OMGcraft – Minecraft Tips & Tutorials! – NEW Minecraft for Nintendo Switch!! (and how to get a free upgrade)

Minecraft for the nintendo switch is here and some few things that are very different about it so let’s check them out hey guys it’s chad minecraft 4 the nintendo switch has just dropped just a few days ago it’s really awesome that the bedrock version of minecraft is now available

For the nintendo switch which includes cross play and a whole bunch of new features so let’s jump in and check it out so here we are on the nintendo switch now i’m already playing minecraft but if you are someone who already had minecraft for the nintendo switch it was

Called minecraft colon nintendo switch edition well you actually get the new version of minecraft which is just minecraft for nintendo switch so those are the differences minecraft colon nintendo switch edition and minecraft for nintendo switch all you have to do is go into the nintendo eshop make sure that you are on

The account that purchased the old version of the game and then you’re going to want to go and find minecraft either by just searching for it or finding it in these uh tabs it’s right here for me now i’ve already purchased this but if you had bought minecraft colon nintendo switch edition that

Purchased would say free it would add a 100 discount for you so that you can actually get this new version and this old version the minecraft cola nintendo switch edition uh you can see that it is not available for purchase over there so i actually

Cannot buy this and no one can buy this anymore so that is the old edition if we go back to my search for minecraft this is the new edition and it is literally just called minecraft in the store and you can see that the the page looks a little bit different so

Let’s jump in and go back and here we are inside of just minecraft or minecraft 4 nintendo switch now a few things with this nintendo switch version there’s a few things right off the bat that you’re not going to be able to do you’re not going

To be able to bring in a custom skin at the moment you’re going to have to use one of the skins that you have either bought or have already now this mario mashup pack actually comes with the nintendo switch edition well i shouldn’t say that minecraft 4 nintendo switch comes with

Mario mashup pack pre-installed so you will get all of these fun little mario skins to use so you can choose any of them and become a cool little mario skin another thing that you can’t do is easily import maps texture packs add-ons all of those things but you can join multiplayer

Servers or join in on your friends and you can experience add-ons that way there’s just no good way to import it into the nintendo switch at the moment but you can still experience them if you’re on realms or on someone else’s world now mentioning realms realms at

The moment are actually not available so uh those will hopefully be coming out in the future uh but as of the launch realms are not available for you to create so you might be wondering well what do i get in this new version of the game well you get the cross platform

Play so i can go over to my friends and and search for my uh cross platform friends using the xbox gamer tag uh you can also experience all of the new stuff with the update aquatic so phase one is already out in the update aquatic you

Also have some new features like in game text chat commands of course all of the marketplace which you saw on the home screen and more development in the future because this is the new bedrock edition of the game you’ll be able to experience all of the bedrock things uh in the game so

Uh a lot more to come so far so here’s ooh update aquatic look there’s a drowned oh my gosh so there’s already a whole bunch uh different in this version of the game now i did not have the old version uh but if you did and you have a

World that you used to play on you can easily transfer your worlds from the old uh nintendo switch only version to the new version and that is the sync old worlds button go ahead and click that it will find it and easily import it into the new version some benefits of doing

That is that the new version of those worlds will be infinite so they will not have a world border which is really really nice one more thing to mention about worlds is that if you have the wii u version of minecraft you can sync between the wii u version and the nintendo

Switch edition and then the nintendo switch edition and this new bedrock version but you can’t go immediately from the wii u version to the bedrock edition uh if you have the old version of the game the nintendo switch edition version uh you will still be able to uh use that version that’s

Still available to you and of course the big feature is this store so now you are going to be using minecoins in order to check out and you have to purchase those in order to buy all of the different things you can get skins maps texture packs or mash up packs that

Include all of those uh things in there and you can see those uh those right there at the top and then a few more things over here this is all if you’ve used uh the pocket edition or you’ve watched people play pocket edition uh or the windows 10 edition any of the better

Recognitions that have been around for a while none of this will seem new to you by the way a fun little fact is uh we had a uh creator summit and they mentioned that one of the reasons they switched to minecoins is because having a new uh like store area for

All of these different coins is really really difficult so you can see right here in order to purchase this in-app purchase you have to go to the e-shop in order to do it so having an e-shop inventory for each and every little piece doesn’t make any sense so having

These mine coins makes a lot more sense and it’s kind of true if you go back one second this is the minecraft store page if you look down here under in-game items minecoins are the only thing that pop up so you can see how uh this before

We were still inside of the game when this popped up i know it looks very similar um but you could see how having an in-game item for absolutely everything that you can buy in the store uh could be all of these items in that list would be very difficult so

You can see one of the reasons that they went with minecoins instead of with uh doing a new purchase of real money with each and every single one of these things in their store a little bit about multiplayer is you can play with up to four people

Uh with a split screen so you can do a split screen up to four people they do each need to have their own full joy-con so you need both sides of the joy-con in order to play you can’t just hand them half of a joy-con like

You can say with mario kart or anything like that another neat thing is that you can do a local network or an online network so you see down there at the bottom it says i hit y and so you can switch between these two options um so online would be to connect

To servers and things like that but local network will allow you to connect with other switches even if you don’t have access to the internet which is a really really cool thing so i could switch to a local network go up play a game and then have it available for them to join

As well without any internet connection uh so that’s pretty neat also one final thing is that touch controls uh and stuff are available in order to capture this i have to use the tv dock so there you’re not gonna see me doing any touch stuff uh but there’s lots of stuff that

You can do with the touch screen as well but uh although i’m only doing stuff with controller all in all i really think that the nintendo switch uh coming to bedrock is a really great thing i really really like it um and uh really excited that uh

Cross platform play uh is enabled with the switch and i think they did a really really really good job with uh with all of it you can get this version of minecraft either in the e-shop and just pay for it there or you can go into
