got polished deep slate stairs this is a nice one that’s really flexible you Can kind of go old with that one you could kind of go modern you can you can do a lot with it and there’s not a lot you can’t do without it so let’s see the time of day mornings the sun’s going to be fully out It’s just going to be earlier in the day so that’s good that means lighting won’t play that big of a factor um obviously lighting is always going to play a factor so you got number two for accent colors let’s see what you get you got blue okay so blue and those deep slate Whatever’s ah you know it’s gonna be interesting uh when you get the biome in the theme for sure so let’s see what you get for lighting you got number one okay let’s see lantern that’s a great one a great flexible one um you know what blue went great with The soul lantern the blue lantern but i if i was the red team i would not be complaining i just cannot make that jump right there all right we’re gonna make this happen hold on here we go yep yep yep that’s what we do all right number one so number one For the biome let’s see what you get red team you got the badlands okay so this is gonna be interesting i’m definitely interested to see what the theme is you got number four here let’s see what the red team ends up with abstract i like it i like the red team Setup i’m not gonna lie the yellow team and red team are gonna have interesting builds this is a great first episode i’m liking what i’m seeing right here so let’s go ahead and jump whoop let’s go ahead and literally jump into the build challenge all right so we’re starting off with the Yellow team uh just try and get the shape of the structure down i think i’m just trying to go for a modern sort of house uh with the granite and with the brown accent and it’s a pretty nice plot i mean the uh the snowy beach i believe it was is uh An interesting biome and it kind of goes off of whatever biome is snow i believe and that has a beach so it’s not necessarily too unique but as you can see here we have a little island that’s completely snowy beach biome and so i decided to go with that for the yellow team And the brown accent block that i liked the most for a modern build was this mushroom block as you can see right in front of us here and with accent colors you can use whatever glass pane matches the accent color and so these are brown glass panes Which is why i can use them and this brown block here this brown mushroom block has a nice texture for the modern theme that we’re going for here because it’s it’s nice and calm but it has a little bit of texture um you know nothing too crazy though and i Think it fits the modern theme really well if you try to go for the modern theme with like the granite block um solely it would just be very ugly i mean it you could pull something off but it just won’t look like any sort of build whatsoever And it’ll just look bland and the grand is not the best building block to have but we’re trying to make it work i also like this mushroom block because it kind of complements the granite in a way and so the plot size here is actually wrong i have my notes right Here let me pull it out so we have a width of 9 a length of 25 and a height of 13 for the yellow team and here i’m just filling the floor here with old granite and you can see those big windows in that hallway right there that’s a really Nice spot for big windows just like in real life you want big windows and tight spaces to open up the space and that’s where i fixed the plot size and i realized i had extra space on the side there and so just trying to figure out what works best on that side maybe You know i need to fill it out because that’s the idea of the plot size is that you need to fill it out to at least reach all points of the edge of the plot and so i i wanted a balcony and so i’m trying to make a balcony work here And uh it’s looking a little bit blocky but this is the great thing about builds is that you always start with a rough sketch and you refine it down until it looks good and so i put stairs in the bomb and here you can see i’m using the glass panes It’s kind of railing with the granite wall and it’s a little bit blocky so i had these stairs to actually go along with the glass pane really nicely um and that looks good to me right there for modern build it has a really nice view off to the uh Off to the ocean there and i think this is where i kind of lost the build for the yellow team um of course we’re not we’re not done judging or anything but what i mean by losses i just kind of lost the feng shui i was just kind of trying to make it Work and i was doing my best because to be fair to the yellow team i did think the plot size was shorter but at the end of the day it did i don’t think it would have changed to build much uh if at all um and here’s some interior decorating And yeah just so just to recap like the top part of the build here it’s not my favorite um i don’t know how i could have extended it better in hindsight And here i’m just kind of decorating the room and with any build i i like to have a story i like to try to have a story and the the stories kind of form as you’re making the build so what i really liked about this build i think What kind of pushed it uh to that next level was the theme the realistic theme like say you’re in the actual you know server with somebody and say they like to create music and so you have the jukebox you have no blocks you make the music with the note blocks And you have the cds or the not the cassettes but the what’s the big cds that are old i forgot the name um vinyls is that it um yes this guy produces these uh cds or vinyls or whatever and this is like a studio and that’s so That’s kind of like the story here i try to make something happen with the floor here because i didn’t i thought it was a little too bland that’s what i ended up going with and he liked shrubs and so i thought that was a interesting building we’ll go back at The end after we look at the red team and look at both the builds in detail and give our rating to the builds so for the red team here um let’s see what the plot size is right here we got a width of 19 a length of five and a height of nine So a relatively uh small was it with a length relatively small length for the uh the red team here and um that is restrictive but you know what really helped the red team out is the theme here and that’s abstract and so with the abstract theme you can really have whatever you want You can create like a house that is abstract you can create just the art piece that is abstract and i think that’s kind of what i did here i just kind of started laying down the blocks i think the blocks really suited the abstract theme fairly nicely and along with the biome i Think they match fairly well and here i was trying to decide do these coral blocks count because when you place a coral block it actually uh does not stay the color that you place it um it changes like a dead sort of coral block i was thinking Does that count because i did place it as a blue block and just turned into a great block but i decided that no it has to be blue throughout the build in order for it to count as a blue accent block for the challenge anyways I ended up going with uh these two by four structures with the slate and these two by two structures that you see i’m building right now for the uh blue accent and wool ended up being the blue block of choice for the accent color and I think i’m just trying to get all nice and balanced with these two elements and just try and go off that you know it’s abstract and i think the the badlands biome is actually the perfect biome for uh this sort of abstract art piece that i’m going for I think it really complements the uh the biome really complements the build and i didn’t like how the wall was touching the sand there so i just knocked it off as you can see but i like the way it’s going so far so i’m adding in these walls for a different sort of Uh layer of the art piece i’m trying to get something for the blue as well maybe glass paints i’m thinking here and i ended up not going with the glass panes um oh and that that last piece right there really balanced out the walls throughout the building like that last touch i had Right there but these glass panes are interesting because it’s hard to see them as a pillar like the walls and i ended up saying you know what that’s fine i don’t really need them to be too obvious throughout the build i just need them to be there so i’m trying to find them Find out the right spots to where they don’t attach themselves to the blocks and i find the spots right here and they’re all nice and spaced out all right so we have the yellow team here this is the build i’m gonna go ahead do a little fly around So modern was the theme it looks a little bit like a castle but with the block types that we had i think that was the best direction we could have gone while sticking to that sort of modern theme as you can see on the top here i Went ahead and went with some dirt and some shrubs here kind of like those in real life modern houses with those grass tops i thought this was a funny way of representing that in this build and i put the shrubs on the corner here to kind of add to um It fills out the plot height actually this is dirt this is the 13th layer right here so it fills out the plot but also adds a nice little layer right on top here to make it not look so flat of course i like it but I i like the way it turned out and of course the air conditioner always kicks on at the perfect time but anyways let’s let’s go inside let’s check it out from the inside the idea of the story behind this right is that it’s a studio for someone who Likes music they create the music with note blocks they finalize it in the jukebox or whatever no actually the jukebox is for playing the music so they create the music on the note blocks they store the vinyls or whatever they create and these barrels over here and whenever They want to give something listen they just put in jukebox right there and that’s their little studio and this is their little uh studio back room you know their little bedroom here in case they want to spend the night in the studio get that creative um space i don’t know But this is sort of the idea and of course the redstone lining is hard to put in the modern build but i think it looks good the way it is Um and this guy again is a big fan of dead brush or shrubs or whatever these things are called and so he has them all around the house and so that’s kind of the idea with this build if i had to give it a rating and i and i Do have to give it a rating out of 10 right i’m going to be very critical of my work here i’m going to be very honest too and i’m going to give this one a solid 5 out of 10. and you know it’s right in the middle i Think it could have gone a lot worse but with the blocks that we had i think we did a really good job with the first story at the very least and i i do kind of like the castle way that it sort of created itself on The top here overall i think five’s a fair rating for the yellow team it was a tough one and so if you get if you had the yellow team i think i’d be happy with a five given what the parameters were for this build but let’s Go ahead and hop over to the red team okay so this is the red team’s build and i gotta say the setup is really nice for the red team and the execution i do like as well i mean i really like this abstract structure i went for It could have gone in so many directions but it definitely went in a nice direction right here it doesn’t seem too compact it feels nice and open as you can see kind of has a flow to it flows from here towards the focal point and then your eye leads towards over here And you have this nice open space and you have this nice ending here nothing too drastic nothing to uh noisy it really just fits in this biome so nicely i like the blue with the orange contrast and then these clay bricks in the background really nice setting The coolest part about this build to me is the fact that it’s open for interpretation and as as simple as it is i think that adds another dimension to the build and i didn’t mention it a little bit before but if you want pause the video and take a look at this You know at this build here and try to find out some meaning behind it for yourself you know what what do you think this build means because i as i was building it i did think about some things and uh i’ll spoil a couple things here And there for you but if you find out somewhat of the meaning uh but go ahead and pause the video and give it a shot but i’m just going to show you guys a couple of things that i tried to pronounce throughout this build and one thing was All these blue cubes are always paired up as you can see here except for this one and and this is only one that is not paired up and it is also the only one that has the slate walls going up and the blue glass going down whereas everywhere else in the build It’s the opposite the blue glass is going up everywhere and the the slate is going down and so i think that you can create a lot of meaning in in there kind of like some sort of conflict i feel like that’s going on but this all works together so well that I think it creates some sort of unity if that makes any sense that’s my sort of interpretation for it i’m interested to hear your guys’s interpretation so if you want to leave that in the comments go ahead and also another point that i did not mention before Is that you know you have these two by four slate structures and these are also always paired these two are paired these two are paired down here these two are paired and these these two may not be intertwined but they are touching you see and this is the only one that is Separated from every pair and it is connected to the other pairs or um to the entire art piece uh depending on your point of view with the focal point here of this sort of cube of a glass block and i really like how that kind of brings the Art creation to not only another dimension but like a third dimension you know it’s just more and more and while looking at this structure for yourself you may notice something um that i haven’t even noticed even though i created it and i think that is so cool for these abstract Builds or any builds that are just kind of left open for interpretation my rating for the red team is going to be 8.5 out of 10. they beat the yellow team congratulations red team let me know what you think if if the uh yellow team’s build was better in your Opinion let me know but i just think that this killed it with the with the biome the contrasting blue here we got the whole getup and so that’s going to be it for today’s build challenge and i hope to see you guys in the next Video Information
