Hey guys what’s up its mr. crayfish and welcome back to my redstone tutorials in this tutorial today I’m going to be teaching you guys how to build this magic 8-ball now if you don’t know what a magic 8-ball is it basically tells you your fortune so you go ahead and you ask It a question such as does crayfish like cheese and we go ahead on the side here we’re going to shake the bowl up and then if we go ahead and open up this hopper at the back here it’s going to tell us our fortune don’t count on it I love cheese uh it might be correct though let’s do it let’s test it again does crayfish really like cheese it is certain hmm does crayfish love cheese outlook good all right it’s telling the truth thank you but you’re gonna lie to me there so this is a cool contraption that you could Build and play with your friends try to get some answers out of them you know now before I go ahead and show you guys how to build this we’re gonna aim for 2,000 likes right now so go ahead smack that like button let’s get it up to 2,000 likes show you support for this series because I know you guys are subscribed to see these tutorials and I love creating them for you guys so it’d be awesome to see you guys support for them and I’m gonna show you guys how you can build this now so the materials that You are going to need is seven redstone dust one redstone torch six redstone repeaters one hopper one dropper three note blocks two stone buttons or you can get wooden ones if you like two slabs of your choice eighty blocks of coal or you can get eighty black wool instead if you Want to be a little bit cheaper nine blocks of quartz and sixty four blocks of your choice so the first thing that we are going to do is build half of the eight ball because we need to do that first before we can actually start building all the Redstone Circuitry so let’s go ahead let’s get our blocks of coal here and what we’re going to do is create a 3×3 square of our coal blocks here so one two three one two three and one two three so it’s a 3×3 square there then what we’re going To do is come up on one layer and give this a basically a border so let’s go ahead and we’re gonna put two blocks on the corners here so create a border around it one layer up we’re not going to place blocks in the corners though then destroy these blocks here then what We’re going to do is get our blocks of choice and place it on the leftmost block of the border here so four of them and then we’re going to go ahead and do another border on the outside of this up one layer and go right around the edge And just destroy your blocks of choice again now my bad we’ve actually got to replace these three blocks here at the front with the quartz block so let’s just go ahead and replace them now so let’s just take out that block their place quartz there instead and then just Destroy these other ones then place two more quartz down like that to replace it and there we go now you just need to get back up there then we’re simply going to raise this border here up one more block so let’s go ahead and do that now so Near that quartz out so quartz on top of there and then coal around the edge again now what you want to do is get your slabs I’m going to come into the bowl here and what we’re going to do is in the center on the right and the left Sides here we’re going to place a half slab on the top half of the block like that and then in front of it we’re going to place our block of our choice we’re going to place two redstone on top of those blocks on each side then turn Around and face to the front what we’re going to do is place our block of our choice one there one there and then one there we’re then going to lead a redstone repeater into the center block here on each side then under this block here place a piece of redstone dust in Front of that redstone dust we’re going to place a new block and then diagonal down to the left here we’re going to place a block with a repeater coming out of this block here we’re going to lead that into a note block so shift or crouch and then right click so we don’t Affect the repeater timer there then from here we’re going to do a diagonal down to the right repeater coming out of this neat block and then again we’re going to leave this last repeater here into another note block and then again Crouch from right click to not affect that delay under This end note block here we’re going to place a piece of redstone dust we’re then going to place redstone repeater going into this coal block here redstone on top block in front of the redstone here and then torch on the right side redstone repeater coming out of the Torch here going into that block there block on top we’re then going to destroy this block here we’re going to get our dropper place it behind this block here facing towards the back and then get your hopper and place it so the funnel goes into the front face of this block Here so Crouch right click now we’re simply going to complete the construction off so get your blocks of coal out and we’re going to continue building this upwards so do one more layer on the edge here and then we need to go back in again so We’re going to place blocks down on the center of each side here and when you get out other blocks as well so go in three and then finally the last thing we’re going to do is create that 3×3 cube at the all square at the top here And then destroy your blocks of choice and then finally get your buttons and then place them on the left on the right side on the center block and that is the construction complete now what we’re going to do is now configure the messages now let’s go ahead and let’s Configure the messages now so you’re going to need nine pieces of paper and one anvil let’s place the anvil down now and let’s start renaming them so now a proper magic eight-ball actually has twenty possible answers but in Minecraft we’re actually limited to nine now the Answers we’re going to use I’m going to put them in the description below so you guys can check them out and I choose the ones you want but you want to choose five positive answers to neutral answers and then also two negative answers that’s kind of the best combination to Make it more realistic to a real 8-ball so I’m going to do my positive messages first so the first one I’m going to do is it is certain so that’s one of them without a doubt next one is going to be yes definitely outlook good and finally my last Positive message signs point to yes now for my neutral I want to do ask again later cannot predict now and finally my negative messages don’t count on it my sources say new so that is our nine messages five positive to neutral and two negative so what we’re Going to do now is go back into our ate bowl here and then what you want to do is place those nine pieces of paper in the dropper over here doesn’t matter which order you put them in because this dropper here will dispense randomly now Let’s cover that back up and now we are good to go again outs worth mentioning real quickly I kind of forgot this you can figure the tune here as well so we might do leave that on one one two three four five one two three four five six Seven eight nine ten and that should give up a nice tune when we press the buttons so let’s test if this is working right now so a question we might ask is is this working seems like it is yes definitely it knew it knew that’s the that’s the powerful magic 8-ball for you Now it’s that point in the tutorial where I’m going to teach you guys how this works so let’s go ahead and let’s go into the insides of the magic 8-ball again so what happens when somebody actually presses that button there that button is on this block here which is Right next to this redstone so it powers this redstone it goes in this block here this repeater picks up the signal from that block it goes into this block here and if you remember under that as a piece of redstone dust so that redstone does powers it’s Nate block giving off a Little tune it also powers this block to the next of it which this repeater picks up and then it plays the next note blocks this has got a one tick delay so this note block will go off then this one will then we got another repeater And finally ill play this last one this repeater here is going to this note block so it’s actually powering it so we put a piece of redstone dust underneath to capture it we send out we send that into a redstone repeater which goes into this block that this redstone dust is on Top of that also powers the redstone dust which that powers this block here which this torch is on and what this does is it empowers that torch I’m powering this repeater here and this repeater here is actually going to this block which when that block there is Powered it keeps any items in that hopper there inside of it so as you can see normally this would go into back into the dropper here but because it’s powered it stays in it but when it’s unpowered it releases the item back into the dropper here and then once this Torch turns back on it powers dropper and sends out one of these random messages into the hopper here and then that repeater again keeps that message inside the hopper there so I’d say really simple concept but is really awesome nonetheless now if you want to As well you can create a banner that has the number eight on it I’ll put a link in the description where you can find the recipe to actually create it but there we go you can put an eight on the front there at what I also like to do is Get a sign out and then whoops get a sign and then place that under that’s the shake and then at the back here I like to put your fortune awaits so that’s a cool little messages you can just put on to it just to add a little extra detail and A decoration so guys that’s going to end off this redstone tutorial today make sure you go ahead and hit that like button we’re trying to aim for 2,000 likes on
