Pixlriffs – Stealing Indestructible End Crystals! ▫ The Minecraft Survival Guide (Tutorial Lets Play) [Part 167]

Hello everyone my name is pig Soros and welcome back to the Minecraft Survival Guide if I could use this for an intro it sort of worked out a bit weird anyway welcome back lovely to have you here for this episode of the Minecraft Survival Guide I hope you are having a good day

Today we are going to do something that I have never done before in Minecraft and in fact I’ve seen very few people do we’re going to steal an end crystal from the dragon while the dragon is still generating and that end crystal is going to be invulnerable now this is something

That I have seen mostly done by a youtuber by the name of Cub fan at 135 here’s an excellent guy a very talented technical minecraft player and also a bit of a powerhouse over on the hermit craft server and his sort of specialty his kind of signature move in Minecraft

Is taking an end crystal from the dragon while it’s still regenerating while it’s still got that beacon beam kind of thing coming out of it that points towards where the dragon respawns and what he does is shift it off of the obsidian tower in time before the dragon

Can respawn and then bring it back to the overworld where it still has that beam coming out of it which points actually in the overworld towards the 0-0 point and that can be used for a variety of kind of special effects it’s mostly just a bit of a stunt and I like

That idea because what I want to do is get us to the point where in this world we don’t need to fight the dragon anymore we’ve we’ve fought the dragon enough times and done enough stuff with the dragon fight that we can call it good and we are getting close to having

Generated twenty end gateways out there which is the maximum amount of end gateways you can generate to take you to the outer islands what I want to do ultimately is build a kind of hub in the end much like the nether hub in a way but

One that gives you easy access to all of those gateways so we don’t have to keep ender pearling or flying into them every single time we can just kind of walk up there and drop ourselves in casually so what I want to do is get to the point

Where you can build with any kind of building blocks in the end without having to worry about the dragon let let me let me clarify that for you the dragon will destroy any player placed blocks in the end that aren’t made of n stone or obsidian and I’m pretty sure it

Won’t destroy the end crystals it won’t destroy the bedrock it flies through stuff at a kind of random trajectory the way the dragon sort of circles around the island occasionally goes through the scenery and anything you build there is you know has the potential to be destroyed if the

Dragon makes contact with it it doesn’t cause any kind of big explosion or anything it just gets deleted and so I want to get this world to the point where we don’t need to summon the dragon anymore and we can build in the end as much as we want without it being in

Danger of being destroyed by the dragon so before that I want to do some of the cool things you can do with the dragon fight and one of those things is to steal an end crystal so that’s what we’re going to do today it’s gonna be a

Bit of a tricky thing and once again I’m pretty sure this is something you can only do in the Java edition of the of the game it’s one of those things that it’s one of those quirks that happens exclusively in Java you could try it in

Bedrock if you wanted to I do not know how much success you would have so keep that in mind right let’s go and grab some supplies I’ve just got back from the mapping area so I probably need to do a little bit of storing away of some

Of the blocks that we have in here I’ve got Shilka boxes full of material from that but what we should need is actually relatively few things here we need a wood log in a couple of leaves we need some redstone bits for a flying machine we need a little bit of obsidian which

We could always get from the end if we wanted to but I have plenty of it here in reserve I think I think we should be good here so here we are back in the familiar cold desolate landscape of the end with only two end gateways left to generate there

Is one that’s gonna go there and there’s one that’s gonna go there and those two are gonna be two separate dragon fights but if all goes well I shouldn’t need to fight the dragon at all today should be able to get this all done and dusted pretty quickly now the trick here is

Going to be figuring out exactly which end crystal generates first and I think I have a feeling it is the eastern one I think it’s that one that gets generated first but there are ways we could test that out however I’m willing to take it on blind faith at

This point because I’m fairly certain I remember the order in which the dragons crystals get regenerated and I think if we set up what we’re planning to do above this pillar here even if that’s not the first one to generate as long as it’s not the last one to generate we

Should have enough time so let me get up here and I’ll explain a little bit about what we’re going to do in this shelter box here I have a bunch of supplies that we’re bringing with us for this expedition I have a bunch of these Pistons which are just kind of there for

Just in case we’ll need to do a little bit of pushing around a little bit later we’ve got four end crystals with which we want to summon the dragon and you might be wondering why we’re trading for end crystals to get one end crystal the properties of the end crystal we’re

About to get from the top of this pillar are kind of interesting it’s invulnerable it’s you know there’s there’s some interesting stuff that we can do with it but anyway to start with we will need to get some leaves and some logs and the reason for this is that

Leaves have this interesting property in Java Minecraft where they get tagged with how far away they are from a log and that’s something that can be detected by an observer when it changes so we’re going to use that as a kind of remote trigger so that when this tower

Generates its in crystal and there’s that blast radius of an end crystal first forming where it deletes everything within a 21 by 21 area so basically 10 blocks out in each direction from the tower basically gets erased and the tower gets rebuilt when it does that it’s going to erase a wood

Log and that’s going to update some leaves which is then going to trigger a flying machine to come over here and get the end crystal off of this tower basically so we’ll see how that works out but in the meantime we can make a flying machine out of sticky

Pistons and slime blocks just about the simplest flying machine you can make got the observers for that as well those observers are going to be detecting the leaves and then from there we will need some obsidian to stop the end crystal from flying too far away because it

Could just disappear into loaded chunks in that direction once we set up the flying machine which is not what we want so let me build out from this platform we’ve got one two three blocks there we need four five six seven eight nine and

I want the tenth block here to be a lock and then I’ll put on the f3 debug screen and you will see that over there on the targeted block section it says oak leaves and then underneath that it says distance one and each time we get a

Block further away from this block of wood here then that’s going to yeah change the value of that distance marker all the way up to seven seven is the maximum it can be and so from here we can build upwards a couple of blocks and we can build a flying machine that’s

Going to sweep this off the off the pedestal over there let’s hop up here and let’s start building our flying machine there we want to observer facing into this leaf block and that block is going to have it’s got a distance of four in fact for safety I think we will

Probably come out a couple of blocks this way and the thing about these leaves is they do need to be connected to each other with their faces touching they can’t be diagonal they can’t be disconnected they all do have to be connected to a wood block in a line for

This to work out luckily for us in this instance leaves get crushed if they are pushed with a piston or any kind of block is pushed into them and they also don’t prevent slime block flying machines from moving slime blocks will not attach to leaves at all

So that’s actually kind of nice for the the purposes of this so what we’re gonna do is have an observer we’re gonna be detecting that so we need to have our piston facing this way I believe right so I’ll come out with a couple more leads here we’ll place a slime block

There okay I’ve made a small miscalculation here we can go back on that nice and easy not a problem we need to come up one more block and have the leaf block that’s being detected there in fact if that’s distance five I might as well move it out a little bit further

Give us a distance of six because we need the slime block flying machine to be on the level we’re standing on now and that we would be able to build it that way if I was building it the way I was just a second ago so we want our slime block to be

There that’s where we want the observer facing into the leaves like so and then we want the piston next to it like this facing that way good okay now where did I put that other slime block I dropped it that’s what happened I dropped it on the ground all right let

Me let me grab that one more time so yeah we need to make sure the slime block is at a height that it is going to sweep the end crystal off of this bedrock because of course bedrock cannot be pushed and I think we can add a slime

Block on there we can add a sticky piston on there like so okay we need to need to make sure we’re placing that in the right direction and observer there an observer facing this way and our slime block flying machine is all good to go now if anything updates this leaf

Block if I was to break this block here if I was to break that wood block down there this flying machine would start going we don’t want it to go quite yet we need it to go when the dragon fight is in progress and we also need to come

Out the other side here and at least ten blocks away we need to put an obsidian block that is going to stop the flying machine in its tracks once it has pushed the end crystal off this tower this is going to be quite spectacular once we actually get it done so I’m looking

Forward to this so I think about there will probably be good let’s grab some obsidian let’s do a couple blocks further out just to be safe and the obsidian can’t go there we can always use the same flying machine to bring the end crystal back after all of this so

Hopefully that should go well and I should be able to leave the leaves there I think that will be fine so in terms of the setup here we are pretty much done we’ve got our obsidian block in place that’s gonna stop the flying machine that is definitely on the right axis

Very good that’s gonna stop that piston from being pushed and basically slow the whole thing down which will stop the end crystal a little bit further away but the most important thing is it gets out of the radius of the obsidian on top of this tower you can do this just by

Setting up pistons and pushing them manually but it’s a little bit dangerous to get up here if the end crystal is going to explode and destroy blocks within this radius then we need to be a little bit careful of that and also it’s it’s quite difficult to get it done in

Time before the dragon completely respawns and this next bit is going to require some very precise timing and that’s where we hope that I am right about my hunch that this is going to be the first or second crystal to generate because once the dragon has started

Respawning here we need to check that this flying machine has been successful has pushed the end crystal off this podium here and then we need to destroy the crystals that are respawning the dragon stopping the dragon respawning process so that’s what we gonna do now

It’s going to be a little bit tricky and the timing is going to have to be a little bit precise but as long as we’re prepared we should be able to make it happen let’s sweep down here and our crystals to the portal and everything else should happen sort of automatically

I thought I had an Enderman rumbling in the distance then but it was just the minecart underneath my old end of pearl farm I really need to take that thing down any way we can put our four crystals around the portal like so and then stand at a distance and get ready

To shoot them with a bow when we’re ready to have this whole thing kick off yes okay that’s going to be the second one fantastic let’s check the flying machine is doing its work it is and that should be pushing off the pedestal right about now amazing alright now once we’re

Making sure that it is clear I’m going to destroy those end crystals that relights the portal in the center so that we can return to the overworld and it looks like we have been successful the end crystal is there it still got a beam pointing into the sky we don’t get

Another end gateway because we didn’t complete the dragon fight and kill the dragon but hopefully we can do a little bit of testing here but that end crystal should be completely invulnerable it also appears to be completely on fire right now which is a little bit quirky

But there you go there are also a ton of end crystals on pedestals around the outside where they have generated but those should not be invulnerable I should be able to shoot those down and maybe they aren’t I’ll have to test that in a second but if I shoot at this guy

Right here as you can see arrows are doing nothing we don’t get any explosion it’s also got the little bedrock pedestal which is possible because it’s not part of a full bedrock block this is just a kind of entity and we should be able to now push the end crystal the

Opposite way with the slime block flying machine and bring it in line with the portal so that’s the next step in getting this thing to come back to the overworld with us but if for example you wanted to keep this thing in the end and we wanted to move it out

To our end village and have it as a kind of monument there that’s really all we would need to do is just make sure there’s a slime block flying machine pushing it out into the void and do a very similar thing to what we did with

The villages where we have to keep the chunks loaded the entire time so we just kind of ride along with it so I’m gonna do a little bit of setup here I’m gonna make sure that I have some obsidian in place in the distance I need to grab my

Scaffolding so that I can make sure I’m placing stuff down in the right area but in the end we should be able to get this thing back to the overworld by pushing it back through the portal okay that’s the setup done I got uh some scaffolding out over there and placing

Obsidian block just to make sure that this flying machine has something to stop on and if we scaffold over there I think I might just use leaves for this to be honest because scaffolding is a bit of a pain when you have to place it

Down like this and all we should need to do is trigger this observer right here actually we might need to trigger the one on the opposite side thinking about it let’s pop over here and pop a block there yep that’s moving okay and that is moving our end crystal and you’ll notice

That the beam continues to point in the same direction even though it is actually changing the position of itself in the end so it’s always gonna be pointing to a spot above zero zero here in the in the end dimension but hopefully that should stop over there unless I’ve made a terrible

Miscalculation it should stop on that yep okay we go I think the end crystal actually faced through the slime block flying machine a little bit there and so we can take this down we can position it above the end portal and then hopefully we should be able to push it straight

Down into the portal as long as we’ve got a wide enough space for it to go through getting around that bedrock pillar in the middle is a little bit of an issue but no we should be able to do it and the coolest thing about this is

That you don’t have to be worried about this end crystal in the slightest oh yeah by the way should we try okay those do those do explode these ones though not so much so if they’re still on top of the obsidian pillars apparently I was just a really bad shot earlier these

Crystals should still explode just the same way any of the others would but since we push this one out of its out of its cradle out of its obsidian Tower to begin with then it’s it hasn’t got the same properties as that one it still got that kind of invulnerability tag the

Reason they’re invulnerable in the first place is that you can’t shoot the crystals down while they are in the process of respawning the dragon because that kind of ruins the whole point I guess because the the whole system of crystals is supposed to regenerate and then once the dragon spawns in that’s

When you can attack them obviously we didn’t ever spawn the dragon in in the first place so it’s it’s kind of a little a little bit of like it’s taking liberties slightly with the fact that this end crystal is even allowed to exist but still it is and I don’t know

If this will actually set me on fire fight it’s if the fire is purely an illusion as well wow that’s that’s quite quite something but ultimately what that means is that if we end up breaking some of these blocks in here I don’t have to worry too much about yep I just fell

Straight through that it’s basically an illusion that we can move around it’s what we’re dealing with here but yeah we don’t have to worry too much about this thing harming us in any way which is perfect now all we need to do is scaffold over to here probably place a

Few more scaffold towers so that we can make it over to the top of the end portal and let’s try pushing this thing back to the overworld okay we’re getting there we have got the end crystal down as far as this and I did do most of that

Manually with regular pistons because I wasn’t quite sure if a vertical slime block flying machine was going to encounter a few issues and it was gonna get all tangled up with the end crystal itself so what we’re gonna do now is probably break out a couple of wooden

Buttons I’ve been doing this mostly with observers the entire time and just placing stuff and triggering them it’s actually got a little bit faster than you might expect but if we take a look at the hitbox of this thing for a start we noticed that the obsidian knotty obsidian the bedrock

Like base plate for this doesn’t really exist it doesn’t form part of the hitbox of the crystal itself the crystal itself is a larger thing and because it is at a weird angle it’s kind of like across two blocks it’s kind of in a four by a 2×2

Area like a full block area it’s probably best if we try and get it through this section of the portal right here and hopefully that should avoid anything you know getting aligned with the bedrock pillar in the center and messing things up because that thing is

Kind of a big pain and it’s right in the middle there this is gonna be a tricky part of the process but it’s probably gonna be the case that we can pillar up here and get this thing aligned okay obviously looking at all the Enderman in

The process we can zero tick that piston and it’s not gonna push that anywhere or maybe we need to put a block next to it so okay yeah it’s not gonna get moved by zero tick pulse okay that’s that’s something new that I’ve learned during this process and one additional side

Effect of this process is that if you’re working with wood blocks around here that fire while it doesn’t seem to set the player on fire does start fires around the perimeter of the end crystal so we are seeing a couple of fires popping up but that’s fine I also have

Fire spread turned off so if you have spiked fire spread on in your world you’re doing this you might want to pay a little bit of attention to what kind of blocks you’re using here but now all we should need to do is push this a

Couple of blocks over and then down and hopefully that’s aligned properly so that it can go into the portal this is the nerve-wracking moment for me this is the moment where I hope we have done everything right and that this thing is going to go straight through the portal

Right now the hitbox is resting just above the portal frame so all we should need to do is give it one more push and it’s through hahaha that’s amazing that’s so cool like I said I’ve never actually done this before so it’s very cool to see this actually get pulled off

But what we’ve done now is send that end crystal through the end exit portal and what that’s done because the thing about players respawning in the overworld is that we have spawn points whether they are the original spawn point or beds usually that we have set our spawn out

During our time playing in the game anything else that goes through the portal though is going to just turn up at the world spawn points so if we go back through there I’m gonna respawn in one of the beds that I’ve slept in in the overworld but the end crystal is

Going to be at our exact world spawn basically the only point in the overworld where anything else can spawn other than the player when it comes to like exiting the portal like this anyway the spawn that all things return to if you like so let me let me hop up here

And clear out these leaves because I mean the Dragons gonna destroy them next time you summon the dragon anyway but nice to leave the place a little bit tidy we haven’t left anything else in the sky good let’s go back through to the overworld and find out where that

End crystal went well this is a strange site in the middle of our farmland isn’t it oh that is incredible and as you can see the fire is no longer present this end crystal has been successfully moved to the overworld along with a lot of our redstone furniture that we were using to

Move it and that thing is pointing as I said towards the zero zero coordinate because if you remember the world spawn doesn’t have to be at zero zero in fact it is more often than not displaced by a hundred blocks or so in any direction just in the direction where there is a

More consistent block of land and you can see the beam is actually pointing all the way to this spot here and that section of the swamp these little blocks right here if you’ll remember from our world editing tutorial is this is the point at which 0 0 is in

The overworld so we have a giant laser shooting into the sky from this point and you can use this for various different effect I have seen people use this as like the laser coming out of a Death Star type Raygun kind of thing or

Like a mining beam or a Cub fan used it in the most recent season of hermit craft at the time of this recording at least as a satellite kind of broadcasting data across the world and I like that idea I sort of like the crystal being some sort of mythical

Power source or kind of transmitting information or something like that and so I I want to do some fun stuff with this it’s probably going to attend more towards the fantasy side of things we’re gonna do some interesting stuff in this area I want to build out more stuff over

In this region around the world spawn point itself we’re going to expand founders Forge even further out and we’re going to do something neat with this crystal but as you can see the beam that it emits the kind of dragon summoning beam will cut through any

Block like it’s not going to get stuck on something like a beacon beam does it’s just going to go straight through to the other side and and shoot towards zero zero that’s going through solid rock and dirt over here and that’s that’s actually really quite impressive and it’s even oscillating slightly up

And down depending on the position of the end crystal itself which kind of hovers in its frame and this thing should still be indestructible I am kind of worried about ever breaking it or doing anything to it right now but I think we should still be able to move it

Around using the pistons and everything and so we can get this into a position where we want it I’m not sure where that is right now so I’m thinking for now I might just move it up to the top of this mountain so it can look like it is

Resting in a sort of understandable place and so that the the beam doesn’t just cut weirdly through the stone here but I think we got to move it to the top of this mountain and that’s where we’re gonna wrap up today’s episode and with one final piston push I think that’s

Where we’re going to leave the end crystal I think it’s gonna be good up here for safekeeping it’s gonna be out of the way enough that I won’t really notice the giant laser beam until we really know what we’re gonna do with this thing and for now I’m kind of not sure that

The so many different things we could use it for and I kind of want it to be in the context of like a fantasy style thing but the fact that it is pointing specifically to that zero zero point limits what we can do with it like we could pretend that the people in

Founders Forge are using this to like drill into the earth or something but it’s always gonna be pointing at that specific spot in the sky so it’s not always gonna look all that great if we try to like position it over the ravine or something like that so I’m gonna put
