I know that we’re starting outside the dungeon but that’s just for the sake of brightness. [laughs] We’re heading straight over to the the dingy dark dungeon of Decked Out because I’ve got quite a lot to do. I don’t think I actually am going to put any Of my phase 2 runs in this episode, I’m gonna skip straight to phase 3 and I’ve got ten shards but I’m not gonna be doing some running. The reason is quite simple: I suck. [laughs] I’m really bad at Decked Out and my phase 2 runs didn’t go particularly well. And this has led me to not only get ten shards for me to use which I need to make a start on but if I’m gonna stand any chance of getting anything going forward, I need to practice more and practicing in Decked Out can be both infuriating and wasteful. So we’re going upstairs to the waiting room because I have been delivered a present. A present from the creator himself: meet- Ow! Meet Jellie. Jellie is our ra- there you go. Ha ha! You can’t get me! Jellie is our ravager and Jellie here – Euh! – is a mean old brute That is going to help us get better at Decked Out. No longer will we have skill issues in this game. Stop it Jellie! We are going to make ourselves a little practice area and other Hermits that are suffering may also use it. That basically means no Ethos. No Ethos, Hypnos Or any other pros beyond this point because we are going to be creating a specific skill issue training ground. And I spent the time before this episode getting together a whole bunch of white concrete and we’re going to make something that maybe resembles kind of like a Portal training room? I want it to look like kind of very clinical and pristine and it’s very clearly a training space. So that’s the plan. That is the plan that we are going to do and we might as well get very, very started on it because this is- I mean making any kind of- This whole meeting room took several of us a long time. We’re gonna have fake rivers of souls, we’re gonna have luring spots, we’re gonna- we’re gonna try our very best to make this a useful spot to learn how to wrangle ravagers and not get pinched so hard. So let’s make a start As I inevitably get bored throughout this project making a big white box, I shall do some Decked Out runs. Let’s go! [MUSIC] Welcome to the Ravager Backrooms. I accidentally, and I mean this, very much accidentally built the Backrooms in Minecraft. I just went for this like Portal-esque style. It ended up just straight up looking like the Backrooms. I’ve even got Jellie in here, right? Nooo! And it’s pretty good. You can train- I’ve got my armour on right now so I’m in an advantage but Jellie here is being put through her paces. It’s actually really useful To get a good idea of what these ravagers can achieve Come on Fella. And you realise, they’re really not all that scary. It’s when you have- Ahhh! – more than one to deal with that you’ve got a problem. But these Backrooms have been exceptionally good at learning for example this jump. You can see, I’ve recreated roughly the issue points of Decked Out. This jump that’s killed many a person. The river of souls where you’ve got to achieve this jump consistently. Hello! [TANGO] Hello, is he- Oh! There he is! [GRIAN] It’s Jellie. [CUB] He’s here. [TANGO] I can’t wait, I can’t wait. [GRIAN] Jellie’s here helping out. Now I’ve got- There’s one room that I need to make because now- This is like level 1 training facility at the moment, I need level 2 training facility and the issue is One Eyed Willy is killing us quite a lot. Almost all the deaths now are because of One Eyed Willy and I need to make a nice old swimming pool in here but it turns out moving trident bros is super difficult. [TANGO] How did you do it Cub? What was your- [CUB] A lot of shield and minecart. [GRIAN] Brute force! [TANGO] Did you send the minecart into the water? [CUB] Yes. [TANGO] Okay yeah, that’s key. [GRIAN] Ahh. [CUB] Yeah, that’s the key. [TANGO] But then when he comes out, he doesn’t take damage once he’s out the water right? [CUB] Right. [GRIAN] If it’s night. [GRIAN] If it’s daytime he would burn. [CUB] Yeah, if it’s daytime he burns. [TANGO] Or make a little roof above the track. [GRIAN] Well the good news is that I’ve got three trident bros renamed out the back of Decked Out ready to move in so… I’ve just got to quickly build a swimming pool and then Cub? Bro? You wanna help me? [TANGO] Are they already minecarted? [CUB] I can try. I can try. [GRIAN] [laughs] They’re definitely not minecarted. Right, where shall I put this? Euh! Jellie no! Jellie, bad Jellie! Bad Jellie! Bad Jellie. Why did I put you in here? [TANGO] I love it. [GRIAN] Euh! [TANGO] Woop! [laughs] [GRIAN] Oh no. [TANGO] Oh the river of souls claims another! [laughs] [GRIAN] Euh! He’s after you! Ha ha! [CUB] Oh wow! [GRIAN] Dungeon lackey wins. Alright, so we want this to be at least three tall. We don’t need anything crazy to be honest with you. It just needs to be a box room Where you can learn how to dodge drowneds. It’s as simple as that. It doesn’t need to be complicated but it does need to simulate at least the layout of the back pond where One Eyed Willy lives. He’s brutal. He is brutal. Trident drowneds are one of the strongest mobs in the game. They’re just so accurate and so difficult to dodge in the water. It takes some practice and I’m pretty sure this will be a whole lot of help. And I’m out of concrete. I’ve used an awful lot of my concrete stock to get this far But hey look, this is the swimming pool right here. It’s got to be quite a big space to at least simulate the distances that Willy has. It may even need to be a bit bigger to be honest. And then we’re gonna put a mock ship in here So that we’ve got something to kite around and then we should be able to get a good idea of how to deal with these drowneds. Okay, I’m all topped up on more white concrete and I’ve got the swimming pool. [laughs] It looks so terrifying. The combination of white concrete and the pearlescent froglight, It looks- It’s just- Why is it so unnerving? Anyway, this is the easy part. Making this room is definitely the easy part, moving our new friend One Eyed William into the training area, that’s gonna be the tough bit. I also went ahead And thought of a very smart way to fill up this swimming pool. And it’s just ice. This is by far the easiest way to do this. If you’re ever dealing with water, don’t forget about ice. It’s so useful. Look at that! It’s already being melted into the swimming pool. Okay, we’re nearly there? I should be able to just melt this by adding torches on top. Okay and then all we need to do, put a roof on this and we’ve got ourselves a good old training ground. A little bit of clear up and we’ve got ourselves the freakiest looking swimming pool ever built in Minecraft. Welcome to the true Decked Out Backrooms. Oh my goodness. Now all we’ve got to do is get a trident drowned in here. Now that’s not easy. Not easy at all. I’m going to need probably some assistance, a lot of luck and we’ll see. I need to just test That Jellie can’t follow me into there. So come along Jellie! Over here! Come on. Who’s a good girl? Who’s a good girl? Come on. Come on! So she should be able to go under. Oh she avoids that. Woo! Now if we go down and I go here. I can’t get in but you can just quickly crouch in. Jellie? What is going on down there? That’s a lot of activity! Jellie? Nooo Jellie! Yeah. Jellie can’t follow me at all. She gets very confused. Yeah, okay so that’s safe. Now we just need to work on getting a drowned here. Alright, so since I’m getting the drowned all the way into Decked Out, I have cut across the map and there’s people running right now so I’m gonna use this opportunity [laughs] to get a couple more subscribers! So it’s gonna just say “Sub” “To” “G”. I think that will get it across. “Sub to G”. [laughs] The only people that are gonna see this [laughs] are the people in Decked Out. I’m not gonna do it too big because I got to tidy this up as soon as the drowneds are through. I also just bet 100 diamonds that Gem would make it out of Decked Out On her latest run, and I lost so now I’m also broke. So, if you’re feeling sorry for me, [laughs] you can subscribe. Okay, now that- Now that I’ve utilised this opportunity to gain at least one more subscriber I shall work on trying to get that connected to here and then I mean, this is the easy bit. Making these is a bit tedious. Minecraft doesn’t really have great methods of getting mobs from one place to another. Unfortunately particularly aggressive mobs. You’ve either got to use a boat or a minecart. Yeah, you often need to do this which is pretty tedious But this isn’t the hard bit, it’s just a bit laborious. The hard bit is going in there where I’ve renamed three trident drowneds and trying to get them into a minecart. All so I can practice Decked Out and trust me, I need it! Here’s some highlights from phase 3 Where things didn’t, as you might expect, go particularly well. He’s right there. Ooh! Gonna get vexed. Nice. [gasps] Lava! Dodge. Ow! [gasps] We can make it. I’m not mad, just disappointed. [gasps] Where’s Willy? Nooo! Okay, I’ve got a great idea. The sub to Grian has not worked. No one sub- I checked. Checked the channel. No one subscribed. But! I have got a great idea on how to get some help. I’m gonna appeal to people inside the dungeon. So as long as someone looks at the map. Oh I just put send. Send what? I haven’t done “help”! I’ve put my desperate plea for help So I can get some trident guys down here. Now all I got to do is get this all connected up. No one’s coming to help me. I’ve been left on read. They were all here. Where are they? Hello? drowneds? There’s- They should in theory be here because they were renamed. They wouldn’t have despawned. Aha! Oh no, you just got a fishing rod. Where could they have gone? Oh help has arrived! [TANGO] How’s it going? [GRIAN] I can’t find them. [GRIAN] They were here. [TANGO] Oh no! [GRIAN] There’s three of them. [CUB] You lost them? [GRIAN] I didn’t lose them! I just can’t find them! [TANGO laughs] [JOE] Did you name tag them first? [GRIAN] They’re all nametagged. And there’s three of them which makes it even more confusing. [GRIAN] Yeah they’re gone. [CUB] They got to be around here somewhere. [GRIAN] I mean, I renamed them. They simply got out of the water and burned I reckon. [CUB] Yeah I don’t know. [GRIAN] Ah I really wanted that baby trident guy because I was gonna call him “Little William”. [CUB chuckles] [GRIAN] Okay so Cub said we need to do this and draw them in. I have not great confidence. We’ve basically lost all three of the ones that were renamed here. So… We’ve got to wait for some more to spawn. After quite a cons- Ow! Oh oh. After quite a considerable amount of time I’ve got one. Getting it to get inside that minecart is proving near impossible. That’s why we need to use the shield. Noo! No! Noo! Noo! Eh. I need to get this guy out. Yes! Come closer! Noo! Noooo! He’s in! He’s in! Oooo! Okay. You can’t see it very well but he’s going round. That’s what we need. This is so rottenly difficult. Okay. It needs to be not day. Is the next thing. It needs to be done at night because as soon as he gets out he’s gonna start burning. So we’re gonna check every block. Go all the way down. Since he’s in there we can get rid of our graffiti to the thing. He’s trying really hard to get me. I think we might be safe. Yeap we’re safe. Now we’ve got a very difficult task ahead of us. Let’s see if we can do this. We get in. We place that. I’ve got to push this guy. Oh oh! Is he up? Go go go go go! Come on, it must work in the water. It’s- [laughs] It’s so painful! [laughs] Why is it so slow? It’s going! It is going! Just really slowly. Alright, there it goes. Finally we’re out the water, let’s make sure it’s got some juice in it. Is he gonna hit me the whole way? I’m so shocked I didn’t die there. Now you don’t see this every day. He’s really going for me! These guys are absolutely relentless. Look at that! It’d be so impressive if they weren’t so annoying. Alright, it’s still going. He’s still trying to get me. He got me mid-air! Stop it! Why has it stopped? Go! There’s a gap on the track. Why is there a gap on the track? There we go! We’re off. I don’t understand how I missed so much track. Please don’t stop. I’ve had enough. I can’t believe I’ve done this. All the way. [sighs] Right that in theory should be it. They should end up right in the swimming pool. Or just about. Go on! Off you pop. Oo! Come on! You know what? I’m not gonna mess around. In you go! Oh they- Ow! That was one of the worst things I’ve ever had to do on this game. I enjoyed very little of it. If I’m honest. I enjoyed very, very little of that. Tridents are the worst. You- You are the worst! And that shall be your name! I was gonna name you “Little William”. But I think Your name has been chosen for you. But first things first, I got to tidy up my mess because anyone watching Decked Out will see a giant dirt line. And again, this is kinda part of the the not so fun part of moving mobs. Ooo! This is far more satisfying Than any movement of drowneds. There we go! All cleaned up! We’re gonna rename him to “The Worst!”. There we go! The Worst is free! The training ground is complete. You suck! Not you Jellie, you’re the best. So if we go to the back of the Backrooms over here, we can go and meet The Worst. Where- Where is he? Don’t tell me he’s gone. Oh! I’ve never been so happy to see a trident drowned before. Right now we practice. You just got to serpentine. All the time. Okay so how close can you get before- Yeah, it’s about that close. This is the kind of practice we’re after. We know that you can’t get too close to the drowned and you got to dodge and weave. But there’s one- Euh!! [laughs] It’s really scary! He’s giving me a haircut! Oh oh oh! You got to make sure you don’t drown On the way through the dodge. Can you dodge on the surface? I assume so because it’s pretty much the same. So we need this guy to aggro all the way around here because this bit’s the challenging bit. If this is your boat here you’ve got to be able to not only dodge it But get up onto here before he hits you again. Woo! He’s there. So dodging, weaving, dodging. But look, if I go up here he’s still gonna throw at me. Yeap! You see that? He throws- Euh! Eh! You’ve got- You’ve almost got to de-aggro him completely And you can’t do that if you’re in the water. Euh! You see? He’s still throwing at me. I’m learning an awful lot about drowned mechanics. So look at this, you can outrun the drowned all the time, you just got to bounce bounce and run. If I walk, he’s gonna hit me. But look at that! He’s not de-aggroing from me. Maybe it’s night time. Maybe if I drop here. Yeah okay, he’s given up now. So you’ve got to de-aggro him for him to stop throwing tridents at you. Even if you get out the water, he’s still very, very angry. This has been totally worth it. I’m learning so much about this mechanic. Normally I’ve just had to deal with these you know, just in the wild. Yeah see? That’s- That’s the bit that I’m not quite sure how you overcome because you’ve got to, in the game, in Decked Out, You’ve got to be able- Woah! Jellie! Oh! Through the wall?! So in the actual thing you’ve got to be able to dive in, get out and jump up here and if he hits you on the way, you’re dead. So you see that? Yeah? He’s still going for me. That’s the mistake. If you stay in the water, he will just keep going for you. Euh! I reckon that this place here is going to be a really useful thing. Even if you just become- Even if this just becomes- Ugh.. Muscle memory. Learning to just bounce over here, do this jump perfectly every single time. Euh! You suck Jellie. You got to be able to wrangle these ravagers and the key thing is to not end up in a situation where you’re forced to jump over it. So- [laughs] Why don’t we take the shortcut back to my gear which won’t open and now that I’ve done it, I’m ready For Decked Out. Phase 4 is about to begin but that is the end of this video. Thank you very much for watching and I’m very aware that the episodes have been Decked Out heavy lately. That’s for a very good reason, I’m loving Decked Out at the moment and that’s about it! You know, Hermitcraft is Hermitcraft and storylines and minigames sometimes dominate the scene. And I can’t think of a game more deserving of our time and support than Decked Out. Tango spent over a year making this thing. It’s so fun. Most of the time. And I’m having a great time. So I’ll see you in the next video and hopefully we’ll do a 50/50. Good-bye! Also Life series is coming soon. You didn’t- You didn’t hear it from me. Video Information
