THE BEST MINECRAFT BIRCH FOREST UPDATE CONCEPT

The birch forest biome is creepy at least to me it is i don’t know what it is about this biome really but it’s always giving me this eerie unsettling feeling maybe it’s because this place is so relatively devoid of life repetitive and just really like blank feeling but

It’s creepy that’s kind of like a limbo when it comes to biomes in the game they could definitely use a little bit more birch forest has to be in the conversation you take a biome that usually ends up looking a little bit something like this birch trees as far

As the eye can see you add a little bit more life a little bit more plants a little bit more variation to the place and it’s no longer a limbo that’s like a peaceful forest paradise today we’re going to take a look at an amazing birch forest upgrade concept created by super

This pack does a really really good job at revamping the birch forest inside of this new revamped birch forest we’re going to find new types of flowers we’re going to find amazing looking logs like actually one of my favorite log concepts of all time it’s really really cool

We’re going to find a new plants as well and we’re going to find better tree generation so right off the bat look at this birch forest right here the trees got way taller this is kind of like the old growth birch forest and honestly this is something that i kind of feel

Needs to happen across the board in the game if the developers want to make things like horses more useful uh like seriously how do you actually like ride a horse through these things uh trick question you can’t i’ve tried in survival so many times you you just

Can’t the trees across the board i mean they’re nice they’ve always been this way but they’re too short the first thing that the birch forest upgrade does is make the trees a little bit taller now you will be able to still find shorter trees like this tree right there

But tall trees tall trees are a very very common theme here at this point in the grand scheme of minecraft something like a tree it’s a relatively simple idea if you take a tree that’s always kind of been the same and you just basically add like seven blocks to it instantly realism realism

Is created now we have this canopy of tree leaves that are far above the head moving through here feels really really good and like i said horses making trees taller would make horses way more useful you could actually ride your horse through this thing without either a your

Head being stuck in leaves constantly or a b just like literally not being able to move at all because the trees are way too short i know it’s such a simple thing but 1.18 made the world taller in a sense because the new mountains i really hope that going forward as the

Developers continue to revamp biomes they consider making trees across the board a little bit taller taking a look back at the concept art from minecraft live for a potential birch forest revamp looking at the trees one of the first things we notice are branches the birch

Trees have branches in my opinion one of the best trees in the manila game has definitely got to be those gigantic oak trees with the branches inside of them do i think there should be a birch tree just like that like basically copy and paste it swap out the logs swap out the

Leaves ah no definitely not i think birch trees are generally a little bit thinner but branches coming off of the birch tree like that right there or that over there or like really throughout this whole forest yes definitely 100 percent absolutely i think it’s such a

Cool idea like it makes the trees way more interesting looking and also gives venus the spot to actually hang and make a little bit more sense and it just looks so much more real now i in my opinion if we were going to actually do this i would say

Maybe we use those once like fully solid bark logs it would show people that they’re actually in the game but at the same time i mean that’s fine too i kind of like that texture it does look really nice but either way logs hanging off of

These trees and maybe even or maybe even if the developers wanted to go crazy here you could have trees with multiple branches coming off of them so maybe you end up with something that kind of looks like that i mean it’s a little weird looking for sure but uh i mean i think

It’s kind of cool like you’d have to get used to it um maybe they come up with a better way to do it than that okay i’ll admit it i i think that looks terrible i should have left it alone multiple branches or definitely not i do think

That the birch tree the oak tree uh need to be revisited and maybe made a little bit taller across the board it could be cool branches in the birch forest that’s another really nice idea now uh next up i’d like to talk about one of my favorite log ideas of all time

Look at this thing right here this log laying on the ground that is actually hollow like look at this you can literally see right through it i don’t know this is like mind blowing to me this is revolutionary and i i think from this day on i will never be able to

Forget this idea like i it needs to happen 100 logs that are hollow in the middle imagine that for like decorating and terraforming or even just in general like imagine moving through a world and finding downed trees that look kind of like this that are just hollow like

They’ve been there for a really really long time that’s an amazing idea it’s so good so cool it’s perfect and i love it i think i’m obsessed with it now let’s say i was moving through this forest and survival i found this log i was amazed like absolutely amazed by this thing and

I wanted to bring it back to my base maybe build with it i mean this could be like a really really good window on a build or something like that uh but either way let’s say i found this log and i wanted to bring it with me not a

Problem at all you take an axe just like with normal logs you mind the log and then it’s your log and you can bring it back with you however let’s say i could maybe like just not find this forest at all well also not a problem because there’s a crafting recipe imagine being

Able to take logs throw them inside of a crafting table just like this and then there you go eight lying logs they’re hollow logs that you can place and build with just like normal logs and they have a hole in the middle they literally have a hole in the middle

Okay in the grand scheme of things i realized that this isn’t like the most revolutionary idea it’s not like a skulk sensor or something super complex or anything it’s literally log but you put a hole in the middle uh but in my head this is like yeah the most revolutionary

Amazing thing in the world like look at this a pile of logs right here with a window in the middle it’s really cool there are so many implications for this for example imagine being able to take these logs and put them in a pile on the ground maybe something like that rails

Over it to make it look good and there you go you actually have real logs that look like they’ve been chopped down from a tree an amazing decoration that has so much depth to it because again did i mention that you can literally see through these things

This is like amazing for building this would be like the best thing in the world even better than spruce strap doors or any spruce things you can throw on a build this is perfection after all of these years i finally found it this is it right here and you would have to

Assume that if this were going to make it into the vanilla game and the developers were going to do it exactly like this like crafting recipe and all you would have to assume that every other wood type would probably get the same treatment i mean why not imagine

Having this but in like a spruce log and then even better imagine being able to strip this thing you have that whole clean texture or the whole spruce texture or oak texture or really whatever you’re trying to go for even like the acacia one you strip it then

You have like an orange pipe that has been rusted there’s an actual hole in the middle so actual pipe it’s literally just a log with a hole in it but i think it’s the most exciting thing in this entire video and maybe the most exciting thing that i’ve seen since like uh

Sounds like the frog betas or something log with hole in the middle of it i need it it has to happen and if it doesn’t happen well i don’t want to think about that because now that i’ve seen this i will never forget this thing the lying logs with the hole in the

Middle are amazing but we have to move on and so what this pack is going to do to your world is basically take some of the birch forest that exists inside of it and upgrade it i highly recommend dropping this pack into a brand new world a world that you haven’t built in

Just in case especially if you built inside of a birch forest bomb if you do drop this in your world you have to be patient because basically your world has to load the first time and basically what’s gonna happen is your game will load the burst force then the data pack

Will think about upgrading the birch force maybe do it and if it does the force gets completely changed it doesn’t happen every single time though which is something that i definitely feel should happen every single time if the birch forest actually gets upgraded in 1.19 so

A normal forest a new one you can tell the trees get a little bit taller same thing normal new then normal in the middle and then new over there too now all over the place we have bees because inside of this new birch forest biome beehives b nests whatever you want to

Call them they’re like very very abundant on these logs or knots in the trees as the data pack calls it you’ll be able to find logs now also take a look at this area right here very very subtle but particles all over the space right here particles inside of a biome i

Love it just small faint green ones kind of just like the sport blossom or maybe literally the sport blossom one but but either way i i love it it’s so nice and it adds to the atmosphere like so much wait a second hold on a bite large caves

Biome maybe there’s just a four blossom somewhere um there’s one right there but it seems a little bit far for particles to be there i don’t know either way there’s particles here and that should be a thing i love it another amazing feature of this birch forest upgrade

Concept is mushrooms on the trees look at the street right here there are mushrooms like literally growing on this tree it’s so cool now if i want the mushrooms what i’m gonna have to do is either strip the log or i could just mine the log if i can find some more

Like right over there and i go over to the log i mine the log out and then i get brown mushrooms so unfortunately this mushroom isn’t like a new type of mushroom or something like that if it were in the game i definitely think it should be different maybe just simply

Tree mushroom or something like that yep i’m insanely creative when it comes to naming things i know i know but no really i think it’s such a nice idea like mushrooms being able to grow on the trees i mean it happens in real life that’s cool and it also adds a lot more

Detail to the logs and variation too on some trees you have the mushrooms on other ones you don’t and then on other ones you have the mushrooms but that time they’re a little bit lower it’s such a cool idea now it doesn’t work like this in the pack unfortunately but

I did come up with an interesting idea for these mushrooms potentially growing on the trees so in normal minecraft in the vanilla game if it’s dark enough in an area which it doesn’t seem to be dark enough anywhere over here but if it’s dark enough in an

Area you can plant a mushroom on the ground imagine taking that concept but basically moving it over to a log so let’s say we had a log in a dark area like this spot right here uh we could take bone meal bone meal the log and then the mushrooms would grow on the

Side of the log just like they do on the tree right there i think that would be a cool way to mix it into the game and it would be an interesting mushroom farm then maybe you use water to rinse them off with the logs or something you’d be

Able to farm the mushrooms pretty easily and maybe even depending on how you set things up fully automatically too the mushrooms that grow on the side of the trees in this birch forest concept are literally just brown mushrooms however these mushrooms right here that you can

Find generating on the ground or on logs sometimes inside of this birch forest biome are definitely different mushrooms they look very similar to the brown mushroom except this time it’s like a cluster this definitely reminds me of some of those nether update plants that they added that are like a small cluster

Like literally just like this you want these things in survival or maybe these new flowers too all you need to do is break them with your hand you break them with your hand then you have them and then you can place them back down or you could not

Place them back down you can’t really craft anything with these things unfortunately no like die or anything from these flowers or anything to do with these new toad stools as they’re called but they are cool one thing that i feel the nether update did really really well was creating an ambiance a

Vibe inside of each of these biomes especially the forest ones on the ground all over the place you’ll be able to find these plants and sure the plants don’t really have like uses always especially these small little ones right there but they are still cool they’re a

Nice addition it shows that not all plants in the game need to have some kind of use they don’t really even need to drop anything special the plants can just be there to help add to the environment make it feel a little bit more full of life and make it a lot more

Interesting i think the devs could take that concept and basically just take it move it over to the overworld and instantly the bottoms inside of the overworld that they do that inside of get a little bit more interesting looking now in the flowers case of course if they’re going to add a new

Type of flower to be consistent this should just be able to be crafted into a dye as well but still more plants inside the bottoms and some of the plants maybe not really having much of a use at all like those ones down there it’s not a

Bad idea it will make the biomes again a little bit more interesting some of these new plants that would theoretically be added should definitely be unique to certain biomes as well just like with the nether plants they’re cool so we have this cool purple flower we also have this white flower over here

That kind of looks like a dandelion to be honest but it’s not this is not a dandelion the pink flowers are miyako kamuras and they look really really nice and the wide flowers the white flowers are plant and thera chloranthus so uh taking a look at this flower it is too

Tall which is amazing another too tall type of flower unfortunately in this pack you can’t bone meal it for more of them but a two tall white flower would be so useful like insanely insanely useful of course with these two tall other ones you bone meal them you get

More flowers on bedrock you can actually bone meal all the flowers and get more flowers which is great maybe java could just have that but like a two tall white flower at the least that’s a really great idea also again decoration flowers always super useful another thing that this pack adds to the

Generation of the birch forest are boulders boulders made out of andesite and tough i like this idea a lot inside of those mega tiger bottoms you have the mossy cobblestone boulders they definitely add to the environment if you take the birch forest bomb you make the trees a little bit taller 100

There’s room for boulders inside of the bottoms i love the idea of rocks and boulders sitting on the surface if you’ve ever terraformed an area then you know adding rocks makes something way more interesting looking if you’ve never terraformed an area then to make something look more interesting you add rocks

So boulder sitting on the surface i love the idea and then finally this thing right here basically moss layer hanging on the side of a log i’m obsessed with this thing the most this thing well actually i take it back i think i’m obsessed with whole and the

Log the most but second most this thing right here look at how good it looks like sure it kind of breaks out of that whole square blocky thing that minecraft has but then again not everything is square and blocky like think of the twisting vines weeping vines not square

And blocky at all so everything doesn’t have to be square and blocky that looks so good and i feel like this is a huge missed opportunity for the moss carpet i mean i i get it that the moss carpet is like literally carpet but moss but imagine being able to place this thing

On something and then maybe you place like i don’t know like a second one on the side and then it would create a side texture like that or something uh kind of like with glow-liking to be honest that would have been so good it would

Have been so cool and i guess it’s never too late to add it right like you wouldn’t even need a whole separate plant it could literally just be moss layer muscle layer on the side muscle layer on the side the side ones have a different texture and there you go if

The developers want to go the optifine route they could make things really really fancy here by saying you can put a moss layer on the side of something without it being on the top and then if you put another one next to it the texture connects and fills in and same

With down there it fills in but then maybe the texture has like slight holes in it so you can kind of see the block below it oh my gosh it would be amazing and also this thing kind of reminds me of the glare which i guess is a tragic way to end

This video taking a look at that birch forest overhaul concept from minecraft live one more time that concept art is beautiful unfortunately sometimes concept art stays concept art hopefully this time it doesn’t hopefully the developers are definitely planning a birch forest overhaul in 1.19 because i think the birch forest definitely

Deserves it and needs it taking a look at the concept art thinking about what the pack adds the pax is pretty true to that concept art we have the tree mushrooms we have the new flowers that are tall and white we have the pink clusters on the ground we even have a

Log with a hole inside of it and branches on the tree this pack seems to be a really really faithful recreation of that concept art and that’s why i love it i personally think that the thing shown off in that birch forest concept and all of the things that this
