Hey guys welcome back to another episode of my simple redstone series and today we are looking at flush piston doors so i’ve shown you how to make a really cool piston door but let’s have a look at uh flush piston door now what do i mean by flush well Let me show you so this is the wall we’re going to be building on well actually i’m not going to build on this one i’m going to build another wall but this is what i mean by a flush piston door so you can’t see the door but it is there It’s so satisfying i love this so much uh so what we’re gonna do is we’re gonna show you how to make that it’s really simple let me show you the redstone as always now the most simple bit if i show you this side first this is the simple bit it’s Really quick and simple to make this part of the uh the door so this is the part that pushes everything over and then other than that you’ve just got the bit to push it forward which is this bit at the top again really simple and I think a lot of you will agree the redstone seems terrifying but when you actually do it it’s actually a lot easier so let’s take a quick look at what we’re going to be doing today and i’ll put a thing on the page now which will show you exactly What you’re going to need for this but it is really simple so all you’re going to need is some sticky pistons and some redstone some torches and some redstone repeaters and i think that’s basically it you can also add in some pink wool if you want to look like pro Or blue wool if you really like blue wall but i like using the pink wall so we’re going to use that and obviously you’ll need some blocks of choice so let’s go for calcite for our magical blocks so what we’re going to do is build ourselves the um Flush piston door now it’s a two by two two piston door and we’re gonna build it opposite that one over there so what we’re gonna do first of all is place our four pistons now remember if you’re placing your piston and it’s facing upwards it’s because you’re too Close to the block you’re trying to place it on so that one will place there but if you place it over there it will face the other direction uh and then what we’re going to do is do the opposite on this side now it is much easier to place your four pistons before You place these two now what we’re going to do is put in our block of choice i’m using calcite as nice as that is and then what we’re going to do is put two what i call redstone blocks but wool on these ones here now after that we’re Going to put torches on both and that makes our bottom shelf come out and then what we do is we just put some more blocks on the top here and it will make the top come out which is great we’ve now made a piston door that is really wide for no reason Or have we we can now make this flush so what we’re going to do is we’re going to make it so this comes and fills this gap okay so what we’re going to do is we’re going to put repeaters on here and i’m going to use three ticks On these now you might have to fiddle with the redstone um repeaters and what what level of tick you are on there because i’m actually gonna put a repeater here but you might not need one it depends where you put your switch so what we’re going to do Is put one there as well because it makes life easier but it will mean if you have to have it at a repeater here you need these on three ticks if you don’t because the redstone goes far enough you will only need two ticks on these i’ll show you so what We’re going to do now is put some blocks on here and we’re going to make a shape like this so you’ve got one on each top of those pistons and then an l shape behind and then on here we’re gonna put a torch with some redstone and that will make it Come out into the wall now from there you just need to bring the redstone into that block and then down so we’re gonna do that like so and then into our repeater and that’s basically all your redstone done it’s really that easy now all we’re going to do Is draw a circuit now when i was saying before it depends where you’re going to put your uh switch so i’m going to actually put my switch just here now what i’ve done over there and what i’ll show you in a minute is you can put all This underground so you don’t need to have it out on the surface um but chances are if you’re doing this the similar way to what i’ve done you might need to have that repeater in over here if your switch is too far away and if you do then these just need to go Onto three ticks because it basically what’s happening is this is making this circuit go one tick later and this circuit needs to be two ticks after that circuit so these need to be on three if that’s on one sense right maybe with dave when you need him you’re over there dave He’s happy but yeah now when you press your switch your piston door will open and close easy as that it’s a really simple circuit it’s really simple i know what you’re thinking you probably want to make this wall longer so what we’re going to do is actually we’ll Leave our lever there for now and now what we’re going to do is actually place this going underground so i’m going to put that there and then down there and then what we’re going to do is run it along here now it depends on what your wall looks like that you’re Trying to hide this in but that’s it that’s how a flush piston door works and the beauty of them is you can take that and you bring it back plop it down so people have to know where to put the switch in order to open the door it’s a Bit like your crafting table again um now this one i’ve done even better because what i’ve done is the redstone drops down behind the walls and that one dropped down under the wall which meant that i could have this block here so it’s impossible to see but if you do that it’s It’s possible you’ll need a um repeater but yeah that’s as easy as it comes cool right more piston doors what more could you want uh flush piston doors are incredibly simple as i’ve shown i don’t want people to think that redstone isn’t for everyone because it really is And this is how easy it is it is barely any redstone at all in that in fact we probably had more in our flying machines this is really easy to do and everyone could do it so i really i urge you to make a little redstone world go And have a go i might even make my redstone world available so you can download and play on here and maybe once we’ve got a few more constructions on i’ll add it to the videos as well but uh i hope you enjoyed check us out next time and we’ll be doing more redstone Antics and as always if you’ve enjoyed the video please leave me a big fat thumbs up and please consider subscribing and thanks so much let me know in the comments if you have anything you want me to In this Minecraft 1.18 Redstone Tutorial I show you how to make a 2×2 Flush piston door. This is the latest in my series of Simple Redstone Tutorials to help beginners do things with redstone. This Minecraft 2×2 Flush Piston Door. can also be known as a Jeb Door.
This Simple Minecraft 2×2 Flush Piston Door 1.19 is tested in the latest Minecraft 1.19 update.
For this you will need: 4 Repeaters (maybe 1 extra as well) *some* Redstone 12 Sticky Pistons 1 Lever 5 Redstone Torches Pink wool (to look pro) Blocks of choice
Piston doors are my absolute favourite thing to do in Minecraft. I love making them, I love designing them. That is why this Flush 2×2 Piston door is one of my favourites to build in my worlds.
As I always like making hidden things in Minecraft this can be used to hide your base away, no one will know it’s there!!
I like to make a simple Minecraft redstone tutorial that is easy to follow and works in the latest update. For more complicated designs and weird and wonderful things I recommend you check out @ThatMumboJumbo and his channel full of cool redstone things.
