Well what you have to do is you have to find a drowned now drowns do spawn somewhat frequently underwater however to get yourself a trident you need a trident drowned that is a drown that’s holding a trident and those are actually only 6.25 percent or about six percent

Of the drones that spawn underwater and in bedrock edition it’s 15 but either way it can actually be somewhat difficult to get this trident drowned and even once you’ve found the trident round then there’s only an 8.5 percent chance of when you kill it that it will actually drop its trident and so

Overall it’s very very difficult to get this item approximately you have to kill 58 drones to get a trident on bedrock and that is with looting three and you have to kill 140 rounds to get a trident on java edition there are different drowned farms you can find tutorials for

Online but overall if you fly through the ocean trying to kill these guys you generally could find some if you spend enough time or maybe you can find a trident just by mistake having a trident drown appear near your base now once you’ve found a trident you can start

Using it right away or you can enchant it but this item is probably the most affected item by enchantments in the game what i mean by that is the fundamental mechanics of this item are completely changed by what enchantments are on it let’s say i throw this down on

The ground here it literally just sits there it’ll actually despawn after 60 seconds but if i go over here and pick it up then i have the trident again and you can see one durability is gone so you can kind of throw them like that

Let’s say we threw this in the air and let it hit me on the way back down when it hits me on the head you’ll notice it actually bounces off there and then i get the trident back and of course that takes away durability as

Well but again it just kind of sticks in the ground wherever it lands and then it’ll despawn there unless you pick it up just like that but the enchantment that really changes this is the loyalty enchantment now the loyalty enchantment comes in three levels loyalty 1 loyalty

2 and loyalty 3. we’re just gonna go with loyalty 3. the only difference in the mechanic is just the speed at which the trident comes back to you so let me explain this enchantment when your trident has loyalty 3 on it and we throw it the second it hits the ground and

Kind of sticks it’ll come right back up at us and if it was loyalty tour loyalty one it would do the exact same thing just a little bit slower so let’s say we threw that away it wouldn’t come back to us quite as fast but it certainly still would come back to us

That’s really cool about this is if you’re actually doing pvp by throwing this let’s say you hit one of these fishes that you want to get right there i didn’t hit it very well but let’s say you did then it’ll come back to you just like that instead of let’s say just

Throwing it and having to go back and retrieve it it can be a lot better for a really safe ranged weapon just like that and that’s how the loyalty enchantment changes around the trident but let’s get ourselves a fresh trident right here i’m going to show you some of the other

Mechanics that also are changed by enchantments on here let’s say the riptide enchantment now the riptide enchantment also has three levels and i’ll show you what that means in a second here if we go in the water and hold right click to kind of charge

And then let go we will be flung into the air just like that and you can see here i’m kind of just spiraling through the water that’s a really cool thing and you can kind of use it to travel just like this and although you can use it to

Go through the water if you go on the surface of the water and kind of look up you can fly a very large distance into the air and then drop back down such a really cool enchantment as well it can be used as a pvp weapon because if we

Hit a mob when we’re flying it will actually make there be damage given to that mob and so that’s a really cool way of using the trident as well but there are two more enchantments that also change the mechanics of the trident quite a bit there is the channeling enchantment and the channelling

Enchantment is actually one of the coolest in the entire game we put that on the trident and it becomes a thunderstorm basically what will happen is when we hit something during the thunderstorm it will be struck by lightning and i’ll show that right here so it is now rain and thunder and we’re

Going to hit our experimentation cow right here just with the thunderbolt because it’s already raining again it can’t just be running it actually has to be thundering so if we hit a mob just like this you’ll see lightning strikes it just like that and i will go into

More of how that works exactly impaling is also quite a cool enchantment what it does is if you have impaling on your trident it makes your damage to any water mob be a lot higher let’s say we want to fight a guardian with the impaling enchantment we can kill it a

Lot quicker than we could with let’s say even a sharpness 5 sword or axe and of course like every other item in the game or almost every other item you can enchant it with unbreaking 3 and also with mending which i would suggest as tridents are such a rare thing to have

You definitely want your durability to be something you do not have to worry about when using this item now because these enchantments change the mechanics of the trident so much there’s actually four unique ways that you can use this as a pvp weapon the first one is

Basically hitting a mob also known as a melee attack you just go up to any mob and hold down left click it’ll actually just kind of stab it like that and what’s something really interesting about this is there’s also critical attacks for this which means if we fall

On our way down when hitting this we can make there be more damage to the mob just like that the next one is to simply throw our trident just like that it hits a mob then of course if we don’t have loyalty we have to pick up the trident

Again so that’s a really interesting use of the trident there too as a ranged weapon now the next one is with lightning and what’s really interesting is that if we hit a mob with this during a thunderstorm of course thunder will go down and strike the mob that we hit

Which is very very useful for pvp but it actually also works with lightning rods just like that if we hit a lightning rod with our trident right there it’ll make a thunderbolt strike at just like that just be careful when you’re standing next to a lightning rod not to get

Shocked to death also this does work with literally any entity in the game so that could mean mobs like cows or that could even mean something as harmless as an item frame if we threw the trident at that you’ll see lightning will strike that as well something like an armor

Stand would work as well so you can definitely use this to have thunder strike wherever you want it to without necessarily having it hit a mob but you can do that or you can use lightning rods and whatever you want this is certainly a good way of having pvp in

The game because by summoning a lightning bolt you can definitely inflict a lot of extra damage on a player or a mob the last one is hitting a mob with riptide so if you go under the water of course charge your trident and go towards a mob like that you can

Hit the mob making damage go to it just like that now common misconception is if you have something else in your off hand it’ll also make the effect even greater but that’s not actually true so let’s say we’re going to get ourselves a netherright sword and put that in our

Off hand just like this and basically fly just like that yes the sword’s position in our hot bar does change or at least kind of on our screen it changes but it doesn’t actually make any more damage be added to the mob that we are hitting so there’s no point of doing

That unless you just like the look although it’s good to note that when it’s not raining or when you’re not in the water you actually cannot throw the riptide trident you can still do the melee attack just like this but if you try holding right click you just simply

Cannot charge it to throw it if you are using a trident that can be thrown tridents actually have two really unique abilities first of all they can break drip stone just like this if we hit the drip stone you’ll see it fell down just like that but they can also break chorus

Fruit flowers so if we go like this you can see it can pop it off just like that we can pick it up we can also pick up our trident and do that again so that’s certainly a cool thing to do as well if you’re trying to harvest your chorus

Fruits especially with a loyalty trident we can hit the chorus fruit it’ll come back towards us and we can do it just like that without any real issue now if you’re using tridents in the nether or some place with a lot of lava you’re in luck because tridents believe it or not

Cannot even burn in lava so if we throw our tridents right in there you’ll see they literally just go in there they are on fire but they do not burn of course the loyalty ones will return to us and of course if we threw the actual trident

Item into lava like this it would unfortunately burn but when the trident is just sitting like that kind of on the ground like it does it can also sit like that in lava it will appear on fire when picking it up it’s not damaged at all just be aware

If you’re storing your tridents in lava that they still have that rule or they will despawn after 60 seconds if they’re not picked up here’s a really cool trick if you have a whole bunch of loyalty tridents on you all you have to do to summon the trident storm is to basically

Have your entire inventory full except for your hot bar of just kind of random ones of the same item and then basically have nine different types of items right below you like that so every single time you throw a trident you pick up one of the items throw a trident throw a

Trident and just go through here throwing all the tridents just like that and all the tridents will fly back to you but they literally cannot get into your inventory because it’s completely full so you have this very strange trident effect where they’re literally flying around you just like this it’s

Very hot as they kind of follow you like that you can make this cool trident storm effect let’s say if you have a massive amount of trident you could continue this effect with every single inventory space that you have and basically have an absolutely massive trident storm following you just be

Aware that this can cause quite a bit of lag and unfortunately these tridents do not damage any mobs that they touch but upon removing an item from our inventory we can pick them up just like that or by going like this also i would say one of

My favorite uses of the tridents is as transportation you can really just hold down right click and fly through the water just like this if you have riptide on your trident it’s a super cool way of going through the water and kind of as a transportation method and what’s even

More awesome is if you have a pair of elytra you put them on like this you kind of go to the surface of the ocean you hold right click you can fly up into the air activate your elytra and fly just like that and better yet you don’t

Actually have to be in the ocean if you are in even one single block of water and you do this you can still fly up into the air just like that and slowly glide down this is a really awesome way of having a propelling source for elytra without having to have fireworks if

You’re in the let’s say ocean or something like that or if you just bring a bunch of water buckets or ice blocks with you to be able to fly really easily just like that what makes this effect incredibly fun is if it’s raining because when it’s raining not only does

This work underwater just like this but it also works above the water just like that although you can technically fly through the air just like this without having electrode is incredibly dangerous as when you get to falling down you fall down very quickly so it’s hard to do

That with a lighter on we can completely change that so basically flying through the air and holding space like that with our electro enabled we can then fly and we can actually get up to an insane amount of speed just by holding down right click and flying around just like

This and we can just get up to i think it’s almost like 500 kilometers an hour or something like i think that would be about 500 000 blocks per hour so that’s a super cool thing to do if you have riptide trident and if it’s raining or
