Welcome to Minecraft Monthly! It’s the only show that exists on Youtube, as far as I know. Today’s top stories: We’ll be showing a snifflet hatching from an egg in Minecraft for the very first time. Minecraft becomes spacecraft with this new NASA collaboration. And we’re going to reveal a ten-year-old bug that has finally been fixed. Well, hello there! I’m Vu Bui and today on Minecraft Monthly we’re going to make history by showing the birth of a snifflet for the first time ever. But please, try to refrain from throwing eggs at the screen. Especially if you’re still bitter about the rascal losing to it in the mob vote. Oh yeah, did I mention that it’s coming soon in Preview Beta, and Java Snapshot? You’ll be able to find sniffer eggs in suspicious sand in warm ocean ruins. What could be easier? Or more suspicious? This sniffer egg will hatch at some point during the show. If you place it on a moss block it goes even faster. So let’s go to our 24/7 egg cam! Has it hatched yet? I really need my lapt… Okay! Let’s get emotional now! Emotes are one my favourite Minecraft Bedrock Edition features. They let you do things like wave to other players. But if you’re emoting and no one’s looking at you, no one would know you’re emoting, which is truly tragic. That’s why we’ve updated them! Emotes now appear in the chat too, so no one can miss them. The new emote wheel has room for four emotes instead of six to make it easier to use. You can now hotkey your emotes so it’s swifter than ever to select an emote in-game or use the four default emotes that are auto equipped. Breaking news! The sniffer egg is about to break open! Let’s quickly go back to the egg livestream! Whoops! That’s obviously the wrong footage. We’ll have more sniffer egg updates soon. As soon as we hire a new “Minecraft Monthly”-editor. Let’s talk about what’s been happening in the community. This month saw the conclusion of Squid Craft Games 2. A massive PVP tournament where over 200 streamers competed. Congratulations to the creators El Rubius and Ibai Llanos, and everyone else setting up this amazing event. By comparison, I only succeeded in setting up the first, and apparently last annual Mojang Studios Connect 4 tournament. -Yes! I win! -Shh! I’m trying to watch an egg hatch! Another big event that went down last week was the MC Championship. Well done, by everyone participating. We were very impressed with what we saw in the competitions. Apparently, finally, the ten-year-old bug press conference is about to start! What bug is it? And what’s taken so long? Anna! You’re on mute! Anyway, we’ll get back to her. Let’s talk accessibility! We’ve made some big improvements to our accessibility features in the Java Edition 1.19.4 release. One of the highlights in every respect of the word is the new high contrast mode. Another highlight is the new accessibility onboarding screen. It makes these accessibility settings, well, more accessible. Let’s talk about Minecraft in space! An out-of-this-world, new DLC has rocketed into Minecraft. We’ve collaborated with NASA for Artemis: Rocket Build. Explore blocky labs and build a rocket, capable of taking astronauts to the Moon. This DLC is inspired by the upcoming NASA Artemis missions, which will land the first woman and first person of colour on the Moon, and explore much more of the Moon’s surface than ever before. They’ll also try to pave the way for another exciting mission: Sending the first astronauts to Mars. Anyway, if NASA are able to communicate with astronauts hurtling through space, surely we can fix the sound at the press conference. Anna, what is this bug? For ten long years this bug has been a scourge in the glorious Minecraft codebase. Today we defeat this bug and civilisation begins a new era. -Yes? -So, what is this bug? Two words, my friend: Horse breeding. Oh, that old bug! The bug was that if you bred to horses with amazing stats, it was unlikely that the foal they produced would have stats that exceeded them. Like, really unlikely, basically impossible. Sorry, foals. But now we’ve finally fixed that! Now there’s a decent chance your fantastic foal will have superior stats to its parents. It’ll make its parents proud! Proud, and obsolete. Now, you might be wondering why it took us so long to fix this bug. I’ll let Anna answer that. -Thanks, Vu, but I think you’ve got this. -No, no. I insist. Thanks! There’s a perfectly logical explanation for this. Basically… The egg is about to hatch! And just like that, a new Minecraft mob is born, the adorable snifflet. Hey there, little one. A couple of birthday tips for you. Never dig straight down, and refrain from offering creepers any hugs! I guess that goes for the rest of you out there as well. See you next month! Video Information
