More Marriland – Hermitcraft SMP Part 02: Punching Christmas Trees!

How’s it going everyone maryland here and i’m here on the hermitcraft vanilla server and it’s a rainy day around here certainly a bit uh rainy thankfully i think it activates my swift swim ability so that’s kind of cool um no i wish it doesn’t really

Um yeah so i’m just kind of over here where my future base is going to be i think i’m going to set it up down here but you know what i need to get some resources um you know it’s minecraft that’s how it goes and while there’s a ton of stuff in

The village it just wouldn’t be a minecraft series unless i went out and punched some trees to get some wood and uh look at that even the rain’s clearing out that’s good and you know did some basic resource gathering i figure that’s sort of a right of any

Minecraft player out there so let’s start by punching some trees to get some wood um this looks like a pretty good tree right here i don’t think there’d be a problem with that no i’m just kidding i i don’t think i should punch that tree no i’m actually gonna head out just a

Bit just to i don’t know try find some stuff hopefully go somewhere where isn’t too um you know explored but not too far away or anything i don’t want to mess with the scenery or anything because it’s a nice little village here but i should probably make sure i know where

I’m going so like 34 80 14. yeah i should be able to find my way back should be able to i’m heading east it’s just i don’t think it’s west that i want to go oh my what on earth hmm all right so that’s cool

Okay now i also want to get some food going because i sort of have a lack of that at the moment all right view tree there we go okay it’s not literally a u tree okay yes so i did indeed get my achievement there why do i hear a skeleton that’s kind of

Disconcerting there hmm all right well i should probably take some of these saplings i mean there’s probably a wood farm somewhere i think even in the old village and that might be a good place to explore too kind of use some of the resources in the

Old village so why am i wasting my time here um let me just well what am i talking about i got my oak wood i got my oak wood i should probably be a good samaritan replant that tree now how on earth do i have all these ender pearls well dmacc

Was showing me around he showed me the uh the ender ender farm enderman i might have wound up with a few ender pearls there actually just a dumped a whole stack of them so i didn’t really have any control over that but i figured they’re kind of useful for getting around

So why not um i think i’m actually going to go ahead and just kind of head back to town really quick um a little i think i missed it by a bit um yeah let’s check out the old hermitcraft town and see kind of what’s going on maybe they’re

Oh this is that abbott tournament um maybe there’s some resources i can get there like a tree farm or something because that wouldn’t be too shabby kind of get a good start going because i want to make sure i have enough wooden stuff to do some mining although actually i

Guess i could probably start with the basics let’s see oh i should also check out that cow farm too it seemed to me that there was one in the old town and this is really the place to be whoo i love going fast like this all right

But like sonic we gotta go faster we’ll use these ender pearls um except then i get all disoriented this does not exactly look like where i want to be i think i want to be let’s see this is ah here we go now i know where i am

I know it’s so wild getting used to the new town and everything trying to get used to your bearings and all that i’m still trying to get used to it all all right let’s see what we’ve got going on back at the old village um

I’m trying to remember which way it is i don’t know if it’s oh here we go let’s see village hypnose base i think this is the one all right let’s take the minecart and let’s do this right oh well that didn’t work now why is it going i’ll be honest it has

Been a while since i’ve played vanilla hmm there we go yeah it’s been a while since i’ve played vanilla so forgive me for some of that i’ve been actually i haven’t played on 1.7 like at all so a lot of the stuff’s still rather new to me including all these really nice looking

Glass blocks they look cool i think they’re like what is it clay stained ones i don’t even know i’m gonna have to find out right all right well i’m not gonna bore you with the ride on over there so i will see you in a moment

Okay so i winded up getting lost and you know what it’s actually fine because i’m thinking about it i was getting a little homesick anyway it’s like this does seem like the place to be so i’m just gonna chill over here um let’s see except my kind of house is

Over behind the portal and probably a little dangerous to do too much at night don’t want to do too much exploring i don’t have any armor real well okay i mean i guess i have some armor but hardly enough to get me by through the night

Um so i’ll just kind of do some looking around see what’s up i wonder if there’s anything going on like inside of that mountain i do see a beam there so one of those beacons so i would imagine something’s going on hmm i’ll just go over here a little bit

Looks like the sun’s starting to rise anyway so should be able to do some exploring i just don’t want to run into like a creeper or something right away um all right well i think i’m safer right now so let me just turn all this wood into some planks

Get a crafting table going oh shoot oh my goodness look at that guy so strong oh just take me away he’s not even gonna burn in the sunlight is he because of that armor ah he’s just gonna stand there isn’t he well i think he’ll despawn if i go far

Enough away so i think i’m just gonna do that let’s just cruise on out of here where on earth okay well you know what this will just have to do what does this say jack sparrow oh there’s an arrow there so i see this is a cool canal i like this huh

I know there’s still so much exploring to do i feel like i just want to explore all day but there is some coal here and not gonna lie i could totally use that right now so let me just kind of set up shop here i’ll tidy up later um see we need

To make that wooden pickaxe i know everyone on the server is like what ugh all right so i gotta get rid of this dirt jeez okay let me make my favorite tool that good ol how did i get those bones that’s so weird i don’t know where i even got those from huh

Oh snap i got an upgrade now oh all right i wish i could turn off these upgrades maybe i can um i’m just i’m not gonna look i think i’d rather just amuse everyone oh okay we’re just kind of oh hopefully this isn’t anyone’s base well i’ll tidy it up let’s see

I don’t need all these ender pearls my goodness there’s so many i need to just like dump them somewhere and i think i’d be a little happier okay um got some stone stuff i’m just gonna light this up just kind of seal it off and hope no one notices

I is just really running from that skeleton oh i was hoping for an achievement for that i would have loved flipping the table but oh well okay let’s see i think i came from up there somewhere a little disoriented oh um except for the part where this does not

Oh i think i’m in the business district yeah something like that i just got to find that big christmas tree oh no now i know where i am all right hopefully mr skelly isn’t over there because that’d just be nasty i really don’t want him kind of getting in my business

I got some exploring to do all right let’s just cruise on over there oh look at that coal all right i’ve oh this is nice okay well i found a good little oh no how do i fight this guy i think i’m literally gonna have to tear into him with a wooden pickaxe

Yeah how you like them apples bud all right well at least this doesn’t go back too far so this is a great place to get set up all right let’s see um let me start with i guess a chest just put that there and just get rid of some of these i mean

I can use these later they’ll be helpful but really i don’t need all this stuff right now right now i want to get that iron and that coal get cooking all right get earning some stuff myself now thankfully if i do need iron i can always go get some of that giant iron

Um iron farm thingy with the golems you know where i started this whole adventure i can go there but i figure you know what before i take it upon myself to do that i should probably get some myself the old-fashioned way i’d feel better about it

But you know once i get enough i’ll help myself to it don’t worry don’t worry that’s just how i how i go um but there are some trees here that need a chopping so let me go ahead and chop those things down i’m gonna make a wait why am i making a

Wooden axe come on i can do better than that i can even make a wooden shovel if i want so pro and i should probably make a sword just so i don’t have to tear into things with a oh i’m getting ready now all right and lastly let’s make some torches

All right i’m so ready now so pro hopefully i don’t lose track of this cave i shouldn’t all right let’s get some more wood here and i probably don’t need to bore you with too much more of this this is the pretty basic stuff you’ve probably seen

Me do a million times although i guess not on vanilla as recently this has been my first vanilla series since uh what is it maryland and bro i think yeah i’ve only done three huh yeah i did my survival island hardcore one which was fun don’t get me wrong and i did um

My 100 diamond challenge which was also a hardcore one so i haven’t really done any any casual you know not hardcore um like vanilla ones so hopefully that’ll be fun all right um certainly should replant these saplings oh apple that’s wonderful in fact i’m gonna eat that apple right

Now and where is that zombie i know i hear a zombie but um and i know i said i wouldn’t bore you but i just i was going off on a tangent you know how those go scary yes i know all right let me just chop some wood and

Do a little bit of not really caving but just kind of resource gathering and i will uh i’ll see you in a moment more iron nice this is pretty good actually actually looks like a pretty nice size vein looks like six yeah that’s great okay cool so i’ll be

Able to smelt that all up get enough for oh i don’t know maybe a bucket maybe a iron pick should have enough for all of that i need to start making some armor too um let’s see i’m not too far down or anything i’m just trying to get some basic things

Um but yeah i just wanted to show you that iron nice okay so managed to get like 18 iron and even some extra coal so that’s pretty cool um really quick just because i don’t have a bed or anything and even if i did it wouldn’t matter

I’m going to seal this off just to make sure nothing nasty gets in um actually you know what kind of think of it there are those little tiny zombies aren’t there yeah that wouldn’t be very good okay so we gotta start smelting some of this stuff let’s go ahead and make a furnace

Oh how do i turn this off all right let’s see let’s do uh three actually two will do rather get the most efficiency out of that all right cooking up that iron all right got some hardware too oh my goodness okay i really want a bucket i’m not gonna lie

There we go i don’t know why i just like the bucket is seriously one of my favorite items in all of minecraft because realistically it is what can be used to um you know to put out like lava and stuff you just pour that it’s so great

I love it all right let’s see it’s like one of the first things i like to make additionally i want to make one of those iron pickaxes too that way i’ll be able to mine redstone and diamonds and gold and all that fun stuff okay so let’s see um what else to use

This iron on i mean i guess i should probably make like a chest plate or something surely wouldn’t hurt um and i should probably put some of this stuff away too i got plenty of coal so i can make some torches i was trying to decide if i wanted to

Make charcoal or not but i don’t think it’ll be necessary okay and making some stairs probably wouldn’t be a bad idea so let’s go ahead and make some of those oh i need to make another pick too that’s right another wooden pick yeah maybe two oops what on earth am i doing

Spacing out totally tonight there we go and i need some more stone you know what i’m just gonna let’s do it that way oh and i use my iron one too such a terrible person all right oh i need one more one more there we go actually let’s see yeah i

Need some pants and i need a chest plate so i’ll make a chest plate there we go i won’t quite have enough to make the pants but that’s fine that is fine all right now let’s actually just take the quick way down all right and i’m going to get back to

It oh actually i’m going to eat this apple really quick wow i’ll do it in a moment look at that already found some gold not like it’s super useful in this but certainly not a bad thing to have okay great i got some gold doing good

Doing good i wonder oh even more gold look at that look at that i am just i am getting rich yeah i like that okay maybe i can get some diamonds that’d be pretty uh pretty great really huh all right well i found something down there

Oh man i could sure use some gravel right now um hmm it’s like i don’t have anything really to defend myself with i mean i guess i do have this sword and i do have some armor and i don’t hear anything so it should be safe um all right looks like all’s clear

Surely wouldn’t hurt to light this all up though hmm lots of mushrooms all right what we got going on well i guess i’ll take the mushrooms surely doesn’t hurt i could always make some soup with that i just need the red mushrooms i’m pretty sure and i’ll grab some coal

But hopefully there’s nothing lurking over there doesn’t look like it’s been explored someone probably would have placed torches oh so much coal this is awesome oh i’m getting set now i’ll be able to smelt all sorts of things of course there is the community furnace out somewhere i can find that and that’d

That whole gullible thing where it’s like yeah they added gullible to the dictionary this year or no they removed gullible from the dictionary this year what really yeah and gullible totally has three l’s in it right so if you say it in a sarcastic voice what’s so funny after you just made like

Shoot i think there’s a lot of witches there’s like two witches down there no all right i picked the wrong place oh man i’m not hunting those witches oh i came here to hunt witches right um no not at all oh man okay so well that was cool and

All i think that’s just a little bit much for right now let’s just put some of this gold and i didn’t get any iron that’s so depressing oh i really need food it is day out so you know what with my new trusty bucket here i’m gonna grab some water some water

Some water and i guess i’m gonna oh i should make a hoe that’s what i should do should totally do that sheep uh she’d be creeping in the house yo oh i need more oh no i have more wood that’s right that’s right i just didn’t plank it yet not planking

I think i have some bone meal that i could use if i really need to grow that all right let me get some seeds uncle maryland had a farm e-i-e-i-o and on this he grew some wheat e-i-e-i-o notice how i was extra sure to emphasize the t in that because if you

Heard that improperly it would probably not be very appropriate um for my channel at all okay let’s see there we go we got a little something going on or growing on if you’d rather um still gonna be a bit before that’s done but i do hear some like pig or something

So i gotta find that thing i gotta slice it ooh what do we have over there this is actually a pretty good place to go exploring um i feel like a real hermit now because i’m basically more exclusive than the hermits over in hermitville but that’s just oh there’s where everything

Is i wonder if they’re supposed to be in there i mean it doesn’t look like it’s a farm or anything huh i mean part of me almost thinks i should just leave him there oh well i’ll deal with it later let’s see i just want to get this farm going

And on this farm he grew some wheat whoa that uh that could be quite a fall but i do see some coal there and i see something light light over there so maybe it’s either lava or someone went exploring all right well i need to eat this steak

What i’m not a vegetarian no that was that was the other maryland right yeah totally that’s totally it um yeah nice and kind of oh cow holy cow there’s a cow on a tree like when in life have you ever seen a cow like on a tree

I mean is that like oh wow a really weak cow the heck oh i thought it it’s beef just evaporated that’s what it looked like for a moment evaporating beef it’s the newest craze leaves you’re kind of hungry afterwards though but oh well all right let’s see any other cows or miscellaneous

Animals i can smite with my sword see looks like there’s still plenty of time in the day definitely want to get that farm going what i really want to do i want to build my house and base kind of thing over in hermitcraft i just don’t want it to look

Like a hermit town i just don’t want it to look like garbage i mean you know no cobblestone garbage should at least look somewhat classy i i can do that it’s just trying to get the resources early on you know you don’t always have access to everything although

Realistically i should really grab some of this sand here because i’m going to need some glass and it’s always good to have sand but glass is definitely a big help i’ll be able to do plenty with that make some windows you know just try to keep it classy

I can make some stone bricks get some wood maybe yeah i could i could do something i just like to get maybe some better tools so slow with these stone tools you know all right let’s see alrighty then um do i want to go for it

Or not i just don’t know it’s so tempting i guess i could take this pile here i don’t like to let the water flow you know all right there we go and let me see i actually got more than a stack i mean that’s probably more than i needed

I guess you can call me the sandman all right let’s take some of this sandman with a plan i need to make sure i can find my way back home though that’s the only problem well okay it’s not the only problem i guess i have a few other problems that could arise

Such as a creeper or a skeleton or a pack of zombies or something i mean i don’t know i really don’t run out of food that wouldn’t be good no that wouldn’t be good at all i should really get cooking this beef um i’m all full i don’t really need this

Yellow flower do i well maybe for dying things hmm i say i’m just going to make some torches and be done with it i got like 60 coal all right let me get some more of this maybe i can make something look nice with this i kind of like the light

Um the light color tone of the the birch wood planks they look nice it’s kind of a big fan of that mixing that and some spruce wood oh no is it worth it it’s worth it yeah showed you who’s boss just think i was afraid of wimpy old zombies all right let’s see

There we go um should probably do the noble thing toss my cobblestone on the ground um that’s not what i was planning of course i was just talking about replanting the saplings just i don’t know it’s a courteous thing to do i’m such a courteous fellow

All right um might as well pick this up because i might genuinely need it uh i don’t need this wooden pickaxe anymore it’s time to let it go all right this has probably been a lot of fun right um yeah so i’m just gonna head back on over to the base

And we’ll see what’s going on i should probably get some water too well look at that i found some cows hopefully we don’t need these cows i could always go to that trampling place the stomp place remember but ah they’re right here i don’t think anyone needs these cows

If they did they’re sure abandoned pretty darn well um could use some leather though i don’t think i need a spider eye at this moment cow tipper oh my i tip well oh okay let’s see so much junk in here oh i probably don’t need all these and her pearls not me

As for the sheep sorry sheep i can’t shear you can’t shear you i mean it could but i’m just not going to it’s really what it boils down to all right i need to get out of here let me get that sheep do i have two wool i need one more sheep

Oh and it has to be a black sheep doesn’t it uh where did it go i just want three so i can make a bed where did that sheep go oh my goodness it just it vanished i mean you saw that black sheep right

Oh i did it i didn’t think i’d make that jump actually i thought i’d fall a little short oh my goodness where on earth did that sheep go i don’t want to be out here but i need that bed i need that bed oh sheep sheep where’d you go where’d you go no

Um there it is you all right i need to get rid of something for that wall okay i got the wool i guess i’ll just get rid of those under pearls okay um now the question is how the heck do i get back oh no there’s a zombie there

I’ll just go over there then hmm it probably would have been a good idea to remember where my base is all right let’s see if i can do that i need some food um let’s see did i bring my yeah i brought some wood with me so i’ll just set up shop

Okay here we go um well it’s not going to be that elegant but it’ll at least get the job done let me just set up a chest really quick here i guess i got to do a crafting table for it first um set this up oops let’s just kind of put everything away

Except for this because i need to make a bed because i just remembered i don’t think i’ve set my spawn yet so let’s just do that i don’t think it’s actually going to turn it today but i think that’ll set my spawn um and i need to start cooking some things don’t i

Well i’m going to have to do it later actually i guess i’ll just munch on some raw chicken it’s good for you right i know i’m so good all right let’s see new hermit town let’s get cruising whoops i gotta watch my health there oh my

There we go all right there should be a healing thing over here there he is whoa oh right in the knee oh man i’m not even gonna make the the whatchamacallits the jokes what isn’t this schisms oh okay oh that’s awesome oh look at all that oh man that is just perfect

Oh man hi jevin i tell you that is awesome here i felt like i was slumming it up i tell you now i’m moving up to the big leagues well that is perfect oh yeah well i think it came back to me i saved his life from that skelly and was rewarded

Look at me hip i’ve already got my diamonds where you at huh oh that’s great actually this is perfect now i have some stuff that i can actually get started building my house and feel a little bit protected and i’ll even have some steak that i can start cooking

So that’s good and why am i still lugging this thing around yeah there we go i bet i look like a boss over there with hypno just now you know just chilling there with my diamond armor and my stone sword nothing screams intimidating like you know all of that yeah that’s pretty intense

As for that cow over there i’m sorry buddy but i’m hungry it’s either gotta be you or me and it’s it’s gonna be me so steak oh man let me get out of here all right well it’s not much but it’s actually a start now and i feel pretty good about this

Oh my um i feel pretty good about this setup right here um i need to find my base of course but i can do that in the morning i can get my stuff later um and maybe i’ll play around with the a basic house it won’t be much but i could

Probably do something i don’t know what though but just something that kind of looks nice um yeah but i think this is probably as good a spot as any to leave this episode off now that oh i need to eat more more foods um but yeah so
