Hey everyone welcome to NIMS tutorials or NIMS toots for short this is where we teach you how to build something awesome in Minecraft following our three tenants time efficiency max understanding and Max entertainment i’m NIMS and i’ve run them down here tutorials and today we’re going to be looking at item filters Using hoppers i’ve got an awesome little design here for you it’s very efficient both in space used and in filter setup most designs I’ve seen require hundreds of blocks until the filter is set up this design only needing seven lucky number seven what before we get started Make sure you’ve got all the required blocks I’ve included the list in the description box of this video but you can also see them on my action bar in step one we’re going to build the body of the filter to start that we’re going to build one joke block down and then Two blocks higher then we need to place a redstone comparator on the top of that place a block off the front of that redstone comparator like so we’re going to drop down to the bottom destroy that junk block drop another block there place a redstone repeater facing inwards So now our comparator and our repeater are kind of looking at each other then off the back of that replete er we’re going to place another solid block and a piece of redstone dust on top of it then swing around to the front of this design you can see where this redstone repeater Is facing place a redstone torch off of that then we’re going to kind of go into fly mode here please say hopper now this is very important I need you to pay attention we need to place a hopper facing the comparator so you can see this little tail of the hopper here is Facing towards the comparator then we need to place a junk block down like so place a chest in front of that junk block then destroy the junk block and place a hopper feeding into the chest that is the body of the filter very well done In step two we’re going to set up the memory for the filter this is so that way it can remember which item you want it to isolate and remove from the conveyor belt so we’re first going to take four signs and we’re going to place them in this upper hopper like so now It’s very very important that they are signs and not any other block and it’s also very important that they go into the slot two three four and five of that upper hopper then we need to take whatever item you’re looking to isolate I’m going to use iron in this case but It could be anything if you’re setting it up under a chicken farm you’d want chicken feathers eggs etc then you’re gonna drop that into that first slot and you’re gonna see it counts down to six now that’s very very awesome that’s exactly as desired six is the base Amount of items in this upper hopper and then you kind of get one item that sits in stasis in the second hopper so this one only like I said earlier only takes seven items before the filter is set up and now from here you can see our eighth Block our eighth iron ingot has ended up in that front chest I’m going to add three more which should put this up to four and there’s all four iron ingots very well done step two complete lastly we need to set up a conveyor belt to move our items overtop the filter array To do this we’ll use any solid block I’m using glass so everyone can see what I’m doing and the flow of water if you’ve got a lot of filters set up you’ll need to add a sign ice block combination in between one of the filters in order to Continue the flow of items well that’s it for this tutorial thanks for watching everyone and don’t forget a like favorite and subscribe this has been NIMS toots and hopefully it didn’t stink we’ll see you next time Video Information

LOTS MORE INFORMATION DOWN HERE … … The toots continue! Many fart jokes have yet to be had! PULL MAH FINGER AND GIVE ME A LIKE DANGIT. Anyways. I built something like this in my LP world to filter iron/roses out and Andrew H. asked for a tutorial, so here it is! =DDDDDD
EDIT: Quick note, the URL for this video is LEET. Can I get a few more likes/favorites for that? XD
TIME REFERENCES Step One: 0:47 Filter body Step Two: 1:57 Filter memory Step Three: 3:12 Conveyor belt
EXTRA INFORMATION: –The ice/water conveyor belt can be replaced with a “hopper-pipe.” –If you’re attempting to filter out EGGS, you’ll need to replace the signs with some other block that can stack to 64 that your filter will never see. –If you’re wanting to filter out signs, you’ll need to replace them with something else your filter will never see. Named signs (using an anvil) are great because they are totally unique and will never stack with another block. (Named signs suggested by “gruosd”)
REQUIRED BLOCKS: Solid block, repeaters, comparators, redstone dust, redstone torches, hoppers, water/bucket, signs, chests, and ice.
TROUBLESHOOTING: 1. Hoppers pointing the correct direction? 2. Repeater and comparator facing appropriately? 3. Make sure there are only 4 signs in each upper hopper, placed in slots 2-5. 4. Items only exist for FIVE minutes once they’re dropped. Make sure your filter gathers them before that. 5. Check your hoppers again. If you’re still having problems, ask below and hopefully another TUTor will help you!
