What’s going on my dudes welcome to the channel i’m quinnybags and today my dudes i’m going to be teaching you guys how to start off with brewing in minecraft going over the most basic ways of brewing today so if you guys are an absolute noob or just a beginner at Minecraft and don’t know how to brew any potions this is gonna be a beginner’s guide for brewing potions we’re not gonna get too technical but we’re just gonna teach you the basics that way you guys can get started so let’s go ahead and get started now if you guys are Excited to learn how to brew potions don’t forget to comment like and subscribe let’s get started all right here we are in my little laboratory uh yeah it’s it’s not much it’s just a villagers home so starting off with brewing potions there’s going to be four main things you’re going to need we’re Going to need nether wart we’re going to need a water bottle of course now of course a glass stack of glass bottles helps we’re going to need blaze powder and we need one main ingredient which we are going to be using sugar today now these two items here netherwar actually comes from Nether fortresses you can actually find the work growing inside the fortress super easy to find and then blaze powder actually comes from blaze rods when you kill a blaze you can actually turn the rod that they drop into a powder by putting it in your crafting slot so all These items are going to be your main items now the sugar that doesn’t matter you can have any ingredient you want i’m going to pop up a chart here these are all the key ingredients for actually brewing potions check out this chart can’t really get it zoomed in probably Perfectly but check it out and if you want any help further check the wiki for your whole list of potions so we’re going to grab these four main items first so you’re going to walk up to your brewing stand as you guys can see and yes you’re gonna need a brewing stand And that is just gonna be three pieces of cobblestone and one blaze rod and you can make one of these bad boys or you know what you can actually find them sometimes in villager homes depending if you find a cleric or not but uh yeah you Can go ahead and use that if you find one all right so getting started with the easiest and just simplest way to start brewing potions we’re just gonna start by grabbing a water bottle putting it here we need blaze powder so basically blaze powder works as the fuel Inside of the actual brewing stand and then we have nether wart so now basically with brewing potions any potion you want to brew you have to put in nether war over top of a water bottle now of course it helps to have three water bottles that way you’re not Wasting your nether wart so i do recommend you put three in here instead of just one just like how i put it there we go so putting three in here is just gonna be more efficient over time so we’re gonna start with just putting our nether wart into the bottle which will Make an awkward potion a real really awkward right so basically what happens is we make an awkward potion here now we’re ready to put in our next ingredient so we’re going to be using sugar today now like i said we’re doing this super basic today dudes this isn’t going to be too In-depth or anything and i might make up more further in-depth one in the future so here we go we’re just going to be putting one ingredient in right now the sugar is going to get basically brewed into these and we’re gonna have a really cool potion in just a few minutes all Right as you guys can see we got the potion of swiftness so really cool sugar actually makes a potion of swiftness and now when we drink that potion we’re gonna be faster so if we open up our inventory here it says our speed is three minutes now we have an extra speed One so we’re just gonna be a little bit quicker which is really really cool and it makes the game really fun when you use all these different effects now we still have two of these potions left so we’re gonna do a little bit of experimenting on them so i’m gonna open Up here and we actually have some different items here we can actually make our potion different using these items we have redstone dust and we have glowstone dust now redstone’s really cool when you put redstone over top of a pre-brewed potion it’s actually going to make the duration longer so see how we Have speed one right now at three minutes so that’s 20 speed for three minutes when we actually use redstone over top of a regular potion it’s gonna affect the duration now depending on what potion you’re making it all depends on the duration but if you check the Chart if you actually check the brewing chart you’ll see but here we go instead of three minutes we now have an eight minute potion which is so so cool now instead of using the redstone i’m gonna pop a piece of glowstone in here use the same three minute 20 Speed potion and watch what happens when we actually use the glowstone all right check this out so this is really cool so we went from speed one to speed two so instead of a twenty percent speed boost we actually gaining forty percent but here’s the thing instead of having three Minutes of speed one we have a minute and 30 seconds of speed two so that is the difference between using a redstone dust and a glowstone dust on your already brewed potion so that’s really really cool right so it actually gets even cooler here we can go ahead and Grab gunpowder here and watch this if we put a piece of gunpowder now this works with both potions but it’s gonna vary how it affects them so we’re just gonna go ahead and put in a piece of gunpowder over my swiftness one potion with eight minutes of speed and then my uh speed Two well i mean my potion of swiftness with speed two for a minute and 30 seconds now watch what it’s gonna do to these potions it’s really really cool this is just a great beginner guide i’m teaching you guys so here we go we have splash potion now so instead of being a Drinkable potion the uh the gun powder actually makes it a splashable potion so instead of your traditional drinking potion we’re just gonna go ahead and you can actually throw it down now the thing about throwing these down hold on i’m gonna wait for this 10 second counter to Go up all right that’s done so i’m just gonna show you guys this so right now we have a speed one at eight minutes right but when we throw it down with a splash potion boom we actually lost one minute off of it being a splash potion even though it Wasn’t advertised as losing a minute it wasn’t advertised as seven minutes is advertised as eight minutes we still lose it so but the cool thing is about a splash potion you your buddies or any mob you want to throw it at you can actually use it on so check that out That’s pretty cool right like look the iron golem is moving a lot quicker so like say you’re riding a horse or anything like that you can use these potions in different variations and use them on different mobs which is so so cool all right dudes did you guys Thought we were done no no no no now the last step here for the last potion you can actually make a lingering potion which is really cool and it makes tipped arrows and we’re going to show you guys that really quick here so the next thing You want to do is collect up dragon’s breath dragon’s breath all you gotta do bring glass bottles bring them when you’re fighting the dragon collect up the breath using the glass bottle go ahead grab yourself a splash potion put your dragon breath up top your splash Potion beneath this is going to make you a lingering potion this is so you can actually use this speed effect on your arrows which is really really cool and we’re going to show you guys that next all right so my lingering potion of swiftness is here and as you can see now The speed’s even cut down even lower to 22 seconds because of course it being on an arrow alright so to make these we’re going to go ahead and grab eight arrows we’re gonna put them around the crafting box here with our lingering potion right in the middle and here you go arrow of Swiftness it even drops down a little bit more but we have 40 speed speed two and 11 seconds so now whatever target i shoot even myself will have that speed so if i just go like this boom as you can see the effect is on him look at him Run away oh my god that was so epic did you see that he was speeding dudes so there you go that is pretty cool as well that is how to make lingering potions and make them into tipped arrows and remember guys you can do this with any Of your potions that you brew so make sure to check out the potion guide that i post up here um it’s just a chart to show you what potions you can actually brew you’re best off going on wikipedia and just going and saving that image on Your computer or your phone that way you can look at it anytime you need it all right my dudes i hope you guys enjoyed this quick little tutorial on brewing potions i try to make it as fast as possible that way it doesn’t take up too Much time out of your day but hopefully you guys get into brewing potions of minecraft there’s a lot of stuff in minecraft we don’t know about um when you first start the game and it’s good to learn all the little features in the game so make sure to go check those out And uh make sure
