What happens when you combine the most beloved and critically acclaimed fantasy series with the best-selling game we all know and love well you get the Masterpiece that is the articraft server led by its founder fournette the highly skilled team of Builders artists developers researchers and more have Been hard at work for the last nine years recreating the entirety of The Lord of the Rings Middle Earth in Minecraft this includes iconic locations such as Rivendell eisengard iterus and many more all in the most amazing detail it doesn’t stop there though every Hill every Valley every Ridge in the terrain Has been handcrafted to Perfection to embody the heart and soul of Middle Earth so I invite you to join me on this special Journey Through the team’s most recently completed project the village of Brie home to the prancing pony and the hobbit’s first stop on their Journey out of the Shire okay action Cool all right well welcome to uh to autographs I’m performance on the kind of admin founder of the server with me today I’ve got a few of the builders and people who helped uh to construct the town of Brie over the last uh six or Seven months so we’ve got on the all the way on the right over there we’ve got half seeker and then we’ve got H fans and those two guys LED Bree we’ve got danock here who uh was one of the guys who did many of the interiors and and Myself so we’re going to take you through kind of the farmland and the town itself show off some of the details and all the things that we’ve been able to achieve with conquest and kind of explain how we approach this world and how we approach recreating talking as Well you may notice that everything here looks very different to vanilla Minecraft This Server uses a mod called conquest reforged or more recently conquest refabricated and that adds over 13 000 new blocks to the game and allows them to add all sorts of incredible details they’ve created a special mod Pack so that anyone can join the server look around and even become a part of this amazing project but more on that later in the video the articraft team’s attention to detail doesn’t just stop at the blocks they place though no to create a fully immersive world you have To know where and specifically why to place the box which requires a bit more information so this is something we’re going to talk about about this video but we do a lot of research around medieval life and one of the things that happened you know almost every day is primarily The women would come down to the river with the clothes and they would would wash and they’d talk and hang up the person drives right that’s kind of like our goal is how would these societies actually work in reality and how are we going to represent everything the whole Range of professions and tasks that would be required to keep you know a place like this going and so you’ll see that throughout and it really adds to the the explorability of the build and the kind of the realism and to make it feel like um like you maybe said before we started Recording to make it feel like this is a real place you know this isn’t just a like a Minecraft build this this could exist yeah so we actually have a a professional botanist um who has is created a full he’s working wow yeah he’s working working on A full map of Middle Earth with biomes based on ones from from Europe so we know eventually we will have a full map and we’ll be able to go okay all of this all of these regions will be basically accurate to the way that they would look You know in real life no wonder it’s taken you 10 years yeah this is It’s a serious project yeah yeah at least it started off serious until my lack of History knowledge caught up with me not a fun fact probably a very fun fact used urine for for washing it’s not like After introductions and a bit of familiarizing myself with their process and the method in which they create this world it took me through the surrounding farmlands as we headed into the village of Brie showing off a technique where they’d recreated a 1600s medieval farming system called Ridge and Faro I Was told the server was set somewhere between the end of summer and Early Autumn so these fields had just begun to be harvested as you can see with the stacks of hay everywhere heartsika then took us over to his Mill that he was super proud of but I wasn’t convinced it Was safe with the server believe me I got a working version of this Mill that fully rotates it just about crashed the server so we’re not going to turn it on but uh this would actually allow you to rotate the top of the windmill to face the into the wind Um wait really yes and this is like a real life thing it’s not just like a fantasy it is a real life thing and they even had replicated the method in which the Miller would vent smoke up into the gears to prevent bugs from eating the wood and destroying the mechanisms Inside which was just another amazing attention to detail I feel like I’m going to be saying that a lot in this video uh believe me I I watched a duck an hour long windmill documentary just to get a good look at everything moving now into the built up part of the Village the team took me through what I can only describe as the most beautifully detailed and realistic Minecraft build I have ever seen every single structure and every point of Interest had a reason for being there this very well could have been a real town the autograph guarantee is you’ll Go into any interior and it’s all done and it will make sense every profession that would be needed to sustain a community like this had been added from the blacksmith to the bartender which segues US nicely to the prancing pony the iconic location where the hobbits meet Aragon and often a spiritual home For many Tolkien fans and I think uh someone might have to correct me on this but I think this was actually based on the there was an inn in real life for Tolkien that went to a few times and based the prancing pony on and we looked At the the way that this that place was changed and they had this sort of back big back Courtyard at least between two wings and that’s kind of how it’s described in the book as well so we went we went with this kind of um this kind Of look I think it works quite well as someone who has seen the movies but doesn’t know much about Middle Earth I also learned on this tour that brie is not only home to humans but also to many Hobbits we took a trip up the hill to Check out all the Hobbit holes that have been carved into the landscape once again all in incredible detail they live kind of higher up the hill than the men do um near the top here we’re actually getting quite close to the summit but and that’s not because they’ve been Kicked out of town that’s just how they preferred their architecture to be located I think so yeah they like they like living in the side of Hills so I guess it makes sense for them to live up here yeah Bilbo’s got a actually a mansion I hope it sounds I mean we can Go there at the end uh just to look around but it’s it’s enormous compared to this he’s got he’s very rich he’s like the one percent in the shine well Lord of the Rings is a story about a bunch of Nobles and loyalty going off there’s not there’s not that many uh Poor people apart from Sam I suppose um yeah it sounds the real hero yeah exactly the most relatable character yeah okay he’s the one who saved says it saves it all in them it’s it’s great I could have a picnic up here easily easily yeah yeah Yeah but well in fact if you if you come along here that’s what funny you’ve said that because there is prepared a spot for a nice picnic yeah yeah exactly one of the things that impressed me the most during this whole tour was the trees I’m sure you’ve noticed how incredibly realistic they’ll Look well remember this guy age friends he has been hard at work making a seemingly endless repository of trees from a huge range of different species all in different shapes and sizes we took a walk to the outskirts of Brie and the whole time I felt like I was just at Home going for a bushwalk just with a bit like zero percent of the actual exercise but yeah using the new conquest blocks for trees has just been Monumental for tree building when compared to like 1.12 standards for trees I mean a contrast between this and a vanilla and Minecraft Woodland is it’s kind of yeah it’s kind of wild right this video just does not do it justice I promise you if you are able to I would 100 recommend downloading the mod pack and hopping on the server to explore this amazing world for yourself there’s a simple step-by-step guide on their Website on how to install it which I’ll have linked down in the description not only can you stand where we are now and explore this amazing Village of Brie but you can also build using the conquest refabricated mod on the creative plot world and be inspired by all the Different and amazing Builds on the server if you want to take it another step and actually join the recreation project well the team gave me a little peek behind the curtain it how it all works and what you can expect maybe some people are curious about how actually Our process works and how we actually get from you know nothing to something there’s a little hobbit Village just over the hill um by Bree called Savile which is being constructed right now yes you get this this great final product but how does it look when it’s being Built and how do we actually approach building you join the server you look around you you get an idea of how our Styles look and what product and then you apply so you can build in a single player we’ve got a Discord server where you can apply and you know give us you Know show us how you build and we’ll review it if you’re successful you become what’s called an apprentice where you learn for a few months how to actually build in our Styles and how to contribute and eventually we we kind of take you out of that probation period And make you a builder and then you can lead your own projects from there so it’s kind of about about you know teaching and learning is a really big part of our crafting and you know developing people’s skills as Builders is really important just just to talk About how the projects works you can see if you fly up there’s like um there’s like plots above each house you’ll see and there’s like um little like this is what the roof should be made out of like a system yeah yeah exactly this is what the profession Should be this is the little purple block is who’s claimed it the name of the person he said look it’s wedding approval and then the project leaders come back and said not approved and this is the reason why um this is what you need to do to get it Approved and so that’s kind of the quality control system that we have for everything to wrap things up the whole team gathered together in the prancing pony and gave me the most incredibly wholesome send-off let’s get in fact let’s get everyone let’s get okay everyone who’s in a spectator mode And everyone who’s on the server like everyone just pop out go into creative and come and sit in it’s gonna get very crowded in a moment but I think this will be nice it’s about everyone everyone packing what we want we just want people to come and come and see for Themselves and if they’re really inspired by what we’re doing to to maybe help out because uh you know as you can tell this is a big project and we need all the help we can get really the AutoCraft server is not only an incredible project of absolutely Epic Proportions but it also has a very special place in my heart you see I was first exposed to the conquest reforge mod through articraft by watching videos from YouTubers like dukon red and now that it’s been ported to fabric it’s going to be more accessible than ever And I really hope people can see the amazing creative potential of this mod so that’s gonna be it for the video I just want to say a huge thank you to forned and the articraft team for having me on it’s been an absolute treat getting to tour this amazing village With you and also a big thank you to the conquest mod developers and artists you guys have done some incredible work lastly I like to just plug the AutoCraft Discord and YouTube channel make sure you’re following them there to keep up with the progress and step state with The latest news on the project and also check out hren’s YouTube they’ve got some amazing stuff if you like high quality builds and history it’s the place to be but that’s it for the video thanks for watching foreign Foreign Video Information
