Golly gee gosh, it’s been a while since we’ve been here, huh? Last time I did a crafting and chatting episode was August, but I have stuff to talk about, I have stuff to update you guys on, so I have an excuse to get back into it. This is the series where I just craft and chat. It’s kind of like my equivalent to, I don’t know, a blog, an update? Not really a podcast, but just where I play some Minecraft 360 edition like it’s 2011 and talk about updates. Let me just first catch my bearing. Looks like we need to work on the house. Need to chop down some wood and maybe get some sand so we can have some glass. I’m actually going to turn off the music so I can add it in post, So when I’m doing all these cuts it doesn’t interrupt the music. So I’m going to start harvesting wood and sand. Oh, we have some wood. Well, I’ll focus on sand then. While I… I get talking about what’s new.
So, yes, I have been gone for most of November, And with good reason, I, uh, I got a fever! And it took me a very long time to recover from it, and I still have like a cough or a cold or something, so I’ve been trying to rest my voice, and that’s why you haven’t seen any streams. Um, now, when I’m away from home, I generally don’t stop working. I try and always figure out ways to, uh, keep going on things. So this was my first real, actual break from things. Like, ever. Which is kind of crazy. Oh, and look, that’s the world border. It’s been kind of weird, but, um, the fever also caused me to have a very messed up sleep schedule, and I’ve been struggling to get that in check. But I think I’m finally on the tail end of it, and we’re getting back to some sort of normalty. Um, which is very exciting, because it means I can get back to streaming and making videos and stuff like that. Well, I wouldn’t go as far as to say I’m well rested but, you know I needed this, I think.
Next thing I wanted to talk about is my streaming situation! Before the whole thing happened, I was streaming every weekday basically at about evening time European 6 to 8 p.m ish thereabouts, and I don’t know whether to just go back to that or what? I think I’ll probably start off by doing that but if there’s anything that people are more people would find more convenient then definitely do let me know! Oh, I can’t put that in there. Hold on, no, there we go! But yeah, like I could toy around with other things, but I do want to have some time off for the week for myself. Because for the longest time, I was just working every single day- hello, I thought you were a zombie on fire! And that was very unmaintainable so to have some time for myself is kind of necessary, so I’ll probably continue doing Monday to Friday streams. Okay, let’s get a sapling here. I never like chopping trees and then just ignoring them. I need to replant them, I don’t know why. And I’ll come back then later and hopefully we’ll get some goodies. And even now just recording this basic video is actually hurting my throat, so actually I should be building with my oak and using spruce as fuel. I’m gonna have to take it easy and ease myself back in to things because even talking for extended periods hurts my throat, and when I was doing that whole streaming every weekday thing, we started doing VR streams on Fridays, but I might be putting an end to that, and my reasoning is that I finally took all of the boatloads of free time I had, because of this whole thing that was going on, and I installed Linux on my gaming computer, Pop!_OS to be specific! I’ll probably have a deeper video on that on the soafen2 channel later on but I’m not sure that using the Quest 2 on Linux is at a point where it’s stable enough to do a stream every week, so I might have to bite the bullet and do something I’ve never done before.. use my Quest 2 standalone.. I don’t know, like, I don’t own any games standalone so I don’t know, but we’ll figure something out maybe and then there’s also stuff like FORTNITE that I used to stream, that I guess I will have to stream the switch version instead or something now, you know that, that I guess adds to the comedy. I meant to open my inventory, not the Xbox thing. Okay, so let me think about what I’m doing right now. I need more wood and I need more sand. Okay, just more of everything, got it. But yeah, obviously there’s some sacrifices that have to be made from me going for Linux on my gaming PC, but it’s in my opinion very worth it for the upsides of an OS that doesn’t hate my guts so I’ll put up with some, I’ll put up with some inconveniences, you know. I’ll be the change I want to see in the world I just, yeah, don’t want a monopoly of like market share with operating systems but I don’t want to make this whole video about that, so I’ll leave it there for now. If you’re more interested on the technical side of things I suggest the soafen2 channel to you. And speaking of soafen channels, This literally segues me to my next talking point perfectly, actually! Soafen3! Soafen3 was a longer channel that’s what my goal was, but um the thing is, if I’m playing a game for long and recording it, It’s going to be either one…
