Minecraft has finally released the 1.18 caves and cliffs update and it is quite literally world changing the best part about it though a brand new music disc composed by the legend herself lena rayne it’s called other side and it’s an absolute banger so in typical jackal fashion i’ve recreated it with only

Check out my other videos first anyways it’s time we got through all the sounds i used because there are a lot starting from the top we have the six melodic instruments the first is of course the lead melody which i’ve given to an amethyst block since they naturally sound so musical Next are the pad synth weird chord things at the end of the song i really wanted to use axolotls for this remake so i’ve chosen them for this part and use their little squeaky noise in the final arrangement i’ll just repeat the sound over and over to make it sound like longer notes

Moving on we have the saxophone the first sound of many that i’ll use a goat for obviously one of its many weird screams should do the trick when cut shorter and then comes the instrument you hear throughout the entire song those iconic repeating arpeggios once again i’m going

To use a goat just one of its other noises Accompanying the main arpeggios are some more arpeggios on a guitar i needed something that ring out a lot for this so i grabbed the idle sound of a glow squid isolated the main note with some eq and went with that to round off the melodic sounds is like

Always the bass i couldn’t really find a good low sound for this naturally so what i’ll do is pitch down the goat sound from before and use a different background alright now it’s time for the percussion which there is way too much of but in a

Good way starting with the drums we have the hi-hat thankfully the sound of the new candles getting extinguished sounds exactly like a hi-hat just when cut shorter the snares on the other hand are a lot harder to recreate there’s two snares in the song one of which comes in later but

For the first one layering the sound of rooted dirt breaking with the sound of a goat ramming a mob makes a pretty convincing snare in the same way for the second snare i’ll also layer two sounds the first is powdered snow breaking just trim shorter and the second is a drip leaf breaking

Together they sound like this completing the drum kit is of course the kick but i couldn’t really find anything that was low pitched enough so what i’ve done is grabbed the sound of the new smooth basalt block breaking and pitched it down with some eq

Okay now that the drums are done we have the rest of the percussion one of those is a tambourine that helps carry the piece which i reckon would work well as an azalea bush being stepped on with some eq i’ll use a clip of it breaking though so it looks better visually

Moving on there are some very quiet congas in the first half of the piece to continue the theme of new blocks i’ll use a copper block just with some effects also use the same sound for the toms later on but pitch down throughout other side the song is filled

With a light brushing sort of noise that sounds like some ambience by repeating the sound of moss blocks being stepped on over and over with different visuals i can achieve that pretty well and finally at the end of the song a clock ticking fades in for the last few

Bars even though they won’t officially be added to 1.19 skulks are in this update in creative and they replicate the sound pretty well okay well that’s all the sounds covered keep in mind that i will apply some overall effects like reverb and a bit of
