Hey guys welcome to top 5 minecraft castles now you might be asking yourself hang on a sec I’ve seen the thumbnail what what is this video well basically I’ve taken a look around planet minecraft add a whole bunch of things there and I was so inspired by some of The castles that I saw available for download by members of the public that I really wanted to just grab some take some footage of it and show you guys at home so that you can kind of come away from this and hopefully perhaps be inspired or just witness some of the Glorious creations that people have done now this is this is a castle by Alice and I was lucky enough to kind of have a chat with her about choices that she’s made because there are some really cool bespoke trees around the edge of the map and they come from a tree library that Her and her build team have kind of built together and then she can copy and paste from those around just to kind of reuse existing pool trees now there’s also a couple of other things about this map that are very unique and interesting one of those is the fact that she’s used Ice to broader the contours of the landscape around the outside and I did ask why is that was there a bug with my texture pack that I loaded it wrong and she said no she wants to do that because having that white kind of Sheen on the Horizon she felt gave it a kind of fantasy setting and I thought that was a really cool idea the fact that you know you can just use ice as a painting tool and some people do see Minecraft more as a canvas than as like a direct tool for Building so it was really cool to get the ideas on that also you can see some of the grass has been replaced by a lime green clay and again that’s to give the grass a bit more texture and make it pop out and come to life but this castle is immense And insane I asked her how long it took her and she said this whole bill took her about a week it is symmetrical so I can imagine when she did one half the other half was much easier and also there’s no interior and interiors of the bane of the Minecraft builder but this Is a really sweet castle let’s move on right now any of you guys Zelda fans I sure hope so because this next castle is from Quezon Ash Quezon I perhaps and it’s the Zelda castle from Twilight Princess that’s when it’s Hyrule Castle complete with the town in front of it And this is a really really beautiful and cool build now something to note is the fact that there’s there’s no stairs used in this build if you look around the castle they haven’t used any stair breaks and while that adds less detail but you can have sometimes it’s almost too much Detail in a build as you come around the back unfortunately a hand quite loaded yet so that’s a bit cut off but you can see especially on the roof just how well these roofs have been designed and I really do love the attention to detail that’s gone into these peaked roofs They’re very kind of well proportioned they look like perfect Peaks but that’s not it the Hyrule Castle itself is like kind of like a minor thing of this built the truth is he’s built the whole landscape from Twilight Princess so we’ve got this ruined tree which is one of the big Landmarks from the Zelda series but also if you’re a fan or you play Twilight Princess or even Ocarina of Time or the others you’ll be able to see some of these roads so these locations dotted around this map and think to yourself oh yeah that’s where I first discovered Your poner that’s what I jumped over here did that this is where I collected that gem there’s just loads and loads of really cool little bits and bobs if you’re a fan of the Zelda series so it definitely deserves to place in my top 5 Castle to pick even though it’s a castle From a game and not an original creation I really do think that he’s nailed something special with this build right next up on our list of amazingly cool castles the castle livid s and this is by KC rec now again what I love about this build Is the fact that it’s kind of purist they haven’t used stairs in certain locations and in a lot of ways they’re kind of forsaken the idea that they’re going to over detail the build when you go after a big build or when you kind of create something that’s got grandness And scale you have to say to yourself how long am I going to spend on each aspect of this build one thing I get caught up in is detail I want everything I create to look as good as it possibly can so I often spend way too long in the Build putting down little steps and things focusing too hard on the minor details because when you look at the build as a whole and put together the whole kind of set all the houses here with the cobwebs coming out the smoke guard towers the the streets and the Street lights and even that hot air balloon there I wouldn’t course the ships as a whole the whole piece just looks like a really cool build and so you don’t always need to go super in-depth with how much detail you chisel into a build I love these boats for example they’re Very very big and some of the surfaces are maybe a bit flat they could have been a little bit more curves but the truth is as a part of the whole as a part of the whole build they work really really well and it’s all about your time Constraint just remember how much time you want to spend on something because if you do find yourself like six hours into a build and you’ve been in a very small amount you might get this heartened and it might kind of turn you off building the rest of it you don’t Want that to happen so maintaining that maintain a pace you can keep up with as far as detail goes something that you’re happy with so that you don’t lose heart and get bored of the bill because that’s the last thing you want to happen I’ve had so many build where I’ve stopped Early just because I’ve run out of interesting cool things to put in and I’ve just spent way too long getting bogged down detail of one structure that when I look at what else I’ve got to make and imagine the amount of detail I’ve got to put into it it just it blows My mind and it just washes over me and it’s a bit overwhelming can feel like too much to do so make sure you pace yourselves when you’re making a built right so next up is tephra castle and the town of Knox Shire and this is by a Guy called Knox’s Bolger this is a really really really cool castle again don’t you can see the rooftops they’re bordered by stone brick which is a really good way to highlight and accent edges and what you can get sometimes is you have too many rooftops area can get Messy and you can’t really differentiate the different houses but when you’re in a town and you’ve got lots of rooftops together highlighting the edges can be a really good idea now that wind bill looks amazing I love it love the kind of the blades that are on it Also the clock tower really cool really tall add to the effect of the town and it’s even got a clock face too but oh and that pumpkin patch pretty cool too but the real jewel of this build is the castle let’s not forget this is among The top 5 minecraft castles for me and what I really love about this is that the guy has said hang on a second it’s definitely a man-made Mountain here or a couple of manmade peat somebody created that in some other tool like weld Edit or maybe even world painter but it’s Definitely like he created the mountain first and then built the castle on the mound so you can oppressed it against it he used the landscape and the geography to define how he was going to build his castle and he adapted with the terrain and I really love that I love it when People don’t use flat grass to build their builds and then build the terrain around it I love it when they take a place out in the world or even build terraformer places and then try and find a way to make a castle or a structure work within that space I think is a Really cool thing to do and of course it keeps the air keeps the world looking pretty natural when you build buildings around the environment rather than building the environment around buildings so yeah this is a really cool castle tephra castle love it so much definitely one of my top five Right and last but most certainly definitely not least if you’re a game of Thrones fan you can love this build this is the red keep from King’s Landing and this is a this is part of the pretty much world-famous Westeros craft minecraft server just look at the time These guys this team of people have spent so long recreating King’s Landing and it is beautiful its it’s a it’s a it’s a joy to behold just look at all of those rooftops all at different levels it’s a perfectly proportioned town there’s no uniformity everything’s kind Of different enough to stand out but but definitely obeys the same theme of the whole town look at the town square there all that dirt just the kind of attendre of of the blocks place is beautiful so statue I think of the mother down there in the bottom and I don’t know What this large dome is because there it’s been a while since I read the books or sort of series maybe this is where some dragons were held I’m pretty sure it’s not the Sept or the septum I think that’s that’s the kind of tall building that was cut off earlier but it Really is such a beautiful build there’s so much attention to detail that’s gone in and this is what happens when this is what you can what’s possible to create when you get a large team of people with one goal and one driver it’s the genius behind Westeros crowd isn’t the skill of The builders it’s the skill at looking after I’ve been running a building team right down to the harbour you can see down here and some of these boats you can just imagine the Battle of a black Ward’s are happening in this bait such a beautiful beautiful Bay the ships back There in the background have so much detail in it’s unreal just like the ships in the sails from a distance the silhouette just looks exactly like a ship and of course the crown jewel is definitely the red key now I’ve mentioned layering before and that’s where you build a Castle with let’s say three layers of brick so that you can have not one not two but three separate layers of detail and what that’s let people do here is have a glass window here or there have chiseled out stairs and things to bolster on detail to the side of the Wall but also you can dig in quite deep as well to chisel out some detail on the inside and it gives you so many options there’s a garden on the roof of that key that looks beautiful and it’s just a stunning build really stunning and again I really do urge you guys to check out Westeros craft and some of the beautiful things they do because this is just King’s Landing there are all kinds of bills from the world of Game of Thrones that they’ve completed and mastered and they are all stunning to behold so Definitely check them out as I said links are going to be in the description so make sure you take a look now I really enjoyed this I wanted to use this opportunity to kind of inspire some of you guys show you guys some of the amazing builds other people have done Because one of the best tools I find I have is the ability to talk to other people our build and see them and ask them about they’re built whether it’s just getting small tips and techniques on how to kind of make a flower box inside of a building or advanced Worldedit tricks and tips tips on what mods to use minor tips on how to build its really cool really cool to kind of see four tricks of the trade and see how other people go about
