NotroDan – Playing Minecraft on WINDOWS 7 in 2021…

All right what’s up guys welcome back to another video and today we’re on windows 7. as you can see here i’ve managed to get windows 7 installed on my system this was a massive pain to do especially on modern hardware windows 7 just really isn’t designed for my computer but i

Managed to get it running anyway after a lot of fiddling a lot of tinkering i’ve finally got windows 7 installed on here if you’re interested on how i did it i basically got a special iso which i found on the r slash windows 7 subreddit there’s actually quite a good little

Group on there of people that still use windows 7 in 2021 i found an iso file on there downloaded it put it on my usb booted off that and it was fine if you try and get just a standard windows 7 iso and try booting off it your keyboard

And mouse won’t work because windows 7 doesn’t have usb 3 drivers so you basically start grilling you can’t do anything you can inject usb 3 drivers into your iso but it’s a really old version of windows 7 so when you do get it running you’ve got loads of updates to get through that

It literally takes hours so i’m going to give it a go today and see what it’s like so if we go up here into my control panel here’s my specs i’ve got a ryzen 5 3600 16 gig of ram and i’ve got a gtx 1660 super i’m a little bit annoyed about

This windows index experience score look at that like the highest you can get is 7.9 i’ve got 7.9 on ram graphics gaming graphics but my primary hard disk is 7.6 but my processor is 7.8 eight it’s a ryzen five thirty six hundred how is that not like the highest

Serial for this i’m pretty sure i can get a windows 7 pro key off ebay for pretty cheap so that’s why i got this but yeah anyway i’ve installed all my essential programs like i always say i’m going to be playing minecraft on windows 7 today just seeing how it runs i expect

Of lag there but yeah i do prefer aero and i would use this off-camera but yeah i really miss windows 7 honestly i grew up on this os like my school used to have this i had many computers with this before windows 8 was a massive disappointment

8.1 they tried to make it a bit better windows 10 was good windows 11 i do really like but i i genuinely think windows 7 is probably the best version of windows they’ve done uh it’s just so good anyway enough rambling let’s uh open up minecraft here and get playing so here

We are with the notre client running on windows 7. i’ve got it installed it all works everything’s all good so uh yeah let me just go into a single player world here and uh yeah let’s get minecrafting so yeah this is uh minecraft single player running i’m

Running it in windowed mode right now so it’s probably going to be pretty laggy i might have no i don’t have v-sync on yeah so basically in windowed mode a problem i found is that it’s really laggy in window mode but as soon as i go

Into full screen mode it’s okay i’m not sure if this is a problem with me because i’ve got a 144hz monitor and a 60 hertz side by side so maybe it gets a bit confused maybe it’s an outdated driver i don’t know it’s just one of those things that’s a little bit annoying

I play on their server it’s a crack server that has survival bed wars that kind of thing i’m not being paid to promote this server i’m always looking for crack servers to play on in my videos all the ones i’ve been playing on recently have just been down for

Maintenance or have had like little to no players on them so if you guys could go ahead and join this server the ip is right here play.loadsmc.xyz and uh yeah just check out the server it’s really good i’ll show you the bed wars here uh yeah it’s literally just a high pixel

It’s a really good server it is based in asia i think so my ping is like 200 but my hits are still really good on this server so it’s quite good the only thing this server is missing really is a player base so if you guys could join

This server that would be much appreciated by me so i can play this in my videos and to the server as well and that will help them out all right so i just hopped into a bed wars game here and we’re going to be playing some bed wars games

On lotus mc we’ve only got three players on right now so uh yeah you guys should definitely go check out the server i’ll leave the ip in the description down below make sure you guys go add it to your server lists and yeah let’s try and boost the player base of this server

So uh yeah minecraft on windows 7. it still runs really really well like i’m in full screen here and i honestly can’t really tell the difference between playing on here playing on windows 10 or windows 11 like it feels exactly the same it’s really nice and smooth

And yeah i was a little bit worried when i did get windows 7 whether there was going to be driver issues and it was going to be really laggy on minecraft but it’s not too bad honestly i’m getting a really good kind of 800 fps 1900 it’s really good actually a little

Bit of speed bridging i can actually speed bridge on this server normally i don’t tend to on servers with high ping another thing i really like about this server is the ingots are separated so you don’t have to mix through all of them they’re in separate piles let’s uh get some more here

Try and get some armor oh wow what i just got some uh stuff just because i got the guy died it’s literally only me and red left now this is going to be a really quick game there’s literally only two of us it’s pretty much a 1v1 so the thing with

Running windows 7 in 2021 is you’re kind of out of support really security updates ended kind of last year so it’s kind of outdated but honestly if you’re not stupid and you don’t click on any dodgy download links i don’t think you guys will get a virus you can’t get

Antivirus software’s out there but uh yeah let’s just get this guy oh all right let’s get his beds and uh let’s just finish this game off hopefully we can get him okay yeah my hits are really good and there we go gg that is a victory for me

So yeah a pretty quick game there we’ll probably hop into another one and uh yeah i’m really liking this server right now honestly all right so i just joined another game here and we’re just going to play another game on this server they’ve also got a 1v1 feature

Which i’ll be testing out next game but yeah so should you get windows 7 in 2021 honestly with how long it took me and how many hoops i had to jump through to try and get it i wouldn’t suggest it but if you’ve got an old pc out there

That say is really slow on windows 10 or can’t even run windows 10 then windows 7 is really good because it’s very basic kind of lightweight windows operating system while we’re on the topic of lightweight you guys could potentially check out linux that’s really nice although i

Understand that a lot of people don’t switch to linux because of software that they use for example microsoft word or adobe and all that stuff doesn’t work on there but if you’re willing to swap that out for an open source alternative like libreoffice or then honestly

Linux could be a good option for you all right let’s just get blue here no idea what he’s doing you can’t even just oh and we got him literally just like that that was pretty easy i love all the stuff you get dropped every time he

Kills whoa he had so many blocks and once again we’ve got a 1v1 situation uh the games just go so quick on this server so there is another alternative to you guys out there that can say run windows 10 and you want obviously the benefit of running a modern operating system but

You don’t like all the bloatware and pre-installed stuff that just bogs down the computer there is an option out there which i personally use called windows 10 ltsc and it’s got basically all of the programs you’ll ever need like the calculator and windows accessories and that kind of stuff

But it doesn’t have candy crush or any kind of bloatware which is really good and i personally use it it feels so much snappier so much quicker than just the normal version of windows 10 so let me know if you want to see a video on that operating system because i can quite

Got three kills in that game which is pretty good considering there’s like no one in that game but yeah we’ll hop into the 1v1 feature of this server all right so i just hopped into a 1v1 on this lotus server and honestly i don’t think i’ve ever

Seen a server with bedwars 1v1s in this style before it’s actually really cool so it’s just me and another guy here as you can see there’s only two teams red and blue i’m the blue team so basically he’s on the other side of the map i’m here you can defend your bed

And uh it’s yeah literally just bed wars but a 1v1 it’s pretty cool all right so we made it to the middle here looks like this guy’s proper defending his base so uh just go over there and quickly go all right let’s quickly go get his bed imagine if he’s got obsidian or

Something around this nope he hasn’t right we got his bed uh where’s he gone huh oh he’s here what it’s just afk really well let’s just wrap up that 1v1 but you get the idea bedwars 1v1s they’re pretty cool it’s another win for me so yeah definitely make sure to go check

On the good old herabrine network pleasure got nothing this isn’t going to be a very fun game so all in all would i recommend windows 7 in 2021 if you’re running modern hardware like i am definitely not it took me so long to get it all set up

Lots of headaches and if you’re not very techy it’s probably really difficult for you guys to do if you’re running an old computer that can’t run windows 10 for whatever reason definitely stick with windows 7 if you use a lot of proprietary applications like word and photoshop and stuff like

That that you can’t get on something like say linux and if you are willing to swap out for open source alternatives then definitely check out linux i’ve done a video on that i’ll leave that on the top right hand side of the video right now you can

Go check out me playing minecraft on linux which also has really good performance and it’s also a very lightweight operating system with not a lot of bloatware nearly fell off then i was that would have been embarrassing but yeah if you really like windows 10 but you just can’t run it for whatever

Reason or it’s really slow on your computer because of all the pre-installed bloatware i’d definitely check out windows 10 ltsc i might do a video on it because i personally do run it on my computer and it’s so much smoother than say standard windows 10 was that seriously the last guy
