Pixlriffs – Crossing The Void On A Flying Machine! ▫ The Hardcore Survival Guide [Ep.16] ▫ Minecraft 1.17

Hello everyone my name is pixariffs and welcome back to the hardcore survival guide i’m building a tower while obviously i enjoy the shire theme that we have going on with these two hobbit holes i really wanted to build a fantasy tower to conceal the nether portals unfortunately it’s required getting

A lot of resources and i’ve been doing most of that on streams but i’m getting to the point where i really need to start moving large quantities of resources around and the best way to do that is to get hold of some shulker boxes so you know what folks today we’re going to

Go to the stronghold and we’re potentially going to try and get out to the end islands without fighting the dragon and i’ve been gearing up for that very purpose for a while now we should have around here yes 24 honey blocks and those with a little help from some other redstone components are

Hopefully going to allow us to cross the void without fighting the dragon but we will have to come back from the end islands to fight the dragon so that we can return home because this is a hardcore world so we can’t cheat the system by falling into the void and respawning in the

Overworld or we would but we’d respawn in spectator mode and that would be the end of that so the first step to finding the stronghold is of course to get hold of some eyes of ender which will lead us to the stronghold the same ingredient that you use to make an ender

Chest all we need to do is get some ender pearls which i’ve been trading from this cleric and some blaze powder from the nether and thankfully we already have both of those things so i have four blaze rods right now we have enough to make eight eyes of

Ender and the ender pearls that i have traded from the clerics should be enough and i might have stashed some blaze powder over here in the brewing stand i didn’t okay so we will need to go back to the nether and get a couple more blaze rods for

Blaze powder but if i trade for a few more ender pearls with our cleric the maximum amount of izer vendor we would need to complete an end portal would be 12 so we’ve got more than enough at this point in the meantime i’m also gearing up with a few supplies

That we’re going to need for the journey i’m going to bring eight pistons with us we’re going to convert those into sticky pistons we will also need a few observers for some flying machines we’re going to stash all of this in my ender chest for later the next thing i’m

Going to do is run over to this fletcher buy myself a new bow and use it to repair my other bow because right now that is running very low on durability and we can’t add mending to it because it already has infinity so one three minute fire resist potion

And a trip to the blaze spawner later we now have enough blaze powder to get ourselves the rest of the way to having all of our eyes of ender in place and i made slightly more than 12 even though 12 is the maximum lead for the portal because of course

We throw an eye of ender out there in the world to direct us towards the stronghold and some of those might end up breaking in the process now before we get all gung-ho about it and head out to the end there are a couple of other things

I want to make sure i have namely a bunch of fireworks because if we can get hold of some elytra and that is my plan to get hold of some elytra to make the dragon fight a little bit easier and perhaps a little bit different to the first dragon fights

You normally see people do we are going to need some fireworks because fireworks are how we get around using elytra and thankfully our sugarcane farm has been doing super well so we have enough sugarcane to make into a bunch of paper and using the crafting recipe book we can make ourselves

Yeah about five stacks of firework rockets i’m gonna cram all of those into the ender chest because no doubt we will want to use those to get around once we have our elytra and it would also be a really good idea to bring a mending book and if we had one an

Unbreaking book so that we could immediately enchant our elytra with enchantments that are going to keep it around for the foreseeable future well i rerolled books in the enchantment table a bunch of times i always have really bad luck getting unbreaking but eventually i got two unbreaking one books that i can combine

Into an unbreaking two and mending book and that should be enough to enchant our lytra so i’m going to stick that in the ender chest as well along with the anvil so that we can immediately enchant our elytra when we get it and that will be a lifeline for us

Once we get to the end naturally the other thing i want to bring with me on this trip is enough obsidian for two nether portals a one for the stronghold and one for the roof of the nether so that we can add it to our nether hub up there

And get back to the stronghold easily whenever we want to before we go anywhere i’m going to set my spawn here i think i have already set my spawn in this location but it’s always worth checking we’re going to take the isa vendor out of the chest and we’re going to pack up

To go on our adventure now from a nice high up location we’re going to throw our eye of ender and let’s see that headed off in that direction and immediately broke okay great so we have 13 eyes of ender that should be enough i think now let’s see we can probably go that

Way that is heading in a very south westerly direction and here’s the important thing to know about strongholds along with a fantastic graphic from the minecraft wiki is that strongholds are always going to generate at least 1280 blocks from spawn the outer limit is closer to a thousand blocks out from

That so before we throw our next eye vendor we’re going to travel out at least a thousand blocks from our village and that will hopefully give us a good location to throw the next eye of ender so we’re a thousand blocks out now we’re heading towards this ocean biome i’m gonna throw the

Eye of ender again and this one is heading in much the same direction and it also broke so now we’re down to 12th yeah to be quite honest it is probably worth bringing a little bit of spare blaze powder when you do this just in case you need to kill a couple of

Enderman on the way obviously the more ender pearls the better as we cross this ocean i’ve actually got the fog turned off for a little bit so that we can see where we’re headed in terms of land mass and we do actually want to keep an eye out for structures

Under the water because very occasionally stronghold portal rooms and some of the other structures of the stronghold have been known to generate underneath the water’s surface but once again we are going to have to go maybe a thousand blocks further out from here to reach the outer

Edge of that first ring in which the strongholds can generate here we are heading into a mountain biome though i’m going to chuck another eye of ender just to make sure we are headed in the right direction and thankfully this one drops so we don’t have to lose that one from our supply

Standing on the opposite side of this mountain biome near the shoreline let’s throw an eye of ender once again and it looks like this one is heading out to sea so we can catch this one as it lands on the shoreline here and we are once again headed out to sea

Well i spotted some stone bricks down there and a few light sources and wondered if the stronghold portal room was down there it turned out to be a drowned ruin and there is now a drowned throwing a trident at me so i’m gonna give that guy the run around and continue

In the same direction we’re out here near our ocean monument coordinates and i believe this is the monument that we raided in a previous episode let’s see if we can throw an eye of ender from here and i have a feeling it’s going to head back in that direction

Yep looks like we are headed that way so potentially close to where that drowned was chucking the trident at me we actually have the location of our stronghold now let me see if there’s anything in the immediate ocean around here once i’ve dealt with a zombie and it would honestly be really

Funny if the stronghold ended up directly below that drowned ruin with the amount of stone brick that’s around so from this island let’s throw another eye of ender and see where it points no it’s headed back in that direction now and thank goodness that one landed because i am running

Precious low on these i think our stronghold should be somewhere down here now much the same as the coordinates for finding buried treasure the 4 4 coordinate in your chunk coordinates there on the left hand side can actually be the location of the staircase that starts at the stronghold so we’re gonna dig

On down this way it may not be directly below where we are right now but if you’re somewhat confident in the fact that you are near the stronghold you can always dig down and give it a try and with any luck you can find yourself in or near the staircase

That begins the stronghold in this case we’ve just found ourselves in a cave but it should be a good starting point we can now dig around in a few different directions and see if we can locate the stronghold we’ll be looking for any other mob noises so

Probably best if we end up killing this bat that way we can be sure that any other mob noises are coming from somewhere around the stronghold and if we happen to gather a few other resources in the meantime then so much the better if that isn’t proving very

Effective we can return to the surface and try a couple of other 4-4 coordinates and see if one of them ends up striking it lucky right here i can hear some spider noises so this seems like oh yeah there it is we have found it and immediately

Broke a block of silverfish stone start as we mean to continue i guess now let’s hop on in here and we have made it into the stronghold incredible now from where i am here i can actually hear the sound of lava and some silverfish nearby so i think if we go

This way we might actually be digging out yes into the portal room incredible and from the looks of things oh there’s our silverfish we need to take a couple of these out light up the spawner and the room surrounding it as best we can i’m actually going to keep the silverfish

Spawner this time because potentially we can do something with that a little bit later and we have two eyes of ender in here that’s a fantastic news where did that skeleton just fall down even with all this lava around it’s actually quite difficult to completely light the silverfish spawner i’ve

Spammed torches all over this room but they are unfortunately spawning in thin air around here so i’m gonna try and light up a couple of the other walls here as best i can in the meantime though this room is now our staging area for our trip to the end

And i’m gonna get rid of a few of these extra blocks and bits and pieces find a place to set down my ender chest i’m thinking probably in this wall right here we’ll switch to my silk touch pickaxe so that i can dig out an area of this without

Awakening any silverfish from the stone end in the wall here we’re going to set up our nether portal that’ll direct us back to the stronghold when we want to return now as before we’re going to light this but not go through it take the coordinates and then

Head back to our base so that we can reproduce these coordinates on the nether roof then i’m going to chuck a few of these things back in the ender chest and we’re going to head on out of here and after a quick diversion to the jungle mesa desert nether portal to make

Sure that i slabbed the top of this and thank you to everybody who pointed out that i didn’t do this in the video we arrive at the approximate coordinates of our stronghold portal negative 156 245.5 is pretty much the coordinates we just took so i think right here

Is the place we’re going to start our portal and i figure it’ll probably go there we’re going to fill in the corners with mossy stone brick and cracked stone brick to indicate that this is the stronghold we’re going to slab over the top with the mossy stone brick once again

And as we drop down here we should be able to light this up and head on through to the stronghold and perfect that worked out super well and from here we’ll be able to connect to the stronghold anytime we want to and without further ado it is time to pack

Some stuff away in the end of chest and head to the end now this is potentially going to be a little tricky where did that silverfish go did it sneak off into this little area i’m just going to block this whole thing off we still have

A little bit of stuff left in the end of chest but that’s going to be fine we need these eyes of ender the honey blocks of the observers the sticky pistons we’re going to bring this boat with us because we might end up needing that after all and there’s no

Time like the present we’re going to get right to it i’m going to pop all of these eyes of ender in the places they need to go in the portal the portal is open and it’s time to get out of the overworld and get into the end now we could have

Our work cut out for us this could be a little bit tricky if we are on the obsidian platform at the edge of the island which we are okay so this is going to be a weird one but hopefully we should be able to get this right i’m going to place our flying

Machine right here going to build some honey blocks onto the side of it like so we want an observer facing that way observer facing that way i’m going to stick a honey block on the back there as well actually we might want to build these honey elements on the other side because

We need to trigger the flying machine using this side here so i’ll put some sort of placeholder block right there let’s make that a jungle slab apparently it’s a little safer to do things this way if you place a boat on these honey blocks because boats can

Be slightly easier to track in terms of player position but the dragon is circling overhead there is no time like the present let’s get this show on the road and here we go folks we are flying in our flying machine over the void i’m gonna try and roll backwards over

These honey blocks a little bit and despite how precarious this looks with the boat glitching forward over the front of the flying machine we are away and we should be headed out into the void trust me i am holding the backwards button this entire time if i could row backwards anymore then i

Would and if the boat glitching forward like this looks kind of terrifying to you trust me it is absolutely terrifying to me but i’m pretty confident that this method is going to work if we wanted it to look a little bit safer we could potentially add another couple of honey blocks on the

Front of the flying machine here to make sure that the things are worth stable i’ve done this with slime blocks before using boats and it definitely looks a little better but i think that is it the flying machine is making its way across the void i am still holding the back button

Just in case that is gonna save me here and the end island is disappearing behind me into the void i’m gonna stay in third person here just so i can see that all of this is going on and also looking down like this is potentially gonna prevent me from

Looking at any enderman directly once we make it to the island on the other side but we are traveling right now as you can see along the x-axis over the void eastward towards the outer ring of end islands and the flying machine is having a few hiccups as we go probably

Because it’s loading new chunks of the void and potentially the outer end island as we get a little closer but terrifying as this looks the flying machine’s course is holding true and we should hopefully arrive at the outer end islands in about another four to five hundred blocks [Applause]

And incredibly the first end island is coming into view on the right hand side of your screen right there we’ve got another island over there on the left-hand side and hopefully this doesn’t take us into an underhang of an island where i might suffocate because the platform did spawn

Incredibly low down and from the looks of things we could be on a collision course like that but in the event that i do start to suffocate hopefully my pickaxe will be quick enough and we’ll be able to dig our way out of there we are kind of

On a collision course for this island i’m taking a quick look around but i can’t see any end cities right away i didn’t expect it to be quite honest with you we’re probably not going to see one of those for a little while yet and with all of the endermen clustered on the

Shore like that the switchback to first person viewers honestly kind of nightmarish not to mention the fact that visually speaking i’m kind of being hurled forward by the flying machine but hopefully it should come to rest right over here and that might even give us enough room that my boat

Is going to dock just underneath this section of end stone and with one final lurch forward my friends we have made it to the end absolutely incredible and i have to be very very careful where i tread here because the void is now below us but we have

Made landing on the outer end islands that is absolutely incredible i’m gonna dig my way up to the surface here and we’re gonna take a quick look around before we wrap up today’s episode and there right over there unbelievable i could not have asked for anything

Better we can’t even see the rest of the city yet but already we are looking at our salvation an end city ship floating in the void this close to where our flying machine has docked i can’t even see it where did it go down there well we leave one ship behind
