Hello I’m aviax toy cat and a brand new beta just came out for Minecraft bedrock and it brings with it the brand new Cherry Grove biome it brings with it the Finnish Soul version of archeology that will affect Java and Bedrock players but it also brings with it a Brand’s new Death screen oh and also something called editor mode it turns out that leak was real and you can play with it today this Bedrock beta is absolutely massive and that’s before considering the brand new editor mode and so to dive into all of it as quickly as possible Let’s go a little bit faster today and mention wow there is the brand new Cherry Grove biome looks great but this is something we saw in Java already and so all of these blocks which Minecraft are showing off like this with the beautiful Village do look nice here is The version that Harrison has made to show off all of the new blocks I think this looks much better and wow look how many building blocks there are this is a great update for Builders Builders Paradise for an update but the big question is how does the Cherry Grove Biome work on bedrock and the answer to that is I figured I’d load up the same seed before and after the update this is me loading up my let’s play seed everything in the current day version of Minecraft as you can see there is a jungle at spawn and then when we Teleport Port after digging through a mountain we end up over here in a meadow with a forest and a plane spine right next to it but if we load up the exact same seed but in the preview you’ll see how the spawn is exactly the same there Is a brand new biome but it hasn’t shifted around all the existing ones instead they’ve done something clever where if we actually do teleport to minus 1500 and then the same coordinates as before you’ll see how we’ll probably still spawn underground and that’s a whole fun thing uh but in the exact same Location on the exact same seed wow what used to be a meadow biome and partially a forest I think it’s overwritten that has now become the Cherry Grove biome it looks as though most of the space that the meadow previously took up is now replaced with the Cherry Grove this Actually has a downside you know this way of generating things is really good in terms of keeping existing seeds 99 of seeds will be exactly the same with basically uh no differences till you go thousands of blocks out or hundreds of blocks out uh but the one cool thing the One downside of this is it now means that those are going to be less common because they’re being overwritten with this in fact most of the mountain biomes are going to get a little bit less common whichever ones the Cherry Grove is working in the space off is going to Go down a little bit and that is very interesting it has to be said also very interesting is yeah we now have these new biomes on Bedrock which means we can do some proper comparisons and I definitely intend to do that but for now you can see this is what it looks like It’s a beautiful Old Cherry Grove biome and now you know how to find one use the seed everything and come to these coordinates that’s the very same seed I use in my let’s play world so that’s a very interesting trade-off and another interesting trade-off is the one regarding archeology when archeology First came out it came to a snapshot and a beta but they looked entirely different this is what it looked like on Java this is what it looked like on bedrock and so now the Bedrock preview has confirmed which version is meant to be official uh not only for that but Also for the decorated part so this is what the brand new brush recipe is this is confirmed to be the same on both versions but this is the new way that you dig suspicious sand as you can see it now works basically like the Java version where there is some sand left Behind and you’re just digging the suspiciousness outfit which is funny to say you know you can’t take the sand out the suspiciousness but you can take the suspicious out of the sand but also you can do with this update is you can now lock you can now connect suspicious sand To fence blocks this is something precisely zero people have wanted but again it’s all about fixing bugs which is very important speaking of fixing bugs last week’s beta was one of the most disappointing ones ever all they did was take away the one and a half block sneaking and they’ve decided to Re-add it in this update so there’s a brand new toggle in the menu when you turn that on you can now again sneak under 1.5 blocks this is something that is unlikely to make it into 1.20 based on the fact that it’s a separate toggle or at the very least they’re not Committing to making it in there which is fascinating and the lack of armor trims in this update tells us they’re probably focusing their resources on making that happen but not focusing their resources on sneaking because that can happen at any point whereas the trims are very much on the deadline of When Tails and Trails comes out speaking of Tails and Trails this is only a beta but they gave us some very direct feedback about what they plan to do with it and they mentioned the design goal and the fact that this is actually intentional okay so I think I’m gonna Die if I go through one more thing without getting to this editor mode because I’m so excited but we have to quickly first mention wow there is a new screen for me when that happens to me I think it looks really great on mobile devices this is the new respawn screen Uh as you can see looks great with that mobile UI I think on Windows and other devices it looks exactly fine it’s very clean if nothing else I think it’s a really great idea and it’s something they’re rolling out as a design preview uh this is something I would expect to Be in 1.20 if I was in charge but when it comes to UI and changes like that these can tend to take upwards of a year to actually end up in the game so we’ll see how this actually goes so also you can turn this off by going into the Settings also they’ve made some parity changes in this update including a brand new noise for weighted fresh plates and also melons and pumpkins can now grow onto mud pod Soul rooted and muddy Mangrove Roots very good news for those of you who have a melon or pumpkin farm And a mangrove swamp Okay that’s probably not the most consequential thing but one of the most consequential things has to be the fact that they have decided to add the Cherry Grove biome before adding the armored trims both of these things they said they had to delay On Bedrock for technical reasons and it blows my mind that the Cherry Grove a whole brand new biome was easier to add than the Armor Trims on Bedrock so hopefully there are just some UI issues of making that work on mobile or something along those lines uh hopefully They’ve got a really good great elegant Bedrock solution who knows for sure but that is the last major feature missing from the Bedrock edition if you’re curious about where job was going during all of this they’re currently trying to pre-release 1.19.4 still so it’s going To be a while till we actually see the update uh you know in terms of new snapshot stuff and the final part of archeology and all the uh you know the final refinements to existing features we’re mostly going to be seeing bug fixes so expect to see a lot more of Stuff like oh they have made it so that camels now stop dashing when entering a rideable entity which you know makes sense or you know cooking chorus fruit in a furnace will now generate experience there are lots of things like this that it’s important to get right For an update however the big thing they’re doing on Bedrock only that seems to be a big technical work is working on editor modes so what is editor mode and how does it work allow me to walk you through me installing this for the first time myself okay so we’re going to right Click on the desktop we’re gonna press new and then we’re going to go to shortcut then after we’ve uh made ourselves a shortcut which you know look at this my my character over there he’s looking at it he’s trying to see what’s happening uh you want to type in uh the Minecraft like you know like Minecraft the game I think it has to be all lowercase actually Minecraft question mark wait colon question mark editor equals true I think okay that’s not how you spell true okay so once you’ve typed in Minecraft colon explanation mark editor equals True then you can press next and then what would you like to name this shortcut editor mode Minecraft or Minecraft editor mode you know how about we just type Minecraft on both of sides to be sure so that’s the Minecraft editor mode Minecraft shortcut and now on your desktop below Minecraft below Your your steam page you’ll find Minecraft editor mode Minecraft okay I don’t know how it took me that long to find it it’s right over here we could give it a new image if we wanted to um and you know let’s do that okay there aren’t many icons we can actually use we Have to find our own that’s that’s not very fun okay so now go to your desktop and find your Minecraft editor mode and you’re going to choose to open with something and then you want to pick uh the Minecraft preview and once you do that Minecraft will open up and if we go Back to Minecraft right now it will look exactly like the Minecraft preview you know and love and are used to except it goes straight to this screen there is no menu wait is there a menu can we go back no there is no menu there is just create New project all your worlds will be gone and creating a new project will take you to this screen and everything looks the same except editor mode is applied so editor mode check I mean would you want to be in survival mode in editor mode I don’t imagine so we’re going to go over Creative and we’re going to see what happens this is genuinely my first experience I have no idea how to actually use this we’re going to discover on the Fly oh God this is wacky this is oh geez what am I looking at so as you can see uh first things first we Need to like change the size of this this is so big so there is an option here somewhere UI settings where we can turn down the UI scale there we go and that looks much better some people might be better if you’re on a phone with 150 Or if you don’t have eyes uh some people might like 25. I’m gonna go 50 for now covers a lot of the screen but all of it and then theme dark actually not Redstone oh that’s fun oh you go high contrast or we can go light Oh man this looks like Microsoft Paint I can’t I can’t do that let’s go dark okay so this is the Minecraft editor and it’ll give you the the basics about what’s happening where I feel like I should probably read this so I don’t know what’s happening so you can hold Your right oh this is so wacky okay I you this is blowing my mind right now chat okay so this is Minecraft’s editor mode and to go through the very Basics there’s so much to learn in here more than can reasonably fit into a video uh You can basically uh this is an editor mode because you’re not soon to be playing Minecraft and flying around by default this is probably what you’re used to from spectator mode or something like that uh but it’s actually it’s the again you have to right click and hold To do this if you’re not right clicking it assumes instead you want to look around at blocks you want to change so if you want to play say some Polish Blackstone right over there you just pick a block I mean I’m gonna pick this tree over there and I’m gonna fill it And now as you can see there are now some polished Blackstone stairs um we could uh if we really want you can pick a bunch of blocks at the same time you can pick a whole little selection as you can see and replace all of those at the Exact same time with polished black Sun stairs we’ve never had that level of resolution and editing in regular Minecraft but presumably if we go real crazy on this we could pick a bigger blob so we could go for a five by five by five blob and now instead of picking Areas that are you know like one Cube wide we could pick much bigger cubes so we can oh and look at that we can make this one like that and boom we’ve got a big old set of black uh polished black Sun stairs this is a lot like the fill Command right now you’re probably uh noticing so as you can see it looks like that but we could do much more interesting things if we wanted to because we can physically see what we’re editing first of all that’s a big difference maker in my opinion but also We can take absolutely huge cubes and then pick multiple of these huge cubes okay so actually you have to reset this every single time which maybe defeats some of the the efficiency gains but the fact that you can just go go around here and pick like this and from a distance You can start to see all of your blocks becoming cherry wood is that gonna be in here yeah Cherry Cherry trap doors you can do that and wow okay the there are no Cherry blocks in this update so there are update blocks but yeah there is now An editor mode where as you can see you can do whoa they’re they’re weird blocks but there is now an editor mode where you can do stuff from above oh it knows it’s a cherry trap door it just can’t do anything about that that’s very Interesting to me so yeah this is a mode made for editing blocks and if you’re not impressed so far you’re just saying I can do everything this is done in Creative in probably the same time with less confusing interfaces uh allow us to now go to I mean there’s copy paste here Uh Minecraft’s copy base function has really sucked for a while but there’s also a brush function which is probably the thing most people are excited about so let’s go of Holo and let’s um I know it’s a fun block I really like concrete so let’s go of concrete and we probably Should have picked more specific but you can now as you can see just brush around and play so many blocks so quickly this is a revolution if you want to you know make something huge because if you want to replace this Forest of a big pathway You can just do like this and as you can see it now isn’t infinitely it now is an infinite sign roughly okay there’s some there’s some holes isn’t my idea because it’s not a flat surface but isn’t that fun isn’t that insane also what does Face mode mean I have no clue um but yeah you can do some really really wacky like you know like if you want to get spammy on it you can do stuff like that wow look at that we just made a really complicated looking structure that’s Huge and we did it quickly a lot of people actually have some concerns about this because now previously uh Minecraft had you know Minecraft console edition there was basically no way to make a build without block by Block doing it a lot of people love that and then when Minecraft Bedrock came out you could make giant structures easily but adding the resolution is hard you still need you know like a really comfortable for that but now you can make a giant build in the space of seconds if you want to now let’s add some more decoration to That like some bamboo uh some bamboo blocks let’s say in much smaller uh brush sizes now now what we can do is okay we can’t use bamboo blocks well let’s use some Mangrove wood that’s gotta work right if it doesn’t I don’t know what what would now we can use These Mangrove planks to add some extra resolution and detail wow look how how beautiful my mess is but the point is you wouldn’t be able to make a mess this size without using a serious amount of time before and now you can with editor mode so in theory this will make for Better Marketplace stuff eventually who knows how long it takes people to really take full advantage of it but right now it is just a little bitter it’s a fun thing and right now you know the full potential of it is going to be hard to see I mean like okay Quick Fill there’s A there’s so many different options we have available to us and honestly it is going to be something that is even bigger later and later once you’re done with something you can export it into a playable World which I know what that looks like okay apparently you just Press export and it’s all done that’s nice so this is huge and it’s hard to show you exactly why but let me let me try anyway right now let’s make ourselves a giant statue uh that previously would take a lot of different commands and let’s do it with one okay So this uh you tell me when you spot what you’re seeing right here because I’m gonna be honest I’m not I’m not sure editor mode uh is made of my skill set in mind okay I just place a bunch up over here and then we’re gonna need to Go on the right and left okay there we go on one side we’re good and on the other side are we good no we’re not we gotta Place some blocks over there okay looking looking great so far now we just bring the brush slides down we make it black Um instead look at this look at this that’s that’s me you might not believe that but that is my ocelot skin perfectly recreated in 3D in a matter of seconds but no yeah look look you know to build a build that bad would take so much time and effort that you wouldn’t Do it because it’s too bad and I just did that quite easily so yeah there’s gonna be a lot of changes in the Minecraft space and honestly I think a lot of them will be positive but there is another change now to the you know one of the big comments that Jeb himself Made one of the playbooks for Minecraft is Minecraft is not an editing tool but I mean clearly he hasn’t played Bedrock because wow look at this we can just change Dimension a little look at that so simple uh we can we can fix the we can change actors we can you know turn Off the night cycle a lot easier and well look at this can we build above the never no we still can’t okay let’s not go ridiculous I guess well let’s test huge okay no you can’t that’s interesting so yeah you can you can replace the the Bedrock with stone in very odd ways but you can’t build on top of the never even in editor mode but yeah isn’t that fun I think it’s fun and if you disagree then you’re not fun it is is absolutely crazy to me that this week we not only got all Of the normal 1.20 beta stuff but also editor mode came out that must have been in the works hidden for a very long time and somehow only Roger badgeman knew about it absolutely crazy stuff I do have to say and I do think that editor mode is going to revolutionize stuff Because I was just playing around with it and in the first five minutes I worked out to do some big stuff I bet there’ll be some insane revolutions that really changed what it means to make a Minecraft build My overall take is that it’s a good thing for them to release Even though it’s controversial because like what is building now uh because Minecraft edit mcedit has existed on Java for a really long time and so what people do right now is they just make a Java world then convert it over it’s too much complexity and I’m glad Minecraft Are making a first party tool because then more people can play around with the creativity sure it’s going to revolutionize things and we move into a new world but I think that’s a good thing because it’s going to unlock all new sorts of creativity hopefully for the betterment of URI as Minecraft Players or maybe you go the other way and you say nope this is bad I don’t like AI I don’t like the internet I don’t like electricity and instead I just want to be a potato farmer and if you do then have you considered joining my potato farm wow that’s a thing that You can do right now by hitting subscribe and then we’ll Farm potatoes together except my potatoes and videos and your potatoes are I don’t know likes or subscribes or something you know I haven’t worked out the analogy but what I have worked out is that tomorrow I’ll Be live streaming my Nomad run some more so if you want to see what it’s like when I have no stuff because I spent two hours yesterday on the last stream getting my stuff back when I died I am committed to this no based stuff even When it hurts me and if you want to see me not being hurt tomorrow is the right place to see it otherwise thank you for watching and I’ll see you next time I’m gonna go out for the night um I’m going on a going on a train and then getting Off at every stop to go to the local pub it’s gonna be a good time and uh yeah I’ll let you know how that goes tomorrow or I won’t because I’ll be dead one of the two goodbye you can’t end a video like that let me try again Um at all I what I’ll do is I’ll be back tomorrow and I’ll tell you how great my evening want uh you can’t end a video like that so um I’ll see you tomorrow definitely definitely no chances of anything and I’ll I’ll let you know how my great day was tomorrow bye foreign Foreign Video Information
