Time you made me get up to go on Avatar flight of Passage and tell and say the words that you said well I was doing some research into the best time to wake up and I just let Andy know and I think I I think the phrasing I used was

I have some brutal news about our wake up time and the brutal news was I think we needed to we woke up at I think it was for um because you know the number for 4 AM yeah there’s a four in the morning now um things things eat into your time and

You know we wanted to be comfortably at the front gate at 7am uh for when that opened um for the magic hour uh so really it was the only chance but Andy will the memories of Avatar flight of pass and the other stupid rubbish one where you go around a stupid

River that sucks the memories right the memories will stay with you forever won’t they yeah I mean yeah we still had to queue for four hours even though we got there at 7am yeah um yeah that was the op it was the best case scenario yeah so if you could let

Us know how we’re looking how we’re sounding um this is of course the Minecraft Magic Kingdom uh by everbloom games here they are uh you can get it in the in the store obviously I am a pro Minecraft player I have um I have participated in the Minecraft

Championships which means I am one of the best Minecraft players in the world that’s true actually um so we don’t need to go into how I did or anything like that it’s not important but um I’m very very good at Minecraft that’s what I’m that’s what I’m saying so uh basically

Luke and I are going to take you through a typical day at the Magic Kingdom um the dream the dream Disney day yeah so uh we’re gonna we’re gonna go in we’re gonna go for a for a tour yeah come along with us this is already brilliant oh my gosh

And enter the world of yesterday tomorrow fantasy and Cowboys and also Cowboys Cowboys and yesterday in a very broad sense um yeah okay yeah okay so we’re gonna oh my God they’ve got all of the Vintage posters yeah but like recreated in little pixel art so look it’s Big Thunder Mountain Railroad there

But I genuinely have one of these up on the wall um join the happiest cruise that ever sailed around the world Buzz Lightyear Space ranges and a lot they’re well now there we go look what it is in horrifying Sight and Sounds do they have the 20 000 Leagues Under

He’s actually doing it they’re rehearsing a play oh dressing so childlike I don’t know but look they’ve got one of those scream extractors forgetting the screams of children that’s normal good good so around here is Buzz lightyears um laser Festival years old old-fashioned laser oh my God it’s bad light here

One of the best bits of Disney merch I’ve ever seen it’s really hard to get um you can get ah you can get a Space Mountain uh uh teapot I think it is oh because okay yeah it is a it is it is oddly shaped like a teapot Spaceman yeah

And it broke down in the face they sound unfortunate no it was wonderful because it broke down on a really steep bit of roller coaster so it couldn’t be restarted eventually they had to come and get us and they had to like tether us to some stairs oh wow and they and

The main thing is they turned on the house lights so I got to see it inside oh my god um and it was so cool uh yeah I was gorping around in amazement as soon as as soon as I’d waited the two minutes it would have taken for the next

Car behind us to smash into it as soon as that didn’t happen then I relaxed and had a really exciting time what was it what was the likelihood in your mind of another car smashing into the back of you and killing you and your family wow I mean I

Think that’s supposed to be a Mickey mug handle and the Monty Python theme is playing arousing Susan layering out the oh wait Non-Stop oh here we bloody go yep so here’s the this is the Floridian Haunted Mansion which if you’ve been to any of the others you’ll notice folks it’s

Different to the design of well actually it’s the same as the design of the Tokyo uh Haunted Mansion but it is different to the ones in Paris and um California the one in California of course is uh located it’s located in New Orleans square and so yeah absolutely that we’re not going anywhere

So the one in California takes the form of a Louisiana style mansion with the uh the grand columns and the sort of the balcony the software is here we’re in more of a kind of New England setting because we’re in Liberty Square and so they chose a design for the mansion that

Was more uh in keeping with that kind of architecture which is why we have this kind of um Gothic this more yeah Victorian Gothic style to the house um the one in Paris of course is the kind of um italianate Mansion more in keeping with the like

The Adams Family house it looks a bit more like because that’s in frontierland it’s more of a kind of wild west thing so there’s the house this is the queue they updated the queue a few years ago they added some new yep here you go they’ve added um some new things these

Are busts that have a little murder mystery that you can solve all these These are family members who killed each other there are little things on the plaque they tell you how they died and you have to sort of figure out who killed who this little uh little puzzle

For you to solve while you’re queuing up come around here there’s anything written on these Graves this organ probably not at this resolution but uh these Graves all recognize famous imagineers uh and are our puns usually you can’t hear you’ve got the Q audio yeah usually you that’s interesting

Up here you can take a look at the pet cemetery there’s some Graves for animals in there and there is a a very cool animated Tombstone for Madame Leota up here right when you’re waiting to go in you’ll be queuing here and every so often the uh the tombstone’s eyes

The ride where a cat would fulfill the same role before they eventually settled on the disembodied voice uh performed by the voice actor Paul freeze okay here we go here’s the Madame layer to Seance room so you’ll notice the ride is split into basically two halves the first half we’ve just experienced

Where there aren’t any sort of overt ghosts everything is just sort of creepy and unsettling and then we have this is actually scary yes quite like foreboding uh whereas here we have the Seance room where Madame Leota is creating a connection to the spirit world and then after this room that’s

When you get the actual ghosts manifesting so after this we’ll have the uh the dining room scene then we’ll go through the attic and then the graveyard scene where all the ghosts are just having a big party and it gets a bit more kind of silly and fun I love

The dining room the dining room is great again less impressive in Minecraft I mean it’s a pretty good Recreation they’ve got it’s an incredible Recreation the guy on the chandelier they’ve got the Duelists coming out of the painting look at that uh the ghost is coming out of the organ

That was great yeah this is all achieved by an effect called Pepper’s ghost in real life which is very if you’ve not heard of it it’s worth looking up how they do it it’s very interesting this is already quite loud so I’m just going to drop it Um and now we’re moving through into the Attic so this is a sort of this was a story that was always hinted to that previously but they’ve really kind of Lent into it beforehand which is that uh there’s a kind of Black Widow bride who’s been killing all husbands

Which I find helpful because I think she’s a cool character um and it’s yeah it’s not clear on all the haunted mansions exactly what’s going on yes yeah you’re like it’s Madame Leo to the main character yeah they’ve changed the story to um the phantom manner now um in the last sort

Of two years and I went on it recently and I think it um it makes it worse they’ve made the main character I think less sympathetic that’s uh that’s a I mean that’s a that’s for another stream yeah we get into that is this where we

Get rotated and you go backwards yes and you fall out like you’re being buried it’s I’ve always thought it’s like you’re falling out of the out of the attic onto the onto the ground and that’s when you okay you’re you the character of the person riding the ride

Uh dies or at least gets into a near-death state which is why you’re why everything you’re fully able to see the spirit realm because they’re all out here is this where maybe not this ride but is that that’s what the Hat Box ghost was originally the hatbox ghost is only in California okay

Um the hatbox ghost is in the Attic yeah all right come on here’s the hey little band the Seesaw ghosts it’s going to turn us to the right and we’ll have the singing busts there we go there we go every size oh look at the mustache on Phil Ravenscroft pretty good

Fine yeah yeah well I mean maybe tell us what it is before we see it oh this second judge yeah so this is an effect where when you’re riding past um the ride will turn around and show you a mirror and there’s a ghost kind of over your shoulder called a hitchhiking

Ghost it’s like they’re going to follow you back to the world of the living which is cool okay so I can ghosts they have canonical names they’re called Phineas Ezra and Gus if you’re interested oh there we go we’ve got a hitchhiking ghost I can’t see Donald though oh we

Get all three you get a different one yeah they’ve added like animated ones now it’s kind of a cool effect and that’s a tiny version of uh the bride called little Leota for some reason I’ve never understood why that’s there or what it’s supposed to be it’s the it’s the only remaining mystery

Of the Haunted Mansion of the uh the only the only thing Andy’s yet to correct yeah so that was the Florida Haunted Mansion there’s um so there are four versions of The Horde to mentioned there’s California Florida um Paris and Tokyo they don’t have haunted mansions in the Shanghai or Hong Kong

Ones because of um uh Chinese beliefs around ghosts and the afterlife so I don’t think they have anything similar in Shanghai in um Hong Kong they have a ride called The Mystic Manor which uses some of the same effects but has a more sort of

Adventure theme is uh is the idea it’s a kind of Pandora’s Box that gets open that causes all the effects and putting the volume back up nice all right the um the so in Disney World they have a pretty neat photo system now with oh the photo pass

Thing yeah it was sort of app integration you can get a really nice picture of yourself uh out the front of the Haunted Mansion with um oh it’s a hitchhiking ghosts yeah yeah just uh just here is the spot so let’s pretend that happened very nice all right what’s where’s we’ve we’ve

Copyrighted Peter Pan music coming in um oh that is very Charming yeah one thing to know about Luke is he hates E.T not the film the character E.T it’s not like what the one thing you need the one thing you need to know about above anything else if you ask me to describe

The city and if you’re on like the right hand side of the ride you get a like a cool view of the city from the sky and if you’re on the left hand side of the ride you see a sort of empty Warehouse floor uh that they haven’t bothered with theming so

Disney Springs which is an Indiana Jones we go in there for a oh we’ll go for drinks after them okay after the meal fine or um The Boathouse is a really nice restaurant as well you can sit out on the uh on the deck there watch people

Go out in the little cars yeah oh the cars that turned into boats oh man that’s uh what a good time anyway ah the fireworks are going it also it doesn’t like Tinkerbell come down on a zip line from over here somewhere on top of Space Mountain maybe yeah like 500 miles an

Hour it just slams into the side of the castle kills her instantly everyone cheers it’s a good time so but I mean if you’re doing full on discount Disney dad yeah oh wow this would be the point you’re like no this is the time everyone’s watching the fireworks we’ve
