Minecraft java edition 1.16 comes with several new features that can make creating a new world with game rules custom biome settings and data packs super simple before you even generate the first chunks this is a great way to make sure that your world is set up exactly the way that you want Without having to remember to change all the settings or add new data packs after the fact my name is stifler and welcome to another minecraft java server tutorial from shockbyte hosting today we’re going to look at three brand new features added to minecraft that make creating a new world Easier than ever here are the time stamps for you to jump ahead and look at the new data pack manager world generation settings and game rule manager all of these steps are done on your local computer when you generate a new world and then you upload that Custom world to your server using an ftp client or our file manager if you aren’t sure how to do that click the i in the corner of this video for our tutorial to get to all of these new features launch minecraft 1.16 or later and head to single player you’re going To create a brand new world so click that after you’re done changing the settings which we’ll go over in just a moment you’ll save the world and log into it from there you can use our tutorial we mentioned before to upload that custom world to your server With all of the changes and data packs you’ve added make sure you give your world an easy to remember name so that you can keep track of it later possibly the most important new feature for a majority of servers is being able to see all available game rules that are Available for you to change and editing them from the start on the create new world page in the bottom left corner you’ll see a new button for game rules click that to bring up the full list of game rules available for you to edit as of recording of this video There are 33 the great thing about this list is that you can hover over each game rule to see a short description of what they do disable drowning damage increase the random tick speed make players respawn instantly when they die and more right from this page once you’ve looked Over the list and changed everything that you want click done in the bottom left corner adding new data packs to your world is also much easier in this version of minecraft on the create new world view look on the right side for a data packs button And click it you’ll see two columns on the left you’ll see available which is probably empty and on the right selected with the default data pack displayed download your data packs from trustworthy places online and straight from the original developer just to be safe once you have them Downloaded to your computer you can drag and drop the files directly onto the minecraft game window you’ll be asked if you want to add the data pack to the world click yes after a moment the view will reload and you’ll see on the left column that the data pack is available for you To select hover over the data pack and click the arrow that points to the right now the game will ask if you want to load that data pack and give you a small warning click yes once you’re done adding all the packs that you want click the done button in the bottom right Corner with 1.16 and beyond there are new world generation settings that allow us to create unique worlds easier and faster than ever before mojang has also said that this feature will get more updates in the future which will allow server owners to change their world even more without fancy plugins or custom Development on the create new world view on the right side click more world options then once again on the right side you’ll see world type default if you click this button it will change first to superflat which you can customize like in previous versions then to large biomes amplified and Finally you’ll get to the new options of single biome caves and floating islands single biome attempts to replicate the normal overworld with just a single biome throughout the entire dimension while caves replicate some nether generation features with no sky and a bedrock ceiling and floating islands replicates the end dimension generation Since this is the nether update let’s use caves for our example in this video after cycling through that button on the right side to see caves click on the new customize button that appears below it you should now see a list of all of the major biomes in the Game found in the overworld end and nether you can select any one that you want but we’re going to create a huge cave system that uses the blocks of the mesa or badlands so we’ll click badlands once you’ve selected the biome you want click done in the bottom left corner Then you can click create new world and you’ll be automatically spawned into your new custom world you will now have a world full of caves and structures that are normally found in the biome you selected in our new badlands world we have abandoned mine shafts and pools of Water in a basalt delta’s world you have huge open caverns lava pools and nether fortresses this could make for an incredibly challenging world for you and your friends to survive through now that you’ve edited your game rules change the world generation settings and installed a few data packs You’re ready to create the world and upload it to your server click create new world if you haven’t already and wait for the game to spawn you into the world then exit that world and upload it to your server by following the tutorial we’ve linked in the description all of The changes you made will be transferred along with your world files so that when you restart your server and join you’ll have everything set up exactly how you want that’s it you now have a custom world generated with these three new features ready for you and your players to enjoy If you run into any problems or have questions feel free to reach out to us at
