Nature’s Beauty – Ep. 1: It’s Finally Here! | Vanilla+ Minecraft Modded Survival

Hey guys Wells Knight here and welcome to a brand new long-anticipated series welcome to nature’s beauty this is the vanilla plus mod pack that I first teased over a year ago that I’ve been working on sporadically over the course of the last year and it is finally ready I’m so excited

You have no idea so we’re going to create a new world and then I want to show this just because some of you I know will want to play along with the pack and to create a new world and you go in here you’ll see biome bundle you

Can put in a seat if you want I haven’t checked any seeds we’re just gonna do random seed and then you hit create new world so well this is loading and everything and it’ll take a little bit too low but that’s fine well this is loading this is a mod pack that is

Heavily inspired by life in the woods Renaissance and the original life in the woods for that matter this mod pack is all about kind of the natural beauty of Minecraft this mod pack is all about the environment and creating atmosphere and all this other kind of stuff and I think

It’s gonna be absolutely amazing I am so excited but let’s get the world loaded up and then I’ll be back by the way did I mention that we’re gonna be playing this entire series with shaders yes we’re gonna be playing this entire series with shaders so the shader I’m

Using is Eddie’s v3 medium you could also use CUDA you can use pretty much whatever shader you want I find that Eddie’s and CUDA are two of the shaders that are better as far as like survival goes because they’re not a lot of shaders struggle from a problem where

They’re just like super super dark and if you’re in a cave or at night or something like that and it’s just not good for survival because you can’t see anything unless it’s during the day but I find that Eddie’s and and CUDA are not

Too bad at night they tend to be a lot brighter wow that Wow okay that’s a really good find we have a mending book and we are one minute into this world and we have another amend this is this is incredible we have to mending books that is like

The luckiest fine that we could possibly have hoped for that was unexpected there’s the seed in case you’re interested also before I forget do fire tic pulse excuse me I could have sworn I said enable cheats so I could do this but I guess not fine whatever this is probably the only time

I’m going to need access to commands anyway okay so let’s try and find some I mean I guess I can chop down I hate to here this will work I I hate leaving UFO trees around which are trees that are like half chopped but this will do this

Will do so as far as terrain generation everything goes it’s mostly biome bundle is the biggest one there’s a couple other minor ones as well there’s a lot of mods in this pack that are very kind of aesthetic in nature things to add more options for building but this is

Really a vanilla plus pack in this is there is nothing in this pack that I think would not fit into the vanilla game if Mojang were to decide hey I want to add this I don’t think anyone would be surprised by most of the changes made

With mods in this pack with a couple of minor exceptions like chisels and bits I don’t think chisels and bits would ever actually be added to vanilla but there’s really no there’s no magic there’s extremely limited tech but there are some options for kind of reducing

The vanilla grind and all that kind of good stuff so it’s gonna be fun and it’s a it is very strongly themed to have a vanilla style we’ll get into other mods as we also the pact is available right now on the twitch launcher curse launcher

Whatever you want to call it it’s the same thing it is available right now they’ll be a link in the description all you need is the the twitch app or the curse launcher or whatever you want to call it and then you can find the pack and

Download it and all that kind of good stuff so yeah that’s I think that’s pretty much everything I needed to cover right away at the beginning I’m just trying to think anything else I don’t think so I think that’s about it but we’re off to a really good start

Here mostly because of that mending book fine like that’s ridiculously lucky let’s just kind of gather up enough stone here for a furnace and might as well grab this iron – well it’s here right 20 that should be enough to last us a bit you can hear all the ambient

Sounds in the background ah it’s glorious let’s go and make wait I already made a pickaxe there we go like shovel and let’s also make ass warden there we go okay now that we have our necessary tools and things our number-one priority right now is food

Because food is not this is not a like super grindy pack with you know spice of life and hunger overhaul and all that kind of stuff but foods a little bit hard to come by in the early game our best bet I think it’s probably gonna be

These berries until we can find some animals and stuff like that and we’ll grab the berry bushes and take them with us as well because then we can replant them and get more berries you know when once we find a more permanent house shall we say oh man this is so beautiful

It’s absolutely beautiful I love it um let’s see got some slate here I should probably grab a little bit of coal since it’s right here steel a little of this figure if we get like I don’t know eight pieces that’s probably gonna be enough to last us a little while let’s grab

These berries as well eat a little bit of food and I don’t know where I want to live this is a random seed I haven’t checked this out in advance at all I do see some clay over here and we actually want this Clay’s gonna be very important and you’ll see why quite

Possibly before this episode is done there’s some really useful stuff that you can do with clay come on let’s just get might as well just get all of it there we go and it’s really hard to see under water but that’s fine we’re not gonna be spending a ton of time

Underwater this should be enough we don’t need a ton of clay but basically we do have an or doubling we must be in like a savanna or something hello big there we go – raw pork chops not bad come here Pig I need you for your food

No stop running I mean I don’t blame you but two more pork chops I think that’s a yeah that’s a little baby pig we’re gonna leave him alone I don’t think the babies actually drop food but we want to find an area that has decent decent landscape and preferably a decent a

Decent selection of woods as well cuz right now I’m seeing like birch and acacia oh look at that two cans that’s pretty cool we got in here some brick a furnace that doesn’t have anything in it okay I don’t think we’re interested in any of this we’ll

Just leave that alone and move on I would also really like to find sheep as quickly as possible so we can make ourself a bed or find a village that has a bend in it so we can just steal bed one or the other I see trees and stuff over there

More bushes should probably grab these take those with us since that’s kind of our major food source right now that’s a ravine I’m just kind of looking and just taking in the atmosphere there’s so many mods in this pack that add to that environment we’ve got ambient sounds and

If you go into caves you’ll hear like the echoes and stuff there’s there’s just so many different things and then of course the shaders this is recommended with shaders also I will say if you’re not gonna play along at the back keep in mind that 1.12 packs are

Pretty intensive on your computer so I think I have like 6 gigabytes of RAM dedicated to running this pack so that I can run it smoothly with shaders if you do not have a really high-end PC you’re probably not gonna be able to run this pack with shaders but you can run it

You’ll probably be able to run it just without the shaders and then the other thing too is there’s a mod in this pack called better foliage that’s what makes all these trees look absolutely gorgeous with the leaves however again that’s a mod that’s fairly intensive on your computers so if you

Are playing on a potato of a computer play without shaders and also disable better foliage you can do that in the twitch launcher settings because that will greatly increase the performance of your computer but you’ll still need to dedicate a fair amount of RAM to the pack what’s in here

Looks to be is this supposed to be like a lumber mill err I don’t know oh man look at that the mountains man I’m loving it oh this has been such a long time coming this pack people I think the first teaser for this pack went out in like

March of 2017 and then oh there’s definitely a structure over there in some sort let’s go check that out and then basically I was this was originally planned to be a mod pack that would come out for one point ten point two and eventually I decided to remake

Essentially the entire pack in 1.12 so that kind of added some extra time this is like a floating what what is going on here there’s a spawner up there I see that much okay I’m a little scared because it is super dark whoa oh okay a

Little bit of a lag spike there I’m still working on kind of optimizing some of this things here I think we’re gonna get another one no maybe not what I’m really looking for though is like a cave because it appears that we are not going to find what we need just yet

I’m just looking mostly for food we’ve got a bunch of berries could we please find some animals we found like two pigs that’s it where are all my animals I know they exist Wow look at that Mesa that’s very pretty I also don’t know like what I’m gonna do in this mod pack

As far as like my plans for building and stuff like that I’m still kind of figuring that out to others some birds and stuff over here you can kill these guys and get food if they will hey hold still there we go they drop raw bird

Meat but now it’s super super dark so hmm tell you what I’m gonna look around for a little bit at night cuz right now I know you guys can’t see anything I’m gonna look around for a little bit keep exploring keep gathering some stuff I’ll be with you in a minute all right

Guys I am back and after a little bit of a run-in with some baby zombies who are out there I decided to just dig a little bit of a hidey hole here and we’re just gonna hang out here for a little bit well I make some other stuff so first of

All there is this wonderful mod called the furnace mod and this thing actually allows for or doubling I don’t think we can actually get into it just yet but let’s start cooking up some of these pork chops and different things like that as we kind of get some stuff

Figured out so let’s see you know what let’s actually make oh that’s iron let’s actually make a second furnace here we’ll just throw that down I’ll grab some of this and we might as well cook up that as well and you don’t actually get a whole lot

Of hunger back for pork chops do ya yeah well that’s fine I will get there what about cooked bird meats not a lot from that either okay well fair enough so I’m gonna make one more furnace well toss this in here and I’m gonna start smelting up some clay and we want to

Turn this into bricks because if we look at the furnace mod we need 4 brick blocks to make the furnace and then this guy is basically well it’s exactly what you think its furnace and then there’s this thing the pol vez which basically is a pulverizer so these are like

Slightly better furnaces and basically a method of or double since there’s a pulverizer as well so if you have like iron ore you can turn it into dust and all that kind of good stuff so let’s let that kind of do its thing for a minute

I’m gonna grab this food out of here and I know there was a bunch of sand out here so I’m just gonna steal a little bit of it and hope that I can get enough to make the sandstone we need for the pull this that’s 17 that should be

Enough I need because I needed 16 okay there we go so we’ll make our sandstone and then we also need to Flint and some iron so grab this throw that in here let’s start cooking up the iron that’s in there and then Flint I mean obviously we need

Gravel for that and I’m unsure where I’m gonna find any it’s it looks like night’s almost over though so that at least is good we’re finally getting somewhere there we go and we’d basically just need to wait on that to cook up so I’ll let this stuff

Keep going once this is all done cooking up I will grab some other things and move on and hopefully find a place to settle down so check this out guys these are raspberry leaves from plants from a mod called plants and they grow like super quick so if we just sit here

For a minute I’ve got like 19 raspberry bush or 19 raspberries right now they should well figures the moment I stop recruit the more net moment I start recording is when they stop growing but basically yeah there we go see look at them now look at them all

Start growing like crazy look at that there we go it’s like a Christmas tree just keep lighting up and you just right click and you can gather all the berries and now we have 51 raspberries now these are like a super good food source or anything Wow Wow

Two and a half inches of saturation that’s actually kind of amazing so I guess these are a really good food source but in order to harvest them and take them with you you need a shears if you break them with your fist they just they don’t drop so

I’m thinking I mean there’s a lot of spruce here you guys know how much I love spruce we could probably make a little bit of a place like over oh that actually looks real promising that’s a village that is definitely a village okay well we found our place

Where we’re gonna go live so I’m gonna make ourselves a boat and I’m just gonna throw that down I do kind of want my crafting bench back let’s go I’m actually super glad that we found this so coordinates are right about here this is how far I traveled I wasn’t

Really wandering in any specific direction I was just kind of wandering as I felt like it but this is where the villages and I think this is where we’re gonna kind of set up because I’m sure there will be a bed here somewhere obviously there’s plenty of crops and

Stuff that we can harvest and all that kind of good stuff too so I think this is a good place to live it’s kind of like a nice little Harbor and I think it’ll do quite nicely for us and of course there’s villagers which means we can trade and get emeralds and things

Which are going to actually be pretty important eventually not instantly Oh chunk loading just kind of waiting on some of the slows here we go so we have a bed we got some bookshelves in here we got a nice little chest with some iron armor and all this other kind of stuff

Might as well put on this armor it’s not much to look at but it’s something what is that a little shrine of some sort I guess yeah okay so we’re I mean we probably want to live in that house right it’s the biggest house I think

That’s the smart thing to do so let’s grab a bunch of stuff what here do I not me I don’t need that and you want the clay that’s good enough for now we can come back and get the other stuff later but this looks like my house at least for

Starters eventually we’ll build our own house and it will be beautiful and we will be happy but I think the first step is getting a working place to live like just a just a functional place with some chests and some a bed and you know all that kind of good stuff

Are there beds up here no but there’s food that’s something what about all the way up here yes there are beds in here okay what do we have in these chests a book carrots okay well anyway let’s go ahead and make oh I need coal I don’t

Have any coal okay well we’re gonna have to go and remedy that and I don’t know there’s so much food in here this is awesome okay well I’m sure there’s some coal in this village somewhere let’s do this let’s head over here let’s grab my inventory is that

Completely full right now let’s put this torch our offhand and I’m just gonna grab a little bit of spruce here A little more please there we go we don’t need a lot just like this much should be fine lovely okay so now that we have our spruce now I can make myself a chest and it looks like it’s actually about to be night again here pretty soon which is fine by me

Uh where do we want to put this chest let’s make you know what we’re just gonna commandeer this one for a minute I’ll get this stuff practic organized I’ll get organized properly in a bit but right now let’s do that and might as well finish this last berries so that it

Works for us there we go okay so now that this is all good I think what we should do is go and sleep I think we should sleep there are monsters nearby okay what about the other bed nope I don’t know I haha tada we’ve managed we have properly fallen asleep okay good

So now that’s day I think what I should probably do is go and try and find a cave or something do a little bit of caving nice and early get that stuff done try and get some iron you know all that kind of good stuff because we have

A bed we have a chest and I think that will all be very useful I’ll look for berries let’s take that out I bet these work just like the raspberries do that’s so useful these bushes are so good it also looks like there’s a thing that’s just Oakwood okay well fine as

Kind hoping that we could grow these somehow but I imagine you need a shears to get the leaves and then you can like replant them if you want but that’s a fair amount of wood that should last us a little bit let me look around here for

A cave or I suppose I could just dig down and find a mine or something but I really preferred you to go caving I think caving is a much better solution early game cuz you’re actually finding useful stuff like all the time instead of you know just digging mindlessly I

Don’t know let me look around a little bit try to find a cave all that kind of good stuff I’ll be back with you in just a sec alright guys I am back I found a little cave we’re not far from the village we’re very very close in fact

But this seems like a pretty good spot to kind of get started with our little caving expedition I hear you zombie oh you’re over there that’s alright let’s just throw some torches down come on there we go you can hear the echoes I love it okay

Uh put a torch here put a torch here and there just kind of light that up a little bit and then we definitely need the coal or the furnace and the or doubling and all that kind of good stuff I’m not gonna spend a ton of time here

In this cave because I mean that’s probably the most of the caving and stuff I plan to do kind of off-camera just because it’s it’s much like my vanilla series there’s only you know so much resource gathering that I think you can do in a series and still keep it

Interesting so we’ll do a little bit of caving together here just for a minute get some kind of basic resources going and of course you know the first time I find diamonds and stuff like that I’ll let you guys know but most of the resource gathering in this series I’ll

Be doing off-camera the first episode is kind of an exception to that green slate okay what’s down here oh okay well it appears we have hit a dead end so I guess this will not be the cave that we’ll be spending a whole lot of time in that’s fine let’s get this iron

It’s actually a pretty decent amount of iron here you know what just bring some of that out as well it’d be great to have a full suit of iron armor oh okay this cave is bigger than I thought this is good break that break that and we can

Pop down here at a later time let’s put a torch right there and we’ll do something like this there we go come on jump okay good so let’s make it out of the cave we did get some cold we did get some iron and all sorts of good stuff like

That we weren’t far from the village okay this I was gonna say I know it was within sight of the entrance to this hole so let’s go and might as well grab the food oh yeah good torches are in the Arcanum floor so much all right so these berries

Without a doubt best early game food source for sure because they’re actually like fairly decent on saturation and I’ve got like two stacks of a moiré and it I have not been at this for very long like you could you could just stay doing that for quite a long time and oh look

At this as a bird’s nest as well exotic birds that’s very cool let’s head back to our house and honestly just to save myself a little bit of headache what happened did they have five cobblestone there we go that looks good okay so now that we’re home it appears there’s no crafting table

Down here or here I guess we got to go up to the top floor this is fine so let’s grab the brick some furnace Flint sandstone that should be good okay so first things first we want to make oh and I need some iron ingots oh

Yeah there we go let’s make a furnace and then we also want to make up all this and these two are pretty much exactly what you would think if you’re familiar with modded minecraft at all these will essentially process ores for us so this guy if we toss this in here

And we give it a little bit of coal to let it actually do its thing that will provide us with iron dust and then each of these iron dusts can be smelted into a full ingot so basically we’re doubling our ores by doing this and I think that’s really

Important early game because that means that this amount of iron even though it was I think we probably would have had enough anyway but we’ll have enough here for a full set of iron armor and iron tools and probably some leftover as well which is awesome and then we’ve also got

You know some of these enchants and stuff like that too like this is I think a good use of our early game resources getting one of these up and running as quickly as possible and then this furnace I think is basically just a furnace but faster maybe let’s just see

If I toss this in here now that seems about the same but you can make upgrades for these like if we look at and we actually look at the furnace mod you can make upgrades that will increase the speed give it an extra input slot you know all sorts of

Different stuff so I can probably disable this enables energy support thing I’ll do that probably in a future update this pack will be continued to be upgraded as updated as this series progresses by the way anytime I make a tweak or a change or something like that

I’ll be modifying it a little bit to kind of you know I want to make sure that the changes get out to you guys as well but unfortunately guys I am out of time for this episode so I think I gotta call this one my friends if you enjoyed
