Hello everyone my name is pixel riffs and welcome back to the minecraft earth survival guide I hope you guys are having a good day today we’re gonna cover something we weren’t able to cover in yesterday’s feature overview video because there simply wasn’t one close enough to my office location and that is Adventures Adventures are a feature of Minecraft Earth that allows you to take on a small challenge or uncover a secret in a kind of small custom build plate that is placed automatically by the game out there in the world and I’ve encountered a few of these by now so I’ve seen a Little bit about what to expect these are places you can earn rare resources you can get hold of materials that you would otherwise have to craft avoiding those crafting timers you get a little bit of experience and you also get to explore the world around you so I’ve Done a bunch of adventures by now I think I’m probably done about like 10 or 15 adventures at this point and I’ve always come away from them with something that I wasn’t able to get from tappa balls or a chest but they’re also a really good way of farming the basic Building blocks through Minecraft style gameplay the kind of stuff that you could just pull out of a build plate but these are build plates that you don’t necessarily return to all the time they’re not saved to your device they’re spontaneous they spawn at random places In the world and you can just pick them up and play them as soon as you find them now I say random places but now that I think about it they might actually be tied to landmarks in kind of the same way that Pokemon go set up poki Stops and gyms but there is nothing specific in the app that ties them to that location the adventures will just pop up in convenient places where you can stop for a few minutes and unpack all of the stuff that they have to offer they are timed they have a bunch of Interesting stuff about them that you will not find elsewhere in Minecraft Earth it’s worth diving into so that’s what I did me and my wife were able to go out the first day I had access to minecraft Earth which thankfully was quite a nice day so we were able to get Out to a park that’s quite local to us and we ended up filming a little bit of footage of me walking around but we were able to find an adventure in the park that I could complete and since then I’ve gone and done a few more so you’ll See some footage about that and I’m gonna collect my thoughts about the adventure experience within minecraft earth into this video so this is the first time you’re gonna see me taking Minecraft Earth out in a and believe me it is not the last so we are very close to one of these things With beacons which is an adventure and around here we have a bunch of resources that we can gather depending on which direction we want to travel now the one thing I’d been told about adventures from friends in Australia who’d already played the early access of Minecraft Earth was to bring at least a pickaxe with you and that proved to be really good advice because these are basically the closest thing you will get to a survival experience in Minecraft earth you’ll need the right tools to mind blocks otherwise you won’t be able to Break through them it’s not like a build plate where you can effectively use creative mode to knock out and replace blocks you’re acting on the scenery around you in the same way that you would in minecraft survival so making sure you’ve harvested a bit of wood from trees crafted some sticks and crafted Yourself a stone pickaxe is probably the bare minimum you’ll want and that really doesn’t take very long as couple of sticks takes 30 seconds and the pickaxe itself usually takes around 5 minutes so not a big deal not something you need to rush through the crafting of you can Basically have that craft itself as you’re walking towards the site of the adventure normally if a tappa Ballabh jecht comes into that circle you see on the map that’s actually how close you need to be to something before you can tap on them with adventures though it’s A little bit different you have to be right up on them in order to tap them and get the adventure to start primarily because once it starts you have to place down a build plate it’s not quite as forgiving as pokemons go it’s not quite as forgiving as the other tap levels in This game oh then really do have to walk right up to where this tree is the tree which the tree is the doorway to adventure once you get within range though the outline starts to glow and you should be able to tap on it ok get Ready and be courteous to all the real world players around you while playing all of them no player has visited adventurer yet we are the first the first to take on this adventure mr. e full of delights and scary sights maybe well before I do this I’m gonna Plug my phone in because I have no idea how much battery I have left but this game drains battery like nobody’s business apparently those squirrels are here on adventure I really mean it about the battery pack by the way the AR segment of this game uses the most Battery of any elements of the game so if you don’t have some way to recharge your phone I recommend not getting into it I don’t know what I need to bring I don’t have any food I have some raw chicken from that chicken the other day I have no idea what to expect at this point I’m just gonna dive in and play unfortunately at this point in the game the app crashed because it seems to have a problem starting adventures but once I loaded the app up again it seemed to work better the second time Okay so is getting ready to play okay this says rates go tap place when you’re ready so I have to place this adventure here oh oh my can I see I can’t see yeah the framerate might be a little dodgy because this is my iPhone and not anything more sophisticated but Yeah I can gather these blocks okay interesting so the adventures are actually quite good way of gathering resources even if you have to dismantle these interesting structures that they’ve built but that might be the key to solving puzzles or something later I’m not quite sure what the deal is with things i’m Just here like tapping on my phone i know i’m like and at this point you basically have to accept the fact that you are a strange person in the park looking at your phone and tapping on it frantically while you walk around as though there’s something there to Anybody observing you from the outside this is gonna feel a little bit weird but the experience of these things being in the space in augmented reality is so immersive that you get quite caught up in it and you really start to not worry about that too much at this point i Spotted a couple of pieces of tnt that were down there connected by some redstone wire I didn’t want to trigger the TNT even though that there was a lever down there that I’d already kind of spotted in my peripheral vision but I figured maybe I could try and interact With some of the redstone elements and all you need to do is activate interact mode minecraft ahead of his woman I like to put the TMT there oh my gosh it’s gonna blow up that’s so cool that’s amazing and if I oh I can pick up the blocks that it destroyed as well That’s great so these adventures are actually a really interesting way of getting stuff like redstone stone brick stairs the stairs that you see all around the entrance to this cave area those are actually things that you can only typically find in chests because they are crafted items they’re the kind of Thing that you’d have to wait for in the crafting menu so if you stumble on one of these adventures and you feel like harvesting resources from it get as much as you can of the stuff that isn’t just basic stone basically all the stuff that I’m tapping on in this because I don’t Know quite how rare anything is at this stage of gameplay but it’s really worth gathering up the Redstone the fences anything like that anything you see made out of stone brick especially things like TNT that have an epic rarity attached to them those are things that you’re gonna find so seldom that it’s Really worth having them if you can grab them from an adventure venture into the cave the the adventure no like I’m just suspended over the top of this right now like I’ve not walked off the edge of any blocks or anything so it is just like through the ground yeah and to something That’s down there but you can’t fall from what I can tell and they’ll seem to be pretty safe you’ve only really got access to what we can see but what I can see is a bunch of gravel and very old person Wyatt this is really weird I’m mining iron in the real world That’s so strange but since I’ve got a stone pickaxe I can actually get it so I might as well and if I can craft the iron into a bucket at this point some of you may have noticed stood a little red hourglass symbol has popped up and while I initially didn’t realize what this meant that actually means that your time with the adventure is running short and it’s gonna end soon oh maybe adventure expires after so yeah it’s got a screen that says all the things things I kind of agree with adventure resources weren’t all amazing so I got 20 Experience for that I guess it’s just showing me all of the the stuff that I got from that adventure where the most valuable stuff is one TNT I got 14 redstone and two blocks of iron ore so I can make an iron sword if I wanted to Nice cool so with a little bit of an experience reward and a quick roundup of all of the items that you’ve collected it deposits you back on the map and luckily for me another adventure had basically spawned a right near by so if I wanted to I could repeat the same Experience but that’s not always going to be the case as you’ll see in just a moment the same look like does it look the same or is it different now well okay when you going in yeah I think this has drained my battery faster than the things in charge my Battery yeah which is not great No then again I am recording this at the same time well this is a different one is it different completely different one this is it’s just a build plate with that there in the world it’s different tree yeah that’s all I guess I could if I get My sword out I can probably kill the chicken yes I killed the chicken I got a fair that I got some chicken well that’s cool cuz I’ll probably need some food a little bit rough break the blocks of my sword that seems fairly normal yes sir two pair of the zombies hello you What is there there’s a couple of zombies in there in where in there like a cave yeah there’s like a little underground section that I broke into by breaking the grass blocks all I got some coal as well that’s good because they don’t really give you much in the way of like Options for fuel for the furnaces so if you want to smelt anything you’re using up would just furiously tapping on everything I can see right now but the bedrock is only a few blocks down there is what looks like some wood down there oh and there’s a spider I can see some Gold will I be able to get that with this pickaxe I don’t think I will no I can’t I can’t mining yeah I don’t have to don’t have the pickaxe that don’t have the technology you just want to crouch down low you keep like you hunting it’s in the ground I definitely have any other way to describe it it’s not a good for your posture but it does show that it is immersive in that in that way yeah one thing is for sure I’m gonna need to craft another pickaxe very soon and that takes time on the timers ooh So I’m probably gonna have to try and punch this spider and then others a couple spiders down there in a cobweb can I get the cobweb with my swords will that give me string it does give me string okay good that’s something I am familiar with but yeah I guess I have to Come back here with an iron pickaxe because his lap is down there as well I can’t Rover I can harvest laughs faced with down there my pickaxe is just broken whoa there is really no way and probably break down in my suit lots of gravel that I can break my suit It’s so cool just being able to walk around these and be able to see stuff from a different angle they both walked over to here who would have known that there was sinkhole down there that I can get but I can’t get that with my stolen Sword they have no pickaxe right now so I’m gonna have to back out of the adventure which I guess I can do by going back to the map I sure do want to stop playing there we go so does that give me XP who they like you completed It I don’t know do you have to complete it to get the XP I mean there is no completion there’s no goal necessarily it’s just like uncover what’s there yeah we’ve got ten experience for that and I got a ton of blocks hmm I can go back to the map And another one has just popped up so you can basically farm these things like if you stand here and repeat the same adventure over and over again you could effectively farm resources this way okay oh my gosh all the pigeons went the adventure is done farewell that really Startled me so that’s a decent look at the benches I think they seem to be randomly generated it’s probably a few of them that it would cycle through it’s not the same one in every location every time neat way to get experience a good way to get extra blocks but then the Minecraft Element comes in a little bit more way you have to be able to smelt stuff and craft stuff after since that point I have done a few more adventures and I have a few basic tips for you guys first start I recommend going into your inventory clearing out your hotbar you Can still access this stuff during the inventory but it just makes things a little bit easier make sure you only have stuff you want to take with you bring more than one stone pickaxe so that you don’t run out of durability midway through and make sure you have a Sword with you just in case a few mobs turn up you can also use torches to light up areas as the adventure gets a little bit deeper and believe me some like the one I’m about to show you do get quite deep into the quote-unquote ground so it’s kind of interesting to See how these things turn out one thing I really wish I’d realized at the time though is that there is a punch mode that is only accessible in adventures in build plates that is a pickup mode but it does still allow you to punch things and like in regular Minecraft anything That you could break with your fist and would drop as a block can be collected this way so you can save durability on those tools which is especially good considering you have to craft tools in between sessions and that takes time you will also want to make sure that you Pick up basically every block in an adventure if you have time to do so and if you have the tools to do so for example crafted blocks like the wood fences that are all around me right now really quite useful to pick up and some of those are actually involved with Challenges that will gain you experience and stuff for daily quests placing them on build plates that kind of things so it’s actually kind of useful to pick that stuff up when you can because otherwise you’ll find yourself having to crawl later disregard your usual minecraft instincts by the way because your Inventory as far as I can tell is infinite so aside from obvious inventory sorting problems you don’t have to worry too much about collecting absolutely everything you find you will have storage space for it no matter what physics in these build plates and adventures also work exactly the same as They do in regular Minecraft which includes fluid physics you can see here I accidentally opened up a water source in one corner of the wall and I can block it off there with a block of dirt and that has done some stuff to the lava it has not however turned the lava Source into obsidian and I don’t know if that’s even possible or if just the lava source wasn’t exposed to the water at the time but right now I don’t have a diamond pick so I don’t have the ability to mine obsidian anyway naturally placing a block in the lava source will Destroy it so it can clear out the rest of the bottom of that build plate in case there are any resources hidden down there and I’ve a couple of times managed to find myself some extra iron that way much as I suggested disregarding your usual instincts when it comes to Inventory management you should also disregard your minecraft instincts when it comes to tools stone pickaxes are gonna get you through these adventures and the only time you need to use an iron pickaxe in this at all is to mine stuff that needs an iron pickaxe like gold or redstone and eventually diamonds I have still not found any diamonds in these adventures by the way so they might be not in the game yet they might be coming at a later date I’m not certain but you don’t really need a diamond pickaxe you’re not going to be getting obsidian and going to the nether In Minecraft Earth’s so the only reason to have a diamond pickaxe is for the sake of durability and really that’s probably going to cost you a long time to craft it when you can just use stone pickaxes to my nearly everything and bust out an iron pickaxe for those rare Occasions on which you find gold or redstone some of these bill plates have tricks up their sleeves though like this one where this unassuming cobblestone peel at the top here actually has a creeper hidden inside of it so I luckily was a little bit curious about that and Was able to get rid of the creeper before it did any serious damage but you’re clearly meant to mine out these blocks of iron ore before you do anything else then the gravel drops down and the creeper gets you if you’re in a busy areal somewhere that’s gonna be kind of Noisy I got my thumb in front of the camera a couple of times there it’s really silly anyway if you’re gonna be in the area where there’s gonna be a lot of noise around I recommend wearing headphones so you can hear mob noises because there are clearly some skeletons And zombies hanging out in this build plate somewhere and I needed to track those down to make sure they weren’t gonna cause any kind of problem for me as I opened up this scene I did notice that the underground a section of this is much larger than the opening you get To look through and that put me at a bit of a disadvantage because despite the fact I can see down into this scene here and mine up that TNT a skeleton shoots me in a couple of seconds and I have no idea where it came from I could see that Zombie but then I think the skeleton is strafing around underneath me and the directional indicators on the screen are not all that accurate and it keeps telling me that the skeleton is shooting me from my left and I keep looking around me to try and find it as though It’s got onto the surface somehow it really hasn’t it’s down there in the mineshaft so keep your wits about you make sure that you can spot any mobs right now the glare on my screen was also kind of bad because it was sunny outside but then the timer on this Adventure started to run out anyway so I couldn’t really explore it with the time that I had luckily for me the game gave me a bit of a second chance and loaded up exactly the same adventure very close by so I was able to do the same thing I Did with the creeper and eventually I got the better of the skeletons by opening up a hole in the wall where I’d found a lava source and leaving the TNT there this time ready for it to explode some mobs had survived the explosion but I was able to just about take care of Them with my stone sword I’m still not entirely sure if you’re able to heal up during adventures and I don’t think you can craft Armour yet so the good news is you can save all of that precious iron to make tools but I was able to get the Better of them eventually and gather what resources there were left in here before my stone pickaxe eventually gave up all I was left to do after that was just to take a look around the scene with some torches and see if there was anything left to discover down there you Maybe get a drop on anything that I’m be able to make a beeline for next time I got this adventure and one of the zombies I took out actually dropped an iron ingots which is a perfect thing to grab because of course it’s something that you have to spend some time Smelting so that kind of bypasses that whole system one thing I learned from this example and I’m gonna apologize now because the sound is not present in this clip I had my phone on mute at the time and I didn’t realize it wasn’t going to record the sound effects from the game Itself but when I place down this adventure it was relatively smaller didn’t have any real secrets under the surface there was a little bit of iron ore and this was actually the adventure where I realized that you could place blocks just like you can in regular Minecraft to clear out lava sources so That was kind of cool but I completed this one well within the time limit and was able to back out to the map with the entire thing cleared out into a bedrock hole then I noticed an adventure had spawned nearby me on the map I loaded it Up and it was the same adventure so what I got back was what I had left to this adventure looking like a giant bedrock hole in the ground it didn’t immediately respawn with new stuff for me to do so those timers are actually more like how Often they pop up in the world rather than just a set time limit that begins when you start the adventure so for me adventures are actually some of the coolest things you can do in Minecraft earth not only because you get to see Minecraft scenes in some of your Favorite neighborhood places but also because there are an opportunity to acquire a ton of resources that you might not be able to get otherwise they are pretty easily farmable if you just wander within a good distance of a well populated area you’re likely to find a few and also it’s the closest thing We’re gonna get to a survival minecraft experience within minecraft earth complete with all of the animals and resources and interesting surprises that you’re gonna get if you dig a little further down into these build plates so that’s gonna be it for this episode of the Minecraft Earth Survival Guide I do Hope you enjoyed the video please don’t forget to leave a like on it if you did subscribe if you want to see more and maybe I’ll see you out there in
