Today we’re reviewing the tapes to find the most confidential stories behind the scenes of Henry Danger. Keep your eyes open for the details, it’s time to deep dive some of the on-set secrets. Fact number 12: Each episode begins with what’s called a table read, where the cast and crew read the script For the first time and make any necessary adjustments. Next is the rehearsal, where actors get a chance to memorize their lines and figure out where to stand on set. And finally, the finished product. Let’s see this whole process play out. Henry enters and looks for Piper, but she is nowhere to be found. Piper? I’m under the table. – Wait, what? – [chuckling] He looks very confused and checks under the coffee table. – [Piper] The kitchen table! – Right, got it. What are you doing under the table? I messed up my hair. Okay, come on, Piper, I’m sure it’s not that… Oh, my God! What happened to your hair?! What about more intensive episodes, like Henry Danger: The Musical? That takes us to fact number 11. This episode required the extra step of learning dance choreography before rehearsal. That’s a lot of material to memorize. Three hops. One, two, three. And punch here. [fast tempo music playing] ♪ So they’re squaring off To fight, like for real! ♪ ♪ His arm is drawing back ♪ ♪ Here comes the punch attack ♪ ♪ One, two, three ♪ And to make things even tougher, fact number 10. Most of the cast and crew Were sick during the making of the musical. Jace and I are both sick today, But we’re going to power through. ‘Cause that’s just who we are. ‘Cause we’re just professionals. This take brought to you by antibiotics. Try and find the shots where it looks like Jace and I are about to pass out. Yeah, that’s how you know that it’s, uh… It’s the real deal. [groaning] What troopers. Fact number 9: The Christmas episode was actually filmed during a heatwave in June. So we’re filming our Christmas episode right now. Even though it’s hot outside, it’s really cold on stage, So I’m kind of glad to be in this Christmas gear. Right now it’s June, it’s super hot outside, but we got the A/C going on in here, so it’s cold. Um, but it’s weird to shoot a holiday episode in the middle of the summer. We shoot the Christmas episode in June because it takes everyone a while to get everything gathered together and edited, and there’s quite a few special effects, and so we have to shoot it months in advance so that it’s ready when it needs to be. And speaking of special effects… Let’s light this tree before everybody in Swellview wakes up. Fact number 8: To make the effect of the Christmas tree catching fire more realistic, the tree was equipped with special fire-colored blinking lights and a smoke machine. The fire itself was added during editing with pyro effects. – Not our day. – Nope. Not our day. Nope. Fact number 7: Not only is every driving scene done against a green screen, but there’s always a crew member present whose job it is to shake the car for extra realism. – Saved Christmas! – We did, we did! – What was that? – I would be crazy swole If I had that job! Anyway, let’s look more into those green screens. Fact number 6: Some of the more elaborate action scenes require a lot of green screen backgrounds. This helps the computer effects artists cleanly remove the backgrounds from the actors and adding their own backgrounds. Even the wires holding up Kid Danger and Captain Man are painted green to more easily remove. And the final result is a thrilling skydive onto a blimp. [screaming] [grunting] Fact number 5: Every single screen, be it TVs, phones or computer readouts are filled with green screen inserts. If you look closely, there are these little symbols on them. This is to help the computer effects artists track any movement of the screens and keep their replacement images in place. ♪ Doo-bee-doo ♪ Fact number 4: One of the trickiest uses of green was not in the background or a screen, But an entire person! For the climactic fight scene in this episode, a stunt person was covered in a green suit with motion trackers intact and later replaced with a fully computer animated character. What we do is we outfit the stunt guys with a suit. What this does is it allows us to capture The movement of the stunt guy and put it into the computer to which we can then apply a 3D model to and make them look however we want. Talk about taking a show to the next level! And, speaking of stunts… Woo! What?! Fact number 3: Every character in the series has a stunt double for the particularly dangerous moments. Oftentimes, the stunt double looks nothing like the actor, but a little makeup, matching costumes and clever camera placement hides the trick very well. Oh… What?! Fact number 2 contains another hidden actor. Did you know that the Mole Queen is actually played by Piper? Well, I could tell you, but I’d rather leave you in the dark! It took several hours of makeup and costuming to transform her into the mole monarch. Mole people are everywhere! Side note, Mole Monarch would make an awesome band name! [laughing] That was weird, right? And last, but certainly not least, fact number 1. Henry Danger has had its fair share of crossover episodes, be it Game Shakers, Knight Squad, All That, The Thundermans, or even a cameo appearance from iCarly’s Freddie, played by Nathan Kress. Could someone get my manager, please? Did you know that Nathan actually stepped into the director’s chair for 11 episodes? Including this hilarious episode, “Whistlin’ Susie”. Here he is planning out a fun slapstick gag. Cooper is sitting on the end. He gets salsa in his eyes and spills the drink on Whistlin’ Susie, which is leaning right here. – [sneezes] – Eww! [screams] My face! Schwoz! I have to say, this take is filled to the brim with fun Nickelodeon facts. Wait, uh, something’s wrong. Let me check the tape. Whoa, yep! Very, very too full of Nick facts.
