wattles – Minecraft Nether Cave Update!

Hello everybody this is insane eventually minecraft scapes will look something like this like gigantic caverns really cool shapes aquifers all this really cool stuff like for the first time ever we’re gonna have real caves in the game and and it’s gonna be sweet it’s not happening today not happening tomorrow but it’s

Happening some of these new cave shapes can get pretty insane too like they can get really really deep really narrow it’s pretty sweet the new caves easily might be the best thing to have ever happened to this game if you aren’t convincing you one more example look at this thing gigantic

Right here mineshaft floating in the air with chains and it’s just like a like a huge big big for sure is it gonna be pretty sweet but what about the nether i mean the nether did just get updated and it is kind of its own thing not really a cave but kind

Another data pack the data pack that we’ll be using in today’s video there’s a link to it down in the description this pack is amazing and there’s so much to it to check this one out you’re going to want to start by creating a brand new

World going to data packs and drop the data pack into your world before you generate it that way there’s no bugs load the world up and play survival minecraft punch trees work your way all the way up to obsidian or just put yourself in creative mode and skip the entire grind that would

Work too this data pack is minecraft 1.17 compatible that’s what i’m running it in today the overworld isn’t affected by this data pack at all everything is exactly the same above the ground yep just the normal world and then down below the ground it’s literally just a normal world still

The old caves and by old caves i mean the caves that we have right now glow-like and copper yep normal 1.17 it all changes when you go into the nether though so you’re going to want to make another portal just a normal nether portal like normal

And then go inside of it go through the nether portal the nether loads and it might look normal at first or it might look insanely different this pack entirely redoes the nether again so back to the portal spawn check this out this is where i spawned right

Here this nether is kind of normal looking i mean we have the vines right there which are definitely not normal some stuff over there that’s a little different but yeah it looks kind of normal until we go out here this shape right here look at how deep this thing is there’s a

Lake down there goes all the way up to here the different shapes which which are amazing shades we’ll talk about those in a second but look at this place this place is so cool like this is the nether this is really real the nether okay so i have to slow down i

Am really excited about what this pack turns the nether into though because it’s so cool so going forward from from the nether portal it’s back over there if i go over here and jump down i have something that looks like the soul sand valley except this time it’s

Like the soul sand valley combined with the 1.18 caves which is exactly what’s happening here the shapes of the nether generation have been pulled from the 1.18 data pack or at least like modeled off of it or something like that i’m not too sure exactly how technically it’s done

But look at this place the soul sand valley with the fog in here and all of these shapes these gigantic pillars and then the vines everywhere this place is way more disturbing than it ever was now i want to get this out of the way before there’s too many

Questions about it uh these pillars right here like with the gold with the netherwart um yeah i’m not too sure about these fillers and what this is maybe this is a bug with the generation or something i don’t know they do generate all over the place sometimes they have black

Stone sometimes they have nether bricks maybe it’s just part of this pack or something i’m not too sure but they are here now we’re going to talk about the biome changes a little bit more throughout today’s video but structures structures will definitely still generate in the nether so we have

Another fortress right here the game isn’t broken you can still find bastions you can still find nether fortresses all of that stuff is still in the game which is really important but let’s check out some more of the generations so we have a soul sand valley violent

Here that’s still a valley it’s a lot more like hilly but still kind of a valley if we move back over i think it was this way and then curve over here we have the warped forest biome the warped forest biome at least this one is kind

Of small but look at the ceiling the warped blocks all over the ceiling we still have a lot of vines in here now in general throughout most of the bottoms that we’re gonna take a look at today basically all of them you’re gonna find weeping vines all

Over the place so that is a little bit of a bummer these are kind of like a crimson forest thing but at the same time they definitely add to the atmosphere of the nether in general like seeing these things all over the place it definitely makes it feel more like

Like kind of like cavey you know because you have like vines hanging from the ceiling everywhere but the warm forest biome so this place has a lot more plants on the ground like crazy big time oh look at this i think there’s like a plant on every single black

And there’s an endermite endermiter now going to spawn in this biome we still have the trees generating everywhere and we have these insane amazing shapes like twisting around and winding and then actually i think this is another waste pile another thing that you’re going to notice all over the place glow lichen

Glow lichen has been moved over to the nether it’s in the overworld too but you’ll also be able to find a generating in the nether and random patches going back out of this warp forest bottom still right over by the portal we have this lava lake and then if we go this way

Look at this we have the basalt delta over there with like the coolest nether generation that i’ve ever seen imagine finding this place and survival minecraft looking at this thing it’s like a gigantic mountain of black stone and basalt moving through the soul sand valley biome watching out for like these random

Like cracks and stuff and just moving up to this thing approaching it it’s massive now the basalt delta’s biome is actually pretty similar to the vanilla basalt delta’s biome you’re gonna have lava pools all over the place tons of basalt tons of black stone the shapes are gonna be different for sure

But it’s pretty similar let’s see if i can get this right so uh this fact changes how biomes generate in the nether there are a couple new biomes one of them is the lava lake biome basalt deltas tend to generate near lava lake biomes the soul sand valley

Also tends to generate near the lava lake biome but also by the basalt delta spiral if we’re able to find a crimson forest biome we should be able to find a warp forest biome as well because those biomes generate near each other too hey look at that another fortress in the

Basalt deltas that’s sweet now it’s not always going to happen here’s another warped forest biome it doesn’t really look like there’s any crimson forest near here it’s just kind of in the middle of the basalt deltas and biome generation in general can still be pretty random moving through

Some of the land over there we’re in a soul sand valley biome now and it’s yeah like just a random gigantic soul sand valley button my favorite thing about this pack though by far and what it does to the nether is the shapes like look at this shape right here

This makes the nether and the soul sand valley biome in general which was already insanely creepy like a thousand times more creepy one of the big downsides of this pack though is the nether fog so this yellowy fog is really cool looking for sure but it seems that some of the cool other

Vanilla fog colors are gone like for example in the soul sand valley biome the fog shouldn’t be this color i think it’s meant to be like that light blue color right uh and yeah this definitely isn’t anything like light blue at the same time though

A lot of the nether fog is left alone like the warped forest bomb the crimson forest it’s the same color fog i think it’s just a soul sand valley bomb i’ll show you the other fog’s in a minute so massive gigantic soul sand valley cavern probably a lava lake biome down there

And then over here i think this is just another waste pile it’s kind of plain looking i’d like to try and see if we can find all of the biomes today which might be really difficult so there are three brand new biomes one of them is the lava lake bottom it’s

Kind of like the lava ocean biome the next mile might be a little bit easier to find or it might not i i’m not too sure so the solstice beach biome that’s the next bottom it’s going to be soul sand next to the lava lake that’s usually where it generates

And it’s kind of like a beach biome inside of the nether i’m thinking that it’s going to be made out of a lot of souls and maybe something like this right here and again next to the lava now this area is really insane looking so all the vines on the ceiling

We have all of these lakes in here i’m thinking that this is a lava lakes biome in here just kind of winding through here we have these like big cracks on the ground kind of like a river of lava it’s pretty sweet and yeah just lakes like all over the

Place the terrain in here is absolutely destroyed like it goes up and then it cuts away and then it’s like over there this cave generation fits so well in the nether like it makes it a lot more closed off i’m not finding as many gigantic open stretches

But it feels good and even more importantly it kind of feels vanilla like moving through here but here we are we actually found it the crimson forest bomb so the crimson forest biome just like in vanilla minecraft is going to be pretty similar to the warp forest biome

Except this time it’s going to have crimson trees this is the perfect example of what i was talking about though so the biomes are kind of on this generation gradient thing they’ll generate near other types of biomes and it happened perfectly here we have the warp force we have the crimson

Forest right next to each other so remember when i was talking about the whole fog color thing uh the soul sand valley biome fog unless i’m crazy it’s definitely different but check this out if i go into the warm forest biome thankfully the blue fog still exists now

The warp forest bottoms in general seem to be like way more crazy shaped maybe even a little bit smaller so you won’t see as much as the blue fog but it is still here and if you listen closely the ambient sounds are still here so like the soul sand valley that

Weird like airy sound in the background yeah that’s still in the soul stand belly right here it’s like a really interesting blend of biomes though so back over here we had the crimson forest there should be like right uh over there then we have the war forest in here we

Have the soul sand valley right over here a little bit more force moving out here then we have the nether wave spine this is a good example of the nether waste bombs it’s pretty plain steel but it’s like a million times better the pack really shows how much can change

If the block generation is just switched up a little bit the nether ways goes from being just like a really barren empty place to actually like really interesting like setting up a base in here cutting through those holes that would be sweet so let’s talk a little bit about mob spawning and how

It’s changed in this pack like we saw earlier endermites will now actually spawn inside of the warped forest biome i really like this change it makes the endermite more of a thing and it definitely fits with the whole enderman thing inside of the warped forest blazes will now actually spawn in the

Basalt deltas gotta be honest i don’t know if i love this one it makes it a little bit easier to actually get your hands on blaze rods maybe you should have to go to the nether fortress for it but i don’t know it is a thing wither skeletons will now spawn in the

Soul sand valley biome which is amazing i always hoped that something like this would happen kind of like the blade spawning in the basal deltas this is potentially something that could get overpowered if it happened a lot but thankfully wither skeleton spawns don’t seem to happen very frequently in

The soul sand valley bile in the whole time that i’ve been in the pack i’ve only really been able to find the normal soul sand valley spawns inside of this place so like skeletons i haven’t really noticed very many wither skeleton spawns at all and then finally there is

One more mob spawn that will spawn in the nether and it’s actually tied to the biome that we haven’t been able to find quite yet the stray so that’s right the stray can actually spawn in the nether now in a specific biome the biome is known as the polar chasm biome

Now this biome actually has ice inside of the nether it’s a really fascinating idea this biome will spawn inside of the lava lakes biome the polar chasm biome starts to get a little bit more out there but i think it’s a pretty interesting concept but uh don’t worry water still doesn’t

Work in the nether this generation right here here it is again look at how good it looks so i’ve actually put this back into a couple different worlds just looking for the polar chasm biome and i still haven’t been able to find it including in this one

So it seems to be like insanely rare right now we’re at 1 300 assuming spawn is somewhat near zero zero we’ve gone a really long ways and i haven’t seen this biome anywhere at all like even flying down low here at the bottom of the world just looking around for ice

Anywhere i’m not finding it or seeing it literally anywhere if we were able to find the super rare polar chasm biome though we would see things from the ice spikes biome in the frozen ocean so like icebergs ice spikes ice it’s super rare though which i like here’s some more interesting generations

We have the soul sand go down into like this thin cave then we have this flat area with gravel i’m thinking this right here has to be a soul sand beach area i mean it’s so flat definitely looks like a beach doesn’t look like anything that you would see in

Vanilla minecraft so maybe maybe soul sand beach or it could just be because we’re so low in the nether should the nether get another update so soon uh probably not other places definitely need an update a little bit more like the end but is this a cool idea for sure

Definitely the 1.18 cave generation when put inside of the nether fits so amazingly and a few other minor adjustments like the addition of weeping vines all over the place those changes they definitely make this place feel way more claustrophobic and cave-like i think the coolest generation with this

Pack definitely happens out in the open though when you have a big cavern like this and you can really see like the fog and the cave shapes i feel like it looks so cool like these giant arches basalt pillars and other pillars just holding stuff up it looks amazing it just looks so
