Over the past year of playing in this minecraft world i’ve been developing the area around my base part of that has been replacing the default minecraft terrain with custom biomes of my own what i want to do today is add a third biome to this list i’d like to replace This plain looking forest biome with a custom mushroom biome of my own The first step of this project is going to be to prepare the area so that i can start building for starters that means i need to burn down all of these trees because otherwise they’re going to be in my way clearing the area like this is also Going to give me a better sense of scale this will help me get a better understanding of how much of each resource i need to collect in order to pull this build off The next thing i need to do is resource collection in particular i’m going to need a lot of mycelium if i want to pull off this build to collect some i went to the nearest mushroom biome and started removing the terrain layer by layer since mycelium spreads to nearby dirt Blocks by the time i was finished removing one layer the next one had already readied itself to be collected Unfortunately though this only applies to dirt blocks and not grass blocks since mycelium can’t spread over grass blocks i can’t just put one in the middle of the forest and wait for the change to happen on its own i’ll need to place each individual block of mycelium myself Do Now that all the prep work is finished i can finally start putting blocks down i decided to knock out the longest part of this process first which is placing down all the mycelium and then once this step is finished i can start working on the mushrooms About two-thirds of the way through replacing all this mycelium i realized that i didn’t have enough so i had to make another trip back to the mushroom island After that short detour i was able to get back home and finish up this phase of the build Now it’s finally time to get to the good part building the mushrooms of course i didn’t want to use the default minecraft mushrooms i wanted to build ones of my own for the red mushrooms i decided to stick with the classic round red top with white spots and just like i’ll do for Each type of mushroom i made different variations of different sizes Do So I also stuck with the default look for the brown mushrooms these were a bit more difficult to make look good when they were small but i think the big ones look quite nice For some extra variation i made a third species of dark mushrooms for these i made them a bit smaller and made sure that they always came in pairs Now that i’ve got the design of each mushroom all figured out all that’s left to do is build a bunch of them By the end of this building session i was feeling kind of conflicted i liked the way the build was looking so far but the biome was just feeling a little bit empty to amend this issue i decided to add a fourth type of mushroom into the mix But before i could i had to collect the necessary resources to do this i went to the nearest badlands biome and started digging up some red sand this is the same area i used to collect terracotta so i wasn’t too concerned about messing up the terrain I crafted that red sand in a sandstone and started working on my new mushrooms i wanted these mushrooms to look a little bit more distinct than the ones i had already built to do this i used half slabs to make it look like they had a More subtle curve than the ones i had built so far As a final touch to the build i added normal minecraft mushrooms all over the place i did them in patches by color and also mixed in some nether fungi when it made sense I think this biome turned out pretty good and i’m glad i built it i think it adds a nice touch to the area around it it also gives an incredible view when i’m flying out of my storage room i hope you enjoyed watching and like the Build if you want to see more videos that are like this i’ve a few other ones posted to my channel thanks again for watching see you next time You Video Information
