Hello everyone my name is pixel riffs and welcome back to the Minecraft Survival Guide hope you’re having a good day today I’m out here kind of in the middle of nowhere although it is kind of close to some where we’ve been before if you remember the dark oak forest that I Visited probably in like episode I don’t know like 12 or 13 over this series I was actually out here harvesting some dark oak because I ran out of bonemeal I kind of I mean I’ve got little bits of bone meal here and there but I don’t Want to completely run out over at the base so I decided to come to the source of all of those dark oak trees and I’m just kind of like replanting some stuff on the surface but it got to nighttime and I thought I would dig down into it The bowels of the earth and do a little bit of mining for resources because I’m short on a few other things as well I’ve been collecting andesite and iron because I’ve been doing a bit more work on the storage system I need a bit more iron and I’ve been using a lot of Polished and a site for stuff over there but I dug towards some spider noises and ended up in an abandoned mineshaft and we all know what spider noises in an abandoned mineshaft mean I think we’re about to encounter some cave spiders which is good because it’s not something I’ve actually talked about in the series before and somebody did mention in a recent episode in the comments that maybe I should take another look at abandoned mineshafts because maybe I didn’t explore them quite so thoroughly in the last kind of set of episodes because I think yeah we encountered them Out of mineshaft in the introduction to enchanting episode but anyway I came down here I dug towards the spider noise I got through this room that had like a lake of lava in and stuff I came through to here and there was an emerald all Blocks at in the wall and that has kind of assigned to me I think just an omen that we need to explore this place so I’m gonna explore it a little bit carefully because I’m sure there are gonna be cave spiders around this corner I know that because I’ve actually just Killed one of them and there were skeletons and stuff hanging around as well oh there’s a the creeper stuck in the cobwebs over there well thankfully creepers and so forth are affected by cobwebs in much the same way the players are so we shouldn’t have too much of a problem Unfortunately spiders are not affected by cobwebs so I’m not sure which I think the spider spawner is definitely in that direction but these are cave spiders which are different from regular spiders do not let them touch you because they will inflict poison on you and that is Not something you want poison is a difficult effect to deal with down here especially if you have stuff constantly attacking you so we’re gonna have to break some of these cobwebs and yet they’re coming through okay there we go I’m hearing spider noises from this direction though is it possible we have A double spider spawner down here I’m actually gonna back off a little bit and see if I can make some shears because I don’t have any iron on me to make shears but I do have a little bit of iron ore so I’m thinking maybe I will Grab myself some shears and shear these cobwebs so I can save them instead of just breaking them all to turn them into string so bear with me while I smelt a little bit of iron folks while that’s smelting I actually want to go back into this cave system that goes in the Opposite direction and see if I can find something that I stumbled across a little while ago that is one of my favorite things to discover whenever I go caving here they are is this now if you end up in the cave underneath a biome where tall flowers grow stuff like This or occasionally like other types of flowers you will sometimes find that the flowers from the surface generate in these dirt patches inside caves and what we have here is a bunch of rose bushes some of which we already have over at the Harris but it’s always nice to have A few more we know it might need to make a little bit of red dye and they’re not going to be doing any good to anyone down here we’re also going to look into farming dyes at some point so I think we’ll probably end up doing that in a Future episode so there we go organize the inventory into the Shilka boxes got some shears on my hotbar and we are I think prepared to take on the rest of the spider spawner it’s always a bit of a hairy process not least because there are spiders around but look oh what’s that Did I just see some mossy cobblestone in the ceiling over there are you telling me we’ve got a spawner next to another spawner if we do this is incredible guys this is gonna be really really good now see if we have anything in that direction I think we’re clear yes it Feels like there is a spawner above there Oh amazing okay right well hopefully we should be able to disable the spider spawner if we can just get a little bit further down here and place another torch because then hopefully nothing will spawn around here in this Radius very very good good good good I’m gonna take this iron while I can as well so if we dig up to that and what kind of spawner this is I’m not hearing zombie noises so maybe it’s another spider spawner having a spider spawner atop a cave spider spawner would Actually be pretty special it seems like it might be or is that skeleton noises hearing oh if it’s skeleton noises hair oh yes I think it is a skeleton spawner oh my goodness me oh that’s fantastic alright all our prayers have just been answered by this place Oh Oh this is good hello fellas oh dear and he’s shooting the cave spiders towards me that’s hilarious ah how do we gonna deal with this let’s pop a torch on this guy in the middle of the room this place is all broken up by the mineshaft below that’s crazy And yeah that down there is the that down there is the the room with all of the cave spider spawner in Wow okay let’s try and take care of the skeleton so he doesn’t shoot us too much what’s in the chests now let’s take a quick look in these chests diamond horse armor For you bones very good fit of gunpowder and nothing too special but we have a skeleton spawner at last oh that’s exciting alright let’s just quickly add torches to the walls so we light up the corners make sure we don’t end up spawning anything else normally add a Couple of torches is enough to do that but once we start opening this out it’s gonna be good to have a bit of lighting down here so yeah we have a skeleton spawner here and we have a cave spider spawner over there that is going to be Pretty good as far as the the spawner game goes now I do I do worry a little bit about how exactly we’re gonna get this set up but the cave spider spawner and the skeleton spawner should be kind of compatible for a multi spawner setup If we do this right and while we’re at it we’ll just clear out the rest of the webs down here as well just in case because there’s not there’s probably not gonna be another spider spawner down this way unless oh my gosh there is oh Good oh good oh my days all right well the gravel is like falling through the cobwebs all slowly but that’s that’s three spoilers in close proximity okay this just turned into a very different project ladies and gents we have triple spawner on our hands and I am getting Very very poisoned by the spider ah let me get let me out I need to regroup over here I need to retreat a little bit and make sure that nothing is following me good good good I’ve still got my lighter on by the way hunt oh my my chest plate With me it’s still back in my ender chest but Oh ladies and gentlemen three spawn ‘iz are you kidding me oh this is gonna be so good I’m still hearing them in the walls over there please tell me there isn’t another cave spider spawner around here somewhere they probably just Spawned underneath this they’re all like down here somewhere I expect luckily cave spiders don’t have a huge amount of health so it’s relatively easy to just take them out with a good well-aimed swipe of a sword or a bow shot all right it’s finally starting to Calm down a little bit in here so what exactly is the radius of these spawn –is the the main thing to check here if we’ve got multiple spawn is in the same place is there a place where we can stand the way we’re going to activate All three of the spawner x’ at once you know what I think there is and I think it’s actually quite a large area you can just about see the skeleton spawner over there and when I get this far actually I’m right in front of the entrance to this mineshaft here and that spawner Over there is spinning up that one there is spinning and the furthest one away that skeleton spawner is also active so all of these are gonna start spawning mobs if we stand in this position here and then if we get a little bit further away yes this kind of like 3×3 square Here I think all of that is spawning space for each one of these spawner x’ that’s pretty good so in case it isn’t clear to anybody the reason this is so exciting for me is that there are three controllable sources of mob spawns in here and if we can harness these and Convert them all into something that will channel the mobs over to me so they can get killed nice and easily this is going to be not only a more productive string farm than the single spider spawner we’ve already got set up near the base but it’s also going to be a Source of bone meal and all of these mobs will give me XP so what we have here is a nice early game XP farm and while you can argue that I’m not really in the early game anymore and that there are better sources of experience like The double blaze spawner we have in the nether it’s still gonna be really good to have bone meal as a result here so if we can convert this into something that gets us a good amount of drops from the skeleton and spider spawners and some XP then that’s just maximizing the amount Of stuff we can get from these spawner x’ but each of these spawn is is going to behave basically exactly the same as the spider spawner we have a back at our farm house which means the main thing we need to do to start off with is to dig out the area Around them so that we can have the maximum spore Nobel space for each spawner which remember is a in nine by nine box with at least one block above and below and two blocks will probably make a little bit more sense here so after a bit of work digging this Place out and marking some territory I think we have figured out exactly where each set of entities is going to spawn so we have the skeleton spawner up here with a nine by nine area around it we have this cave spider spawner which is going to be a bit of a problem because The area of the skeleton spawner kind of eats into the spawning space for these spiders and my main hope is that we don’t get any spiders spawning up here with the skeletons because they shouldn’t do it’s usually a three-high box centered on the spawner so I expect That if any spiders were going to spawn where they would spawn would actually be where the floor is here so that shouldn’t be too much for a problem the main thing there is that whatever system we’re going to use to trap and kill the skeletons is probably not going to be Cave spider proof these guys can fit through a single block of space they are a little bit of a bit of a nuisance so we should probably make sure that if we end up testing the system in a minute these skeletons are coming through here spider free and this spider spawner over Here is going to be the one that will probably generate the most because it’s got the largest area for them to spawn it’s not kind of intersected by any other supporters and this nine by nine area here is where they’re gonna do that we still need to dig out a couple of Spots around here and I’ve investigated a little bit more of this mineshaft it doesn’t look like there are any other spawner x’ in it or if there are they are simply too far away for this setup to really be functional because remember you need to be within 16 blocks of a Spawner for it to spawn this area of mossy cobblestone here is the basically the range in which I can stand close to these spawner and have them all activate though the one exception to that is if I stand a little bit too far on this block No actually I think I think it’s okay maybe it’s this back block here yeah this this one here if I stand like this far back it’s not quite within range to activate that skeleton spawn if I stand on the very edge of this block here and this spider spawner turns off if I’m More than half way over these blocks here so that’s that’s the outer limit but if we stand roughly in the middle of this we kind of we have like a bit of wiggle room to either side all of the spawn is are going to stay active while we’re Down here which means we’re gonna be getting a ton of mobs coming through here the next step really is to figure out where each of these mobs is going to end up where we’re going to direct them using water streams to get them in an Easy place where we can kill them and I think we can have the skeletons turning up here sort of in between these two blocks about there and then have the spiders maybe on this side like so so we can step forward kill some skeletons step this way kill some spiders and kind Of keep the whole system running in the meantime the mechanism I’m going to use to kill the skeletons is actually one I’ve used a bunch of times on my channel before and it’s quite large requires a little bit of redstone wiring and so I think this space here this kind of empty Open space is gonna be the best place for it if I wanted to put it there just because it was convenient for it to be near the skeleton spawner we have to contend with the space of this spider spawner and end up losing a little bit Of space as a result in the meantime I think what we can do is have the water if we flow it in kind of this direction if it all heads this way then we can set up a tunnel that goes underneath the patch of mossy cobblestone we have there That’s marking out where we’re going to stand and have the cave spiders come up from this spawner and underneath here up to this spot here and that’s where we’re going to end up killing them and we’ll need to put a fence or something in the way some kind of cobblestone wall or Something to prevent the spiders from hitting us because they have quite a large hitbox and you don’t want to be poisoned whilst you’re farming some experience and strings so I don’t think that should be that should be a good start in fact what I’ve done is moved the Water sources one block back into the wall here so that they run to the seventh block of this nine by nine space allowing for a nice wide channel for the spiders to drop into and get carried under here by water streams mainly to avoid them climbing up walls too much Which I know happens all the time with cave spiders so we should probably avoid that if we can and I think if we put water sources on either side here and then have this section dip in the middle we should be able to get a nice easy channel underneath here that the spiders Can all just flow into unfortunately the best way to test this right now is going to be to take out some of the torches and allow the cave spiders to spawn so I’ll try and take out the ones that are a little bit easier to reach to see if Any of this actually works I’ve not done that much Cave spider spawner setups before so this could go very bad very quickly the good news is they don’t seem to be having any problem staying in the water which is fine and that guy has even made It to this spot so the single wide water stream should be enough but I think it’s probably going to be better if we actually Center these water streams and allow the spiders to flow through there so we’re gonna have to move our spider collection system over one block but Ultimately I think that’s not too bad of a compromise and if anyone’s wondering why I’m lining all of the walls down here with cobblestone it’s because once again it’s a material that doesn’t occur in caves naturally except in the exception of spawner so if I encounter cobblestone while I’m Digging around elsewhere in this mineshaft I know not to touch it because I’m about to break something okay now we’ve centered that on the spawner time to test this out again let me grab a couple buckets of water here just in case take out some of these torches and We’ll see how we get on with the cave spiders well I’ve immediately been poisoned so that’s a good start I think that guy is still tracking me but hopefully he should be able to make his way through here with a little bit of encouragement yes there we go okay and even though They are able to track me because this is an open area eventually it’s gonna be closed off and that means the spiders won’t necessarily see me it seems like they are having no problem filtering into this space and thankfully none of them are trying to climb the walls yet Either I said that too soon I said that too soon and with a little bit more setup taking care of the other cave spider spawner is gonna be directed into a tunnel that goes down into here like so and that’s gonna meet up with the original cave spider tunnel here now The next step is going to be getting them up there but that’s not something we need to worry about just this second one thing I do want to take care of is this water stream which is stopping because of the eight block flowing distance of water is stopping before it Manages to turn this corner and we need to extend that and I don’t think this is something I’ve covered in the series before so I should probably explain this this is a neat trick you can do with signs that allows you to set up flowing water across multiple sections without Having it stop at all and this trick will allow you to set up water streams that transport mobs for further than eight blocks so what you need to do is find the place where your current water stream ends place a sign on the block above that’s so that it doesn’t cut off this Water stream like it would if you placed it there and then place another sign on the next block along from that water stream so there and then what you want to do is place a water bucket there which is not going to flood out either of these two signs and even though it Looks like it is here believe me it is not and this actually continues the water stream in this direction because as soon as something comes around this corner it’s going to step into this next part of the water stream and this is it’s gonna push them around now there’s A potential for them to get stuck on this corner actually so I’m thinking maybe we should push this one step back so that when the water pushes them around this corner they’ve at least got a little bit of momentum to start off with and yeah it doesn’t get them caught On the corner that way if the water stream starts right there but then they should all end up in this spot and right now the water is flowing a little bit too far in this direction but that’s fine because we’re going to cut it off Here anyway so what we’d have now if we closed off these spawn –is took out the torches and stood over here it’s a system that would transport all of the cave spiders to roughly that spot there they might flow a little bit around the corner and I don’t think they would come Up to this fence post yet but that is what’s going to prevent the cave spiders from hitting us when we end up farming them for XP and string if that said having tested the system I don’t think it’s working all that well for cave spiders because there is a single air Block down here which they just sort of come to rest in and they don’t really move all that further from there so the system is definitely gonna work better for to block high mobs I’ll explain this in a moment because this is actually kind of pivotal to making this whole System work but behind here the cave spiders are actually funneling into this tunnel here instead of getting trapped in this water stream like I want them to be so we might need to do a little bit of rethinking here okay I think this is working a little bit better now I think That is working a little bit better I have to run in here and grab the XP real fast we should probably put in some sort of system that blocks that off later but with just one spawner spinning up over there we are getting a decent amount of Cave spiders drifting up to the top here that’s that’s pretty good alright time to shut this whole thing off and I’ll explain a little bit more about how this works so when the spiders come down here and they turn this corner they end up here where there is a single block taken out There and the water from here is flowing directly up over this cobblestone wall and the fun thing about walls and fences is that they will push you up to that one the half block height the water kind of flows towards this soul sand block and soul sand underneath water has the Opposite effect of magma blocks underneath water where it will create a bubble column that pushes items or entities upwards and that includes cave spiders now the problem with this right now is that when they start getting pushed up they actually get hung up on this block here but any time a new cave Spider comes through will actually continue to push them through and if we ended up blocking off the top part of this tunnel then they might actually come through a little bit more efficiently of course the problem with that is that cave spiders have a tendency to climb walls so whenever they Reach an area like this they have a tendency to stick on these leftover blocks that are here up on the ceiling but there’s not really a huge amount we can do about that and eventually their AI will convince them to path find off that block and hopefully they should Drop down into the water stream and into the system the next step is gonna be to do the same thing on this side here and we’re actually going to have to drop the water stream here by a couple of blocks which means probably replacing a bunch of blocks here in this tunnel and Finally finding where that zombie noises coming from get out of here you so now after a bit of rearranging this tunnel has turned out the same and all you need to do is have the spider drop into this section here it will get caught up in this water stream and there’s actually Two empty blocks behind here that the water is flowing into and that causes a little bit of a kind of suction effect that causes them to float into this area and into the system now of course this bubble column of water pushes the spiders up to the surface here where They collect in this block below the fencepost which once again is stopping them from hitting me if I stand too close and I think it’s time to take out all of the torches and try this out at full pace hopefully the spiders aren’t going to come climbing out at the sides Of these things and get me but the water streams are pretty well set up so I think sooner or later we should start to see a few spiders filtering into the system here yeah there’s still a couple of hiccups here but I think it’s safe to say that this is mostly working as Intended now if I can stand a little bit closer to make sure that the spiders XP gets to me but they don’t hit me that would be great oh yeah one of them has got now I knew that would happen sooner or later the cave spider hitbox is actually tiny Like you can barely even see it next to them but the range with which they can hit you at that poison effect is genuinely really large so this is a little bit tough it’s tough to stand next to this collect the experience and not get hit by them maybe if we put a Cobblestone wall here or something I can stand up against that nope it’s still hitting me okay looks like we’re just gonna have to do this very carefully from now on all right I think I’ve had enough I think I’ve had enough for now we’re gonna spend a little bit of time Making sure that some of these walls are a little bit less climb aboard I think we’re onto a winner here yeah this one here is definitely a problem this wall here seems to be blocking a bunch of the spiders I wonder if we can put a trapdoor on that or something like that That will prevent the spiders from climbing up there well having done my best off camera to try a couple of approaches to stopping the spiders from climbing the walls I think it’s probably just something we’re gonna have to deal with and move on for the time being but if you folks have any Tips any suggestions for stopping spiders from climbing walls I’ve tried trapdoors I’ve tried signs I think the main thing to do is just not give them any walls to climb which is a little bit difficult when it comes to redirecting them into a spawner kill chamber via These water streams but we’re not gonna have to worry too much about that in the long run we’re still gonna get our experience we’re still gonna get a decent amount of string and chances are we’ll probably just end up using the blaze farm in the near future anyway but I think for the moment we’re gonna carry on lighting this place up so this is my preferred way of lighting up individual spawner x’ when it comes to automating it with redstone a little bit we’re gonna have this lever here but all you need to do is turn that on and off and It turns off all the other lights in here immediately darkening the spawner and allowing stuff to spawn it’s nice and easy to set this up as well because all you need to do is have a redstone lamp in the middle with a block on top of it there we’ve got these levers there Just to turn them on for the time being but I’m gonna take those off in a second and you want redstone lamps at the same level around the outside in the middle of each of these four walls so each wall should be nine blocks long you want it On the fifth block and with a block below it like that so it stands at the level that’s above the top of the spawner which should potentially block anything from spawning with these five redstone lamps it’s also nice and easy to wire up all you need to do is Make sure you got a block on top of the redstone lamp here the one that you’re going to switch on and off and then run redstone dust into the middle like so and out to all four sides like this and the andesite blocks that I’ve placed on Top of these should give you a good idea of where exactly each of these lights is now there’s a little a little alcove in here that we need to light up to stop stuff from spawning in there but just continue the redstone dust to each of these four andesite blocks and that Should allow each of the redstone lamps underneath those andesite blocks to be powered which will switch them on I just need to grab a little bit more redstone dust so that we can add that last one to the circuit and there we go with the levers all taken off of these redstone Lamps or the adjoining blocks apart from this one here this is now the master light switch for all five of these redstone lamps you’ll notice if I turn this off the whole thing immediately goes dark and stuff starts spawning even though I’ve still got a couple of Torches in here just for the sake of safety for the time being oh and this guy’s giving me the runaround but with all this lit up we should now be able to start boxing off this spawner and getting it all ready all it looks like the hoos blocks have actually come Through the system and are bobbing up and down here ready to be collected can grab them through the back of the block like that I’ve been thinking about maybe using hopper minecarts in the corners here to collect some of the stuff that comes up to the surface collect any mob Drops and things like that it’ll say putting a hopper inside this actual system where for the most part we’ve just got water sources and things like that but you can of course decorate these spawn as how you want I prefer to surround them with materials that aren’t Natural to the cave but if you want to just box them off with cobblestone or something like that that’s totally fine I’m probably gonna make this one a little bit prettier before we finish up here now I’ve started to do the same thing with this spawner over here but The redstone has had to be a little bit more eccentric I guess to account for the fact that this spawner is actually within the bounding box of this spawner so we we’ve kind of had to improvise a little bit I’ve got a redstone current leading up to the lamp Here and it’s leading around the side here to the back because normally that Plus shape that I put over the top would actually intrude on the space where we’re going to fill this with water so that we can deal with all of the skeletons we’re gonna have To do something similar with this lamp over here as well but I think that should be easy enough to do so these are now both boxed in and working and I really like this design this is why I always end up decorating my spawn as Kind of like this we might still need to light up the outside we’re not worried about spiders spawning out here but then zombies and so forth could always spawn around here as well and I always leave in these kind of viewing ports on the sides using stairs so that you can see That the whole place is dark and that the spawner is working but the problem with this is that in the next update stairs are actually going to allow light through in these like spaces in stair blocks so unless you have full blocks here in 1.14 this might not work but as Of right now in this current version I’m using 1.13 it’s absolutely fine so you can can leave this in here to see if it’s working which it does seem to be and we have an awful lot of spiders over here right now so I’m gonna stay well Away from those try and take off my armor so that the mending effect doesn’t mean I end up with a ton of XP in my levels bar because I really want to repair my silk touch pickaxe that I’ve got in my off hand right now and here we Go hopefully we should get a decent amount of experience from this as long as I can get close enough to get the experience without being poisoned by one of the spiders and I can still hear some of the spiders getting caught down there and climbing up the walls and stuff but We don’t need to worry too much about that when we’ve got this many going through the system and after just a short time spent here my silk touch pickaxe is almost fully mended which makes me incredibly happy because now I can go down this corridor and finally Take out this block and get myself some emerald ore again yay all right well let me tell you briefly how this all works because there is there’s a little bit of extra stuff I’ve added in the meantime just to make it slightly easier for me to collect the drops from here I tried The minecart situation back here and it didn’t really work the spiders were pushing the minecart out the way they weren’t going all the way through the block which meant they weren’t collecting all the items and stuff there are still a couple of spider stuck in The system but most of them seem to be filtering through now so I think I will give you a quick demonstration of how this works so I’m going to throw in a stack of spider izing a stack of string and try to actually get them stuck in There yes there we go okay cool so they’re not gonna bob up and down on top this block anymore so when I pull this lever a couple of things happen first of all we have two Pistons back here one of which is currently powered by the lever And is keeping this block here in place the one that’s underneath next to this top water source and the other one down here is actually switching off this redstone torch that has a piston activated down there well the piston is currently deactivated but it will activate when the redstone Torch switch is on so once I’ve killed a bunch of spiders at the top here and all of their drops are just sitting here I pull this lever and that removes the block underneath there which causes the drops to flow using the water into this little catchment area here and thanks to This trap door the water actually stops there above that hopper allowing all of the items to just filter into it like so and as you can see all of that stuff just end up in the hopper I can collect it from that chest any time I like and I’m trying to have everything stack up in neat little rows here and the spider eyes are forcing me from this the reason for the second piston activating is that that actually pushes a block in the way of this water stream and stops any more spiders from floating up because if the Spiders got into this water stream here they would end up flowing to the right and they would end up flying out of this little kind of section here and attacking me and I’ve had to fight off a few of them while I was setting this whole thing up now when I flick the Lever again that trap door stays open because it’s still powered and I closed it manually the block there attracts and there are two slabs below there which are water log now let me give you a quick example of what this does so I’m gonna put a slab there and a slab there And I’m gonna water log both of these so that they actually form water sources let me just grab another bit of water here so a water source on this slab and this slab can actually create an infinite water source on the third block here and that infinite water source will Reform even if I push a block into it with a piston and retract it again see and this is useful because those bubble columns the sole sound bubble columns have to have water sources all the way up but if I just put two water sources on either side there and there the Spiders would be able to swim out into either of those two directions by putting the slabs there and water logging them it means the spiders can’t actually move into either of those two spaces but you end up with an infinitely refilling water source and that what the second person is doing pushing A block into that water source in the middle and then retracting it and allowing it to flow back in from either of those two sites it’s not a perfect system by any means but for now it’s working pretty well and I think I’m ready to get started on the skeleton Spawner and with the skeleton spawner I’m actually going to start by building the killing mechanism because that’s gonna determine exactly where we want to have the water stream directing the skeletons into and I don’t think I’m gonna build this entire thing on camera with you guys and go through a step by Step because for a start I’ve already got a tutorial for this elsewhere on my channel and secondly this video is already probably running a little bit long so I’m actually gonna get a lot of this done off camera but I’m gonna link you to that video on-screen and in the Video description now so if you want to head over to that and check out how this whole thing is built it’s actually originally a design by a guy called dirt crafter but I’ve modified it slightly to work in the most recent version of Minecraft it should work just fine on Bedrock as well and this is what it should look like when it’s all finished we’re gonna step on this pressure plate a bucket of lava is gonna come out of there we get to hit the skeletons up into the lava all of the XP and drops come out the bottom and get transferred Into this chest via this soulsand which is a wonderful block because it’s not a full block so it means that a hopper that’s underneath there can still pick up items through it and it’s already managed to kill a couple of skeletons that I ran through this thing as a test Run having said that I have not yet walled off this spawner and sorted out the lighting so that’s going to be our next trick and of course what we need to do is make sure we’ve got a lever down here that we can pull somewhere that will activate the lighting on this Spawner turning it on and off whenever we want to fight some skeletons I could attach it to the lever that activates this case by the spawner but I kind of want to keep these separate just in case I don’t feel like dealing with cave spiders at the time but the main Priority here is getting bones out of these skeletons but I’m gonna wall off this spawner and the water streams and stuff for it are all already done it’s pretty simple so I didn’t feel like showing it on camera it’s more or less the same thing we’ve done with the Spider spawner the main exception for that being that this row here is only a one block wide instead of two blocks wide because I wasn’t certain if the spiders needed to two blocks of width or not turns out they don’t really but again it’s a good way of keeping the Walls away from them the skeletons will just merrily bog through here they’ll go through another shorter water stream Coast over this head up into the soul sand chute that takes them directly up to this corridor and that drops them down into the main killing mechanism now it’s important to Note that this sign is here keeping the water from flowing down into that because if water flowed down on top of the skeletons they’d probably drown easier and it might also wash away some of the red stones so it’s important to pop signs or some other kind of block That can hold back flowing water in the event that you need to block a water stream so I’m gonna hop down here to break through this glass of my silk touch pickaxe and replace it once we’re done and it’s time to go find a bucket of lava well that didn’t take too long Did it and not only that but this mineshaft has actually got a whole bunch of diamond ore in it so I may as well do some lava around the corner here as well oh I might as well grab these diamonds while I can it’s a little bit dangerous Grabbing the diamonds right next to the lava but you know what we’re living dangerously at this stage oh we got some more diamonds over here and even some here as well this is the mineshaft that keeps on giving folks unfortunately it keeps on giving me zombies as well also got its fair share Of minecart chests or Golden Apple not too bad I guess we’ll take the rest of this later though my inventory is getting really full oh it’s always got space for more diamonds though go on then finally all the wiring is done the lava is in the machine and I think we’re Ready to call this thing wrapped up one of the things I do want to do before we wrap up today’s episode is wire up each of the spawner lighting systems to this kind of control panel I’ve set up over here by the entrance because I’m pretty sure I’m just gonna put a ladder Straight down here from wherever this comes out on the surface I think we’re in a mountains biome we must because there were emerald all blocks in the walls but I figure it’d be really great just to have three switches we could flip to turn on say like the spider Spawner x’ with these two and the skeletons with that one so that we can disable or enable each of them as we choose and generally speaking I’m probably going to want to have all of them on at once but there might be some times when I just want the skeletons or Just want the spiders if I’m specifically after bones or string something like that so yeah how about we do a quick bit of wiring now all we need to do is make sure that they are separate when they come into this control panel on the back and that’s as Simple as making sure we’ve got repeaters hitting each of these on the back face of this andesite like here one of the things I really don’t see people talk about often is that repeaters are really great for separating out sections of redstone dust and depending on which way you want the Current to go and for this first spider spawner it’s gonna be as simple as just connecting it up to this set of redstone dust up here and it looks like we’ll probably need another repeater in this to lengthen out the redstone circuit because yes something tells me that it’s Not going to reach all of the light we want it to so how about we pop another one in here I think this will probably be a good place to separate this out and at the real test of this is going to be taking out this lever and switching it On using this one now it has that lit up every single redstone lamp inside of here I think it has excellent stuff that is the first one wired up and we might see a few of the cave spiders just popping into this little patch over here not to worry skeletons hello Feel free to burn in the lava thank you kindly now this middle one is going to be tricky because it’s going to involve running the redstone back to that spawner over there which is going to require a couple of repeaters and we’re going to need to loop the redstone over The top of this tunnel or perhaps underneath just to make sure that it reaches its destination so definitely needing a couple more repeaters I should just make a bunch of repeaters at this point shouldn’t I oh look at that we nailed it right on the money I did have a quick diversion back here because I wasn’t certain quite how far along we were but yeah that has actually wound up right where we want it to right on the edge of that spawner could not have asked for better placement and it looks like the current is not quite Hitting all the lights in here it’s stopping oh it’s stopping one block away from each of those that’s a shame all right I don’t think we can move this repeater across any further because yeah that’s a power of one right now so yeah we’ll add in another repeater here I kind of want To keep the tops of these clean weirdly they’re not quite wide but there we go so that is spawner number two all wired up and all of the lights should be on this one I’m gonna probably get poison oh okay good nope looks like yep all the Lights are on in there fantastic stuff right just the skeleton spawner left to do and that’s all figured out as well although I haven’t actually removed all of the torches from in here so if you probably do that quickly and that should be everything all wired up and good to Go you can see all the lights are on that spawner there this one and that one now let’s turn all of these switches to the off position all the lights turn off and stuff start spawning fantastic this has been such a cool project to work on I’m so glad we Managed to do this in this series and this has been kind of a mammoth task I guess but I’m glad we’ve got it done so for those of you guys who are using the world seat I’m sure you’ve probably been champing at the bit to let me know Exactly where the coordinates of this are in case you want to use this yourself we’re about 1040 19 and 600 is where you’ll find this abandoned mineshaft all the spawn –is should be in the same places if you’re using the seed on Java Edition I should add sorry Bedrock players but I’m sure you guys will find something just as epic as this when you explore your own worlds for long enough well thank you guys so much for watching this I’m gonna file a bunch of XP and some bones and maybe tidy this place up so it’s looking a
