Fallen kingdom is one of the most popular minecraft songs on all of YouTube it’s a parody of Coldplay’s Viva la Vida upload by CaptainSparklez on April 1st 2012 I was 13 then I know many of you were too so coming back to analyze one of the biggest inspirations For eleven Slayer six years later truly shows how fast time passes let’s take a look at all the little details that you missed and fallen Kingdom stay tuned what’s up survivalist says Shane from Team WJ here to talk about what you missed and fallen Kingdom I want to Preface this by saying that I’m not hating on fallen Kingdom I’m just pointing out what’s there just to give some technical information this was animated on Maya by bootstrap buckaroo and kami sparkles himself the texture pack is a sixteen by sixteen version of doses radix which I believe is called Mini dope now let’s get started we first start off by seeing the king and miring something but we never really get to see what this something is that is unless you watch the video on building Lissette we would realize that the king is actually admiring a statue Now this statue was probably planned to be shown but through the nature of widescreen it must have been cut off on his neck shot here wait hold on it’s the king himself as many have pointed out this king was actually inspired by the Burger King I didn’t notice this as a CaptainSparklez sense Of himself there’s a continuity error in this scene look at his hair on his beard see this is the past where everything is so peaceful on his hair and beard should look like this this see look at the way this chicken moves its head logs that’s attention to detail right there also This is something really technical so those who don’t anime will understand this but check out those normal maps on this guy’s helmet for those who don’t understand these helmets actually have a 3d texture to them just look at the way the light reflects this is the magic That they’ve managed to pull off by contrasting the empty streets of streets vote of life even though it’s just a little bit of life it makes the city feel so much more alive and these aren’t just random standing around or mindlessly walking take a look this Guard is on duty looking out for people life is given to them weathers knows it’s like this little hit and he has to scratch it and these two over here trading fork boy mo these textures are from before beta 1.8 but we doing something in look the guy Pulling the cart while he’s pulling the cart and of course is that little villager over there back we just forget about it but you get my point there’s life people are doing things small note apparently this puppet was animated by hand not my case another small note this kid right here Is his son take a look at the grass right there yeah it actually interacts and flattens when here brines steps on it as I was writing the script I was wondering how they did that and I figured it out like a day later so Torrio coming soon something that Doesn’t make sense now but used to make sense it says TNT ignition in the old days if you hit a TNT it actually ignite now I don’t know if this was done intentionally or not but after here Brian hits the TNT he kind of just disappears something that confuses me in This scene is how these guards died and why are the families still there if these gars are dead something must have came in and killed them right where did they come from and where do they go take a look at this flag it didn’t just detach for the sake Of detaching this is setting up so it could completely fall off in the next few shots again attention to detail I bet any of you who didn’t watch the behind the scenes videos miss lists take a look at this house the roof crumples in one of know one of the biggest Reasons I’m writing websphere because I believe minecraft animations are more than just comedic parodies or jokes their proper art forms that can tell proper stories with deep subjects just take a look at this fallen Kingdom fallen Kingdom you get it symbolism Vica falling Kings we all know He falls into the pool of water and survived so let’s skip past that more importantly I know that in this shot he’s not actually fallen and if he is he’s not falling that fast how do I know this well if you take a look at his cloak that’s not the right physics it Should be facing upwards if he’s falling fast not downwards as they are right now hey thanks for watching my entire video I hope you all got some entertainment out of this and if I miss anything please let me know in the comments below being a youtuber is hard work so I’ve Left some links to my patreon in my other videos right here Cheers Video Information

In the wake of Minecraft’s 9th Anniversary, I thought I’d bring us back to the old days, back to the time Captain Sparklez released Fallen Kingdom on April 1st 2012.
Fallen Kingdom was a major inspiration that contributed to the development of Levaslier and is on the major reasons I decided to make a Minecraft Animated Webseries in the first place. I saw the potential to tell a story with its own characters, world, and lore.
This videos dives into all the little details that may have gone passed unnoticed when first viewing it. This analysis comes from the perspective of an animator, film editor, story writer, and Minecraft enthusiast.
Fallen Kingdom may be one of the most well known and original Minecraft Parodies to date, but it is not without its flaws too. This analysis video works to show what Captain Sparklez and Bootstrap Buckaroo did both good and bad while animating Fallen Kingdom.
The goal of this analysis is to shine light on what details have been put to Minecraft animations in the past and to inspire new animators, provide them with new ideas and new outlooks to what’s possible within this niche.
