Mr Beardstone – I built a COMPACT MOB FARM in minecraft create mod

Last episode I built my perfect crate starter house with most of the basic machines I’ll need to get started but to complete it we need brass So today we’re going to go to the nether capture a Blazer 3 enter the brow sage and make a

Mob farm like no other so we can upgrade and enchant our gear and I guess there’s no time like the president for an adventure to the nether right but to make that happen I need a little bit more obsidian so let’s head into the mines and grab some and you may notice

In the top right we’ve got a different mini map and that’s because I was having a few problems with frame rate and resource usage and uh yeah it turns out that was Journey map hogging everything so let’s swap that out and we’re using Zero’s map now which is great because

Well I can have my render distance much higher than before I’ve also been doing a little bit of mining as you can see mainly just to get some diamonds and then I found this monstrosity look at this there’s like 18 diamond blocks there I’m not gonna lie that’s half the

Reason why I do actually want to make sure we can enchant some stuff today because I need a fortune pick I’m not wasting that Mega vein of diamonds but I’m down here for some lava for now so let’s grab some of this obsidian acquired let’s go check out the

Nether although actually before we do that we should probably get one more thing because what we’re going to the nether 4 is to capture a few Blazers and for that we’re gonna need to make ourselves a few Blaze cages first ah it turns out we need another rack for that

So we need to go to the nether but that’s fine we can take a bunch of iron sheets with us and thanks to our backpack we can craft on the go so let’s just make a bunch of iron sheets with our lovely Smasher we should probably

Grab a flint and steel as well and a bunch of blocks so we’ve got everything we need I’m just going to dump a portal down here for now it’s just down by our Lake we’ll make it all look nice later but I just want to see what’s on the

Other side that’d be Soul Sand don’t be so Sam don’t be Soul Sand oh for once it wasn’t actually Soul Sand although I do appear to be in a cave this is not ideal and what is this scoria oh that sounds fun let’s grab some of that and of

Course we need a whole bunch of Netherrack just so we can make some Blaze burners let’s quickly do that so let’s just make a whole bunch of those and let’s go find ourselves a fortress and in fact if we look on our mini-map it looks like there’s one not too far

Another Basin and in the theory that should be all we need and to make brass we need copper and zinc Ingot so let’s just quickly cook up a little bit of copper so let’s put lava in there and the copper on there we’ll Chuck the zinc

In the bowl nice and ready now the Copper’s down we’ll throw that in the pot as well and then if we just give this some heat in theory we should end up with brass yep look at that at the top there it’s converting everything into brass we

Should actually get two stacks from that marvelous now we’ve got a bunch of brass I can finally make my poker so what we need is a brass hand to begin with so I need some brass sheets but we also need an electron tube and for that we need

Polished rose quartz and we can make rose quartz I believe yeah just with a bit of redstone and some quartz that should be easy enough we’re also going to need a piece of sandpaper so let’s get that in and we’ll just make a bunch of these and if we held the Sandpaper in

Our offhand and the rose quartz in our main hand and just hold right click we will then get polish rose quartz look at that simple so now we can make our electron tubes and get ourselves a deployer and this thing’s awesome because what we can do for example is if

We were to give him a piece of sandpaper he’ll make all the Polish stuff for us he’s a good poker and I feel like we’re making some great progress already that’s the first thing ticked off the list brass Acquired and now our starter house is also just a little bit more

Perfect so the next thing I want to do is make use of this our wonderful enchanting setup but to do that I’m gonna need some levels and to get levels we’re going to make ourselves a lovely mob farm but as we’ve got the create mod we’re going to do things a little bit

Differently thing is in order for us to do that we need to go on another adventure because create mod has well a very high dependency on belts and conveyor belts and things like that but for those you need kelp and currently I don’t have any kelp whatsoever because I

Haven’t found an ocean yet so I guess the first step is probably going to be to grab our compass and see if there’s actually an ocean of any type nearby well there’s a cold ocean 6 300 blocks away that’s quite far oh there’s a lukewarm ocean not too far 3 300 blocks

That’s okay so it looks like our best bet is the warm ocean which is in that direction which is somewhere we’ve not been before so I guess it’s time to take horsey who could probably do with a name actually this dude does not have a name

Getting hold of this mod pack or the mod lists and I will be releasing it but at the moment I’m still tweaking as you can see by the fact we’ve just swapped out the uh the journey map for zeros map but once I finalized the mod pack and

Stopped making changes I will release a full list of what I’m using including all the versions and things like that and if I can find a way I may release it as a pack as well well the weather’s turned a bit nasty but there it is there is our ocean and more importantly

There’s all of our kelp let’s go get what we need got a buttload of kelp and that should be more than enough to get us started we’ll turn some of that into belts and we’ll saw the rest that’s a whale did you see that he just popped into existence that thing is ginormous

Now that I had my kelp I figured I might as well take a little bit of time and explore the ocean I did have a boat after all and on this journey we got our first Enchanted Apple we got attacked by a swordfish that was a skeleton oh no no

No no no no no no no what is that it was very confusing he even chased me onto land bit rude if you ask me we also looted a couple of shipwrecks got stalked by a whale and slept on the bottom of the ocean but our journey

Didn’t stop there we soon voted into a lush cave I managed to grab myself some glowberries and while I was there I took the opportunity to dig up a buttload of clay We sailed for another day and a night but we were still stuck in the

Jungle in the middle of the third night I realized I was probably quite far from home by now so I checked out my map and realized yes I was very far from home well the next morning we’ve made it back to shore without incident which was promptly followed by an incident

Oh we got robbed story bread cheek and then located by Steve to start the long journey home found a couple of Komodo dragons having a fight fell down a hole but eventually we got back unscathed all in all that was quite the journey and now we’ve unpacked I think

We’re good to finally start this mob farm and this mob farm isn’t exactly the smallest thing in the world so I need to find the right place to put it hmm I wonder I’m thinking I might put it over in this corner here but we’re gonna need

To clear a little bit more space so let’s widen out the area flatten out a little bit and then we’ll figure out if we can fit it in here or not so something around this sort of size should work I would imagine we basically

Need to make a 9×9 Cube and then wrap a building around it as well as a few other bits and Bobs I think the next thing to do is to build up this platform proper and then I’m gonna need to make all the bits I actually need for the

Farm I’ve got the platform in the start of the building marked out and I’ve also constructed everything or hopefully everything that I’m going to need to be able to build this farm so I think the first thing I want to do is build the floor of the farm and I think probably

About here should be a good place to start so we can always adjust things if we need to so we’re going to put a line of nine shafts eight blocks this way and then put another shaft there and also make this one nine long then we’ll connect these two rows with belts and

We’re just gonna encase all of these as well mainly because it looks better and I’m also going to block off the bottom here as well but another conveyor in here I think that should work and this is of course gonna be for moving the mobs around but in order to make all

This work we do of course need some power so I’m thinking we can probably just stick a bunch of water wheels underneath hopefully more than enough power for what we need but it means that if we do expand this later on we’ve got the additional power spare if we just

Put water on this side that should power all of them yep beautiful look at that then we’ll use some cogs to stick these together but we do really want to increase the speed on this however now we’ve got access to Brass we can actually make ourselves a rotational

Speed controller so let’s go get that done and this is where our poke is going to come in handy so first off we need a gold sheets let’s get that and then we’re going to stick that onto the poker here and then we’re going to give it a small coat thank you

And then a big and then an iron nugget and that’s basically making this thing here and we just need to do that five times and there is a small chance it will fail but hopefully it won’t and this should be the last one and look at that excellent so we have ourselves a

Precision mechanism and now we just need a brass casing which works exactly the same as the andesite ones except well instead of hitting it with Anderson alloy you just hit it with a bit of brass and now we can get one of these which is going to be absolutely amazing

For us so if we just stick this on the back here what this does is essentially at the moment it’s just working a bit like a shaft but we have this and what I can do is change the direction and the speed of this thing so if we put it to

256 and then I put a cog in the top look how fast that’s going and that means that these conveyor belts are going to fly which will make the mobs move around a lot faster and get them out of the way the only downside of course is as you

Increase speed everything takes more stress to run but the upside is that conveyor belts don’t actually go against the stress it’s just going to be for the machines that we put in here and to get this power up to here and we’re just going to use some of these encased chain

Drives look at that that’s some Speedy conveyors I do also need to power this conveyor however so I think what we’ll probably do to keep it nice and simple is just go this way a couple more chain drives and then just get these connected up stick a gearbox on the corner and yep

I’d say that’s probably going the right direction that’ll work nicely so at the moment the mobs are going to come flying across here go down onto this one we will put up some glass in front here so they don’t actually just go flying over there somewhere that would not be

Helpful and then what I want to do is actually push them up a tube and I could use a water tube but where’s the fun in that when we’ve got the create mod but for this I’m going to need an encased fan so we need more iron sheets so we

Can make a propeller and then get ourselves a fan so we’ll have a vertical gearbox on the bottom stick a fan on top in fact let’s not Crouch while I do that and then I should be able to place it the right way there we go and then we just need to transfer

This power over to here and I think the fans blowing the wrong way which means we need to put another gearbox in there there we go excellent so if we jump in here now look at that the fan throws us up and then that throws us off that

Throws us back in the van oh we’re probably gonna die well I could have thought that through a little bit better couldn’t I we’re just gonna have to work around my body for a while sorry buddy right let’s not jump in that again what we’ll do now is just

Get this thing enclosed and for that we need a whole bunch of tinted glass and some screws for the sides that should just about do it I’ve also put in the transfer pipe for the mob so they’re going to get blown up this tube we need

To put a couple more fans at the back there so we can blow them across here and then they’re going to drop into this Kill Chamber here and to kill them we’re once again gonna be making use of create so first up let’s make ourselves a deployer and a couple more fans then

We’ll put the deployer there although I think I want to rotate him round let’s do it like that and we need to get this guy powered so I think the best way to do that is probably just going to be to connect up to this one here so just a

Couple of gearboxes like that vertical one there and just a shelf should do this nicely yep look at that it’s doing its thing but if we right click on the deployer you can see we can put it into attack mode so it has use and attack

And then if we give it a sword in fact we’re going to set the sword filter as well which will become important later and we give this guy a sword he will basically kill anything that’s in that spot and you can also go through blocks

So we can do that the mobs can’t get out but they can get killed the other thing to note about this is when the deployer does kill something it’ll pick up what’s been dropped so we then need to extract everything out of the back of this and I

Think I’ve got an idea of how we can do that so well not like that for a start but if we put a shaft here and then extend it that way and then stick another shaft here get those attached with belts that’s Amanda side casings in

There and then basically we just need a bunch of funnels so let’s go make some funnels and some drawers we’re gonna need some drawers too and while I think of it I’m also going to need a couple of Hoppers so we just need to make a bunch

Of these which are andesite funnels now let’s go finish off this setup and hopefully it’s gonna work so what I need to do is I’m actually gonna need more Hoppers than this I need five poppers if I it will go this way to make it a

Little bit better for us but what we need to make sure we do is because although this does pick up drops sometimes it can’t quite pick up everything so if we put hoppers in here as well and feed those onto the belt that’s going to guarantee that everything that’s dropped is then sent

Over this way but I should have brought more Hoppers so let’s just chain these round like that and we’ll stick one more Hopper on top there with a draw did I make the drawers I’m sure I did yep there we go and then what we can do is

Just feed iron swords into this because they will still take durability so that’s the one downside to this we will need to restock it with iron swords every now and then but these drawers will allow us to stack up a bunch of them so hopefully that will be good

Enough at least to get us started so to get the rest of this setup done we’re going to put a barrel there and then we’ll put a line of drawers I could do with another one and then we’re gonna Crouch click these funnels onto the back

Of them and what they’ll do is they’ll pick stuff up off of the belt for us we’ll Place one here that we’re not crouching for and we’ll Crouch click one onto there and all that’s going to do is actually transfer the items from this line onto this line so they’re just

Going to go via the barrel but also stick one on the back of there and as you can see from the arrows this is going to eject things from there this is going to take things in that’s going to eject things and all of them are going

To take things in so that should be the setup we need so let’s go get these fans in and then I guess once we’ve got a roof on it’s pretty much ready to run we’re just gonna have to make it look nice should probably stick a few torches

On this for safety as well and while I think about the last thing I need to do is actually block off the bottom here because light will travel through these conveyor belts and we definitely don’t want that all right I think we’re good what is that

Just live up here for now well following that slight distraction I think we’re ready to apply the one missing piece to this Farm the mobs but for that we need to craft a couple of things first and to be honest I need to sort out my inventory too and what we

Needed was one of these which is a cart assembler and it has a very unique property in that basically whatever’s above it it will essentially turn into a Contraption it’s kind of hard to explain it’s probably best if I just show you so if I put a minecart underneath it there

And then I power this not like that but maybe like that what that’s actually done is made this block movable so that’s now attached to the minecart and if we could literally build massive Contraptions attach them to a mine cart glue them all together and and make

Movable things which is going to come in very handy later in the series but a very unique thing about these is they can also be used to move blocks that are usually immovable and that means we can also use it for stealing spawners look at that see how it’s turned off that’s

Because it is now attached to this Minecart which makes it a Contraption and we’re gonna move this spawner all the way up to our brand building so let’s give it a little nudge push it into this tunnel here and look at that we’ve managed to get it onto another

Track so yeah conveniently that was actually directly under our base which was very handy but now we need to get it up inside here and I think the first thing we’re going to do for any of that is to actually turn off that Cog because I don’t want to get thrown around inside

The machine I just don’t want to ever feel out of control like that ever again so we want to get it into this position here so we need to bring track up to that stage right I think we’re ready to set it up and hopefully get it into

Position and for that we’re going to use a classic here we’re going to use a furnace Minecart so let’s just get this up the slope first Jam a load a coal in that and that should hopefully get it into position off you go look at that

Perfect and in theory if I just break this Minecart now it should activate the spawner yes look at that it’s amazing so let’s just quickly clean up in here okay let’s turn that off well we’ve definitely got skellies and if we just put this big Cog back in here we

Should hopefully start seeing the skellies coming over here oh look at that there’s loads of them already amazing although I think I need to upgrade this to a brass funnel just so we can empty out a bit quicker so something I forgot is the andesite funnels will only remove one item at a

Time from from this for example so we need to get rid of that and put in a brass funnel and that means it will it will still be one item type but it will actually do a whole stack at a time and that means this thing is going to empty

A lot quicker because if this has anything other than the sword in its inventory it actually stops firing and we want that to be going as much as possible and the drops we’re getting are of course bones and arrows but most importantly at the moment we’re getting

These nuggets of experience and you may be wondering why we have all these extra ones here as well and that’s because there’s nothing stopping us putting more spawners in there and therefore getting more different types of mobs more mob drops and so on and I think for now I’m

Just going to remove these three funnels so they don’t pick anything up and well we don’t really want the bows and armor and things that the skellies are going to be dropping so I think I might just stick a bucket of lava down here there

We go and that’ll burn any of the excess drops good stuff so I guess the only thing left to do now is apart from waiting for lots of experience to build up so he can actually enchant ourselves is to actually make this look nice because this is an absolute monstrosity

And the writing’s really not helping either is it let’s be honest thank you Foreign and I think we’re just about done that is looking pretty cool I’m liking how it’s turned out the Vats work really well we’ve got some pipes that don’t really do much of anything but these Vats are actually useful you notice I have liquid experience in here and

That’s because of a mod called create enchantment industry which adds this a disenchanter it also adds a few other things but we’ll get into that much later in the series but mainly it has this and that means that when stuff is killed and it has you know maybe an

Enchanted bow or Enchanted armor it will come along the conveyor belt and then it will Roll Along here and if you say just there even if I stand on it I think it actually just just at my experience as well but it drains the experience and

Then it stores it in these Vats and there are ways we can utilize that experience but it just means we’re actually making use of some of the stuff over here that’s actually just going into lava directly after that so on the inside here it’s quite compact but it

Does the job you can see stuff getting killed we can stock up on swords we’ve actually got through 13 of them so far but look at this we have 2.4 K nuggets of experience although how much experience do they give oh we’re gonna be enchanting in no time adjust that’s

Another example here I can’t stand on this and it’s just drained all the experience directly out of me and that’s now in the vat as well but the Palm’s been working great we’ve also got almost a thousand bones and to be honest I’m probably gonna burn the arrows I don’t

Think I actually need these but I think style wise it doesn’t tie in quite nicely and as we expand this area further with other little buildings and smaller Farms I think this is going to look really cool all that’s left to do now is to make some Diamond gear and to
