Hey there my name is Saba leaky and today we’re going to be doing the first episode in some redstone tutorials now for future reference if anything changes in Minecraft this is version 1.1 of the full release so in case anything sniffing in the future and whatnot that Covers that base now basics of ro so the first thing you’ll need to know is any redstone torch that you place is going to be on by default this redstone torches are pretty much like the battery pack of a circuit that suppose you could say they are the main power source that You will be using in most cases so when it’s on it will power any redstone connected to it in in this way so in all four directions away from the torch and it also powers the a block that is placed above it what do I mean by powers A block above it so as you see when you place redstone by default it is actually turned off there’s no power running through it but if you place a redstone torch underneath a floating block above it it will power on so this block here is receiving a redstone signal meaning That any razón connected to that block will be powered on as well so this means as well as projecting power all in for all four directions below here if we decide to for whatever reason to cover up our resident touch like this it will actually power all these blocks here as Well now keep in mind that will only work if there is a block above as soon as I remove that block it will not power those four that’s because this block is receiving power from the redstone torch below it and is transmitting to each of the pieces of redstone around it now Don’t worry if it sounds a bit too daunting for now because well as we move through these tutorials more will be explained about different ways to do things and all that sort of stuff but first things first we are going to do a simple on and off with our redstone Torch so we need to turn off this redstone torch for whatever reason maybe we were using it as an indicator for maybe maybe the door is being left open and as an indicator for that or something I don’t anything like that so we want to that’s probably a bad example Actually that that would be a stupid idea but anyways that’s regardless so we want to turn this torch off the way we do it is it’s quite odd in relation to real life that is than everything in Minecraft kind of odd because if we connect written like this We know that it powers on there and that’s no good there’s no what we want because if it’s powered on you can’t turn it off unless you remove all the power sources so even though this lever is off if I turn it on it’s something to make any difference because it’s already On so we have to remove every single power source for the restaurant to turn off and basically what that means is we can’t turn it off by directly linking redstone to the torch we have to link it through this block here because redstone has a weird property where it turns off When you send power to it so as soon as we send a signal to it through the restaurant through this block here up to the torch it will turn off which is quite odd but that’s how it works so knowing that fact we can now make a Switch just to turn the light on and off quite easily let’s put a lever down here and we can flick it on and off like that and now we are simple switch and we can also put pressure plates down like this simple right so that that’s that’s the Absolute basics of redstone right there I’ll leave it there I’m going to crank it these these videos short just because maybe you’re looking for a specific thing in a specific area of redstone so this is absolute basics introduction on and off redstone and also it’s going nighttime now so it’s really good to Home to end this video and thanks for watching Video Information
