Hello this is betsy welcome to the first episode of the vesocraft server they’ve had sort of a soft start we haven’t really had an official gathering yet but folks have been jumping on the server and getting a little head start so i thought i would come in check it out And i found this awesome place so i thought why not start a first episode here and get to building because actually people have have really just jumped in and there’s people with diamond horse armor already and i found this great spot so i thought i’d just go ahead and start And we’ll probably follow up in an episode or two with an official start but meanwhile let’s get started building our house and you can see already we’ve got horses here obviously i picked a place that was going to be plain so that we’d have great places for pens and i also have a Kind of a cool idea for this lava pool that i’ve or two lava pools that i found so i’m gonna come back in a little bit and show you what my plan is so i’ve spent a few days clearing the area i’m kind of on this program of not Clearing all of the grass i’ve been told that leaving some grass is actually more aesthetically pleasing so i’m on a i’m on a program now of trying to learn how to tolerate some grass but i cleared a bunch of it leveled some areas and i put out this lava And my idea is to use the obsidian as a floor for the house so i have outlined the house here so the wall will come along here stretch along the front here and then we have this really cool house that actually incorporated a tree as part of the wall Actually this is the outer wall here not this this was here before so the wall will come along here and then there will be the tree and then it’ll shoot back and it actually is going to tuck kind of into the mountain here a little bit but when i Found this place and saw that lava and of course when i look at lava i only think of obsidian and so yeah hopefully the only thing i’m worried about is if there’s any lava still alive underneath here if you put wood down on top of obsidian that’s sitting on top of lava underneath Uh it’ll burn the wood so uh i was planning on this being a wood house but i think i might have to somehow test i haven’t heard any lava sounds so hopefully and i suppose this tree standing here is a good test too at least this spot Is cool and i don’t hear any lava but oh well if the house burns it’ll be exciting footage so anyway i will come back when i am further along see you in a bit and we’re back i’ve made some progress on the house although it’s sort of one step forward one step back I start out with the design discard it try something new i had all sorts of things in here before from different types of fencing to uh i don’t remember what else it was so i guess there was cobblestone in there to finally the clay let’s we’ll look in a minute we’ll go Around the front and see what you guys think um but i think i think we’re on the path to the right the right style and and the right look of it oh there’s a spider over there i need to get this so desperate for string i was finally able to go And get some string i got some slimes from oh did that not give me any no that figures i was able to get some slime when i went caving i got some really good supplies but i finally was able to make some leads and this is the cool design that petty Showed me about the fact that because horses search out a two block wide path with the fences this close together they can still fit in because technically with the half on either side and the one in the middle it’s too wide so they fit lauren’s playing with the dog in the Background sorry if you can hear that the horses don’t see the clear path out because they don’t have two block wide path to get out so these guys have been sitting in here for many many day cycles and they’re not going anywhere so so much easier than dealing with gates And all the silly things that we had set up to get them in and out and close it behind them so this is this is awesome and it’s so econo it’s such a good economy of space too so i’m very excited about that oh and here’s the front of the house so This had been cobblestone the brick and the spruce actually no that’s dark oak wood and then and i don’t remember what was up here because oh that was cobble before and then we switched it from cobble to clay and the spacers in here had been first they were wood fence then they Were iron fence and or iron bars and i think i like the clay i think when we come in here and then the other thing just to make this texture a little continue to make it a little different but not the cobblestone i think i’m i think i’m not liking the Cobblestone look but i was thinking about i love the look of natural wood and raw wood together especially in buildings like for the supports to have it be the natural wood um in the in the support beams vertically and also horizontally you know a lot of log cabins look like That but i think that looks nice then with the with the clay and i don’t know maybe not this wood down here that’s kind of now looking out of place i still have it landed upon the the foundational blocks there that i think look aesthetically good But it’s coming along the roof i think i finally got the roof line sorted out too i was doing stairs before and it was making this peak much higher up than it was and just the building turned out huge it’s still pretty bigger than we were trying to copy this one little Cobblestone cabin that we had made many many worlds ago but we’ve tried to copy it a couple of times but there’s always been something that’s different about the situation that we’re building it into this situation was that i was trying to keep incorporated these two obsidian pads And so this building is a lot broader than the cobblestone cabin was so that’s it’s not working for the design so pretty much discarded the cobblestone cabin and now we’re kind of going for i guess you’d call that a a tudor look maybe um but anyway so i think we’re gonna Clear out all of this cobble and switch it over to clay and the natural wood i think it’ll look good so we’ll be back in a minute when i am further along okay we’re back and as you can see i’ve changed the facade of the house pretty pretty drastically i have Colored some of the clay that’s actually supposed to be blue clay uh it looks pretty purple to me but i dyed that with lapis and the result is yeah pretty purple so i had been going to put the stained clay in all of the spaces but then i decided that Having it mixed with the unstained gray kind of mutes it tones it down a little bit um so and i still haven’t figured out the best thing i’m not super thrilled with the raw wood around the door but i can’t find anything better and i also don’t know i want to put Something on the the foundation here outside i don’t know if it’s i’ve tried various things from smooth to stoned stone bricks maybe gravel but i need to go and finish the roof i also need to go and check on my carrots or potatoes over here because i’m running out of food So they’re coming along nicely so i’m going to harvest some of these guys and cook some potatoes and now i need to finish the roof and that’s kind of become critical because every night if i’m don’t jump right into the bed the mobs are coming down off of this hill Jumping into the cabin and killing me well they haven’t killed me yet but i need to replace this cobble here i’ve started making sort of a scaffolding here i’ve just covered in minecraft that i really hate heights so this is probably overkill and i’ll probably end up going through those holes anyway But it makes me feel better that i’ve got more scaffolding here than is probably necessary so i’m going to work on finishing the roof bringing this roof line back so i have got probably half the roof finished i guess we’re using half slabs i wanted to Keep the pitch of the roof pretty low i think i mentioned before that i had used stairs before and it makes the pitch a lot higher and the room just huge and so coming along here with these half slabs then it’s uh it’s keeping that pitch pretty low so It’s it’s a much more reasonable i think roof for what what the size of this building that i wanted to have so just bringing these half slabs along and it’s actually coming along pretty quickly if i don’t misplace them and so yeah we’ve got some really nice dark Oak forest in the you can see in the distance back there so i have no shortage of supplies so i’m just kind of running along here and finishing off this top gonna have some space above for an attic or something i don’t know i’m i’m a huge fan of lofts but maybe that’s Not appropriate for this architecture i don’t know so we’ll we’ll see though when we get this finished off but it’s gonna feel really good to finally have a roof over my head now over here this is kind of funny you can see over here i i came along with this one pretty good But the leaves let me throw down the dirt here so you can see are interfering with the row that’s going to be coming along here i can pick it up again when i get to this point i can start bringing these slabs back in again but there’s an area here That’s going to be open the good side of that is that it’ll let in a lot of extra light and be kind of natural and you can kind of see the tree through here although again in the cobblestone cabin you could see a lot more of it than just One green stripe so i don’t know we’ll have to see what the finished product look like looks like when when it’s all done from the inside it might be just kind of a weird stripe of green but uh yeah i wanted to show you guys how it was coming along And it’s it’s pretty close to being done so we’ll uh i’ll finish off these oops i’ll finish off these last few and then we’ll come back and take a look at the finished product and see how we like it all right we are finished with the roof at least for now We’ll have to go in and take a look and see what we think of this leaves exposed on the inside and i’m not sure about this on the end here i ended up filling this open space with smooth stone and i don’t know how that’s going to Work i don’t know if we’re going to like that so you guys will just have to let me know and from the inside too it’ll we’ll have to see too how that’s going to look but i did want to run along the edge of the house here And just do the little finishing touch this is going to be the fireplace so we’ll come back to that in a little bit and i think i want to use cobblestone but of course you know the traditional part of me wants to use stone bri or yeah clay brick So you know that’s what fireplaces are made of so come along here and do this not two of them and let’s see we should have enough and two more and we’re done i don’t know if i want to take that dirt out i might come back and take that out Do a little cleanup and and maybe add some more but in the meantime here it is from the inside so of course it’s here we’ll have to go to sleep so you can see what it looks like in the morning i don’t know if that strip of green As i was worried it it you lose the effect of the tree because it’s only this one strip of leaves so i’m not sure if we’re going to leave that in there or not just maybe trim those leaves out and just make it a solid roof maybe some support beams I don’t know it’s pretty dark in here that’s the one bad thing about replacing the cobblestone with the with this dark wood is that now all of a sudden the interior of it is really dark so of course it’s night uh let’s sleep and we’ll see what it looks like in the morning All right day has dawned it still looks pretty dark in here now this of course is all going to be taken out and we’re going to shoot some rooms back here have our enchanting room storage things like that you know make this look more more like a house the interior of a House rather than the exterior of a hillside which is what that was but it’s still pretty dark in here so i don’t know this isn’t letting in as much light as i thought it would so i’m also not thrilled about so of course before in the cobblestone Cabin the tree that was growing didn’t have these very interesting knobbly extra tree limb things that now kind of sticks out maybe we could put some glowstone in there make that a lamp or something that might look kind of cool i don’t know we’ll have to we’ll have to Think on that i might have a fit and take that out because i don’t know we’re trying to keep it organic in my in my new don’t you know don’t have to mow everything not everything has to be totally symmetrical you’ll see the front door is not in the square center of this Of the building i did change these windows because that was too s who’s shooting me there you are oh you’ve got a helmet don’t you oh and i where’s my sword luckily he’s not too good a shot where did i put mo it’s just yeah come back here yeah we go So yeah this uh window i changed so that i don’t know if i like that i don’t know if i like that better now it kind of lines up and looks funny you guys will have to let me know this is a work in progress so I did like the way this porch turned out with stairs here and then the slabs kind of made this look you know that’s the one thing that we’re still kind of lacking is sort of thinner vertical supports the only thing that you can do up and down is fencing and of course the Wood fencing is only this lighter color which i’d give anything to have this door be a dark color hopefully that arrow will go away but yeah this is we’re coming to the finished product of the house i mean at least now i can go in here and have a roof Over my head and nothing will get in so yeah so this looks at least it’s safe and we’ll keep working on it so i’ll be back in a minute so i think we’re done with at least the first pass of the outside of the house i’m fairly pleased with it i’ve added a Few plants here and my friends on the simplified server would be so pleased with me i wanted to add just some natural greenery here so i’m actually going to throw down some bone meal and you know me i hate lots of random grass so i might have to go and Knock some of that back but i was hoping for some just kind of natural looking flowers and a little bit of grass i don’t know i’ll have to knock it back i think just a little bit but yeah so and i have rearranged the inside of the house a little bit Moved the beds i have organized the chests and up here i took out the smooth stone and duplicated the pattern that was over here it’s a little dark in the house but i think if we can get into some glowstone in the nether i think we can brighten this up a little bit So next episode we’re going to work on the fireplace and these back rooms but until then if you have enjoyed this episode please do drop me a like and subscribe if you haven’t already done so and until next time this is
