Person standing wins it was the original Battle Royale game like many others at the time I was obsessed with survival games and I played it all the time on the Pocket Edition of Minecraft on the former biggest server Lifeboat Survival Games was so massive on there that like

Obliterated the record for most players on a Minecraft server at over 37,000 this may not seem like much now with high pixel getting that daily but it was a massive deal at the time other servers with survival games like mlex and MCSG were also pulling in thousands

Of players and YouTubers who played on these servers were getting millions of views Survival Games was dominating the market and nothing even came close but as time went on and other games started coming out survival games would see a sharp decline in players and just a few

Years after its peak it would be removed from lifebo and servers like MCSG and mplex both shut down due to a lack of players servers that do still have the game mode give it no support and it receives zero updates today the mode is dead and it’s considered just a memory

Of better times Survival Games was mine and many others favorite game mode and scene where it ended up hurts a lot I often ask myself the questions how could something so big and beloved Die Why did myself and many others just stopped playing it one day even though we loved

It so much today I hope to answer these questions and explore the death of my favorite game the first Survival Games map was made by team veride in early April of 2012 making it over 11 years old it was based off of what you would see in the wildly popular Hunger Games

Movie that had just come out at the time by today standards the map is nothing special but back then it was super impressive and gamechanging with how big it was and all the little details it wasn’t ran by plugins or commands but by Redstone where a game master would pull

A lever to start the game there’d be some chest at the middle of the map and a lot more sprinkled around the place you couldn’t mine or place any blocks so you had to survive off of just what you could find the first round of survival

Venom’s perspective blew my mind I became obsessed and watched every bit of content I possibly could on YouTube and I would always beg my parents to buy me Minecraft just so I could play it a server that would pop up following the success of the event was the previously

Mentioned MCSG which stood for Minecraft Survival Games MCSG pretty much made survival games into what we know it today it created the tier system with the chest where some mainly the ones in the middle would be filled with better loot than the ones scattered around the

Map they also made it so all chest would refill after some time had passed another thing the server had was the death match where once too much time passed without the Game ending everyone would be teleported to the center of the map where all of the exits would be

Closed off and they would fight until there was only one player remaining eventually I ended up buying in my own tablet with Christmas money I saved up and when I got home from the store I immediately got Minecraft on it I remember searching up Minecraft Pocket Edition Hunger gam servers on YouTube

That day and all of the results were about a server called lbsg or life boo survival games I played it nonstop all day every day I also got quite good at it I was consistently winning and always trying to get number one on the daily leaderboards that Lifeboat had at the

Time I remember those days as being the peak of Minecraft for me I was in love with the game and I couldn’t get enough of it if I wasn’t playing Minecraft survival games then I was watching Minecraft survival games when Christmas break ended all I talked about with my

Interest for survival games really started to fade when Lifeboat removed their mode I love the Hy survival games and I’ll always have the opinion that it’s arguably the best version of survival games but it’s not quite what I grew up on the only classic map it has

Is SG4 the loot pool and mechanics are vastly different all the secret rooms and traps are gone the lack of a classic SG for players to go back to is probably what stopping myself and many other older players I’m really putting a lot of time and effort into it again

Minecraft Min games as a whole have also just seen a massive downturn in players grindy games like Sky Block or just regular survival are far more popular now and that’s what the current generation of Minecraft players are gravitating towards and the mini games that do still get players like bedw Wars

Are just leagues above SG in terms of things you can do game design and just much better pacing SG is a very old and outdated game everyone who played it before has all grown up in the 10 years since its peak I’m going to be 19 in less than a

Month now I’ve gone through the entirety of elementary middle and high school it makes sense that the novelty of the game would have worn off in that time it’s my favorite game because it’s what I grew up on and thus had the most fun with something like bedw Wars will never have

The same hold on me because even if it is a better game I will never be a child discovering something for the first time again despite everything I just said not all hope for survival games is gone like I mentioned earlier the hes Bedrock server is still around and their SG game

Mode gets around 300 players concurrently every day it’s not quite like the old school survival games but it’s still really close and the incredible Maps combined with smooth gameplay make it a very good server if you just want to play a few rounds of SG in 2023 cubecraft Bedrock server also

Has an game mode and it’s a little more modernized than the hives it has much smaller maps and a shrinking border making games more competitive and intense plus it has some awesome mechanics that you won’t find anywhere else definitely a good second pick I really want you guys to help support SG

On these servers to ensure that they actually stick around for a long time and don’t meet The Chopping Block like so many other servers every day it makes me sad to see the decline of survival games but it was always B to happen time doesn’t stop for anyone or anything the
