Hello welcome back to all the mods 9 mine colonies last episode we got a whole bunch done around the colony and it got upgraded massively but this episode we’re going to focus focus on Colony autonomy and what do I mean by that well basically we want to make sure That this colony is autonomous that it can take care of itself while we’re not around now before we get going you can see here I have upgraded the Builder’s Hut to level three this is the second Builder’s Hut that’s level three now both of our Builders are ready to go on Any building we want to upgrade to the third level this is really important going forwards and I really love the way this crane looks as it goes up upon this hill level three I think is when buildings start to look really good so I can’t wait to get some other buildings Around the colony up to level Three boom and there you go in the distance that bad up and running oh and we need to get some more redwoods around the colony as well because they’re a great look right okay so let’s whip out the to-do list and see what we’ve got in Store today so number one we want to set up the restaurant guard towers hiring mine configuration it’s action-packed and it’s 100% Colony this episode so number one what do I mean by set up the restaurant well let’s go over there and I’ll show You here we go swo pooping on in Yeah so basically people come over to the restaurant to get fed but they’re not actually getting fed we got these guys on the roof they’re going crazy and why are they going crazy well let’s find out hi we have a problem the zombies in the Nearby Forest yeah yeah yeah I get it 10 zombies sure but yeah take a look what’s this green why are these Hearts green and that’s because look at these empty lamb shanks she is starving and that’s because we made a big boo boo with our restaurant I totally forgot to give the Restaurant any kind of food so buzar my friend we need to make sure you are ready to rock to make these guys some delicious Dishes so first up these guys need to know what to make and we’re going to start the ball easy with baked potato Now by default all recipes are on and that’s really good news but the problem is nothing here is set as fuel so the chef cannot cook a damn thing now basically You can use anything that burns as fuel including charcoal so what I think we’re going to do is try and get a whole bunch of charcoal so we’ll turn charcoal on over here at the restaurant so now he has something that he can use but we Need to make sure we can get him some charcoal so I’m going to go over to my wood chests over here pop some into the jumbo furnace and make sure I have just Stacks and stacks of charcoal so yeah here we go grab up some Spruce Spruce will do for Sure and let’s pop along here and put it in the jumbo furnace in fact while we’re here we might as well upgrade the jumbo furnace a bit more bada bing bada boom we’ll get that gold out lovely stuff so logs in the top should create us some Charcoal yeah there there we go now the jumbo furnace smelts 26 at a time because we’ve got 25 jumbo furnaces in here but let’s chew up as much cobblestone as we can to make even more so I want to make furnaces please boom and make as many as I can There we go now making furnaces really does chew through the Cobblestone we’ve made what three stacks and now we’re completely out but that’s okay cuz in my dank I believe I’ve got a whole bunch of cobblestone stored in there as well yeah oh my God a thousand whoa whoops that was my Bad but yeah the level two dank incredible for storing Stuff and so yeah to make a jumbo furnace upgrade you need 27 furnaces so we’ll just pop these in here once the charcoal’s made grab a few stacks for now and we’ll come back in a bit there we go yeah yeah so it’s very very important that you go around to all Of your buildings periodically just to make sure they don’t have any problems cuz there’s always things that you’re going to miss oh it’s s queen of potatoes amazing can I get you something 12 emeralds why are you a man though oh well you can be a queen of potatoes bro I ain’t going to hold you back maybe he’s like a drag queen of potatoes now that’s something I want to see on rup Paul here we go s locked and loaded welcome to the Colony now what was I doing that’s right coming over here to drop off some Charcoal now I don’t see a RX block anywhere around the restaurant so I’m not quite sure what it uses for storage I guess maybe the block itself let’s take a look yeah here we go so we can put some charcoal in this block and we’ll put some baked potatoes in here because the Colonists love them but now our restaurant dude will be able to make all kinds of food what’s he making in here oh yeah baked potatoes amazing now just in case there’s a cool recipe that we don’t know of that this guy can make oh excuse me dude I need to thank you very Much we’re going to go over and just grab a whole bunch of food anyway to slot in there cuz we’ve got a whole bunch of carrots now some chilies probably some Tomatoes some wheat for Sure lovely stuff now we don’t have too many colonists so it’ll take him a while to go through all this food there we go he’s fully stocked with food over here and he’s going to use this to his heart’s content to make some beautiful dishes but baked potatoes are good Enough for our colonists at the moment as colonists get higher level they get a bit more demanding and they’re going to want better Foods that’s why you need things like meat and a bakery to make things like cakes and bread cookies all of the higher teer Foods okay well let’s Take a look we’ve set up the restaurant now good to go boom oh looks like we’ve done some research as well great timing so number two guard towers hiring I mentioned last episode that it’s really annoying when a guard dies because you can’t remember which guard Tower he died In and you have to go back to the guard Tower and rehire a dude well we’re going to try and sidestep this episode and thank you very much in the comment section for the dude that mentioned you can do this I know you can do it it just completely slipped my mind basically What we to do is go to all the guard towers and set them to automatic hiring it does mean we have less control over who is a guard but it’s more important that we always have a guy working here at all times and it looks like Sil queen Of potatoes is pretty good with a sword as well so we’re going to go around and set all of these guard towers to automatic now this should automatically hire sill is it going to guess we’ll have to wait and see and manage workers over here boom Automatic good to go now you guys are probably wondering whoa hang on a sec what’s going on over here I don’t remember this guard Tower I don’t remember much of this actually and basically I’ve gone around and started to decorate the coast of our Colony basically I want to put some more Buildings over here this is going to very much be the industrial district and take a look at our to-do list this this is where we’re going to put the Mason and The Sawmill today once we get around to doing that but I also most importantly want to have a big Canal Like a big water inlet that kind of comes into our Colony a little bit over here and I needed these guard towers over here in place to expand the borders because now you can see the borders go out for miles and we’re in a good position there we go that’s all of the Guard Tower set to automatic now you got guys have also mentioned I don’t really have enough guards and you’re you’re pretty right actually I’ve got 1 2 3 4 5 six guard towers so that’s six guards when we have about 20 colonists that’s nowhere near enough if I’m being honest You kind of want to make sure at least half of your dudes are guards because the raids get really really really tough later and I won’t always be around to machine gun people down with my flamethrower oh yeah as fun as it is actually I wonder if I can Flamethrower colonists let’s give it a try on old uh volen scath here oh yep I can I can set him on fire is he going to die no I think he’s going to be okay well he will be if we give him a chili Valeno at least oh can I help you oh no don’t don’t die dude oh my God he’s going to die a oh god well mistakes were made oh no what’s going on now whoa oh I’m being attacked by The Tavern visitors because I guess guess I killed a Dude in fact this is a really bad situation to be in because take a look at this if you accidentally kill one of your dudes your conly get a reputation that it’s a dangerous place and you’re likely to see fewer visitors in future so beware do not do that luckily though This should change overtime and I will get more dudes eventually it’s just a temporary setback so yeah protect your dudes and whatever you do do not kill them okay so to-do list the guard Tower hiring that’s been done now the mines hello mines I haven’t really oh a oh That’s a blocking chain looks cool though I haven’t really come over here and configured the mines basically ever since we built them and consequently selda Spinderella is doing a whole lot of nothing to see you I mean she’s got food she’s healthy she’s happy and it Says she’s working but what is she doing well she’s not doing a whole lot and over open requests it reckons she wants a pickaxe now can she make her own pickaxe what the hell oh my God thought that was like a velociraptor Jesus that’s that’s quite the YN you got on Your s the G oh my God give me a heart attack anyway crafting recipes maybe we could teach uh The Miner how to make her own pickaxe oh no wait I can’t right so some colonists don’t have a full crafting grid they only have a 2X two which means She is not making pickaxes anytime soon but I’m sure the blacksmith is ready to rock let’s check the recipes over here yeah he has the recipe for both iron pickaxe and stone pickaxe so I guess maybe the problem is we don’t have any sticks in the warehouse because While he knows how to make sticks into pickaxes he’ll need the sticks and I don’t think we have anybody on the Colony who’s making sticks not really a problem because we can make sticks by the bucket load look at this boom more sticks than we’ll ever need and toss Them in the uh the warehouse in fact oh yeah this was so needed that no the useless has finally got a use and he’s going to go over and deliver these sticks let’s watch him in action go on no glorious purpose and that’s good news because also this Was probably holding our guy back for making tools for the Builder and for making swords for our guards they’re not exactly oh yeah look at this MSY hard at work now chipping together these tools oh I love it the sound effects the animations this Colony really is living And breathing so there we go the miners now are going to have the tools they need to get to work we’ve only got I believe one Miner But once we configure selda we can repeat that down on the other mine so okay in theory you should be getting your pickaxe soon we’re just waiting for a career could this be the one jewelry butthole no wait you got a quest what’s your quest friend okay oh of course I haven’t built A clipboard yet that’s an amazing shout so colonists will kind of give you quests every now and again that are really helpful in reming you what you’re supposed to be building I’ve got a builder scroll somewhere at least but what we don’t have yet is a Clipboard I mean we’ve got the one from create but what we want is the one from mine colonies and basically what this does is keeps track of everything that’s being requested around your Colony if we had a clipboard we would have seen a long time ago that our colonists needed Sticks now to activate the clipboard you shift right click on your town hall that locks it into your Colony right click and we can see aha so this is what all of our guys need whoa boots oh of course we didn’t teach any boot recipes to our blacksmith we gave Him all the other bits of armor but not boots oh of course so there’s all kinds of things being requested here a fishing rod we haven’t given our Fisher a rod the god dragon is left on the coast powerless that’s a big old bummer well no worries so what are we looking for For we want to teach him the boots recipe we’ll give him iron boots to start with yep boom but also I think there must be chain mail boots as well so there we go with the two ingots and the two nuggets for the chain mail boots recipe amazing so the blacksmith now has Even more work to do which is great so that brings us on to the fishing rod now a fishing rod requires a very specific building to make the blacksmith won’t make a fishing rod because it’s kind of beneath her it’s a stick with string on the end she’s a master Artisan of Forging Metals she ain’t got no time for fishing rods and you know what I don’t blame her for a fishing rod we’re going to need a Fletcher’s Hut but we’re getting a bit ahead of ourselves let’s get back to the miner and make sure she’s actually doing what we want her To so you have a pickaxe now and it says you’re mining what do your open requests ah a shovel okay and it looks like she’s waiting for the delivery a shovel not the crafting okay so where’s The Courier this is where I’m also reminded that We’re kind of O got a quest over here from jewry right away oh you brought the clipboard yes you can have it but can I have it back wait Dude Where’s the oh my God I need I needed that clipboard oh well I guess we’re going to have to make Ourselves another one oh man what a pain wait no no no if we talk to Drury I think the quest reward is they give the clipboard back Moment of Truth though come here you what is it yeah amazing and is it still configured no it’s not configured To our town hall so she basically just took our clipboard ripped up all the paper on it and said here you go have it back thanks a lot thanks a lot jry anyway here we go back configured now the farmer’s always going to want fertilizer but he can work Without it so it’s not a problem but it also looks like mixer is is waiting on shingles for his Builder’s Hut but I thought he completed that yeah that’s weird maybe it’s a ghost in the system so here we go selda spenderella now has a shovel has a pickaxe what’s Next on the list right away Spruce slabs well luckily enough I’ve made some and put them in the warehouse but this is where we’re going to get onto problems when we don’t have a sawmill or a m Mason so the mine is configured now but we’re going to need a Mason and a sawmill to go forwards these are the places where Crafters craft all of the wood and stone recipes for our Colony so it means we’re going over to the university to do a bit of research now you guys said this wasn’t the front door but I’m having trouble believing That because this is a really big door and big doors are usually the front doors and this is a really small door which is usually the back so I don’t know I’m going to trust my gut on this one and say that we’ve got the right Front door door now we did woodwork as a research which means we’ve unlocked The Sawmill and we did Stone cake which means we’ve unlocked the stonem Mason’s Hut so we’ve got everything we need to get these up and running however moving forwards we’re going to need a Fletcher’s Hut to make fishing rods and that needs a sawmill and I might as well also unlock a crusher’s Hut and that’s going to require stone and a stonem Mason’s Hut so we have a clear goal going forwards now we’ll do some other level one research cuz it’s super quick and we can Do it while we’re building another beautiful day in the so I reckon probably the library do we have books yeah we’ll have some in the computer and a school so we’re going to want a bunch of books for both of these let’s go and grab some books so we’re looking for books I’ve Got 18 of them here amazing let’s go and do these researches Oh but before we do that as well we’ll construct the sill boom no sweat and we’ll also construct the Stonemason there we go good to go got my build tool yeah there we go got some books everything a growing boy needs to build a colony building here we go rock around the clock let’s get this research up and running ASAP and this is pretty important research that I probably Should have done a long time ago I’ve been very LS with the research only really doing it when I need to and that’s the wrong way to do research you should be reupping this every opportunity you have but here we go let’s go and find some spots for the Sawmill and the Stonemason oh yeah man just one chili Reno gets me full hunger that’s crazy I love this food but I’m a big fan of Mexican food IRL as well in fact if you’ve watched this far into the video I want you to put in the comment section What your favorite type of Cuisine is is it Italian is it Sushi is it Ramen is it Burgers Pizza Mexican Greek let me know and I will heart the comment all right so here we are we’re going to put both the saw meil and the stonemason side Over here because this is very much becoming the industrial sector and this kind of makes sense because in a lot of settlements in real life industrial zones are kind of on the coast right now these these oh these are actually a little bit bigger than I was hoping I Was hoping we could get both buildings over here we might be able to but it’s a tight squeeze that guard Tower had to be there to expand our boundaries I wonder though if we delete that guard tower now do we keep the boundary size that’s a Good question so we can tuck The Sawmill back there but I think what we can probably do is twist it on its side and save even more space so what if we put it along there like that yeah and now the question is can we fit a stonem Mason’s Hut in this Gap over here so we’re going to dig the corner here as a marker for where the corner of The Sawmill can be and change to the stonem Mason’s Hut now oh yeah okay so we are in luck the stonemason Hut is actually quite Small yeah look at that that that is amazing and we can squeeze that ooh behind the guard Tower I think it’s going to be a tight fit it does kind of overlap but let’s see what it looks like at level five cuz I don’t think it overlaps that badly so Level one 2 3 4 5 yeah you know what that’s actually kind of perfect this will be absolutely fine exactly where it is so level one pull the trigger on that and then we’re going to go over here use the corner marker to make sure we have the sawmill in the right Position yeah there we go that is the perfect position for The Sawmill now doesn’t look as good as the medieval Oak one did but let’s see level one two three oh looking better four and five like I said level three is really where things start to look amazing but we have To start with one so here we go right well I’m going to hook up both ambreal and mixer with the materials they need to get these bad boys built and let’s watch the build okay so the RAC is on once more the age-old adversaries ambriel and mixer now there’s a little bit of Digging to be done as you can see with both of these builds but nowhere near as much digging as with previous buildings where we haven’t been working with flat land as always working on flat land is a compromise in mine colonies your Colony will not look as cool if it’s all on Completely flat ground it’ll look a bit dull but the builders are going to have a much easier time getting their buildings into position if they don’t have to clear out a whole bunch of ground dirt trees and ruffage and here we go the level one buildings are going up slowly but surely It’s a big build these aren’t small buildings The Sawmill is pretty huge the stone makes not quite as big they’re not as big as the town hall or the university but they’re definitely not discreet builds now like I said nothing stays level one when we build it in this Colony now going forwards we’re going to go straight all the way to level two and we’re kind of going to need to because there’s a lot of recipes we need to cram into these huts and they only get 10 recipes per level now that’s something you can increase through research and That’s something we’re really going to need to Do but for now I am very happy with how these look at level two like I said level three is the real Lynch pin once everything gets up to level three it looks so much better and most buildings don’t really get that much better Beyond level three they can kind of do everything They need to at that point going to level four and five it’s always something that’s helpful but I do think level three is a big milestone okay amazing so now we have the stonemason and The Sawmill up to level two amazing so let’s take a look at the Block and see how they work so we’re going to have to hire a dude to work here but basically what you do is you put crafting recipes in here and they will make wood based recipes there’s also custom recipes I’m not quite sure what the difference between these two is There are no settings as of yet and they’re pretty basic buildings they’re only here to help in the automation of building stuff in general hey V back to work you so the to-do list and the Mason and The Sawmill taken care of now before we get more dudes in here we’re going to Need more dudes in the colony and that’s why I’ve prepared something over on the residential street now take a look here I’ve extended this street out a little bit further and put down the framework for two more residences if we can get these up to to level two both of these are Going to give us four more dudes for the colony more than enough to get the extra jobs we need so I’m going to set these up to go as well and I’ll join you after the build of these two houses so yeah we’re really just expanding the residential street we Already have I am a little bit nervous of clumping up all of my housing in one place we are going to need to put houses in other places around the colony because this street is still too far away realis ically from the industrial district but it’s not the end of the World while colonists will have to run a little bit further to get home there’s going to be plenty of jobs for them over on this end of The Colony anyway but I do think that these two last residences are going to be the last ones we place along this street after This street is done it’s time to look somewhere else for a place to put houses now I’ve been alternating the style of these residences there’s two types bricks and diorite and mixing them up just makes things look a little bit more organic unless syy anyway these two buildings at level Two let’s jump in game okay so two more level two residences for a grand total of four more citizens now as you can see there’s still a lot of ugly dirt around the edge of the university and we haven’t quite finished the street here there’s a lot of like you know chaff and Uh stuff to fix but we did leave a gap here so we can get to the guard Tower and the upper level of the colony that’s going to be back over there okay well four more spaces for dudes let’s head over to the tavern and hope some more dudes have Arrived Jordan Jester man that’s a superhero name sunflowers okay take a chili Reno and I’ll go and grab some sunflowers so basically what we want to do now is let me see to-do list done the new residences yeah it’s time time to get the new citizens and this is super Important because we’ve got loads and loads and loads of um well yeah empty spots in our colony and there’s no excuse everything that has a job should have a dude in it even if they don’t have anything to do except maybe the forestry Huns boom so Jordan Jester welcome to the Team who else has arrived we’ve got oh chicken fair weather hello diamonds I’ve got diamonds not a problem and John Cletus kevinson who needs Redstone okay let’s go and get those two things oh man pretty exciting we’re getting loads more dudes now and everything is coming together pretty Nicely a fine afternoon there we oh yeah excellent wait where have you gone okay John Cletus Kevin amazing and now over here chicken fair weather yes don’t mind if I do diamonds are so cheap for us now because the mining Dimension is yeah our playground so a look at the Town Hall Shows us that we have yeah still two more spots for dudes so let’s go and grab up some dudes looking for some fresh dudes fresh dudes what are you over here you’ve got a question mark oh oh scur bether is that for me ouch all right I pricked them with a Cactus my bad still waiting for me to kill 10 zombies all right yeah spoilers that might take some time and a look over here in the tavern we’ve got Uncle the tasty oh and there’s a guy over here as well who are you AWA fish bits is there emeralds problem yeah We’ve got the emeralds as well so we’ll give you the emeralds what is it and he’s got iron boot which means his STS are probably pretty tasty oh yeah look at this a 28 20 22 amazing stuff like I’ve said before in previous series when you get new people at the Tavern the quality of their boots dictates the quality of their stance Uncle the tasty only has leather boots so he’s going to be better than somebody with no boots but not as good as say iron boots chain mail boots or even diamond boots can appear oh and gold boots as well but There we go that’s our Colony fully up and running how many dudes do we have unemployed now then yeah look at this all four of the new dudes are unemployed but we’ve got some juicy positions to put them in so we’ll need a stonemason for one two more Couriers and of course the Carpenter and that brings us to those four new jobs so who’s got the uh St for this it looks like chicken fair weather is going to make a good runner for us and number two I reckon it’s going to be a w fish because 28 adaptability makes him Perfect for a career well okay now time for the pr new jobs that we have over here on the coast so we’re looking for a stone Mason a man who can chisel Stone you’re going to need strong hands and a strong will oh and it looks like John cletus’s Kevinson himself has the strongest hands we know and over here a carpenter a man of precision with an eye for detail or a woman and well it’s going to be uncle the tasty not amazing stats for this but you know what we’re not going to be choosers and there we go amazing so We’ve made some real solid progress this this episode The Dock section of our colony is coming along really well I’m going to need to finish up these roads and connect everything and also maybe put down some more redwood trees to make things look more pretty next episode What I think oh hello Uncle the tasty you look freaking amazing next episode we’re going to mix it up a bit because I really want to look into mystical agriculture I think we have enough resources now to go for some
