This is not a drill the deep dark Warden all the skulk blocks ancient cities are now in this new Minecraft snapshot we’re gonna cover it all this is gonna be a big one step number one how are we gonna install this go to minecraft.net find a very scary snapshot scroll all the way Down past everything and click download this ZIP file once you have it downloaded navigate to your dot Minecraft folder uh go to uh Google that if you don’t know how to do that once they are go to versions right here double click that you’ll see a whole Bunch of stuff in here this is wow look there’s an experimental snapshot grab the uh file you downloaded and put it into that folder this will be a zip file we’re gonna make sure to unzip it so double click it open your favorite zip unzipper thingy and uh we’re just we’re Gonna drag that on not into a folder but just in there I open the I open the wrong one I need I need deep dark there goes it’s right there inside of your Minecraft launcher go to installations and you’ll probably want to create a new installation we can call this anything But under versions you should see ah see okay wait a second I have to move this over I didn’t have snapshots clicked click that if you’re having trouble finding it now we’re gonna go back uh and see if we can find it now gosh so many things oh okay so it’s Right at the top for me I think I closed and reopened my launcher and then now it’s there so uh we’re gonna call this a skiery now that we made that we’re just gonna go back and there it is name scary we’re gonna play and it’ll download Stuff uh to my computer as you can see the downloading and it’s working okay here we are that might be the longest thing I’ve ever seen Minecraft deep dark experimental snapshot one pending and then the copyright mojangs on the other side of the screen anyway it’s a lot of Stuff let’s make a brand new world and check it out and we are in first thing I want to do obviously we’re gonna go underground we’re gonna give ourselves some the night vision effect to see what we can see I’m hoping to see an ancient city kind of quickly that’s that’s Really what I’m I think most excited about love new structures things like that I think that that will also like that will bring me to seeing everything else okay we we got Warden we got scope box we all that stuff should be in an Ancient city I guess let me see if I can use the locate command to do I can see it at the top oh boy oh man I’m glad I didn’t look for that it was 2 000 blocks away oh that was really far far away okay oh oh oh oh My my this is awesome you guys are getting like the first uh reaction this is like first I have I have uh this is the first time I have ever seen any of this stuff this is very similar incredibly similar to what we have seen oh that’s really cool Um at the Minecraft Earth Minecraft live all that stuff uh this looks exactly like what we saw there so some things I’m noticing is that these skulk sensors right here if I go back into creative I’m sure if I fall on here they will light up the uh the lights down there I’m also not hearing them oh I heard that one oh are they are they uh silenced because they’re waterlogged is that what’s going on here can I not hear them because they’re in water that is super duper not what I expected okay I’m gonna break this and then put it back and then Act like oh yeah I can hear it now so when it’s in water I can’t hear it go or whatever that is looking awesome this crazy portal I feel like I need to light this just to make sure they didn’t add uh that’s not I’m not in search for a Lighter we’re looking for flint and steel and nope I thought this looks so much like a portal oh okay so no none of that uh but we do have a whole we have all the skulk right we got skulk we got the shriekers we got the sensors we got oh even the Vines look at that we have all that also I guess I never realized how much wool is in this area like how much uh just dark wool there’s this dark gray wool that’s what it seems like when we look at it oh it’s just gray wool was in this area I didn’t Know that also I do want to take a look at this area um without the night vision so I’m just gonna uh effect clear myself and there we go so this is like this reminds me so much of what we saw oh man that is so cool do you think we can Oh my oh did we get one to spawn here in creative mode oh so spooky my oh look this is the Catalyst look at this okay we got books candles we have some oh oh this could be used to like distract the warden can’t it like I Can use this to throw the warden off I wonder if I’ll oh we got two of them right next to each other that does not seem fair ladies and gentlemen that is not fair at all so I guess also I’m now on wool and this wall will not trigger Any type of skulk sensor skulk anything because I’m on the wall including the vines is that is that true but then I jump off the wall there we go oh my gosh we are really we are really calling this guy okay this is terrifying okay also I’m Gonna switch back on to uh tonight videos so we can actually see what’s going on here so if I’m moving over here I’m like who oh he heard it oh my word this is super duper scary when it’s like me mode even like I’m not worried about This thing attacking at all and fly over to him holy moly is he terrifying oh my gosh look at all the skalk instant Health curse of binding why would you want that book at all okay I’m gonna switch into uh survival mode and let’s just see what the heck oh oh I’m getting the oh I’m getting the thing oh my gosh I’m in still I still have my night vision on so I think that’s why it got all white and whatnot just gonna cause him to come on over here just because you know I’m in so we’re I’m gonna turn off night vision again clear that away but I think oh oh I can’t see a thing a literal thing I had to jump I had to jump to get off that block oh my gosh he’s where is he I can’t say anything I’m gonna throw one over there go over There oh good go that way I Am shifting but I really don’t want to be shifting I think he sniffed me I also need light like I need light and I need to get up there where the wall is to get away from it oh my gosh okay I’m throwing my last one Go over there leave me alone uh-oh uh oh okay I’m moving I have to I have to move to get up this water this is legitimately so terrifying right now get me up here okay I’m on the wall I can run I can run on wall that’s fine I don’t Think I have the blindness anymore okay if I was uh if I was like actually in here torch give me some torches I’m gonna give myself six to four of them I’m gonna light this place up oh it hurt me oh it heard me do that too I’m not here I swear Holy moly I can’t even see the warden and I’m terrified oh did he go away oh I think he’s gone I think I successfully kept him away Ho Lee cow is that not the most terrifying thing I’ve ever experienced in my entire Minecraft Journey up until now what on Earth They’re gonna give kids heart attacks okay I cannot handle that at all I’m angry actually no I’m not I’m not actually angry but whoa oh my gosh they called him again so I’d be like oh you’re grabbing her stuff oh I have the warden effect Oh my gosh look at all the candles I didn’t even notice him Okay so that was bad of me I was real not smart of me all right we’re going down here I’m gonna put this down so I can see oh nope okay I you literally can’t see oh tricked you Put down a torch right behind you so it looks like I can avoid him oh my word that scared me so bad okay well there we go now we know a little bit about the warden and I had fun I had some fun dying and scaring myself half To death uh and I guess I need to do the uh the same thing where I teleport back over to the ancient city because who knows uh how far away they spawn from each other man okay so now that I’ve had some fun just experiencing the snapshot from the beginning this is Where I died is the warden still here kind of sounds like I can hear his heart beating there he is there he is holy cow he seems uh super powerful so let’s actually go through the change log and kind of look at things uh Point by point and make sure that we’re not Missing anything in this snapshot and uh really uh take a good hard look at everything that we’re seeing here so I’m gonna try something I’m gonna kill the warden that sounded awesome I’m not sure where the warden actually was when it died but that sounded really cool when it when it did Die oh is these are my tour no that’s when I died I died with all those torches oh my gosh these little shriekers are terrifying I can’t imagine like it happening uh when I’m like walking around can we get another Warden because I want to see where it was when it died what’s That what is that oh that’s gold it looks really cool and here I guess uh what we’re in creative mode so let’s see Warden uh there’s gotta be yeah work oh oh hello hi that looks so cool him coming out of the ground here so let’s Do that same thing again he died he didn’t drop a thing not a single thing also what does this do okay so that just spawns them in like that and they will kill him again nothing uh although that did activate uh is there a skulk Catalyst around here somewhere I Guess is that this little Catalyst I guess uh so that is really really cool so uh inside of the ancient cities which we’re in right now you have seen a few chests I don’t think I opened that chest so I’m gonna NBT click this thing did I Open this one I can’t remember did I uh looks like I did um and part of their loot table is by the way lots of candles here if you wanted to uh to harvest them uh but part of these chests have a loot table that will include a new enchantment and that Enchantment is let’s see if we get luckier neither of these Swift snake and uh I’m having a warden uh spawn here uh on me so Swift sneak is the new enchantment and it looks like this is the only place to get it and that is insanely powerful Like that makes this space a place that you want to uh ah there Swift sneak number one so you’ve noticed I’ve already caused like two wardens to happen here and it’s because it seems like all of these chests are strategically placed next to sensors so that when I open them it sets The the sensors off and then it also sets off the shriekers so every chest is like booby trapped so that when you open it it is going to set off one of these uh these shriekers and whatnot and I’m wondering if you could use uh wool to Cover them up so if you noticed a Shrieker you would cover up uh here let’s try this right now with some wool and I see some you know some shriekers so I would be like oh I guess wait really placing the wool I guess this may Have changed from when I remember oh my gosh look at this guy he’s coming out of the ground efficiency projectile projection I feel like with the limited amount of chests here we need a lot more Swift sneak uh here I really want to test out Swift sneak so let’s get that Going we’ve come back to the surface away from the spooky underground area to test this out so I’m currently sneaking and I have Swift sneak one two and three on uh the hot bar there so when I equip it you’ll see how much faster I go so This is Swift sneak one obviously oh wait you’re looking at normal Snake Here Comes Swift sneak one a barely noticeable difference okay I I guess I am moving a bit faster so we’ll take that off now we’ll move on to Swift sneak number two normal sneak now and then number two Yes definitely a bit fat whoa look at this I’m going this is a this is a little Minecraft tip for you if you go left and right you go faster for some reason not sure why that’s a thing it’s like you’re going forward and sideways At the same time but you move faster so that was number two so now number we’re at zero and then we’re going to number three here much faster and then definitely much faster with the uh uh the sideways so here’s a normal walk and then sneaking walk sneaking So you move almost as fat you it does look like there is a a little bit of a less uh of a your speed you don’t get as much speed but you uh do Walk Way faster or sneak way faster with swift sneak 3. now this is something you apply to your Boots which is kind of a bummer to be honest because boots already have so many things that you want to enchant with uh on top of the boots you want your protection you want your own braking you want your mending but you also want things like feather falling uh Soul speed uh what else depth Strider I guess so I’m wondering if hmm some of these may not be mutually exclusive you may have to choose here for example if I have iron boots and I put Frost Walker on them I cannot put depth Strider onto those boosts uh you Can only have one so oh looks like you have to choose also here between depth Strider and Swift sneak so I could have soul Speed 3 on Frost Walker but can I have soul speed I can’t you have to Swift sneak is incompatible with depth Strider Or with uh Soul speed so I could get Soul speed and oh wait is that Frost Walker no I don’t want Frost Walker I want a depth Strider so you could do that Soul speed and death Strider so you have to choose which type of Enchantment You want Swift sneak does not look like it can go on depth Strider or on Soul speed so you have to choose your speed enchantment that you want on your boots sneaking though is so that is really really powerful because you’re sneaking all the time you’re not necessarily Always walking on Soul Sand or walking in water walking in water is a big one though man that is that is a tough choice all right moving back here uh to the ancient city whoops I need to get in the correct mode here one thing that is Mentioned in the change log is that this new block which is reinforced deep slate looks really really cool says it cannot be obtained in survival does that mean that I cannot mine this block does doesn’t look like I can it’s like uh Bedrock unable to be mined not sure why that Would be so important for uh uh for this block interesting my guess is that this is some type of portal that this is some big game thing because you can’t obtain uh end portal uh edge portal thingies like in Portal things uh in survival either so this looks immovable so you Have to come to an ancient city to find it which kind of gives me the idea that this is going to be some type of portal so another thing that uh I guess we know oh I’m not in Creative uh that I noticed while the warden was fighting me was That Darkness effect I called it out but I forgot that it was called The Darkness effect so uh that is you know obviously in the game but there’s also it looks like an accessibility setting so I can turn that off uh if I want now that fog That comes in uh that will continue but the darkness effect can actually be minimized if you want and also I want to just make sure that I’m not uh going crazy three blocks away okay so this is the ancient city obviously but it seems like the blog post is indicating that There is a deep dark biome separate from the ancient city so I’m wondering if I like teleport myself like really far away let’s say 10 000 blocks if I can find a deep dark biome that doesn’t have an ancient city inside of it so it’s uh close by we have to go Into spectator mode and it looks like I am finding the deep dark biome here underground but no ancient city that I’ve spotted so far obviously you’ve seen how quickly I’ve been looking but we have the biome without the city I did not realize that they weren’t going to be together I assumed Every ancient city would be the deep dark biome but that does not look like the case so we have a new cave biome which is kind of cool to add to the Lush caves and the drip Stone caves let’s see if I can just spot a deep dark biome Like naturally like if I was just moving through obviously it’s going to be the Deep slate area it doesn’t seem all that uh off often I want to see how if it’s just like the drip Stone caves we just kind of bump into it often although I haven’t really Seen a drip Stone Cape either so uh not sure but that’s pretty cool here I can do that uh command again okay so we’re 200 blocks so that’s a different location here it is again that’s kind of neat you’ll have some ways to get skulk blocks skulk sensors and Vine and all That stuff Catalyst uh well I guess can’t pick up Catalyst but you have a way to do that without having the ancient city around I’m realizing I should have just read the blog post to begin with because it’s mentioning all the stuff I I naturally found out with The uh enchantments um and the skull catalysts are really really interesting that is this block right here so we learned during Minecraft craft live uh that these are going to be a way to create more skulk I’m just going to read through all of the things that it says On the blog post just so you guys have a good idea of this a mysterious Soul emitting block that blooms when mobs die with an eight block radius we knew that mobs that Parish in the presence of the Catalyst will not drop their experience instead a bobbling charge will be Created at the place the mob perished so we kind of saw that and if I do something like summon an iron golem here and then I use a command wait what is this oh that’s cool I don’t even know I could do that apparently when I look at an Entity I can kill it well that’s terrifying come on down Mr scraper we’re gonna punch you and see if you emit experience bam oh do I not get experience from Iron Golems oh I’m a dummy of course you don’t no it’s the Iron Golem you made it yourself you Don’t get experience from that it’s not a hostile mob okay that’s what’s going on here okay so if I spawn in a minute and punch him look at that oh that’s a really cool oh that’s a crazy animation holy moly look at it go look at that go So this charge kind of like goes in a random Direction which is really neat I didn’t realize it had this animation that is crazy it’s like drippity droppity look at that bam how how far away is eight blocks I don’t even know I can’t count okay so I punched him there And it didn’t work so this is a way for you to extend whoa uh your uh your your skulk which is really really some neat stuff and I could definitely see um some type of uh Farm where you’re just gathering this you don’t get any experience but it’s Like basically going into the floor instead and so you can use a hoe to get the experience back this charge from the mobs and the charges created from the experience that isn’t dropped instead will spread through the skulk veins and skulk blocks in random directions until they find a valid substrate they can Convert into skulk the value of the charge is directly proportional to the amount of XP the perished mob would have dropped each time a block is converted to skulk it will remove one value from that charge the charge in the skulk blocks and the skulk veins will Eventually Decay but it will Decay a much slower in close vicinity to the skull Catalyst and much faster away from the host so I guess it’s saying as you know it decays as it moves away um and it’s better near the skulk Catalyst that’s a little confusing to me Like is it gonna expand more the closer it is and then less the further away it is possibly I mean that is the thing I put down and all of this has now been converted if a charge Decay uh decays four blocks away from the Catalyst it Has a chance of growing a skulk sensor which we saw that happen right there or a skulk Shrieker charges and their values also merge when they move to the same position so I guess if two things died really quickly there’s a chance that uh it would it would merge and that Is so cool and that is going insane and so uh that that’s neat very very cool so that is the skull Catalyst that looks so neat now if you’re gonna pick this stuff up you need silk touch and uh if you just want to mine it yourself you can Use a hoe in order to do that that is the most efficient tool so I’m going to be in survival mode here for just a second and I’m just going to mine this up even though the most eventual is a hoe I’m using a pick because I don’t Know why I just thought a pick is what I have silk touch on so we’re going to use a hoe here and I’m getting some levels now what I wonder is is this the same exact same amount of levels I would have gotten had oh geez I made I made the word I Made the warden happen okay here let’s go back and create a mode is that the same amount of levels I would have got if I was just to have killed the mob so since we have a warden here which I’m not even sure where it spawned sounds like it’s over here somewhere Warden Wanted um let’s talk a little bit about the warden obviously the skulk shriekers here it is uh are the things that are causing it to uh to go off we can be in survival mode here for just a second try to get its attention over here but you’ll notice though that it’s heart Right there it’s uh it’s Souls oh my gosh it’s gone but that is that is so terrifying I just left it’s like I’m out of here and I didn’t even see holy moly uh well the souls in the middle of chest are actually an indication of how angry it is so I Wonder does it hit harder if it’s more Angry the other thing is that these shriekers here there it is oh my gosh here it’s coming I wonder if I can outrun this thing uh these shriekers uh will some of this thing anywhere they’re always around so see that thing beating His chest it’s getting angrier and angry the more it beats the faster beat oh gosh it moves faster is that what happens is that how how angry it gets oh my gosh she is moving so fast can I even go this way I don’t even know moving Moving moving we are just rushing can you run faster than me I’m gonna oh my gosh he’s moving really fast oh I’m gonna die oh oh oh oh my I didn’t die oh my gosh okay well that’s that’s when you die once a mob has pushed beyond the Warden’s anger threshold it will face his prey and Roar before charging if however you keep the warden from noticing you or getting angry for 60 seconds it will will dig back underground and despawn so you got 60 seconds for it to uh to for nothing to happen uh they have a special Interaction with Throne projectiles oh cool if a warden receives two projectile vibrations within five seconds of one another it will grow angrier at the shooter if the word receives a projectile vibration more than five seconds from the last projectile it will not grow angrier at the shooter wow more Than five seconds so okay so you gotta keep them five seconds apart basically this allows you to strategically distract the warden without getting angry while you take loot from nearby chests so you have to keep those thrown objects if you throw a snowball and uh Or fire an arrow or whatever you have to keep that within five seconds uh or for longer than five seconds otherwise it gets angry at you unfortunately for all players Warden will also disable Shields when they hit them with their fists they do not drop any loot What is this is this intended apparently wardens Do not drop any loot uh and uh wardens are powerful creatures and is often better to sneak around when one emerge instead of taking a head-on you’ve been warned or as I like to say you’ve been warned anyway uh so that is really basically it Uh the warden thing it not dropping any loot actually kind of surprises me because I assume that this is like a big boss battle but I guess the warden is really just there as a terrifying tactic to keep you from uh to keep you sneaking In in that area and it’s really not a boss that you want to fight it’s a boss you want to avoid And So It causes the player to have a behavior of avoiding the warden and sneaking around in the deep dark which is pretty darn cool okay This is the first snapshot of 1.19 that seems like real 1.19 material that really has the features of 1.19 the Wild update thank you so much for watching if you enjoyed it please give this
