Sup witches welcome back to my channel if we’ve never met before my name is gianna and i’m a witch so in today’s video i’m going to be showing you guys how to make your very own potions i recently got a comment asking me to talk a little bit about how I make my own potions and how i come up with my own recipes so today i want to break down my entire potion making process we’re going to do step by step so you can see how i make my potions before we start i’m going to light some Incense because the element of air relates to the mind i love working with air to promote creativity and inspiration whenever i’m writing spells or potion recipes i’m using some nag champa and i’m burning it in a little incense cauldron because cauldrons represent creation so that’s just another layer in that helpful energy That i’m building up so the first step in making a potion is the same as writing any other spell start by figuring out what the purpose of the spell is going to be what is this potion actually going to do for you today i’d like to make a love potion Something that’ll attract loving energies into my life i thought that would be interesting because i haven’t done a potion like that on my channel before and i love showing you guys new things so now that we have our intention down and mine is to attract loving energies into my life Now we’ve got to figure out how this potion is going to be used i made a whole video on different types of potions so if you want to get some ideas on all the ways potions can be used i suggest going to check out that video after this one But just to give you guys some ideas you could turn it into a bath additive you could use it as a room spray and you can even consume a potion as long as the ingredients are edible they don’t have harmful interactions and you’re using food safe cookware to actually brew that Potion i think this potion will be used to enchant a crystal pendant it’s a cool process and i’d like to take the opportunity to show you guys how i would do that so now that we have that down we can start to build the recipe for our potion I like to start with ingredients which i choose by considering their magical correspondences and deciding what ingredients will work well together when choosing ingredients you really have to make sure that all of your ingredients play nice together because when working with herbs there is the possibility of harmful chemical interactions and this Is why a witch should have a really well-rounded area of study because it’s really important to study the herbalism that goes along with the work hunting that which is used in magic and studying geoscience to make sure your crystals aren’t toxic is just as important as studying the magical correspondence of Those crystals okay so let’s figure out the ingredients that we want to use first let’s talk about our liquid base because potions are of course liquid i prefer to use moon water for all my spell work but you can use any type of enchanted water that you want Some potions are even made with drinks like wine milk or juice and some potions are oil-based i even have a video on making spell oils if you want to learn my process for doing that but for today like i said i’m choosing moon water like i always do now let’s consider the herbs That we’re going to be using our potion now you can find herbs and magical correspondences online or in books like this one this is cunningham’s encyclopedia of magical herbs i showed this off in one of my other potion videos and it’s really popular in the witchcraft community already so you’re Probably already well acquainted with this material so for my potion i’m looking for herbal correspondences that relate to love i’m pretty familiar with these already so right off the bat i’m going to choose rose petals for romance lavender for harmony and hibiscus for beauty and passion now that we have some Herbs chosen i like to start thinking about my ritual correspondences like crystals candles incense lunar phases and timing for crystals rose quartz seems appropriate and i’ll be using rose quartz for the pendant that i’m enchanting as well i might also throw in some clear quartz for amplification in My rituals i really like to use candles to build up energy i think they’re fantastic and almost all of my rituals include a candle but it just so happens that candles represent fire and fire corresponds really well to love and passion so it’s really nice to use that in this type of Ritual i’m also going to be choosing red as the color of my candle in this ritual because red corresponds to love now red to me is very deep and passionate love pink might be another good choice for a candle color if you want something a little bit more gentle and loving but It’s really how you see color i’m also going to be dressing my candle so i’m thinking about oils and i happen to have rose oil on hand and i think that’s going to be fantastic for the spell because we’re really building up that loving energy with the power of rose So i’m going to dress my candle in rose oil and then i’m going to coat my candle in cinnamon to further amplify that loving energy and cinnamon is also a really powerful magical amplifier so this is going to add that burst of energy to the spell that makes it really Really powerful so now i’m moving on to the non-physical correspondences that i like to consider for me the lunar phase is very important so the lunar phase that i want to work with is the waxing or full moon now waxing is going to attract things into your life and bring things to you Help them grow and the full moon to me is just the most powerful time that i can cast magic so i like to use the full moon whenever i can now timing might be the time of the day or perhaps you might want to consider astrology This could also be the day of the week so i like to cast a love spell on a friday and this is because friday relates back to the goddess freyja so it’s just kind of a day of divine love for me now moving on to the deity correspondence um for me I am a practitioner of natural magic almost 99 of the time which means i don’t really rely on a deity or spirit to cast my magic for me so i i don’t worry about the deity when i’m writing my spells but this might be something That you want to add into your spell now that we have the bare bones of our potion it’s time to put all the pieces together in a ritual that feels magical to you so think about how you want to brew and use your potion and write a ritual Around that in your own magical style i like intricate rituals that involve incantations tools and added layers of symbolism but you can make it as simple or complex as you like like i said i’m going to be using this potion to make a love charm to attract Loving energies into my life so i’ve written a ritual that includes the process of brewing the potion and enchanting the pendant and instead of explaining my ritual here i decided i’m just going to demonstrate that ritual for you guys in this video right here that way not only will you be able to See my writing process come together but i can also teach you how to cast this spell if you want to try it out for yourself but until then happy casting Video Information
