Tips to Beat a Village Raid in Survival Minecraft

It’s called the village and pillage update for a reason i’m going to teach you a few techniques on how to get through your first raid in survival hey guys it’s chad today we’re taking a look at the village and pillage update kind of the main foundation of this update which is

The fact that you can go get a bad omen effect come back to a village and have to fight off a raid so i’m going to give you a few tips on how to do this in survival so that you don’t mess it up the first

Time so here we are inside of minecraft and we are looking at our village that we are going to want to protect now you’ll be doing all of this in survival but the techniques that i do in creative uh can all easily be done in survival there’s no crazy in-game stuff that we

Are going to be doing we’re just going to be uh making sure we’re just going to be sure i’m just going to be showing you all the steps uh that you need to know uh in order to get this done correctly now the first step that’s going to make things very very

Very easy on you is to actually wait around until the villagers this is the first step is wait around until the villagers all meet up at the meeting spot in this village and this one specifically kind of some weirdness going along with its uh with its

Spawning in fact we may want to find a different village because this may cause us issues later so i’m gonna actually find a different village but then we’re gonna go on to step one okay so we’ve actually found a much better village step zero could be find a good village

Uh this village is much more flat uh and the meeting point is much more accessible and also hey there’s already a column here so that’s uh that’s pretty cool so the first thing that you’re going to want to do is right now i’m in

Creative uh and so my uh my game is not uh ticking uh so do do like cycle true and at uh tick 9000 is when the villagers will come to meet so i’m just going to go ahead and say set time sorry time if i could type time set and then we’re

Going to just do not eight nine nine nine okay and that mean that will be 8999 ticks once we do that you can see that about past noon all of the villagers will start to come together here at the meeting spot and they’re gonna gossip so at that time that’s when

All the villagers come here and you’re going to want to do that so that you can get an idea of which villagers are in your village but then so that’s step number one and we got some uh lollygaggers back here it looks like there’s another meeting spot

Over here so we can tell that uh in this village it looks like we have i think about five villagers we have those two over there this straggler right here and these two guys right here now that they have all met we’re gonna ring the bell

And that is going to force all the villagers into a house and we’re gonna try to watch which house while the time is still going we’re gonna try to watch to see which house they go into uh and so we’ll also be able to uh keep

An eye on the exact number of villagers so this guy’s gonna go into this house and what you do is now that he’s in there okay his little buddy is going to join him as well then oh my gosh buddy get get in there the thing that you might want to do is

Is uh pick up this uh bell and bring it with you uh it should be easily picked up a bowl but get them to go into the house and then block off the house and that will keep them safe as you do all of the rest

Of your building so now okay that one’s blocked off you’d pick up this bell with a pick you’d go find the other villager you’d set it next to him and you’d ring it go the heck in there once he’s in there you’d block him off come on let’s go

Okay it’s getting dark here we got that one guy get in the house oh my gosh come on you know you wanna you know you wanna get in the freaking house there we go there’s still one more villager out here somewhere i’ve only counted

Aha there he is oh he’s a nitwit he can die who cares um so now that they are all hopefully inside of a house That’s in his way get into a home nice okay the first night is already here you’re also going to want to check the homes that they run into some of them have back entrances um that’s very true of the older uh style of villages these new villages they don’t have a lot

Of extra instances but some of the buildings have multiple entrances which mobs can get into you get out what are you doing here you were one unaccounted for village er get in your house okay that guy’s in there he’s all safe and sound um so keeping your villagers safe uh

Right in this beginning part because you’re gonna have a lot of nights and a lot of mobs uh spreading around here so you’re gonna wanna get keep your villagers safe uh in the beginning get to a house there we go oh my gosh he is now a

Village uh zombie villager the next step is preparing for the raid uh if really i’ve seen a few videos where if any villagers at all get hit by the raid you lose the raid so you really want to make sure that all of your villagers are going to be completely safe so either

You need to completely barricade the homes that they are in or you can barricade the entire village so those are your two options um the raid will happen outside of the village and try to walk into the village so one technique may be to have a wall

Along the entire village or the other technique is just to make sure that these villagers that are trapped inside of these homes are going to be safe and uh the the bell except for that one villager that bell should really help you um uh with that by getting all the villagers inside but

Now you can see that there’s a whole bunch of mobs here and they’re not uh hurting all that much uh when it comes to the actual village all the villagers are inside and mobs can’t break blocks so you’re all good to go so we’re about ready to leave this village and go get

The bad omen effect uh but before we do we’re just gonna go ahead and light this place up with a ton of torches because if we start raiding uh in the middle of the night and uh there’s a whole bunch of mobs already here to greet us and

Kill us that would really slow us down so we don’t want that to happen so we’re just basically lighting up the entire spot the next step is for you to find a pillager outpost and to kill the leader uh now in the snapshot that i am currently recording this in the outposts

Are a little bit broken um so this is where one should be this is also where the game if you do slash locate the slash locate command uh this is where the game tells me to go the uh pillagers are here uh the leader is right there but

As you can see there is no actual outpost building to uh to be seen uh now once you kill this guy you will be given the bad omen effect and i have it right here uh and this is just plain old bad omen the level of the bad omen is

Important because depending on what type of difficulty you are playing in uh it will give you a certain amount of raids anything above level one will be add an extra raid uh to your uh to the raid that eventually happens inside of the city so

Right now we only have level one so this will be the basic raids if we get one more uh level two we will get an extra layer of raid so another raid on top of that so if your game difficulty is set too easy that means that you will get three

Uh raids three uh waves of rays if it’s set to normal that means you’ll get five and if it’s set too hard that means you will get seven different raids and like i said if you have anything above one so two three four or five then

You’ll get an extra raid on top of that if you uh so you may be thinking like why would you ever get raid three because if you have uh a bad omen sorry if why would you get get bad omen level three if all you need is bad at omen

Level two to get that extra raid uh the higher the bad omen level the more of a chance that when the raids spawn they will have enchanted uh items so you can give yourself some more difficulty or if you’re hoping to get enchants uh that naturally spawn on

These guys uh that is why you might want to uh to do that oh here is another captain so let’s see if i can extend my bad omen there you go bad omen level two now so now when i enter any village uh then i will have bad omen level two

Uh this is the point where you would want to stay away from any village except for the one that you plan on having the raid in so you don’t want to accidentally wander into a village that you haven’t prepared because then you won’t get all of the

Effects that you’re wanting so i’m going to teleport myself to the village uh that we have set up this raid in here we are we’re in the village the raid bar is powering up and this is the point where i will talk about what type of equipment you want basically you want

The highest powered equipment that you can get so if you are only have iron make sure it’s all enchanted if you’re running with diamond make sure that is enchanted as well as well as ranged weapons and you also are gonna want some good uh close-up

Weapons as well now we are lucky in that the this village already has a iron golem and he’s actually doing a ton of the work for us so he just destroyed that very first wave of uh raiders which is really really nice to see and we keep

On picking up these banners which is great because uh because those can’t be made in survival so the raid is going to continue on And wherever you’re standing you’ll hear that uh that is uh the direction uh that those guys are coming from and so uh i could i could kind of be in survival right now but i’m just gonna continue being in in creative you saw that that one guy uh had a um a crossbow

That was enchanted crossbows so those are uh what you’re going to be using um what would be be used against you if you have those higher levels of bad omen and man this iron golem is just totally wrecking these uh raiders here uh one nice thing is that if you can find a

Bell and you’re having trouble getting rid of the last waves of a raid you can hit this bell and it will use the glowing effect on them so that you can see where they are so looks like they haven’t quite come in yet we gotta see when they’re gonna enter the village so

Far our villagers have been completely safe inside of their dirt blocked off homes and also so far it’s been kind of cool that i haven’t i haven’t hit a single thing um i have not uh laid a finger on any of these guys uh when it comes to actually fighting

Uh in this village so i kind of want to keep it that way how to defeat a raid without doing anything at all and hiding in in fear oh my god this is an epic fight look at his health going down that is awesome here is that next wave

Of the raid and you can see that whenever you hit that bell it will show you some nearby raiders there you go it’s not showing them all because those witches over there are uh still hidden from me there you go now they’re showing up when

We hit a bell that’s a little bit closer to them but this has been kind of fun that uh we’ve destroyed this raid without any issues at all and things are definitely oh no oh our poor oh our poor iron golem he got destroyed now that we have evokers here

Uh this makes it much more difficult to keep our villagers safe because the evoker has these vexes that will go through windows doors and walls and that sort of stuff so we want to make sure to keep giving them uh something to fight if uh you were using this uh iron golem

Technique here you definitely want to make sure that you spawned in a few extra while it was the dirtiest iron golem i’ve ever seen holy moly look at my uh uh that that is that that is some subtitles there’s a lot of subtitles i can’t believe it these iron golems are

Doing so good we even got a totem of undying from uh that evoker there before so amazing so we got a really quick moving evoker it looks like he has some speed potions on him by the way this is something new which is that uh they will

Open doors and walk through the doors there uh if they are available that is going to cause an issue there and let’s create another one there we go i love my iron golem uh army here it’s amazing now this is a huge raid i mean just look at the amount of

Things here you got many evokers multiple ravangers and this villager in here is somehow staying completely safe these two dirt blocks are the most opie dirt blocks ever there is so much stuff on the ground including i’ve picked up four totems of undyne a few saddles and many many many banners

Uh the illager banners not even sure what raid uh we are at i am running through a lot of uh iron golems like if this might not be a very sustainable uh way to um fight one of these because i am going through so many golems

Raid victory that was the last of the uh the the waves and if we let our villagers out of the uh little homes that they’re in they will fire off fireworks they’re so happy that they survived the raid also if i happen to be in survival i

Would be given the hero of the town enchantment and that would give me reduced trades uh whenever i have that enchantment at any village so uh one final technique that i’ll leave you with is to do this at a village that you don’t really care all that much about if

You have good trades somewhere else that you don’t want to risk being destroyed by the raid then you should find a different village uh go ahead and make sure that all of your villagers are uh kept up in there and then do your raid there that way you

Won’t risk any of the villagers and use that hero of the town enchantment uh to get those uh trades when you see another village uh village uh villagers uh somewhere else also just to show uh this is the reduced trade here is uh this used to be 20

Wheat now it is only 13. so minus seven wheat uh to get that emerald so uh some pretty good stuff and and i am hero of the village two uh right now there you go so now you know how to pull it off yourself um and i hope that you found
