Shocking winner of Mob Vote in Minecraft Live 2023: ProGameBot!

Hi this year just like Mojang I’m going to present three mobs for you to vote on the winner will be turned into a data pack which I’ll reveal during my live stream of Minecraft live on October 15th let’s not waste any more time and introduce the first mob drum roll

Please meet the baby dragon oh well this is actually just the dragon egg uh well this is awkward oh it’s hatching ah there you are who’s a good boy the baby dragon is a powerful companion that will Aid you in battle but since there’s only one dragon egg

Only one player can have it ah what’s this pot doing here oh wait this is a sprouting pot if I just plant the special seed in it and wait for a bit it will grow up into a sprout not only are these guys adorable but every so often

They’ll produce a special fruit that has some beneficial effects ah and last but certainly not least we have a prismarine Golem these Derpy little guys will spit out large bubbles that you can catch that will help you breathe underwater oh man I love all three of

Okay here we go can everybody hear me all right and everything is everything’s seeming fine with the stream I don’t do a lot of streaming so um ironically this is looking very 1.20 for a day about 1.21 but let’s start well let’s start with the dragon egg so here’s the deal

We’re going to get a little technical on this end because this is kind of useful information for those who might want to use this pack there is now two types of the dragon egg with this uh there is the type that you get you know through creative uh or when the dragon is

Defeated and it spawns and it’s just your standard dragon egg um while you are in the end Dimension though if you were to take a torch again this will not work here in the over world but if you were to take a torch or whatever collect it as you

Normally would when you want to get the dragon egg instead of dropping the standard dragon egg it would drop the special dragon egg I stand corrected for some reason it’s actually doing it in the Overworld too not a big deal um I don’t know why but hey that’s probably better actually

Anyways custom dragon egg you place it and 15 minutes later it will have into a baby dragon or if you were to place it on specifically a Perle block not any of these other types of Perle the purper block like this one you put that under

The dragon egg cuts the time in half now we’re not going to sit here and wait even seven minutes so we’re going to do execute pretty sure that’s correct run scoreboard I think I know it’s a complicated command let’s see there’s there’s easier ways to do what I’m trying to do generally but

For showcase purposes and we wait a few seconds and this egg will hatch into the baby dragon there he is and I tell you what he is just as Derpy as he was in the uh in the little animation I made got some Custom Sounds thank you to Finn and my

Takes a lot of time to do certain stuff so it’s it’s more like project prioritization a that has not allowed me to do that so far but back on to the baby dragon again he’s just as Derpy as he was once he spawns um you the first

Person to right click on him will bond to him and he is now effectively your pet again one dragon egg per world without cheats so there’s only ever one of these dudes so you got to be careful they’re a lot tougher than other pets in the game but there’s only one of them

They’re irreplaceable so do with that information what you will um of course you got your kind of standard sitting sit and stand features if I right click he’s not going anywhere he’s sitting but if I stand and the animation doesn’t change it’s there’s not great visual

Cues there I will say but uh now he’s moving he has like 100 health does five two and a half hearts of damage but can do five hearts of damage during a special attack which I’ll show in just a sec has permanent regen uh and generally just just look at

Him I mean I not love this dude just so so cute I I spent so long making that model uh but again he’s tough he’s real tough maybe the zombie isn’t the best example in retrospect there’s his special attack so he does this leaping fly attack um I

Guess more of a dive bomb and that can deal up to five hearts of damage these dudes are very very tough um I mean let’s just for instance put them up against an evoker took out the evoker now the vex’s are going to attack him they’re not

Aggroed on me so like a wolf he’s not aggroed currently until they hit him but he’s going to he’s going to take down every single one of them very nice aren’t you just the best boy um maybe put a few you know what let’s try two evokers last time I tried two

Evokers didn’t go quite too well but you know you never know today’s a new day hey you paying attention I punched some dudes what hello you’re making you’re making me look bad dude come on dude there mush okay how about now are you sitting is that what’s wrong

Here I walk away you’re not sitting did I make the model yes I made pretty much everything except the sounds see can’t you look that up look what up what did you want me to look up see not going to lie I suck at commands

I mean look yeah I learned most of my data packing through asking people through tutorials um you can look most of it up it’s not easy that’s that’s one of the reasons I want to make tutorials is because I try to condense all the information you need into one go kind of

Try wow he’s hit he’s killing him in two hits 100 Health the baby dragon has 100 he doesn’t spawn with 100 Health this is a small little bug is that he doesn’t spawn with his full health so you have to heal him up now mush three hits I I don’t know what I’m

Missing but he is he’s kicking butt ah let’s see let’s get let’s try a few baby dragons you know well okay I didn’t know if you would count on Undead as Undead make sure we have a fully healed up Warden get a few baby dragons out on this playing field

Let’s try four see if that can do it all right kill me player could he beat the keeper I don’t know I haven’t tried him against the keeper I don’t have the the keeper installed on the World unfortunately but that would be that would be an interesting test okay let’s

Do this a little more properly let’s get these guys spawned in make sure they’re up to full health before we do anything and they’re all tamed so we can watch the fights also I should also mention that my data packing optimization skills have gotten significantly better even since

The um ocean overhaul so this pack basically let’s see if I hit F32 that graph down at the bottom on the bottom right that is basically a lag graph um you hit F3 plus 2 to get that the higher that graph is the more laggy it is now data pack mobs like this

They’re just inherently a little bit laggy especially the more of them you have and then these guys are kind of complicated but for the amount of functionality that these guys have uh the way I used to do them they would be significantly more laggy than this so

This this is actually that’s a pretty good result um and it’s more than playable for most people what what’s my render distance video settings okay I’m actually set pretty conservatively still it’s good let’s tame all of these guys and let’s see if they can take down a

Be on land or on water or or whatnot similar to the um the dolphin with dolphin’s Grace I’m wondering if it’s it’d be cool if it’s a new potion effect uh that you get when you’re in a boat and around but it there’s so many ways that they could

Implement it I think it’s a bit too too risky what I would really want crab has a lot of interesting stuff that could be done for like creation like in creators what I would really like is for the penguin to come up and uh like hang

Screen yeah I think my main problem with the the mob vote is kind of all years but this year kind of specifically is that there’s just not enough detail in their explanations to really say if it’s good or bad like how much are we increasing the reach with the the crab

How much are we increasing boat movement how much are we actually adding armor to the dogs like if I would definitely be on team armadillo for sure if I knew that it was going to actually make the Wolves survive more than two fights and yeah so there’s the question of how much

Of the armor it is whether or not there’s different variables to it like different variants you can use whether it’s for aesthetic or if it’s just like there’s uh like different armor for horses there’s different tiers I mean could you technically make diamond horse armor wait was red on live hold on was

Red up here Josh wait was she I think she was hold on let me let me rewind a little where was she I don’t know someone on the jine Discord just said they saw red so I’m looking for it now that’s pretty cool oh I’ll have to Circle back

How much how much reach are we talking like kind of a big determining Factor on that cuz like I I could see it realistically being like 2.5 that might be a bit far maybe two would work but like anything shorter than that and it’s just not

Worthwhile I kind of agree um now just from a pure like mob perspective like ignoring its effects it’s everything thing what what is just the mob that you like the most aesthetically I got to go with the armadillo really I agree penguin I really like the of the crab

The crab has got some very redeeming features I got to go with armadillo though just because it’s got the different texture it’s got just so much different to all the other mobs that are in Minecraft um granted the crab does have some things going for it but I don’t I

Feel I feel like it’s got too many compound pieces to give it that Crab Claw shape and the likewise whereas the armadillo is just a very solid structure my take y’all I’m on the alt account you’re on the Al I’m on the alt account I’m gonna vote

Again I think Revolution yeah I think Penguin on just uh oh that’s what it is I see I see just for appearance now now I will I will say penguin is very interesting I can definitely agree with that the question do I vote for the same

Textures based off of whether it’s iron diamond gold netherite all that stuff uh but of course that’s something that takes a lot more effort and that’s something that’s timec consuming so I don’t expect it to be like something to be just like oh get it done I’m not not

The whole um the spawners being super customizable like those things probably have so much data in them that we can control with timers and and different things like that like if you if you I immediately see the ability to make a data pack that’s like custom spawners that makes

It so that they’re timed makes like a whole bunch of different things like that’s a huge like data pack in it of itself or even like a mod concept uh that now can be done in vanilla it’s probably done with a loot table too and then like it triggers the loot when

The uh the mobs spawn so they probably the mobs that spawns has like MBT tags it’s probably checking for nearby so like yeah what you could feasibly do is set up easily set up a death event for those mobs is if those mobs die and then

An item spawns once that item spawns you can use that as a trigger for a death event mhm there just like so many interesting uses and the the custom crafting is so unique the way they’ve got it so you got to you got to make

Sure the items go in in the right order it feels very minecrafty which is great like it’s it’s better than what some mobs or mods do yeah it’s so n which I love are you guys familiar with nmon yeah are y all familiar he is a member of ccraft like

Have to you have to time which like Hoppers are going to activate at which uh in which sequence right uh because since it’s just a shape and not just filling out the exact where this item needs to go you have to like activate and deactivate hoppers in a correct

Mob reach has been tweaked uh Shield models have been kind of adjusted uh a bunch of little things for the past like year have kind of gone into like tweaking and updating uh combat especially like on server side which was one of the main issues for uh the combat

Update in snapshots that people uh that started like three years ago now I think the experimental comat yeah so if we’re getting to combat updates I want to point out that we may want to try and look out for um some types of new specifically combat oriented uh

Enchants because like for instance what if they had something called like bludgeoning for specifically axes that would do more durability damage to armor for specifically combat oriented situations or maybe it’s a more different kinds of damage based off of the type of weapon you’re using like what if there’s uh something else for

Trident maybe yeah what if we got a shield enchant that made it so it takes more more than one hit to uh disable the shield that would be very could increase the uh the durability of that yeah or the recharge instead the recharge time after it’s disabled a mob

Uh sorry a mob that uses Shields that would be awesome adding type like like a Pillager type that uses Mo or what if they added a new faction new faction crazy you have the pillagers and the villagers and then there’s something like you know there’s
