Which is a good idea you want to start off by collecting some wood so first things first after you get the wood you’re going to hit e like that little note up there is telling you to do now once you’re in there you’re gonna put that wood into the little two by two

Square up in the upper right so you drop it down now hit shift hold shift down and left click on the thing that appeared on the right yep there you go so you made some wood planks congratulations that’s exciting stuff but so now what you’re going to

Want to do is you’re going to want to hit escape to exit out of your inventory right i do like how this guy’s just following the mouse left click once on the wood planks got it left click and then bring it up to the 2×2 and now this is some technical stuff

Right click and hold and draw around the 2×2 and there you go let go and then shift and click that boom there you go so you got a workbench what yeah let’s craft the table now you can make other stuff that’s we use to make everything in the game pretty much

Except for potions and enchantments things like that but for now you’re good so escape out of there because in the meantime what’s happening is that day is going by and uh you might get into trouble if you’re still out here at night so you’re gonna want to make uh let’s say a

Pickaxe and a sword so go over to the eighth slot in your inventory you can scroll over or if you wanna another tip is if you get used to using the keys up here and you start arranging your inventory in a consistent fashion yeah every time that you play the game you

Can get used to oh i need to get to my sword really quickly i need to get you to my pickaxe really quickly and you just hotkey it now there are also mice like the one that i use that have a number pad on the thumb and so you can just

Quick snap with your thumb without having to take your finger off the keyboard so that’s helpful so place down the crafting table with a right click actually there you go and then you’re going to right click on it again and then you’re going to turn your

Planks into six by doing the right click thing again that i showed you are you gonna start in one of oh you went one too far yeah and then shift oh yeah that works too okay and now you’re going to take that right click at the bottom

Bottom middle you get to get those planks we’re doing it get those get those other planks that are down in the bottom right hand corner right up above the stick yes one right there and then yep yep yep and now you’ve got a sword

Okay this is this is a pro tip that i don’t even use myself because i’m so not used to it but if you click on those things in there it’ll automatically put the resources in your inventory that you need to have see the the pickaxe over

There this one yeah click on it it’s going to automatically fill it in then you can just grab it out of there makes your life a lot lot quicker and easier oh so it automatically makes it for you that wasn’t the case up until the current version and now we’re gonna

We’re gonna dig into a cliff so uh you have the sword though right as well yep then grab it and then put it in slot number one there you go all right so dig just dig into the cliff with your fist until you hit stone because your fists or pickaxe is not the

Right tool for dirt so you can just do one by one you don’t have to do it a two wide thing just do it one deep okay so you got stone now you’re gonna switch to your pickaxe so either hit two or scroll to it there you go and ideally just

Mine down a little bit because what you need to do is you need to find resources like coal and whatnot and your best chances to mine down but you’re violating the number one rule of minecraft which is never dig straight down oh no are we stuck now

You’re not stuck no you can build back up but if you dig straight down there’s a chance that you can fall do you want to keep digging down you just want to do it like a staircase fashion you don’t need to you’ll need to do that but

That’s fine you didn’t die yet okay keep going back down so the reason why you don’t want to dig straight down is because you can fall into an open cavern fall straight into lava lose all your stuff a whole host of issues that can take place fall into a

Place where there are lots of monsters they’ll attack and kill you interesting and so if you die do you restart from the beginning then you know just keep on digging keep on digging down in a staircase fashion um you will start at your spawn point which can

Either be at the very beginning of the game where you spawned in or it’ll be where you sleep in a bed once you’ve found a bed uh so right now ideally you want to get some torches it’s also about to be nighttime so the issue is that you don’t have anything really and

Monsters are gonna start coming out so it’s not great all right ladies and gentlemen what happened is you don’t want to be like dalton you do not want to get caught out when it’s nighttime so we just we dug a little uh two block hole in the ground hid out there

Last of the night and now we’re we’re resuming basically where we last left off so what you want to do is you want to try to see if you can find some surface coal and also some food so head back up to the surface it’ll be easier

In daytime to do this and you’re going to try to find some food and that cliff over there straight ahead that might be a good location to see if you can find some coal at the surface might be helpful also kill some chickens hey that’s food hey little square

Chickens uh why weren’t the sheep food the sheep can be food actually it’s just i i didn’t want you to kill them because i felt badly they haven’t done anything for it to you uh so all right keep killing chickens and could you store as many chickens as

You want like you’re in your your inventory has 36 slots and every slot can stack up to 64 for most items there are some items that do not stack at all like tools weapons certain items only stack to 16 like under pearls and snowballs um but you

Can have up to the 36 slots you’re gonna need to wear the rest you have to store in chests or shulker boxes or whatever you want to store your eyes choker boxes that’s an end game thing so we’re not getting there today sadly but your goal

If you want to set a goal for yourself is to kill the bosses so you have the ender dragon and you have the wither and you have the guardian which is a in an underwater temple there’s soon to be another boss that’s going to spawn i think naturally in rain but that’s not

Implemented yet but your goal if you choose to accept it is to just kill all those but again the game’s sort of open-ended so even after you’ve done that it you keep playing it and do whatever you want set challenges for yourself try to build things i don’t know why you’re

Punching leaves with your sword um okay so with the chickens do you have to like manually command him to eat the chickens eventually or does he eat on his own like automatically when he’s hungry so you need to eat when you’re hungry but raw chicken never a good idea

Gives you salmonella so you need to cook it first it gives you more hunger back each time you do it and um so here if you keep on walking over to that place that uh that that cliff that i was mentioning straight dead ahead and there’s some coal over there so this is

A perfect opportunity for you what am i holding you’re holding sand in your hand it used to be a sword but then you use your sword to break a bunch of leaves oh yeah wait so we’ve lost our sword now right yeah he broke his sword

By with leaves you know those leaves are really tough so if you misuse the tool or if you use it too much just if you break a bunch of blocks with it so you’ve got there’s some sheep over there which you can actually use to get a bed

So just follow that go on over and you can get the coal up there and you can also kill the sheep get some wool and you can use that to make a bed which will allow you to skip night time next time around so if there’s ever if you

Can’t get up you can just build up using blocks so you yeah look down you’re going to want to make another sword if you’re really interested but look down at the ground and then get your dirt out in slot number three and you look down and you jump and you right click

There you go there you go and you just build up to wherever you need to get to is that the great portal that’s the sun that takes you into another dimension though and you need to go up again you just go up do the same thing there you go jump up

And now just kill some sheep okay so switch to your sword and then boom and do it again do it again boom and then do it again so another tip when it comes to pvp in the latest versions of minecraft i think there’s one more sheet next to

What they did in the latest versions of minecraft is that it has a recharge time oh so you see swing your sword see that little thing that fills up across the screen you have to wait for that to fully go away before it’s at full power again got it

All right so it’s going to be night time soon you need to get that coal yeah it is cold so you’re going to mine it with this yep um jordan have you heard of minecraft vr click and hold i have heard of minecraft vr i’ve done i’ve used the rift and i’ve played

Minecraft in it before and i did a dropper map a couple times which is a map where you jump off of a high area and you try to work your way through like a whole bunch of obstacles as you’re falling and i’ve nearly thrown up so really yeah so you’re basically

Manually doing all these things that we’re doing because i mean like you’re actually swinging your hands to like chop no no no i’ve just my head has been in it there’s no there’s no attachment to like actually swing your sword and do pickaxe stuff okay to my knowledge maybe

They have that now with the motion controls but i i don’t think that it they actually have you doing the actual emotions okay um but the problem with me is is if there’s a disconnect between your like lateral movement in the game and you physically in real life

I just i need to throw up you just start getting like motion sickness almost but like with no motion involved pretty much it’s because i have no motion and there’s no yeah yeah that’s a problem okay so we got a couple things we have to do let’s

Mine a little bit more cobblestone so just start mining we’re in a rush now so just use your pickaxe and mine some of the non-black just the regular gray stone yeah you’re just going to get a couple more boom there you go good to go so now go

To your workbench and you’re going to start doing a lot of stuff workbench and then we’re doing a bunch workbench you’re going to right click on that and we’re gonna have to work fast here otherwise you don’t dock it so what you’re gonna do is you’re gonna make a

Bed so you have that wool you have three wool you do so see that tool tool right there yeah so take that actually if you find the bed oh is that right click for oh it’s not letting you do a multi-colored bed so you’re gonna have

To do this manually so put the two white across the the middle and there and then get the gray and put it on the other side of them just the third slot in the middle the gray one is at the fourth slot on your bottom

Put it there and then get the three wood and put it across the bottom below it oh no oh no what in the latest versions they made it so it has to be a uniform color because they have colored beds oh geez it used to be you could use any colors of well

It didn’t matter but i guess they changed it because they have colored beds it has to be uniform color never mind you’re in trouble again oh good okay well we’re gonna make some torches anyway so go ahead and remove all that stuff from the workbench and yeah let’s

Make some sticks do you remember how to make sticks um yes okay let’s go ahead and do that okay there’s that yep grab that out of there and then just take those four sticks and put them in the bottom slot three by three grid and

Then put the coal on top of it put all the coal on okay and then shift and left click on the torches to get them out there you go good stuff now grab the coal out of there okay and now what you’re gonna do is you’re gonna make a furnace as well so

Take those cobblestone and you just do an o yes yep right click and do an o all right there you go and then grab the furnace out of there just like you would anything else oh yeah there you go so now put that in your hot bar because you’re going to

Place it down all right so you are going to want to just don’t travel very i like to hear just a one little slot of rain wait is this oh is it rain or snow rain and snow happening right now nice and cold depending upon the biome yeah

You’re gonna get hypothermia don’t worry that’s not actually a thing okay um this game is realistic so you’re gonna just go back to where you were mining that that cobble and the and the coal and i recommend just sealing yourself in there for a moment because that way you don’t like get killed

So just dig a little bit more or actually use some of that but not your nine of the next thing and just kind of seal yourself in so place some blocks down this is so no one could see us yeah now okay put a torch down right click with it

Cool all right now just mine a little cavern the opposite direction where you place the blocks and what are we looking for now you’re not really looking for anything right now we’re just establishing a little bit of a home base is all so that you don’t get killed at

Night time and we’re also going to cook some food which even though you haven’t lost any food yet um it’s just yeah yeah yeah you got it on you because it’s important and what indicates when you have to eat uh see those little chicken wings over there

That’s when they go down you need to eat to replenish so all right you’re digging a little cavern here so let’s place down the furnace this isn’t the coziest thing ever but you know it’ll it’ll do you just fine you could technically just survive in a

1×2 little area if you needed to so right click put the furnace down and then right click again shift left click on the chicken over in the bottom right hand corner and then put a piece of coal in the bottom part there you go it’s fine you can leave it

There it’ll only use what’s necessary so now escape and that’s gonna run in the meantime and it’s just you know you’re going to end up with cooked chicken at the end of it and you can replenish your hunger so if you just like for example jump a whole bunch right

Eventually your food’s going to start going down so the more activities you do the more blocks that you mine out the more the farther you go the more that you know you’re gonna have your food go down okay do you eventually start fighting other people in the world

You know other people it’s only monsters people are in servers um so it’s not like you it’s not a a two-person game or like a multi-person game where you start like interacting with each other’s worlds and like versing each other no you have to set

That up on a server but in this on its own it’s just one person but you can open up a lan server where other people who are on your local network they can just join in it’ll show up on their client and they can hop in with you

So that one you’d kind of build a bigger world together or would you like verse each other trying to like whatever you want to do battle that’s part of like what the game is it’s very open-ended so like whatever you want to do you can try

To figure out a way to do it there’s no you have to do such and such oh i like that yeah all righty well it looks like we’ve built ourselves a small little home if you could call it that yeah yes somewhere at the most basic of

Terms pretty much okay good well we’re gonna stop here because this game technically could go on forever yeah people have been playing non-stop for the past i don’t know like seven years so it can last for a while yeah we don’t have that sort of time but we’re gonna
