Hey everybody how’s it going and welcome back to another episode in the minecraft mod tutorial series where i teach you how to make a minecraft mod without any coding whatsoever so today we’re gonna be taking a look at how you can make your own mobs and they’ll be able to walk around You can make animals you can make monsters whatever you want let’s jump right into it Okay so the first thing we need to do is we need to actually make the sort of texture and the look of the mob now i’m not going to go over how to make custom models so you know they can be a custom shape i’m just going to go over how to make Different versions of existing mobs so you know if you want to make something that looks like a zombie for example except with a different texture because the model is basically the way that they actually are shaped and the texture is what goes on top of That shape so we’re not going to look at making custom models because that’s kind of complicated but we are gonna look at making textures to go on top of those models so you know a cow shape but with something different or whatever shape you want whatever monster So gonna open up this page here this is the nova skin website with all of the entities in the game so in this case i’m going to do a cow so we’re going to come into the cow folder but if there’s no cow folder then it might be down here So we’re going to go into cal and i have cow or mushroom so you can just choose which one basically to use as a base i’m going to use cal and this is a little editor for the texture of our cow so you know when you have this hand icon when you’re Outside the uh mob you can click and drag to look around and then when you’re inside the mob you can you know draw on top of it if you click on this down here you can pick what color you’re using so if you want to use different color There you go these are a bunch of different brushes you have and you can mess around with a bunch of different settings up here like you know you can change the brightness contrast whatever you know all this all this stuff it’s just a little photo editor but for Your mob also there’s undoing redo buttons down here so you know there you go so i’m just gonna basically um i’m gonna try and make something that looks sorta cool and we’ll be right back okay boom i’m done i’ve made this little purple cow here um it’s gonna be an ardenium cow because This whole mods based on ardanium but the way i did this super easily is just by coming over to this filters page right here and just messing with these sliders these are all the sliders you get you know in a photo editing program but you know you can see applied on your Mob so i just shifted the hue a bunch to get this color and then you know increase the noise so i get you know these variations of the color in his body but yeah that’s all i did you can just mess around with the sliders till you get something They think looks good so what we need to do to save our mob is come up here click on the save button and then come over to the download tab right click on the image and do save image as and then you can save this in a folder You will remember so as you can see i’m saving this under downloads and i’m just going to call this ardanium cow texture because this is gonna be the actual name of the texture within m creator as well when we import it so i’m gonna save it And we can close out of this page now so now back in m creator we’re gonna come over to this resources tab on the left and hit import textures and we’re going to import mob gui logo et cetera textures so you know this is going to be a mob Texture so we’ll import that and then just come to your downloads folder or wherever you saved it and here i have my odinium cap texture so open and there you’ll see a little squish thing down there but don’t worry it’s not going to look like that in game It’s going to look like our actual cow so now we’re going to come back to mod elements so we get this view and we’re going to actually add the entity itself so we’re going to add and find entity living entity is what it means for mob and we’re going to call this an Ardanium cow all right so now we have to name the entity so i’m just going to call it the ardeniumcal and here’s the model so this is where we’re going to pick what kind of mob we made so in this case i’m going to pick cal but you know you can pick Whatever you want and biped is like a player and then you know all the other ones are self-explanatory so i’m going to pick cal and then the texture we just need to pick the texture for our entity so the ordaining cow texture now this glow texture right here this is uh it’s optional But and we’re not going to have one and most in most cases you won’t have one but this basically you know how like spider eyes kind of glow in the dark you can make that with the glow texture i’m not gonna go over that and this bounding box Once again we’ll leave it this is actually like the box for the hitbox and stuff around the entity you can mess with this if you want but again in most cases we’re just going to leave it like this okay so for spawn egg options we can enable or disable a spawn egg in This case i want to enable it and then we have the base color the dot color and then the tab we want to save it in so i’m going to save it in miscellaneous because that’s where all the spawn eggs are normally and if i real quick pull up this picture This is the creeper spawn egg and you can kind of see what it looks like so the base color is going to be this green color in this case for the creeper so that’s this one right here that base color so this green and then this next one over here is Going to be the dot color which is like these little speckles on the egg so in this case for my ordainium cow i’m gonna pick i don’t know a little a dark purple and then a lighter purple i don’t know how this is gonna look but i’m just gonna experiment so It’s gonna be dark purple where the green is and the light purple where this black is so that’s how our egg is going to look and then we can also enable or disable a boss bar so like the ender dragon has the bar on the top of the screen If we enable this you can pick what color you want the bar to be as well as the type of bar so if you have progress that’ll just show its health normally and all these different ones show it sort of in like percentages so if you have notched 10 there’s going to be 10 little sections and if it has full health it’ll have all 10 sections but it’ll it won’t show it exactly and it’ll be more divided up but i’m just going to turn this off because it’s just a normal mob it’s not a boss mob Entity label is like the player name so it’ll show above their head again i’m going to leave it blank because i don’t want to have i don’t want this cow to have a player name it’s not it’s it’s not it’s not special it’s just like a normal cow Now for these living sounds all these sounds well you can import your own custom sounds by making them however you’d make a normal sound coming to resources sound files and then import ogg sounds and you can you know name the sound and give it a subtitle which is like In the bottom right corner you know the subtitles appear that’s what will happen when the sound is being played but we’re not going to have a sound because we’re just going to use the built-in cow sounds so for the living sound we’re going to come all the way down To the e for entity dot and then something because that’s how they’re organized so we have you know ambien and then block and keep on going down and we’ll get entity entity dot cow and it says living sound so we’re gonna pick the ambient cow sound The cow makes a move sound as its ambient sound like when it’s just walking around and then we have our step sound which is like which is like when it walks i’m going to try something interesting here and i’m going to set it to this block and portal frame fill so that’s the Noise that it makes when you put the eye of ender inside the end portal because i kind of want to make like a sort of metallic sound like or whatever when it’s walking around so this is the step sound like as it’s moving around right and then we have a heart sound The generic hurt which is like the player sounds like right i’m gonna change that to the cow sound as well uh so keep on coming down to entity entity.cal dot hurt as well as death i’m also gonna use the cow death sound cow death right there so hurt sound and Death sound are all done now that we’ve got this all done we’re gonna come over to behavior this is where we define our mob’s well behavior so right here mob or creature as it says over here mob is gonna be a monster and then creature Is just an animal so we’re gonna make it just an animal we don’t want it to attack you and then the default drop this is what it drops so i’m gonna make it drop probably an ardanium dust that sounds cool um creature type these are you know the type The type of creature right so undead is a zombie and the reason it needs to know this is because like with zombies if you hit them with healing potions and stuff then they’ll actually take damage so that’s kind of reversed so it’s like if you want to have any of that And then arthropod is like spiders so you know the bane of arthropods enchantment will do more damage on them and then illiter and also water so it can you know swim underwater but again basic normal we’re going to keep it undefined and then the health value and experience amount So this is the health points a player has 10 hearts and each heart is two health points so a player has 20 health and now i’m going to set this probably to like six that’s three hearts no it should be stronger than that because it’s made out of metal Yeah that’s about right six hearts and then experience amount that’s the amount of experience for it to drop now the animals usually drop about three and one should drop five so i’m gonna make mine like two three three is cool and then movement speed and tracking range Movement speed is well how fast it moves 0.3 seems to be the default so i’m going to up it a little bit make it a bit faster you know what 0.4 cool and then the ren the tracking range is like if you have a zombie for example It’s like how far away it can see you from zombies are like 40. so we’re definitely going to bring this down i don’t think it matters because it’s an animal and not a monster so we’re gonna put it at like 12. okay now the attack strength this is how How much it’ll hit if it attacks you and the armor protection it’s like how much defense it has it’s like as if we were to have armor although it doesn’t really have armor i’m going to put it at 0.6 because it’s made of metal so it’s a bit tougher So you know it has that extra layer of protection and then attack knockback is the amount of knockback it’ll do to you and then knockback resistance is kind of the amount of knockback it can resist so like will it get knocked back as far when you attack it And once again i’m gonna put this up so it won’t get knocked back as far because again made out of metal so it should be heavy so it shouldn’t be able to be knocked back as much anyways equipment as it says here it only works for bipad and zombie models But this is basically like what it wears by default and as it says here we have main hand then off hand helmet body leggings and boots and this is like what will show up on its body but like if you want to make some kind of thing that’s wearing full diamond Armor and has a diamond sword in its hand then go for it that’s where you can set this up we can also make it writable by a player if you wanted to and the forward and strafe movement control um forward movement control means that you know you can control it moving Forward and back and then if you look around it’ll go that way as well but strafe means that also that you can also go left and right while you’re writing it now i don’t want this to be ridable because again you can’t ride a cow or anything And then check if there’s a water entity no it’s not and it’s also not a flying entity you can also check what it’s immune to down here now since it’s iron i don’t think it should be able to be crushed by an anvil i don’t think it should be able to be Struck by lightning i don’t think it should take fall damage and i think that’s good and now we can skip the particles because again these are just the particles that you want to spawn around the entity and you know we pretty much always skip this because it’s not that important Why would you really want particles surrounding your mob anyways but it’s an option you can have right bind this entity to a gui this as it says you want to keep it at none in most cases but if you want it to have a gui Then later you can make it so you know if you right click on it it’ll open the dui because you know there’s a chance that you might want it i don’t know if you want to make a chest or something that’ll follow you and you’ll be able to store items in it Then you’d want to do that here now these are all the triggers where we can set up our procedures if you want to make procedures for your entities to do specific things then here they are next is probably the most complicated tab this is the ai and goals and as you can See here we have our procedure thing here and these are kind of the things that i want to do but we’re going to go over the stuff up here first first of all enable ai if you turn this off basically it’ll just sit still and do literally nothing So usually yeah you want to keep it on then we have entity base which as it says it can make problems so usually we’re going to want to keep it off we can also enable or disable ranged attacks so ranged attacks are like you know a skeleton shooting arrows at you It’s not going to attack so we’re not going to do that and then this if we check this then we’re going to be able to breed the animal so let’s add let’s use an ardanium ingot because why not right and then we can check whether or not we contain it but We’re going to keep that off as well okay so these are the tasks for our ai to do so as it says here tasks higher on the list have a higher priority so it’ll prioritize doing those first so we don’t want it to do melee attacks that’s not Something we want it to do we also don’t want it to fight back give me a defenseless little cow and yeah this is pretty pretty much what we want to do just wander around look around and you know swim or flow if it’s in water but um there’s all these different tasks You can specify so as you can see here you have a lot of ones for like wolves and stuff her entities that the owner attacked right follow owner so that like you know if you made that chest thing that i was talking about earlier then you’d be able to tame it and be Able to follow you but i’m just going to keep looking through these and pick ones that i might want to have panic when attacked that’s like the cow running around all the time so we’re gonna put that like here you know we’ll put it down here at the bottom So when it’s attacked and the speed factor is how fast it’ll go so if you keep it at one that’s just his normal speed but if you want to go extra fast like cows do when you attack them you can make it higher so i’m gonna do that So it runs around like crazy geez that might be a fun idea breaking blocks all right i think this is my finished ai for my cow so it’s going to wander around if it can’t wander around then it’s going to look around if it’s been attacked it’s going to Panic and start running around like crazy and if it’s in water it will swim and float and if you got rid of this it starts to sink like slimes all right now for spawning we can change you know how it spawns and stuff so we’re going to want to keep it Enabled but if you don’t keep it enabled then you know you’ll only be able to spawn it through commands or through the spawn egg despawning when idle you know for stuff like wolves you don’t want to enable it because or like that chest mob because then it disappears and if you Don’t know about that then yeah minecraft will despawn stuff when you get far away and when there’s no one near so that you know your computer doesn’t overload and stuff so we’re gonna keep that checked because again it’s not really important like cows and sheep and chickens and Stuff do that as well as monsters so we’re going to keep that on now the spawn weight is just really how much your mob spawns so if you want your mob to spawn a lot you can bump this up if you don’t want to spawn as frequently you can make it Go down so i’m going to bring it down to like 15. and the mob natural spawning type this is you know where it’ll spawn so in this case we’re going to pick creature because that’s again like animal spawning and monster you know it’ll only spawn at night i’m going to pick creature And then if your thing is a water creature you know you can pick the water creature okay and now minimal and maximal number of entities in a spawn group this is when they spawn they’ll spawn in groups so this is how many mobs you want to put in those groups so I’m going to do minimal is 2 and maximum is 5. that sounds cool and then you can also pick the biomes where the entity spawns now in the future we’re going to look at how to make our own biomes and in this case i’m going to want it to Only spawn in the ardanium biome but for now we don’t have an ardanium biome so we’re just going to keep this off and then does it spawn in dungeons so the dungeons with the mob spawners you can make it spawn in there and add it so that There’s a chance that a dungeon will spawn with your mob instead but i think that’d be stupid having a cow dungeon so we’re gonna keep that off and then you also have a custom procedure spawn condition which in most cases you’ll want to avoid because these options are plenty so we’re gonna Hit save and that’s it now all we have to do is i’m gonna fire up the game and see if we can spot our mob anywhere okie dokie so here we are back in our world and we spawn in this little island which is sort of unfortunate so i’m going to Just uh keep moving i’m going to try to find a plane’s biome and we’ll see if we can find our mob okay so we made it to a forest i’m just flying around and looking oh there’s one right there so here’s our mob spawned in and as you can hear he makes Cow noises he’s moving and you can hear as he’s walking i don’t know if you heard that right there but he’s making um and portal noises whenever he walks walk buddy walk did you hear that all right now i’m going to punch him and he starts running around like absolutely crazy oh So that works and now if we kill him he dropped an ardenium dust so that’s it also if we look we have our spawn egg which fits in quite well with the rest of the ardenium stuff so yeah that’s it thanks everyone for watching uh leave a like comment and subscribe And let me know what kind of awesome animal you create so thanks for watching and i will see you guys in the next one goodbye Video
