No Slime-Chunk, SLIME FARM – Minecraft Guru 4 – Minecraft Survival Let’s Play

Today I’m going to be building a slime farm however instead of using a slime chunk for this I want to try something new and build it in a swamp before we start I think it is a good time to work on my nether portal Network as the Swamp

Is quite a bit distance away from me as much as it is a nice scenic view boating to the swamp it takes a whole five minutes and Raj ain’t got time for that first I gotta move these villagers I honestly wouldn’t care but I got a villager with so touch and one with

Mending so I need to keep them at least until I get my villager trading haul up and working I gotta transport them back to my base this always goes poorly for me of course to do this I had to place down boats close enough for the

Villagers to get in them and then I got to be a Gondolier and rode them back to the nether portal back to the Village the villagers were a bit close so sometimes there would be two villagers in a boat but it was very easy to Corral

Them into the boats it was a bit harder towards the end as they kept getting in corners and couldn’t place the boats down and when it got down to the last villager I just chose violence once I was done all there was left was three iron golems for the nether portal

Network I want to try to build it in the nether instead of on the nether ceiling like my previous swirled I have a cool idea in mind for this but I just needed to be functional at this point so it ain’t got to be pretty looking if I

Remember the trick is to build this higher in the nether around y layer 110 and I’m going to build it with Cobblestone so it won’t get destroyed by gas first I had to put in all the nether portals in the Overworld at locations I wanted to get to quicker the ancient

City was a good spot to choose I hadn’t explored it yet and I think the best armor trim is found in the ancient city next was of course the swamp and a slime farm after that was the Badlands for the sweet red sand Sandstone terracotta and color terracotta while I was doing this

I kept track of the coordinates you just have to divide the X inside coordinates by eight and place it in the spot in the nether next was the desert for sand sand has to be one of the most useful blocks I mean glass Sandstone TNT and concrete

Can be made from it I did the next one near a Pillager Outpost if I ever decide to use that as a farm next was the jungle I think I have a lot of items I need from the jungle already like bamboo jungle saplings and cocoa beans I guess

It could be useful if I ever want to pair it after that I had to mine upwards to find The Sweet Spot at Wyler 110 then just mining through the Netherrack and of course the terrifying part of placing the Cobblestone while sneaking with the worst case scenario B that you forget to

Hold shift and fall into lava destroying all your gear that didn’t happen of course but it could have mining through a basal Delta biome to get that Basalt that I don’t have plans for but always nice to have random blocks after all that I just had to place the nether

Portals make sure they transfer support me to the right nether portal in the Overworld this is the finished result and as I said earlier it ain’t pretty eventually it will be but it works for this slime farm I’m going to need tinted glass I don’t need it for this Farm but

I like tinted glass and any chance I can use it I’m going to take it for this Farm I’m going to need 460 tinted glass for one layer now I’m doing five layers so I need over 2 000 blocks of tinted glass that’s a spicy meatball I mean a

Spicy tinted glass because I need so much amethyst shards for the tinted glass I need to use multiple amethyst geodes luckily while I was exploring the caves I found another geode this one is a lot closer to where my base is so it should grow faster the only thing I have

To worry about is getting too excited and accidentally mining a buddy amethyst block which I almost did there the second geode also is a lot smaller than the other one so I’m not going to get a lot of amethyst shards out of this so just a reminder if you need it for the

Amethyst shards you want to mine it at the fourth stage when it’s at its biggest I have a fortune pickaxe with no enchantments it drops four and with fortune 3 you can get between 8 to 16 shards usually about eight for the tinted glass you can need four amethyst

Shards and a piece of glass to get two tinted glass it took me a lot of time to get the shards required for the farm it took a couple of hours for the Geo to regrow the amethyst cluster I had to actually mine out the geodes a couple of

Times also for this Farm I’m going to need a lot of brown mushrooms for the platforms this means I need a lot of bone meal to grow the brown mushrooms I did the old trick of putting chest on top of Hoppers pointing into composters into Hoppers into chest to create bone

Meal luckily I built a melon and pumpkin farm in the previous episode so I had a lot of stuff to put into the composters it gave me a good amount of bone meal for the brown mushrooms I need to place them on a spot under a light level of 12

And covered by a block so no Sky access then just apply bone meal to them Brown mushroom blocks only drop zero to two brown mushrooms I have to use a lot of bone meal to get enough mushrooms we’re probably talking thousands for this Farm now let’s get down to brass tacks I have

No idea what that means but it sounds serious here is a spot where I’m going to be building the Slime swamp Farm the main thing is trying to reduce the possibility of spawning other mobs placing the farm in the middle of water gives the mobs less blocks to spawn on

I’m going to be digging down for this to give me the most amount of space to work with so let’s do a time lapse thank you Foreign Hole I cleared it goes down to level 44. I only needed to go down to level 51 as that is the lowest level the slimes can spawn in the swamp but I wanted space to build a collection system here is the supplies for the farm I’m going to be

Building you can see I have a lot of brown mushrooms tinted glass fence posts iron blocks carved pumpkins campfire Hoppers andesite slabs and even more of this that takes up a couple of chests plus there are other blocks like deep slate bricks I think that is enough

Talking and now let’s get down to building the Slime swamp Farm foreign Foreign Thank you explain how this Farm works I built these platforms covered in brown mushrooms the reason is all the other Hostile Mobs only spawn at total darkness or light level zero slimes in the swamp biome spawn between 0 to 7 light level so as long as you light up

The area above level one only slimes can spawn in that area brown mushrooms give off a light level of one and mobs can spawn on them in the swamp slime spawn between layers 51-69 in the middle of the farm is the iron golems that the Slime soil path find towards and fall

Down the middle at the bottom is a water stream leading to a campfire that kills the slimes and there’s Hoppers underneath to collect the Slime balls and put them into chests I should also mention this Farm design is by El mango if you want a full design and an

Understanding of the technical side of this Farm check out the video that is linked in the description it’s hard to see but there are slime spawning in there so it is definitely working at the moment however even though the slimes are spawning in there this Farm isn’t completely working properly I made some

Modifications to suit myself so problem number one is I made the platforms of dirt I was just using the block I had the most of unfortunately this isn’t a good block to use as the Enderman can remove dirt blocks so there can be random holes in the farm problem number

Two is that all the Iron Golems have disappeared I assume this is because I didn’t put anything to block the slimes from jumping on top of them at the moment the farm doesn’t work without iron golems I just have to place more blocks so this won’t happen again the

Only problem is I need I think 180 iron ingots to replace the Iron Golems I really need to eventually build an iron farm even though it needs some adjustments just to show you that it is working or at least was working when there was iron golems in it I was able

To get four stacks of slime balls from it just think how much I can get when it is actually working properly I should also mention the third mistake I made which is making the spawning area three blocks high this means that spiders can spawn in the area where the Slime spawn

I’m not going to fix this right now but the way to do this would be to place slabs on the ceiling to make it two and a half blocks tall then spiders couldn’t spawn now I just have to head back to the caves and fix a few problems with

The farm then we can get an idea of how many slime balls I can get from it well after that I headed back to the giant cave near my base and got some iron ore even though I’ve explored the cave a lot whenever I go through it I find some

Iron ore that I’ve completely missed or areas that I haven’t been to before it took a bit of time to get all the iron ore but having a fortune through pickaxe cuts down that time a lot once I was done I just had to put more fences

Around the sides of the Iron Golems so they wouldn’t die from slimes jumping off the top rope I just had to put all the Iron Golems back into their slots after that I ran the slime farm for about 40 minutes to see how much I could

Get I got about half a double chest I don’t have any projects that need that much slime but I will be using it for sticky pistons and some slime blocks now I can build some flying machines for Farms or a villager trading Hall that is all for this episode thank you guys for
