Hey guys cloud here and today we will be covering a new command added in snapshot 22w18a which was uh uploaded on may 4th 2022. it may or may not be in 1.19 uh if i don’t rename the video or remove the video in the future Then that means it is in 1.19 so keep that in mind uh so this is a new command called slash place which is interesting we had slash place feature earlier but it didn’t do everything that slash place does which is kind of interesting so we have slash Place and it lets you select feature or jigsaw or structure which is really nice because before what you had to do is if you wanted to place something from a structure block you would have to place the structure block with probably a command that has a hard-coded name right Here which is like uh words whatever name it is and you had to place it like this but it would not generate the structure you would actually have to trigger it with a redstone block a tick later which is kind of inconvenient and weird to handle So now we have a specific command that will just place a structure as if it were like a structure loading from a structure block of course you don’t have all the intricate settings that a structure block is going to have but you do have the ability to do it anyways so here we Have place feature let’s start with place feature so a feature is something from world gen okay a feature includes like trees and uh here you have like desert wells they’re not necessarily like villages but they’re smaller things they’re like a geode that spawns under ground uh they’re more Smaller like details features as you which is a pretty nice description of what they are uh and they’re kind of just placed around randomly but they don’t actually have like other things connected to them that’s what jigsaws are for so you can place things like a tree a Birch tree and this will place a birch tree for me uh okay so that’s how you place the features you just specify the location where you want to place the feature there are some rules with features that may have weird behavior for you for example The birch tree needs to have a piece of dirt under it so you have to place it two blocks up if i put it one block up it would overwrite the command block because it places from where the origin of where the command is run it puts a dirt uh two blocks under It which is kind of weird uh so you may run into some weird stuff like that next thing to cover i will do structures but it’s not that complicated to go through these so we can place an igloo and we can place it right here And that’s really all we can do we can just place it but as you’ll see structures have some special rules too so when i place it the orientation that it spawns is based on how the structure is saved okay so in this case it was just saved in this particular Orientation uh with the origin actually up because as you know under igloo there is a little experimentation chamber down here with the villager so that’s kind of the caveat here is uh you need to know how your structure is saved so you know how it will be oriented and in this case Some of the built-in ones are oriented kind of interestingly like that also if i try to run igloo it also forces itself to attach to the ground so that is another thing to note uh another thing to note is the rotation i think is random or based on Where you place it but you’ll have to play around with that and some of the built-in ones do weird stuff uh so then the final one is jigsaw and this is where you can place actual uh more detailed structures with jigsaws okay so here is just we’re gonna place let’s go with uh Planes and if i run that we get a whole village popping up so the basic format of the command is you have to place probably you want to place a town center for a village because that’s kind of a starting point but you could place from a different starting point Then you need to specify the id name and for the village the id name is bottom but i think that you can look on the wiki they might have some information on all of the id names if not i’ll try and link something in the description that Has some of the id names because even i don’t know uh exactly all the target names i think you might be able to use top not well bottom is the only one that i could find as a example currently you also specify the depth which will kind Of have to do with how many jigsaws are allowed to be connected to the starting jigsaw so 7 i think is the max so if i do something over here like a depth of 1 you will really only get the town center with one connected to each jigsaw uh but Seven obviously made a very large village uh which doesn’t have any houses connected to it interestingly but i’m not uh an expert on jigsaws so don’t ask me why there’s no houses anyways that’s all for this command pretty interesting nice features that allow you to work with world gen in your commands which Could be kind of interesting to tie both world gen and commands together it definitely makes things a little bit easier on the structure generation side so that could be cool for some kind of custom spawning thing but anyways thanks for watching guys and i’ll see you next time peace Video Information
