Revitalize the skull Dimension making it fair to play and a major part of game progression [Applause] Welcome back to another Wanderers Dev vog as always we’re starting this month’s devlog with Community announcements firstly Wanderers enter the dojo is being released allowing our community to test our new combat features additionally we will be keeping our email address open to Applications early versions of our skull expansion and some of its content in log five our biggest devlog yet we’ll be covering our unique layered skull Dimension as well as some combat Changes our new factions new passive mobs and finally our Dojo demo Minecraft’s introduction of the skull biome has always been a controversial decision being a concept very alien to Minecraft’s core ideas and housing a mob stronger than even the bosses of Minecraft in wanders our goal Is to refocus the aim of it and keep with the horror theme while expanding it into a more fair challenge with a much wider area to explore our new skull Dimension is called the other side which is split into two layers the surface layer and the caves the surface layer is Very decorated with Lush greens and plant life where various creatures of great Beauty roam the plane there’s natural light in the skull Dimension similarly to the nether in the form of plants that Encompass it certain plant life of the Lush caves such as the glowberries are native to the other side And make up a large portion of the light upon the surface while Wildlife relationships of predator and pre exist in the surface layer they are for the most part similar to to the Overworld however on the underside of the surface layer is where the Deep live in The cave layer of the other side entities like the warden lurk and silence is not just advised but mandatory for survival the species of the cave layer live in complete quiet as to not disturb the various monsters that lurk in the dark searching for their prey as most creatures are blind light Is in very short supply making it difficult for Outsiders to navigate there are very few natural connections between between the two layers giving those who are trapped inside a hard time escaping to the surface to show the relations between mobs in the cave layer we’re going to Showcase some of our new Skull competitors and the civilization that is unfortunate enough to live among them the first few creatures of the dark are mudler and the glow Beetle small ambient creatures that serve as prey for the larger beasts as the other creatures of the cave layer are blind they are Able to Glow in the darkness and stand out amongst each other using their unique eyesight to guide them and protect each other other the glow beetles are harmless to the player but being unfortunate enough to step on a muddler will have serious consequences it will shriek out in pain which draws Nearby mobs to your location if you can’t escape in time an accident can end in your ugly death the next two additions are unique predators in that they use crowd control tactics to capture their prey if the player is unlucky enough to alert a Banshee it will unleash a Sonic Blast damaging the Player it cannot be heard by the player though and it will be only heard by other banshees which will locate the player and proceed to hunt them similarly the snitch is an entity that feeds on the work of larger beasts if one happens to stumble upon you it will Unleash a cowl that alerts nearby enemies after which it will run away other mobs such as the Banshee or the warden will be alerted to your position and will begin to hunt you from which the snitch is able to capture his prey after they have done the work lastly and Most importantly is a major civilization of the other side that being the stalker the stalkers are creatures similar in structure to the warden but much more advanced and peaceful Generations ago they formed societies among the cave layers before the skull infection had spread across the cave layer and Creatures like the warden had evolved each of their settlements are completely silent facing the imminent threat of Beastly creatures like the warden or the Banshee because of this they are unable to advance their societies and create Better Lives for their people in their attempt to escape to the Overworld they Failed to cross over without contaminating it as well causing the spread of the skull infection in the Overworld ruins of their once advanced cities remain from before the skull began to spread into their home and creatures of the other side crossed into their Overworld to hunt them cornered by The forces of nature they require the players help in eliminating the threats of the dark and escaping to the surface of the other side now that we’ve covered civilization of the other side let’s segue into a larger related addition the faction system of wanders builds upon the civilizations present in the Game world and the relations with not only each other but themselves and their environment using the civilizations present in the game world combined with our custom campaign and story we can build convincing narratives between factions and structure their purpose in the game world as we’ve already discussed the stalkers who are known as The silenced we’ll jump straight into our first nether faction [Applause] The first major faction are the War Pigs as piglins from all regions of the nether are under a disconnected and falling Empire those who live outside the emperor’s watchful eye are in great poverty and under strict supervision of the brutes seeking a strong United Empire a piglin leader rises from far Across the nether to rebel against the emperor’s tyrannical rule however because of his conflicts with the rising Overworld faction the emperor has hidden a horrific secret from his public one that will ensure the revolutionaries cannot overthrow him without the aid of the [Applause] Player the rising Overworld faction in question is none other than the illers who operate under the name of the exiled believed to be cursed those who look like the illers find nothing but hatred in their societies the enchanter being one of those who was driven out of his Home because of his appearance sought to unify those like him and make them normal to find Acceptance in The Villages his experiments fail and the Creations he causes pose great danger to The Villages that he tried to return to as a villagers increasingly resent those like the enchanter he instead shows a Different approach forming an army of his own people he now trains a magicians of the Woodland mansions and leads the raids on the villagers to strengthen his army and conquer the Overworld the dragon Syndicate are the remains of the Enderman a people who centuries ago were freed from the rule of the Ender Dragon as they foresaw the dragon’s return they traveled across Dimensions using their teleportation to gather resources that strengthen them they are highly intelligent and have devoted themselves to stopping the imminent Return of the Dragon into the world though due to unforeseen interference from Outsiders their strict preparation may have failed Them now that we’ve covered our factions and given some much needed lore info tell us what you think in the comments which faction are you most that we’ve been working on month first up is the ostrich arguably the most notable addition of our new ambient mobs the ostrich can be found in the Savannah Biome with some food they can be tamed and like horses players Will be able to ride tamed ostriches using a saddle the ostrich has a unique drawback being an extremely fast mount but initially walking for a short period this startup makes its speed a trade-off getting increased speed on the mount but requiring a longer startup time versus the instant Sprint ability of the horse Or camel the forest bear refers to two variants of bear the grizzly and the black bear that can be found roaming in forest and tiger biomes similarly to the polar bear they will be neutral unless the player gets extremely close after which they will Sprint wildly towards The player chasing them away the piranha is an aquatic Predator that feasts on the fish of the Jungle and if the player finds himself in a particularly swamped area they can be easily swarmed by a group of the water-bound pests players will have to remove Piranhas from their Body or else they’ll suffer serious slowness when exiting the water and health drain hitting a piranha on your body will instantly kill it lastly the giraffe is a passive creature that can be found in the Savannah Biome like his real life counterpart it boasts an extremely long neck and patterned skin That gives a nice touch of life to the Savannah they don’t spawn frequently but finding one is a nice touch for the players who feel like the Savannah is deserving of some extra content the demo has been our team’s main focus this month and for good reason it allows Us to give the community live tests of our latest combat editions and a preview for the more advanced combat system and Wanderers it is also a feature that will carry over to the base game being a practice mode that will allow players to hone their skills in combat and use Various weapon combinations to test combos attacks and abilities in the release version there are three different maps that are playable allowing players to practice in a multitude of environments that tie into the story of Wanderers on release enter the dojo will come with the classic Dojo the fight club and the enchanter library Each map has a unique style and different types of enemies to fight more maps will be added in the future and they will all carry over into the dojo practice mode for the release version of Wanderers in the dojo Maps players will be able to choose enemy types and amount With three different enemy VAR Varian for each map enemies have various moves and if they catch the player off guard they can easily string into combos the enemy AI is not as diverse or skilled as a player but it poses a far greater challenge than that of the base enemies In Minecraft and with the broad range of styles that wanderous combat provides they will make for fun sessions fighting waves and testing combos we’ve also expanded our
