– [Narrator] Whether you play Minecraft or not, it’s a platform full of creations that we can all marvel at. When it first released, it was plausible to remain skeptical over just how popular and limited Minecraft would be. Leave it to the active minds of gamers to show you That a game about building with blocks can become something long-lasting, basically like a digitized version of Lego. With such an unlimited platform, many creative minds have taken to the customizable world and brought to life these ten epic Minecraft creations. – Amazing! – [Narrator] Number 10, the Tower of Babel. The Tower of Babel may be a structure rooted in the myth of the origin of man, specifically the diversification of civilizations, but an unknown user brought the towering structure to life in impressive form. There are many incarnations of the tower in Minecraft, but the minute details put into this circular structure Make it one of the greatest. Each of the seven million blocks and 90,000 lights come together perfectly to create this unique, modern take. A spiral staircase winds up each of the hundred floors, ending at a glass bulb that allows visitors to view the surrounding world. Number nine, working cell phone. Working closely with Verizon Wireless and using Minecraft’s assortment of blocks and Boxel, a web application that translates video and web pages to blocks, YouTuber CaptainSparklez brought the first working cell phone to the world of Minecraft. By creating an oversized cell phone and tower in-game, Sparklez was able to demonstrate Real-time pixelated video calls and a working web browser. Though the browser is more fun than functional, the video call feature works unexpectedly well. Number eight, Babylonian City. Built by a team of player SwiftSampson and his girlfriend, this throwback to the Babylonian empire is rife with incredible details, Such as the specks of color in the pillars to give the sandstone structures a little vibrancy. Nooks and crannies hide scattered plant life while every city light is purposefully placed to bring the metropolis to life come nightfall. Flanked by a nearby tower, the beauty and intricacies Of the Babylonian call-back can either be viewed and admired from above or within the carved out streets. Number seven, Minas Tirith. The Lord of the Rings is not without its unforgettable set pieces, among them the mountainside city of Middle-earth, Minas Tirith. The brains behind the beautiful rendering Of the White City is legendary creator Epic Questz. Almost a full year of work was put into bringing this J. R. R. Tolkien creation to life, and features hundreds of unique buildings and customized interiors. Walk through sewers, dungeons, mansions, palaces, and taverns, or interact with the city’s catapult defenses to immerse yourself In a highly detailed recreation of The Lord of the Rings. Number six, Giza Necropolis. It’s not an incredibly colorful slab of blocks to explore, but the completed look of the Giza Necropolis is impossible to ignore. From the imposing Sphynx to the towering Great Pyramid of Giza, this project, Finished by robbiemar in just around two days, is a great recreation of what the Giza complex would have looked like before years upon years of wear and tear took a toll. From scattered cemetery sites, to the clear detailing of the Sphynx face, to the seemingly accurate scaling of the pyramids, It’s clear that a lot of time and attention went into the finer details of this historic tribute. Number five, King Kong versus V-Rex statue. Not every worthwhile creation in Minecraft has to be some in-depth city. In fact, it can even be something less interactive, like a monument to one of cinema’s greatest square-offs. This incredible statue is a highly detailed tribute to the colossal battle between the mighty King Kong and V-Rex. The tribute features detailing of Skull Island, including the sacrificial gate, and a miniaturized Ann Down for the hulking Kong to hold on to. The sculpture was created by Minecraft user Wombatus on the MinecraftCC server. It looks so well made that many speculate that it was originally a digital 3D model imported into Minecraft via software. Number four, Imperial City. When you think of things built in Minecraft to impressive scale, one of the first creations that should come to mind is Rigolo and Comeon’s Imperial City. With a team of seven architects, the Imperial City is a lengthy project that features beautiful, towering structures, massive colosseums, a military base, and unique touches, like the skeleton statues built into a mountainside, that give the city its own backstory. Imperial City is not just a Minecraft structure You can meander about for an hour or so. It’s a living creation that can easily provide countless hours of entertainment. Number three, 1940’s New York. As you roam the streets of this modern, Minecraft take of 1940’s New York, you may start to feel like you’ve time traveled Right into the heart of the city. Okay, so maybe the blocky look will bring you back to reality, but The Manhattan Project, helmed by C_B_John, is an inspired, one to one replica of the city as it stood during the 1940’s. Using archived photographs, the build came to life In exquisite detail, right down to the trees that once lined the streets. St. Paul’s Chapel, the Woolworth Building, Wall Street, Broadway, and up to 400 additional buildings are all there to explore and relive a simpler time. Number two, WesterosCraft. Whether you watch the TV show or enjoy the books, WesterosCraft is the perfect marriage of Game of Thrones and Minecraft. The lands of WesterosCraft bring to blocky life George R.R. Martins’ visions of kingdoms and castles like The Iron Islands, The Crownlands, The Vale, Dorne, The Riverlands, and the Stark home of Winterfell. Devoted followers will recognize Castle Black, Littlefinger’s Brothel, Crasters Keep, High Tower, Bear Island, and the towering wall defending the south from the forces of the north. The production of this expansive recreation of Westeros and beyond was so tightly knit that builders were required to apply in order to be accepted. Number one, the entire country of Denmark. In some countries, Minecraft is used as a form of education, and one country, Denmark, took this concept to a whole new level when the members of the Danish Geodata Agency created a one to one scale of the entire country. The map was created to give a better understanding of the country And allow users from near and far away to travel without the hassles of airfare. The minds behind the build, Simon Kokkendorf and Thorbjorn Nielsen, pulled data about roads, structures, and elevation to help guarantee a quality, spot-on recreation of their homeland.
